Always had a good experience here. We rented a 5x5 unit on level 4 in which to keep some of our stuff while we were renting in Boston (a little small, but with some creative arranging, everything fit). The Waltham location is a bit cheaper than those closer to downtown. It's a newer facility with easy driving access. Always looked clean and felt secure. There are two large service elevators and plenty of roller carts, a restroom on the ground floor and a nice sales office. We worked with Dieng during our initial rental and were checked out by Chris. Everyone was professional and friendly. My only complaint is that the concrete curb at the loading area is about a half-inch off the ground from the driveway when it should be level - doesn't sound like a big deal but this can seem like a small cliff with a fully loaded cart- maybe a smoother transition would help! Everything else is in good shape. read more

The moving truck I ordered one-month prior to moving through U-Haul for August 1st wasn't available until August 2nd. (that's another story but U-Haul sucks). I contacted the PS manager to request a move-out day of August 2 and offered to pay a prorated fee for the extra day. Instead of prorating the rental fee for the extra day, the manager said I owed the entire month's rent. Greed bastard! I moved because the rent had increased by over $300 in only 15 months, and there were noticeable rat droppings in and around the units. read more

Beginning with the choosing of the unit, location, and 24/7 availability, this location gives a feeling of security. It is clean, and the units appear sturdy. I have not had to interact with any of the humans on site, but it appears they will be as helpful as the reservation system. I will update this review as time goes on, but for now, A+. read more

I had the most incredibly experience yesterday all thanks to Tom. I had made a reservation online, and found out in store that the reservation only saved the price but not the size of my unit. I had wanted a 5x5 but was given a 10x5 instead for the same price! It was a painless, easy, and one of the most lovely experiences I have had to get my storage unit. The unit itself was amazing and clean, and all information was so easy to use through the app. I highly recommend renting here!! read more

I used Public Storage in Waltham, Ma for 7 years. since I always paid on time I never had an issue. When I visited months before I was to move my things in storage I was impressed with how clean my unit and belongings were. However, when working on removing my things there were some issues. I spoke with the district manager, Jonathan Grandbois and he did take some action to help. His final offer was to credit me the last months rent which an employee billed in error. It appeared as though my account was credited but he advised they would send me a check since they closed my account. This was just under $200. I called him multiple times and he took my calls, said they would be sending a check then without warning ghosted me. He never answered another call and I never received my check. I would not recommend this location for that reason. read more

Juan was incredibly helpful on the phone and as a Bentley student the location is perfect

The storage lockers are not cheap, with hidden fees when you sign up for one of their "deals". Rents keep going up 10-15% per year. Climate control is hit or miss. The first floor where the office is located is usually air conditioned OK. The second floor is not. They only turn on the AC to the upper floors when the heat level gets dangerous, and I've visited several days when it was a hot muggy humid swamp. Not good. Nothing is maintained nor fixed. This is a atorage facility where people are miving carts full of stuff to and from lockers. Yet all the elevators are labeled with signs saying they'll stop working if you hold the doors open (!). They're timed so you have around 10 seconds to punch in a long code and get into the elevator - with carts - before it leaves without you. Maybe instead of posting dumb signs all over theyshould just FIX the elevators so people can easily use them? The bathrooms are often locked, the outside doors are often left open, and the office is usually unoccupied and locked. Phone calls are rarely answered and usually go to an automated system for the nationwide group. The MAPS are wrong, with mislabeled lockers and have never been fixed. The place smells like rodents. There are only 4 carts, all wonky battered and really hard to steer. Carts are honor system, very little if any effort by employees to retrieve abandoned carts. If there are none available, happy hunting! Better hope the stray carts are on a floor you can get to. The past few weeks the unmaintained elevators have beoken down. You have to hike to the second floor, call an "up" elevator, hit the first floor button twice to switch it to down, then try to load up your stuff (don't hold the precious doors open!), punch in the 10 digit code, race back into the elevator and go up to the second floor. Appatently a different incantation is needed for the third floor. And they're raising the rent more than 15%. read more

Very convenient storage, completely automated. I needed space and could arrange it online and use it the same day.

Used storage with them for about 3-4 months. Manager inside does absolutely nothing and is completely unhelpful. Never answers the phone or does her job. I have no clue how and why she's still working there. Had a couple of items stolen and broken right outside in front of a camera. She said she would look and "couldn't find any footage" even though it was right in front of the camera. She was probably in the back room just eating when she went to go "look over footage". I even had insurance with the place and they refused to pay me because apparently it was my fault. Worst storage renting experience ever. Don't rent with them and if you do avoid this location at all costs. read more

I would avoid this business at all costs I rented a space and everything was OK until the 6 month rate increase which was over 50% of the original rate. I am a disabled senior. I was assured that the rate might change a few % after 6 months. I wish I would have read reviews before I rented. Basically bate with a free month and switch the rate after it is rented. Thank You Unsatisfied customer read more

Sending obnoxious unsolicited texts asking for reviews is a great way to get lots of one star reviews.

