We were treated here for dinner and I absolutely loved it! Great atmosphere and attentive staff. I liked the self-serve drink station. We had different kinds of pork and chicken ramen, all of which were delicious and served with rich broths. The appetizers were just the right size and everything was timed perfectly so that we didn't have to wait long for any part of our meal. Will be returning here soon! Thank you!

Amazing tasting food by chef. No nonsense here. Limited area to eat but had counter and tables too. Not cheap but good Disappointed no bao on weekdays Corner store in strip mall Server was questionable as to whether he was rude or just a cultural thing happening

New Ramen restaurant in Covington Journey Ramen Soup : 9/10 Noodles: 9/10 Pork: 7/10 Price: $$/$$$ Overall: 8.5/10 Comment: soup is great; noodles is hard enough; pork is okay, not enough fat part in pork, a little too hard for me,pork belly(+$1.5); credit card will have extra service fee,; overall is pretty good, it is the best reman I had in Covington area

Everything tasted delicious, can't complain there! Portions are small and not very cheap. It was $150 for 4 people. Drinks are self serve. Restaurant is not very big inside, seating is limited. They do have some things to purchase like cool drinks, teas, candy, gifts etc.. Couldn't understand the waiter at all but the owner (I think he was the owner) kept coming by to check on us and would repeat things so we understood.

    The goku! Excellent

Just had an excellent bowl of ramen here. Ramen done right. Salty, flavorful broth chewy noodles, tender pork, and a perfectly done soft boiled marinated egg. Looks like the folks who were at "Journey east" in Mandeville have moved. A smaller location it was busy at 1 pm on a Saturday which was good to see. Service was less than stellar but nothing to complain about. A cozier space that was reminiscent of the little ramen shops I visited when I was in Japan.

    Dumpling

Holy over priced. Spent 50$ left hungry. Portions are small. Dumplings out of a box. Won't be back lol. Beef & rice was good- again small portions for the price

The location is fun and creative (food arriving by dumbwaiter never gets old), but the lack of tables makes it tricky if you're planning on more than a quick bite. The menu itself is wickedly tempting, and the flavors are there--the wings especially were excellent. Easily some of the best chicken I've had in the city. My only real issue was the salt. And not the soy sauce or seasoning kind you'd expect with dim sum--just straightforward table salt. We ordered four dishes, and I was glad I saved the wings for last since they were the least salty. By the time I circled back through the other plates, all I could taste was salt, which sadly masked what were otherwise really well-balanced, flavorful dishes (the Dan Dan dumplings in particular had great flavor underneath it all). Overall: clever concept, fun atmosphere, tasty food--but dialing back the salt would take it from good to outstanding. Solid 3/5.

We ordered the bao and immediately noticed a sour taste after only one bite. We informed our server that we did not enjoy the dish, but it was not removed from our bill. Additionally, the chicken pho broth lacked flavor and tasted more like dirty water than a properly prepared pho broth. Service was also lacking. Throughout much of our visit, several staff members appeared to be sitting at the bar on their phones rather than actively attending to guests. The overall hospitality did not meet our expectations. To make matters worse, when paying with tap-to-pay, the gratuity screen only presented tip options of 20%, 22%, and 25%. The server held the payment tablet while we completed the transaction, creating an uncomfortable situation where customers may feel pressured to leave a substantial tip regardless of the quality of service received. Given the level of service we experienced, this left a particularly poor impression. Based on our experience with both the food quality and customer service, I would not recommend this restaurant to others looking for a place to eat while visiting the area.

The food and service easily make up for it. Our waiter brought out complimentary fried beef dumplings with a house-made chili sauce that tasted incredible. We ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice (shrimp, pork, chicken, egg, pineapple, and onions) and it was absolute perfection. After quite a bit of discussion in the kitchen, the server returned, but instead of a manager coming out, I was given essentially the same explanation we had already discussed. I calmly explained why the charges didn't make sense and expressed that I was unhappy with how the situation was being handled. Unfortunately, there seemed to be little interest in resolving the concern or retaining my business. The food is fine, but my advice is to carefully review your bill before paying. My rule of thumb is if a restaurant is willing to have a not so nice dining area, imagine what the kitchen is like. Everything looked clean, except the tactile table. The did clean again upon request. Very friendly staff. The Red Oil Wonton were delicious. Well spiced with only what can described as a tiny meatball inside the soft wanton. The stuffed wanton are worth a trip back. Xiao Long Bao is a filled dumpling with soup in it. You put the dumpling in a spoon, take a small bite or poke it with a chopstick, then eat. Other than the logistical challenge of using chopsticks and a large spoon, very tasty broth and stuffing. Special mention for the shrimp broth. Unusual taste. Some in Louisiana may think it's a bit "off" but I really didn't think so. It reminded me of those little dry shrimp they used to sell next to the cash registers at grocers, lol.
