No. Just no. It's best to drive an hour to Nola to get better kbbq or go without. The waiter was great. The food was terrible. The sides were a small spoonful each. Smaller than I've ever seen. Out of the 4 sides: 1 was a pancake that was stone cold. Another was a dollop of potato salad that was awfully sweet. No kimchi. The rice was gummy. The meat was brought out frozen. I said well lets just grill it. meat is meat. Wrong. It was terrible. We had to add salt and pepper to the meat. Then I saw a jar of whatever at another table almost and I grabbed that to add. Then the waiter brought a dip when we were halfway through the food. I've made bulgogj at home that was better. We left a majority of the food uneaten. Really wanted to like this place. Maybe the cooked food is better than the kbbq grill sets but at this point I won't return. read more

Holy mackerel!! NEW FAVORITE PLACE! They've only been open for 3 months, and I haven't been back to the state for 10 months, so I was soooo happy to see a Vietnamese restaurant in downtown Hammond!! The inside is VERY cool. Loved the decor. The staff was super friendly, and our waitress went above and beyond to explain the dishes and tell us about some of her favorites, since it was our first time. While we went craving Vietnamese, we were very intrigued by their Korean offerings. we both ended up ordering the Hot Stone Bowl Bibimbap. Whoa. This is CRAZY good!! It's served in a literally hot stone bowl (it's right in the name!!), and as our waitress explained, the egg on top looks under cooked and runny, but in this traditional dish, you are supposed to mix up all of the ingredients, and add the sauce that comes on the side, and the "hot stone bowl" will continue to cook the egg, and what I found the most delicious....it continues to TOAST the rice!! It made for SUCH a depth of flavor! Such toasty nuttiness! I can't WAIT to go back and order what I actually went there craving (I'm a total freak for grilled pork vermicelli!! Guys! Went in today and sat at a larger family (6 top) with my wife and daughter. We asked if we could sit anywhere and were told yes. Upon sitting the waiter was extremely rude and asked if we could move else where. When I explained I didn't feel comfortable with my back to the restaurant (I'm a combat vet) he was extremely rude, rolling his eyes and giving us a sassy response. We decided to leave. Very pleased upon first impression. Le Saigon offers a menu unlike any before in Downtown Hammond. For my first visit I ordered Korean BBO stir fry lo mien, and I requested a fried egg on top. The meal was topped with some veggies and green onion, and marginated in soy and sweet red chili flavors. There are many options to choose from on the menu and it should inspire many return trips. I also enjoyed the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Update: I have visited several times now and the pho is delicious as well. I recommend the fresh cut eye round steak and brisket. read more

I tried Le Saigon the second night it's new location opened and I loved it! It was extremely delicious and I loved every single dish I tried. I recommend their Korean BBQ Bulgogi rice plate. I will say, however, I did not enjoy their Thai milk tea one bit. It was very watery and it had an odd flavor. Since it was the second night of its new location opening, there was a pretty long wait to get a table but I definitely didn't mind waiting for their amazing food. Their service was a bit frantic and they did mess up our orders but I believe it was because they were packed for their opening. Though the wait was long, their milk tea wasn't the best, and their service was a bit frazzled, I would still 100% give this place a 5 star review based on their food -- it was just THAT good. I would not even hesitate to go back for a second. I believe since it's a been a while since their new location opened, the service should be less hectic and more used to bigger crowds for their bigger locations. If you're ever passing through Hammond, then I would definitely stop to give this place a try!! read more

He has tried several different things from the bang bang chicken and shrimp to the hot stone bowl. Everything we've tried has been amazing. Delicious. The servers are fantastic, and really understand what is in their food. I ordered a tofu dish, and she knew what had fish sauce in it and what didn't. Made sure she swapped the sauce that came with it for something fish sauce free. I got the vermicelli, which was delicious, with lots of fresh vegetables! The only issues is that when I went they were out of both tapioca for the bubble tea and chopsticks. read more

My family of 5 ate here. Sat at hibachi grill. Was excited at first, but quickly went downhill. The meat platter for the table to grill over the hibachi was only enough for two people. The sides were a joke. Only two pieces of broccoli and a couple of slices of cucumber for the whole table. When we asked for more sides, we got the evil eye. They have all the rules of what you can and cannot order. Service was slow and not accommodating at all. Will not be back. read more

Decided to try this tonight. I would love to review the food but I can't. Because after we sat there for over an hour the only food we got was an appetizer which was actually meant for another table. And it was cold. Service was awful. The menu seemed interesting. But i will never waste my time there again. Waited an hour, got the wrong cold appetizer and drinks. Cost 22.50. Ridiculous. We ate lunch at Le Saigon on a Saturday a few weeks ago and were seriously disappointed. We tried to order a salad, but were told only the owner had the recipe and she was not there that day. So they could not make it. ?? The vegetable pancake was mostly potato, super greasy, and somewhat burnt. The calamari was freezer burned and taste funny. The Banh mi sandwich was underwhelming with no flavor and very little meat and veggies (mostly bread). Although the mango tea was delicious, the tapioca pearls were actually hard in the center. (Definitely not right) The spring roles were good and the hot stone bowl was good, as long as you used most/all the spicy sauce. The service was ok, not terrible or great. This was our third try at this restaurant. I think we are done. read more

