Non La - Com Suon Bi Cha Grilled pork chops, shredded pork, and egg pie served w. salad and white rice - Asian Fusion Near Me - Covington, Louisiana

My wife and I lunched at family-operated Non La in Covington and were quite pleased. Non La features Vietnamese-Asian Fusion cuisine, with a focused offering of original takes on traditional favorites, along with some truly innovative new dishes as well. Don't let the somewhat mundane strip mall location fool you, as there are some very good things going on here! We shared the fried calamari and crispy pork dumpling appetizers, while she followed with hot and sour soup and I, with the tasty Japanese pepper beef. All were very good, but the star may have been the dumplings, which were some of the best I've ever had. Service was friendly and efficient and prices were extremely competitive. If you like contemporary Asian fusion, you should really try Non La in Covington. read more

First let me say we love the Pho. However, we didn't order that tonight and the food sucked except the curry dish. I will never understand why a restaurant puts hot fried food into a styrofoam container. Crab Rangoon, trashed cause it melted that poison on to it. Chicken on a stick. warm outside and ice cold like it was thawing. So sauce, no flavor. LoMein barley any noodles, or meat, plenty of veggies though. If you don't like half cooked carrots don't get that. We will not be ordering again. read more

Every time I order food from Non La it blows me away. Its overwhelming with flavors ! This was to go order but here are photos read more

This lunch was exceptional! Even though their AC was not working at full capacity (which several workers apologized profusely for), it was a very enjoyable meal. The food was all delicious. The service was wonderful. And we even got personalized chopsticks to take home! We ordered: a side of pho broth, a hot and sour soup, 2 chargrilled pork vermicelli bowls, the three meat rice plate, a hot Vietnamese coffee and iced tea. The coffee was delicious! Both soups were great, rich in flavor. The chargrilled pork bowls were fresh and flavorful and the egg roll that came with them was very good. The fish sauce was a little too sweet but that's a minor issue. The rice plate was also great, with a very savory sauce. I would love to come back and try some different dishes. read more

Good service and looks welcoming. We both ordered the short ribs with rice and meat was very tough. Could not cut it with a knife, so had to pick it up with my hand to eat. The combo fried rice was nothing special. Had very little meat; we were very disappointed. read more

Clearly, the five star reviews were written by the owner. This place is far from being five stars. Ordered takeout. I should have known while sitting there looking at the inch layer of dust on seats/chairs. Eggrolls were completely saturated in oil and very small. Pad Thai had a strange flavor, had cubes of something that could not identify saturated in oil. Combination fried rice was anything but fried rice more like old vegetables in white rice no flavor with huge chunks of chicken on top and only a couple of shrimp. Something is very fishy that this place has a five star rating. Complete waste of money all of it went in the trash immediately. Diners beware... read more

Just moved to the Northshore from Memphis TN a couple months ago. We've been having trouble finding Korean food in the area. Found Non La on Yelp and tried it out. Even though their Korean options were limited, our Korean short ribs and pork belly was delicious. The staff are friendly and professional. Currently their business has been slow because of the construction on the bridge and road in front of their location. It's a bit of a challenge to get there but well worth the trip! Stop by sometime for lunch or dinner. You won't be disappointed! read more

Amazing!! Loved everything we ate. Restaurant is comfortable and clean. Staff is super sweet and attentive. Best milk tea ever. We ordered the chicken bao sliders and pork kushiyaki for appetizers and they were delicious. Cucumber salad is complementary. We got the Korean L.A. Galbi and Japanese Pepper Beef as entrees. Both were amazing. Huge portions for a great price. AND they gave us a free dessert to take home with us! AND they gave us chopsticks with our names on them Will definitely be coming back read more

I read through the previous reviews, and the review by Giovanni couldn't be more accurate. Strange flavor, indeed - I couldn't finish the meal and wasted my money. Also, please don't come here for tofu - it's very problematic. In fact, if you're a vegetarian, this restaurant is a bad option. I blame myself, because I kept trying a different dish each time, and I believed the other reviews. At least they are very kind. The food was absolutely incredible back when it was operating as Green Leaf, so I'm disappointed and I hope they make changes! read more

