The best takeout I've had! We placed an order for steamed pork Bao buns, pan fried chicken dumplings, and the red oil wontons. When we picked it up, they gave us the cutest to go bag and everything was packed so nicely. The food was delicious. My favorite was the steamed pork Bao buns and the red oil wontons. The Bao buns were decent size and packed full of flavor. I couldn't believe that it was all homemade. The red oil wontons were a tad bit spicy, but we ate those so fast. The pan fried chicken dumplings weren't bad, I just wish I got them steamed over pan fried. I really like how they asked you how you would like everything cooked. When we went inside to pick up, the decor was amazing! So unique.

This is my new spot for great food. I keep coming back for the food. Have to start off with the fried cream cheese wontons, egg rolls and the vegetable rice. Food is always fresh, hot and taste great. Must try a pot of hot teas Jasmine Green and Peach Oolong. Great! The service is good I just had to make sure the waitress knew had a food allergy to peas. The restaurant is always clean and peaceful.

Notes: 1) been here once Pros: 1) decent service 2) ambiance is good Cons: 1) food looked good but it was overall average. Got the fried dumpling which was raw on one side. Rating: 2/5 I think the biggest issue here is the food. The consistency and taste overall was not there. The best thing I had was the shumai. Most other foods were average. The look of the food was good. The bao of the custard one differed from the others and tasted very good. It is odd that this bao and the others were so different, almost as if it was made by a different person. I didn't get to see much service but it was great when I entered the establishment. The ambiance looks nice as well. Overall: a good place but needs time to find a good flow. Will give a low review now mainly because the taste was not there and the rawness of one of the dumplings. Foods: 1) shumai: the best thing here 5/5 would recommend 2) scallion pancake: 4/5, the sauce was too salty 3) fried pork dumplings: 0/5 raw dough, salty interior 4) pork and chicken xiao long bao: 2.5/5, not enough soup and taste was mainly salt and the respective meat 5) crawfish and pork bao: 2/5, filling did not go with the sweeter and spicier outside. The filling tasted like crawfish but seasoned very oddly. 6) red oil wontons: 2/5, tasted like frozen wontons that were all cooked together in a pan of red oil 7) fried rice: 4/5 pretty good but no taste of umami 8) mapo tofu: 4/5, well seasoned and spicy 9) sesame balls: 4.5/5, overall too chewy and not much filling but taste was good. Would recommend. 10) custard bao: 4.5/5, not a lot of filling and a lot of bread but taste was good. Would recommend.

Have been here twice and haven't been disappointed! The atmosphere and decorations are so creative and great to just look at while eating. The soup dumplings are the main staple and the chicken are so good with plenty of soup. They added the bbq pork bao to the menu which are now my favorites. Service is quick and the staff is very friendly. Everything is filling and the restaurant is great for groups to go and have a dumpling kind of day

We checked out Dumpling and Bao recently, and the place is honestly beautiful. The vibe and decor really capture some cool historical Chinese elements, which made the whole experience feel special. The food was kind of hit or miss. We got the beef noodle soup extra spicy, but it came out pretty mild and didn't have much flavor as well and the beef was very chewy. The chef's spicy beef was about the same, not much heat or depth to it. The soup dumplings, both chicken and pork, were a bit disappointing too, since they didn't have the broth inside like they're supposed to, and the flavor was off. On the bright side, the pan-fried pork dumplings were amazing. They were crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. The spicy cucumber was refreshing, the bang bang shrimp was really good, and the scallion pancake was decent. Our server Alaysia, was wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The service and atmosphere were both great. A few dishes really stood out, but overall, the food could use a little more spice and flavor to match how great the place looks and feels. Oh there was a mouthwash dispenser in the bathroom, which I found convenient.

I think this sign is adorable.

I can't wait to go back here and get different dishes. We got a bunch our first time. DEF chicken soup dumplings were my favorite. Service was good, their sodas were on point. I know it's weird but if a restaurant can't get the soda right, it makes me super suspish of the food.

I'd been hearing so many great things about this new spot that I had to try for myself. The food was delicious, service was amazing, very swift, and staff were friendly. This is a great place for luncheons, date night, and more! I got the spicy beef noodle soup, chicken dumplings, bang bang shrimp, cream cheese wontons, peach oolong tea pot, and other items like the cucumber salad. All of the food was between a 8/10-10/10. I personally didn't like the type of noodles used and felt they were slightly undercooked but the broth and spices make up for the noodle soup. Great dish for anyone with a cold, congestion, cough, recovering for lost of taste , etc. The tea was great! I just wished they had honey to sweeten it to take it to the next level. My only other complaint about the visit is that my sister ordered the wrong dumpling type and was told she still had to keep/pay for the since they had already been made. Great spot overall!

First time and first meal in Baton Rogue, I know I strayed from the traditional fare of the city but I do love Bao. I believe this place is brand new as there as beer and wine on the menu but you could not order it bc they didn't have their liquor license yet. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Service as prompt and friendly. The food was very good and we did get the crawfish bao (nod to the local specialties). Check it out if you're in town.