This company is run by a bunch of people that don't care about anyone and are willing to scam you at any given time. Customer service is an absolute joke. Super rude from the very beginning. The main reason I'm writing the bad review is that I came in on the 31st @ 1pm to clean out my unit because I wanted to close it out. Apparently, you can't close out your unit on the weekends (was never given that info) So I called the company and ended up leaving a voicemail with all my information and letting them know that I wanted to close out my unit. I came back in on the 1st to make sure everything was taken care of, but they informed me that I was going to get charged another months rent ( $170 ) since they didn't close it out for me. So I asked if there was anyone I could speak with or a number I could call to fix this issue, as I don't think it's fair to get charged a months rent when I was there and cleaned out the unit before the 1st, and the lady just laughed at me and said there wasn't. I was just "out of luck" How Ridiculous and rude !! You don't laugh at customers when you see they are having a bad day! Never using this company again!! read more

ONCE YOU HAVE MOVED IN THEY WILL RAISE THE COST. ONCE YOU HAVE MOVED IN THEY WILL RAISE THE COST ONCE YOU HAVE MOVED IN THEY WILL RAISE THE COST And not by a little amount This is a guarantee. In terms of a facility it is fine. Well lit, clean etc. However ONCE YOU HAVE MOVED IN THEY WILL RAISE THE COST AFTER A FEW MONTHS. It is in the contract that they can do this and so they do, but no one of course mentions that up front. They lure you in with a great price and once your stuff is in they raise the price expecting you will just stay, which is what most people do. I had to stay as it was too hard and time consuming to move again but I left as soon as possible. read more

My daughter is a college student who stored her belongings here over the summer. On move-in weekend, we went to retrieve her things and there were only two trolleys (to service the 1000+ units) and both were being used. I went to the office to ask if there were more. I see two more trolleys through the glass window however the office doors were locked and no one was there for the entire time we spent dragging her belongings the down the hallways, into the elevator and out to her car. I guess the employee who never showed up felt secure in doing so since no one answers the phone when you call. There is no one to complain to. read more

We have been using Public Storage in Waltham for a couple of years and are getting ready to switch facilities in the next year or so because there have been several issues: 1) Management is non-responsive, and this place is absolutely disgusting and not well maintained. The facility is infested with rats/mice. The amount of droppings we find in our units is disgusting. Several of the light bulbs were burnt out last time we went. 2) There are homeless people living in/around the facility after hours. They leave one of the bathroom doors propped open for them. We believe the employees are possibly providing them with their own codes to access the facilities. 3) There are never enough carts. They have two carts for the entire facility. Coupled with the constant increases in rent does not make this place an ideal place to store your goods. Go elsewhere! read more

Clean and spacious unit, felt safe and secure, rate was also better than alot of competitors.

Stay away from this facility. It is infested with rats. This is known to management but they choose not to do anything about it. My son and his friend used this storage during summer to keep staff off campus during school break. When they came to pick up their stuff if was all damaged by rats, dead rats found inside couple of boxes. Damage estimate is over 1.5K. Management did nothing. Not even offered a rent reimbursement. I needed a storage unit and I'm glad I chose Public Storage on Moody St in Waltham. The place is well put together and extremely clean. It was easy to work with them. Everyone I spoke to was kind, upfront and friendly. My unit is perfect for what I needed. read more

Solid place seems safe to store things. One of the workers was kinda of rude asking me what I storing and made me feel a little uncomfortable. I figured a core value was privacy and security but overall not bad. read more

The training for associates here is poor. They are trained how to recite policy only. Anything else is referred to the District Manager. The only thing promt about the service a this location was an increase in monthly fees by more than 25% after the completion of 12 months and a late fee charge - neither with any advance notice. 13 months of payments made on time and no concession for a late fee charge when my card failed due to a replacement due to fraud??? Even WalMart can provide better customer service than that on a good day. read more

Super easy sign up process. Was able to get in next day off hours with my passcode. Clean. Easy. Felt safe and secure. Was price competitive to other alternatives. read more

Horrible conditions. Mouse feces all throughout my unit. There are not mouse traps in the units and the units are all interconnected as there are big gaps between units. Many ruined items. The insurance claim with my own company will not reimburse for the lost hours that it took to unpack everything, so as to not carry dead mice into a trailer. If you have had a bad experience like this, please contact the city and report the infestation problem. Also report to the Better Business Bureau. This place needs to be closed down for public safe read more

