Planned a trip to Hammond for over a month and drove more than an hour specifically to come eat here. Apparently, although it isn't on their website, they don't open the cooktop tables on Friday. There was a party seated and eating at a cooktop table, but after the hostess went and asked the manager, we were told there was only one waitress on shift that knows how to work the tables, and "she's already swamped, but you can come back another day". oh my goodness this is the go-to for winter lunches. the pho is so filling and the portions are huge for the price point. my boyfriend and i tried the Korean bbq and not only did our server guide our experience perfectly, it came out super great!! the k-pop videos are always fun to watch and as someone who gets overwhelmed easily in restaurants, it's super calm and not stressful at all. overall, 6/5 stars and i will be coming back:) read more

Le Saigon is a good choice of Asian cuisine in Hammond. The fusion of Vietnamese and Korean is unique and mostly everything is house made from their sauces to side dishes. Their food is pretty good with a large menu to choose from. My favorite items so far are the Honey Sriracha Glazed Chicken, Bang Bang Shrimp Lettuce Wrap, Combination Vermicelli, and Pho Dac Biet. I had their KBBQ once for dinner and it was a fun and delicious experience. I have always wanted to try their banh mi but it has never been available since I have eaten there for the past year. Overall, a good Asian spot for lunch or dinner in the area. The availability of Korean BBQ in the Northshore is awesome. There is already a scarcity of KBBQ in New Orleans. read more

If you want to be stressed out at a kbbq table, this is the place for you! First off, how are you gonna serve just 2 small bowls (honestly, you can call them half-scoops) of rice for a BBQ package that's advertised to be for 4 people? Second, how are you gonna have options on the menu and tell us we cant get the other option? (We wanted to have Galbi for our table but the owner said we can only get Bulgogi because they only grill Galbi in the kitchen???) Third, the owner would not leave us alone to cook and eat our food. At one point, she took the bulgogi (that she shoved down our throats to get instead of the galbi) and put it all onto the grill while we were waiting for a portion of it to cook. She did the same thing when it was time to grill the spicy pork. Fourthly, the banchan (sides) that came with the set is a joke, almost like they were being overly cheap about it. I am no "Karen" and I love to give a place the benefit of the doubt but girl stressed us out! And $170 later, we knew we arent coming back to this establishment. Overall, our most recent experience with this place was just terrible. All we wanted to do was have a nice, chill night and have korean bbq, instead we got a stressed-filled experience ontop the afternoon we already had. We are definitely taking the extra hour drive to New Orleans for a better experience next time. I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. When we asked to get a replacement or just taken off our bill (we took like 3 sips) the waitress said that since we drank out of it they couldn't take it back. Hi, I am a regular customer of Le Saigon. I have ordered the Fried Oreos for dining in many times and it has always been good. Today (08/15/24) is the first time I ordered To-Go. Ice cream everywhere I have ever ordered is always put in a separate To-Go container to keep from the warm stuff to keep it from melting.. fried oreos are warm.. so why was the ice cream put dead on the top of it. Looks disgusting and I tried to eat it and it was just nasty. I called the store and talked to a server and said she's going to ask what she can do. She then put me on a hold and her manager came back on the phone. Her manager (the older short Asian lady, I'm not sure her name) was being very rude, like yelling at me and arguing with me that I shouldn't have ordered it. I didn't raise my voice not once at the lady. But she said repeatedly that she's not giving me a refund or even a chance to get it remade. I told her that I don't think that's right because when a customer isn't happy, good customer service is being willing to fix things. The manager (the older short Asian lady) was very very very rude like the rudest manager I have ever talked to and I have no reason to complain because I'm a regular and love coming to Le Saigon but her attitude was disgusting and I don't want to go back. I tried to even ask if she could just remake it and I'll bring the other one back , she just cut me off saying "no no no I'm not doing that and I'm going to just take Fried Oreos off the to-go menu" I said okay (like that doesn't solve my problem) and she hung up in my face. That lady is rude rude rude and I was being as nice as possible because at the end of the day she is handling my food but I won't be going back because she just put a bad taste on Le Saigon. We never had Korean BBQ, but we are hooked now. When we went here the first time, we were not sure what to expect last year, but ever since then, we have been amazed. The service is extraordinary, but honestly, the best thing is the owner. When we did not understand things on the menu, or how it was prepared, she would go the extra mile and come over and explain things to us. (She was even nice enough to bring us a little extra of something we were not sure about, which we ended up ordering more!) ORDER THE BAO BUN! Their servers also go above and beyond and seem to always have a smile on their face. I highly recommend sitting at one of the tables with the burner, or whatever they're called, because that is a experience in it of itself. Was so excited to go here, what a disappointment. We sat at the tables with the grill in the middle... seemed like a fun way to have dinner. The sides that you get are minuscule, and very unimpressive. 2 tiny pieces of steamed broccoli with some sauce slopped on top of them. 3 tiny slivers of cucumber, a couple chopped up tiny pieces of fish pancake, etc. all absolutely forgettable and none of them I would ever want again. You get a good bit of meat to grill... But there's plenty of fat on it, and either marinated in a bland sweet sauce or with nothing on it. Meh. Service was lazy. And strangely, they have a lot of what I guess I would call 'rules'. You're not allowed to have a normal size to go box, because, "our manager wants to make sure people eat their food." Not sure why bringing me a bunch of small to go boxes makes any difference... But OK. Lazy service was explained by the automatic gratuity they add to your bill. We were a small party, and not told that was going to happen... Not OK. The building is nice but otherwise, there is way better food in the area, can't suggest that you go here. read more

I called Le Saigon, and asked if I could place a to-go order on a Wednesday at 8:30. The guy on the phone asked me to hold a minute, then came back to tell me the kitchen said they won't take my order. This is not the first time they've told me I can't order something simply because they don't feel like doing it. I once visited during lunch, and the owner wouldn't let me add a boba tea to my to-go order when I arrived at the restaurant. My experiences here have always been hit or miss, which is unfortunate, because the food is usually decent. However, because of service, Le Saigon is usually only a fall back option for me. It is very good food and I love but one thing that brings it down is the fact that if you don't eat at the hibachi table that you cook your food at, you can't order a few things. The ginger salad dressing that came with my meal was some of the best I ever had. The fried rice had a different taste but was good. It was $3 extra for the fried rice. My meal was $20 in total which is a lot for lunch. I don't feel like the portions were large enough for that price. My friend got the stone bowl with the Korean bbq.