Great place to get dumplings, especially in Baton Rouge. I love the aesthetic and atmosphere of the restaurant. The food it came out fast and you tasted very authentic. My favorites was the pork xiao long bao , and the chili wonton. The regular dumpling and beef beef scallion wrap were OK too. I recommend it would come back.

Excellent! Great service, delicious food and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our meal. Everything came out quickly and super fresh. Nice fast casual atmosphere. The dumplings were very good, but the fried rice was phenomenal. It has a slight smokiness and filled with lots of shrimp. I have visited twice and can't wait to return. Kudos.

I am writing this as one week from soft opening. The decoration and ambiance of the restaurant is quite cute. The appetizers we got was cucumber, scallion pancake, and bambam shrimp and they were all good. The dumplings are okay. The pork pan friend dumpling was the best. However the Xiaolingbao did not live up to the expectation. The chicken xiaolongbao was very dry and did not have any soup. The pork xiaolongbao was a slightly sour and the meat tasted off and slightly old. My friend came in soft opening and said it tasted much better back then. Thankfully the management exchanged that but the inconsistency is a problem. My rice was also stale. The spicy is not too spicy even if I asked to make it extra spicy. The service was spectacular and Alaysia was amazing!

Initial thoughts as soon as we walked in was, WOW, this place is beautiful with their decorations and atmosphere. Service was perfect. Everyone was very nice and it was very quick. We ordered the scallion pancakes, pork soup dumplings, chicken steamed dumplings, spicy beef noodle soup, and vegetable noodle soup. Everything was delicious. The only issue was the spicy beef noodle soup didn't really taste spicy at all. But other than that, it was perfect. Will most definitely be returning.

I hope you are in the car on your way to Noodles and Dumplings before you finish reading my review…read more We will be coming here so often we will need to add a line item in our monthly budget for noodles. The dining room is light and inviting. We were immediately greeted by a friendly host. The kitchen is partially open so on our way to our table, we saw one of the chefs pulling the noodles. (Very fun for kids and adults I might add!) For starters, we ordered some boba tea. Not sure how often the flavors rotate, but you will have to ask for their flavors of the day. They had mango, taro, and Thai tea when we came in. We had the mango with colorful boba (more similar to a jelly IMO) and taro with brown sugar boba. Both were delicious, not too sweet. Beverly took great care of us the moment we sat down! Being that it was our first visit, she guided us around the menu and gave us suggestions along the way. We wanted to try the Deep Sea but unfortunately they were out. However, per Beverly's suggestion we ordered the Shrimp Tempura and it was very good. The tempura was well seasoned and the fry was crispy but not dry. We also had the Cream Cheese Wontons, Panfried Colorful Dumplings Combo and Beef Roll. Personally, of the four dumpling fillings, beef was my favorite. All four starters are a good choice, but if you leave without trying the Beef Roll, you are doing yourself a disservice. My recommendation from best to still very good: Beef Roll Shrimp Tempura Panfried Colorful Dumplings Cream Cheese Wontons For our main dish (only had room for one after all our starters), we ordered the Black Garlic Oil Ramen with pork belly. This ramen bowl is massive. We barely made a dent in it and we thought they would have to roll us out of the restaurant. The pork belly was also nicely seared thicker cut; none of that thin and overcooked pork belly some ramen places use. I am afraid I will not be trying their other ramen bowl simply because I loved this one so much that I cannot imagine eating here and not getting this black garlic ramen. The custard bao caught our eye so we had to order it to go. (This was when we considered whether we should have ordered less starters. The thought was fleeting as we are looking forward to all the leftovers in the fridge.) I was nervous that the custard would be overwhelmingly sweet. I was wrong, it was delicious even if its light dusting of sugar on top.

(From October 2025)…read more In the mood for noodles, YELP pulls this place up randomly and seeing the ratings, I placed a to-go order on their website for the stir-fried combo signapore noodles and the combo colorful pan-fried dumplings. About 25 minutes later, I get to the place and pick up the order and then get back to my hotel where I grub down. Both the dumplings and noodles are tasty good. The dumplings came in multiple colors with a nice crust on the bottom and packed with filling. I got caught off guard with the extra fried dough-residue attached to the dumplings but it didn't bother me. The order comes with 2 dumplings each of beef onion, pork scallion, chicken, and vegetable. The combo noodles has chicken, beef, and shrimp mixed in with onions and peppers and a soy-based sauce. IT's a hefty portion that gave me lunch for the next day. I'll have to try the noodle soups and other dumplings next time I'm here. Overall a solid asian eats spot in Lafayette.

And not the soy sauce or seasoning kind you'd expect with dim sum--just straightforward table salt. We ordered four dishes, and I was glad I saved the wings for last since they were the least salty. By the time I circled back through the other plates, all I could taste was salt, which sadly masked what were otherwise really well-balanced, flavorful dishes (the Dan Dan dumplings in particular had great flavor underneath it all). I ordered Szechuan beef expecting a dry stir fry of beef strips tossed with dried Szechuan peppers. Instead I got a 1 quart container with a zesty, moderately spicy broth loaded with tender strips of melt-in-your-mouth beef. This was pure heaven, and was an explosion of tangy flavor. After quite a bit of discussion in the kitchen, the server returned, but instead of a manager coming out, I was given essentially the same explanation we had already discussed.
