I decided to try Coco Korean BBQ on Magazine Street. The moment we stepped inside, I had a bit of an uh-oh moment the interior felt pretty dull and a little depressing. The service was decent, though. They served six side dishes, but they were just okay really cold, like they had just come straight from the fridge. We ordered kimchi stew and kalbi, which were good, but the rest of was just so so. Maybe I'm spoiled by the amazing Korean food in the Silicon Valley, but overall, it was just decent. Sorry, Coco Korean BBQ just not quite hitting the spot!

Service is quick and friendly, and they always serve large portions which really gives you bang for your buck! The garlic fried rice base is a must. The chicken protein options are great but I think the braised beef is the best. You can't go wrong when selecting a sauce and get all the toppings! I highly recommend when you want a quicker lunch that tastes awesome! Love that they're opening a second location.

Personally didn't like the flavor of either. The bean sprouts were tasty though. Rice cakes were tasty and spicy and the sauce was nice. Maybe could've had more fish cakes in it but overall was tasty. However I don't like their use of raw cabbage in it. It was not kimchi. Just raw shredded cabbage. Bulgogi tasted EXACTLY like yoshinoya beef. Yoshinoya is a chain of Japanese fast food bowls and is good, but not what I wanted in bulgogi. It tasted EXACLTY like it. No differences. Additionally the restaraunt was dirty and could use a face lift. The food took forever to arrive as well. It was expensive too. Overall not a good idea to come here

The service was wonderful, our waiter was very attentive, helpful, and friendly. It was a very cute establishment, but the food was just a big miss for me. I thought it was neat having several different choices of food, but I was expecting a little better quality food. The meat didn't taste all that great in my Udon combination. Not bad, just very cafeteria quality food. To be totally honest though, I think my hospital's cafeteria has much better food. We were recommended to try the honey garlic chicken, but we did not at all except to just receive a plate of fried chicken nuggets with honey mustard slathered all over them. Again, tasted just fine, but nothing special at all. The lo mein was quite bland to me. Never hurts to try something new though! Nonetheless, the happy hour was great. We got hot sake and egg rolls ($1.50!) and those were so good!! If I were in the area around happy hour, I would consider going back!

A few…read morefriends had recommended this place, so we were excited to try it despite being told upfront there would be a 30 minute to 1 hour wait due to the kitchen being backed up. That was completely fine with us. What wasn't fine was the way the situation was handled. When I told the hostess that we were willing to wait and asked to be seated, she suggested that we leave instead and said she would come back with the time frame and "hopefully we'll be available." This was especially frustrating considering there were open tables and seats visible, it was cold outside, and we were traveling with two toddlers. We also don't live in the area, so leaving and "hoping" to return wasn't a realistic option. If the kitchen was backed up, that's understandable -- but the lack of accommodation, empathy, or even basic courtesy made us feel unwelcome. First impressions matter, and this experience felt less like managing a wait and more like being brushed off. I can't speak to the food because we never got the chance to try it, but based on customer service alone, I wouldn't recommend this place -- especially to families or out-of-town visitors.

The ambiance is very casual and is similar to the Korean BBQ places in other major cities, playing K Pop with dim lights. The tables and chairs were a bit sticky. Raw marinated crabs were spicy but very flavorful and is yummy with fresh rice. It was still a little frozen and would have tasted better thawed. The Jajangmyeon's noodles were cooked perfectly and I loved the texture of the noodles. It came with plenty of sauce so we mixed the rest of the Japchae noodles with it. The Japchae was ok by itself, but delicious when mixed with the Jajangmyeon! This was my first time trying the Army stew. It had spam, sausages, rice cakes, tofu, cheese and noodles. For such a huge pot, I wish that it came with more noodles. The tofu was very soft and this stew is perfect for a rainy or cold day.