They were ok. I was not happy when I was denied access to the bathroom. That is not ideal at all for people moving a long way. Not right. Nothing a little hand sanitizer wouldn't hurt. read more

Easy to book online, with multiple live-person voice messages prior to moving in to cover all of the details. On moving day Ashely was efficient and incredibly helpful. I've used other PS locations but this one may be the best experience yet. read more

We were told one price and then they raised it by $25 per month once we got there. As this was an emergency situation due to my college closing early because of the corona virus i really had no choice but to sign the contract. We had a reservation number etc with the lower price. They basically said too bad. Very poor business practice to take advantage of people in an epidemic situation. CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH!! read more

My fiancé and I were in a real pinch and needed storage and our other option fell through last minute. We called this facility and Donese was so pleasant and helpful. After filling up one unit we quickly found out we would need a second and she was so quick to help. The units were perfect and donese was nothing but excellent and helpful especially since my fiancé is on crutches with a broken leg and she made sure the unit was on the first floor. I'm not giving 5 stars because the next day I received a call that I needed to pay for switching units which they did end up covering, but I feel like the facility could use a bit more organization and should not call a customer telling them they owe money for a mistake the employee made by accident without checking first. But overall great experience and clean place. Would recomend to friends! read more

Walked in late morning and were greeted immediately. We were just inquiring about rates, sizes and such. Was told that there were better prices online. I can never understand that. Why do places have different prices for different people? Internet or walk in, what is the difference? I'm looking for them to do the same thing. Just seems a little Used Car dealerish. At the end of the day the staff was great and as long as my suspicion is not correct and they don't pull some sort of rate hike on me 5 stars all the way! read more

Arber helped me today and provided excellent service. I recommend using them . Ask for Arber he will provide you top notch service .

I was late on a payment and I know i shouldn't have been late, however the fees were almost 200.00 for the that's kinda excessive.

Great service! They immediately helped me and started my paperwork right away. Ben and Jackie were quick to answer any questions I had and were able to clearly talk me through my payments! read more

After the first 6 months, the rent increased by 20%. None of the costs increased at that rate. I believe the expression is "bait and switch". I had been a long standing customer at a different Public Storage facility, and that loyalty was not considered or rewarded in implementing this increase. Heck, it was barely recognized at the original location, where the annual increases were regularly 15%... again... no relation to changes in taxes or interest rates or any expense item. The folk at the site are responsible and reassuring, but they have no influence over the pricing changes. With $2 billion in corporate revenue and $1 billion in net profit, it seems that there is plenty of room to treat the staff and the customers better. So before choosing any Public Storage facility, consider that the price that is initially quoted to you will not last. read more

Do not rent storage space from them. They will entice you with the special promotions and monthly rate. After several months, they will increase your monthly rate by double digits. They will give you that scripted statement saying due to market rates, increase in utilities, blah blah blah. Waste of time moving in and moving out. Deceptive practices. read more

Not very happy. Bathrooms are disgusting, no toilet paper. Doors are now locked. The rent has gone up, but the place still needs routine maintenance. Also noticed one morning about 6:30 am, a person in his socks smoking a cigarette by the elevators... weird, probably living somewhere around there and using the bathrooms and that's why they are probably locked... read more

This place is one of the worst Public Storage facilities I've seen: for months, the security gate outside was not working (and left open); there is no cell coverage but the emergency call box on the floor where my units were located was broken (and to this day not fixed); staff made representations regarding monetary terms that would apply when I moved it, which turned out to be wrong (I called the manager but no response). And during my last call with someone there to discuss the terms of the move-out, I was hung up on. Although some other storage companies may be more expensive, the one I currently use is: (1) super clean; (2) everything works, including the security mechanisms; and (3) the staff is exceptional. I'd spare yourself and either find a different Public Storage place than this one; or use a different company. read more

I wanted to rent a unit cause the prices were reasonable,...... what they don't tell you when you come in to get the unit is you have to buy their locks for $19.00 and you a required to pay $11.00 per month for insurance. I initially thought I needed a medium size storage unit. But on the day of the move I realized with the help of my mover that a small unit would be fine. My basic advice: do not rent here. If you experience what I did, you will be quoted a price for your storage space, you will sign a contract requiring that they give you 30 days notice before the price is changed, and suddenly after paying your bills on time every month for six months, without providing you with notice they will jack up the price and tell you it's not their problem when you complain. I guess the storage business is so good for them that they don't have to worry about keeping customers. This is one customer who will be moving out ASAP. read more

My first impression was how up to date, AND CLEAN, this business was. I was also impressed by the professional staff.