Phenomenal Korean/Vietnamese fusion cuisine! The Bibimbap is perfectly authentic; I haven't had anything like it since I was in South Korea! In fact, it's better than most similar dishes I've had (NO canned tuna!)! The Korean BBQ, bulgogi, was also divine! Portions were perfect, as well. The owner stopped by our table, and others, to meet and greet. She was absolutely delightful, and even let us sample her mother's kimchi! Average. Not good, not bad, just average.. and I was expecting so much more. I love the downtown location. The minimal decor is nice and the restaurant is clean. I ordered the vermicelli with grilled chicken as my meal and I was underwhelmed. It is on par with almost every take out Chinese restaurant that can be found in every town across the country. My dining companion had Korean bbq with jasmine rice, which was decent. The service was average, no real complaints, but it was not on par with the other restaurants in the area. We visited on a Thursday night around 8pm and they closed at 9:30. There were only two tables occupied. Around 8:45 a couple walked in and requested a table, then asked if they were still serving. The waiter told them that they were closing soon and asked if they would still like to be seated. Obviously he did not want a "late" table, so they left. I just wasn't impressed. No real complaints, but no real compliments either. read more

I ate at this place last Saturday for their soft opening. The food is Vietnamese (pho) and Korean (Korean BBQ and bibimbap), etc. I wouldn't say that I am an adventurous eater. I usually warm-up to restaurants slowly, starting with vegetable dishes, but I was able to sample off my husband's dishes (who is very adventurous) and all the food was terrific. My favorite dish of the night was the shrimp spring rolls. They grill the shrimp and you can taste the smokiness in the spring rolls in a very good way. We also really enjoyed the bibimbap (rice, eggs, beef BBQ in a hot stone bowl). After serving time in the military and deploying a couple of time to Korea, my husband became a huge fan of Korean food and, in his opinion, the bibimbap at Le Saigon was better than the dishes he ate in Korea. That is high praise from him. For future visits, I am eyeballing the chicken sriracha and the shrimp taco (appetizer). I'll keep you posted. read more

The restaurant is really nice on the inside and the wait staff is nice. With that being said the food portion is definitely not worth the price. If you have experienced other Korean or Vietnamese restaurants you would know the difference. At Koreans restaurant you don't get charged for kimchi it comes with the meal. You certainly don't get it served in a condiment dish that most hamburger places put ketchup in it. Or if you would happen to get charged it would be free refill. Reading the other reviews, I must of caught one of the owners on a bad day because she wasn't friendly. Never going back to le Saigon again, I'd rather make the drive to the south shore where the restaurants are more authentic to the culture of Korean and Vietnamese food. read more

I have to say I was disappointed by this place. From the reviews and photos, I was so excited to try it. I ordered 3 appetizers and not one of them impressed me. I tried the fried green beans, they were heavily breaded and greasy, served with "yum yum" sauce which is essentially mayo. I also tried the boa bun app which I was particularly excited about as I love bao buns, I chose the bulgogi beef (which the server described as one of their specialties) and the bang bang chicken. The bulgogi was difficult to eat as it had an overwhelming, artificial tasting smoke flavor. The chicken was ok and covered in the "yum yum" mayo, basically tasted like a chicken sandwich with mayo-not bad just not anything special. I also ordered the cream cheese Rangoon's, please note these are not crab Rangoon, there is no crab and that is fine and can still be delicious but honestly I was still underwhelmed. My husband ordered the bulgogi sizzling plate and he liked it. Our server was sweet but when we ordered ice cream, he obliged and brought out a scoop of vanilla, but failed to communicate that we would be charged $6.95 For a "brownie with ice cream" no brownie ‍. Please don't waste your time or money. We had res. for 7:30p. for the cooking table. Got to the table at 7:20 after that it all went downhill. Our server took our drink order. 20 minutes later got them. Ordered app. we started to get antsy after not getting anything until 8.30. Then at 8:45 the owner comes to the table to tell us they were out of pork belly. We told her we had been there since 7:20 she said sorry. 15 min later meat got there. They have no oil on the pan so everything sticks badly. We got the biggest family plate. It was 6 of us. The 2 kids ate off the menu. I could have eaten what they gave us by myself. The bill with the gratuity added was $199.00. Server ran our card but she charged the wrong ticket. Got that straight and ended the night. I don't mind paying for food. We eat out all the time. This was horrible. I would give it less, but it was decent the first time I went. I got the Stone Bowl bibimbop, and this time everything (rice included) was ICE (refrigerator temperature) cold. The meat itself had a nice flavor. I sent it back, and was told they couldn't remake it because they didn't have the ingredients. I then asked if they could just heat up what I had originally. 20 minutes later, I still didn't have it. We arrived an hour and 15 minutes before our play started at Columbia next door; we told them upon arriving, and it still took 20 minutes before they even took our water order. One of the appetizers never came out (pancake) and the others came out after our food arrived. Eggrolls were very mediocre, on the verge of being bad, as was the fried rice dish. The best thing anyone got were the dumplings. Out of desperation, ordered a smoothie made from powder (NOT fresh fruit) when exiting. They did remove the Stone Bowl from my ticket. Will NOT be returning, but am extremely upset, as the Stone Bowl was great on my first visit. I also saw one waitress popping food into her mouth and another chatting with a client at the bar who clearly had no food. Perhaps the service was bad because it was a bit busier than normal, but these actions show that the servers were not trying their hardest either. read more

Le Saigon is the best Vietnamese resturant in Hammond. I would put it up against some of the top in New Orleans and the Westbank. Pork vermicelli is amazing especially with the enroll and a fried egg on top. Spring rolls are excellent. For a real treat, try the stone bowl bipimbop (technically a korean dish). The crispy rice on the bottom makes for a nice range of textures. Le Saigon has become a twice a week stop for me. read more