So we are traveling and thank goodness this place was open on Thanksgiving!!! Great food and great service! Very friendly staff and the gentleman in the front made our kids day with his kind gesture. The pho was amazing and the short ribs were delicious! read more

Excellent little Asian fusion restaurant. I had the shrimp spring rolls, Tom Yum soup and the Spicy basil beef stir fry. All very good and I will be going back. read more

Stumbled upon this hidden gem, and wow--what a find! Every bite was bursting with flavor! We had the Pad Thai and Bun Bo Hue, and let me tell you... the spice, the depth, the absolute yum--it was all there! Authentic, bold, and downright delicious. Already counting down the days until I can come back and try more! read more

We kept giving them chances on their deliver food. Gross gross! we have tried at least 4 times with them. Never again.. trust me! Maybe if you ate there it might be different. But UGH! Over half the order wrong, did not get the things we requested, like more sauce, or added heat. did not matter it would have not helped. Yuck, Charbroiled a joke, shrimp like rubber. Guess the people who like it do not have taste buds. Bye Non LA, you are NON to us now! read more

Service was great. The tom kha gai was not good. The soup was this khaki brown color with no trace of coconut flavor. Plenty of mushrooms and chicken, though. The pork Vietnamese bowl was decent, but big chunks of fatty meat. But, service was excellent. The young lady who waited on us couldn't have been kinder or more efficient. I'm just sorry the food wasn't better. read more

This place is a hidden gem. With all the construction, it's easy to pass Non La without seeing it, but it's worth seeking out. I rarely walk out of a restaurant and immediately start planning a return trip, but that's all that was on my mind tonight. Based on my meal this evening, I can't wait to try other menu items. It was so good. The service is absolutely great, they are very friendly and accommodating. And, to complete the trifecta, the prices are super reasonable and the portions are substantial. I'll be back. read more

Amazing service. Delicious food. Will return. Not busy at lunchtime, said road construction has really affected people coming in. Waiter was attentive, polite, friendly. He apologized when out of one of their desserts. Food was delivered fast, hot, tasty, large portions. Wide variety of menu choices. read more

Pan Asian menu, Japanese, Thai, a couple of Chinese standards (good version of the General) but their Vietnamese options stand out. My favorite Vietnamese dish is "bun bo hue" and their version is excellent. Hearty, meaty, just a spicy bowl of goodness. The place itself doesn't scream ambience but it's full of good eats. read more

We had a great lunch here on Saturday. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. The prices were very fair. Service was good. As for the food, the spring rolls and Tom Yum soup were excellent. Pad Thai was good but a little different than I like it. My wife had pork Bao and loved it. Glad we stumbled on it. read more

Great service. Comfortable atmosphere. Delicious food. We wanted something light and fresh and Non La fit the bill. We started with shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce. Portions were very generous. Delicious. For our entrees we e had Vietnamese bowls. One with chargrilled beef and one with chargrilled pork. Both equally delicious. Fish sauce was very tasty. Not your average fish sauce. I ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee. After my husband tasted mine, he ordered one for himself. We highly recommend this restaurant. I regret that the only picture I took was of my coffee! read more

My husband and I have been traveling/driving from Los Angeles on our way to Florida and I have been missing Asian food. Boy were we overjoyed to find Non La! I had the meatball Pho and it was the most flavorful broth (and we confirmed it did not have MSG in it - which I'm allergic to). It was delicious! My husband had the Panang Curry dish and he said it was also delicious and packed with flavor. The next time we pass thru, we will be coming back for our Asian food fix in the south here at Non La! Thank you Jo! read more

So good!!! Food is amazing owners are awesome we got a fun hat souvenir!!! We all got pho 10/10

A disappointing visit where the spring rolls arrived crushed and ruptured in the container, and the pho was served with rice noodles clumped together in a single, gummy mass, suggesting poor preparation and lack of freshness. read more

Place is new and it is very good. In house made egg rolls are the best I have ever had. Home made crab ragoons fantastic. The general Stos chicken is very very good. So the menu is very mixed Asian (Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese and Japanese) a little bit from everywhere all welled cooked. The Japanese pepper steak was delicious.
