I have a love/hate that they change their menu because I thought I did my due diligence and studied the menu and precious Yelp reviews to prepare what to order. But then the menu changed but it was fine bc Nico helped steer us to all the good stuff! We ordered a bunch of dishes and ate family style so we could try everything! The stand outs to me were the Pani Puri with the fiery mint water that you pour and lets you control the heat (you eat it in one bite), the Pork Dan Dan Buco Di Creste noodles (we asked not too spicy, we're getting older! Haha ), the Gulf Shrimp Pakora, and the ice cream pie from Lucy Boone! Mister Mao is where the old Dick and Jenny's restaurant used to be across from Rouse's on Tchoupitoulas. It's a little pricey but so worth it for a fancy night out!! And ask for Nico, he's the best!!

We came here for gals brunch a few months back. I loved the energy here. The staff, the bartender,…read morethe waiter are all quirky and fun. The decor kind of matches that energy. And so does their 'pics of cats' all over the menu. I am a cat person, so that won me over right there. They were running the special for a family style meal for $54 ++. You get to try so much, we decided to get 3 since there were 6 of us. I enjoyed the food more than the cocktails. The coffee cocktail was really not good and possibly my least fav coffee cocktail in the city. I think it needs a revamp. The ingredients are basically hoodoo chicory, it just tasted like all bitter. I didn't order any other drinks after that. I did try the gals drinks and they were all just ok. As for the food, I think the clear winner was the garlic noods. Not only did every slurp theirs up, fighting over it, almost all of us ordered a garlic noodle to go! That was top notch and I still thinking about that today! The dumplings were good, the shrimp was better than the rice dumpling. I enjoyed the ginger salad and fried chicken. It was an interesting fusion of flavors and a very fun atmosphere to be in. I will absolutely be back for the drool worthy garlic noodles.

It's a small space, so I highly recommend making a reservation if you don't want to wait. To start, we ordered the Paloma and lychee cocktails--both refreshing and perfectly balanced. We also tried the Monkey Snack and Stoplight rolls. If you're into bold, complex flavor profiles, the Monkey Snack is a must. Sweet, tangy, and packed with flavor--it hits every note. The Stoplight roll brings just the right amount of heat thanks to the jalapeños, and the fish is incredibly fresh. But the real star for me? The curried dumpling broth. I seriously dream about it when I'm not in NOLA. It's so rich and flavorful that I almost finish the broth before touching the dumplings. Absolute comfort in a bowl. The tuna rangoons weren't my favorite, but still a solid dish. Overall, a staple spot for me anytime I'm in town. Consistently delicious with creative dishes that leave a lasting impression.

We opted for "Feed Me" and Chef always delivers really fresh seafood and creative flavors. I'm still not over the flounder that they made look like a flower- (see pic). Stunning presentation. We got a couple hot dishes too. I enjoyed the golden nugget- three good sized crispy fried shrimp balls served with delicious blueberry aioli. The hot splash noodles were tasty and sharable. Do get the trio of ice cream if you've got room- the ube cheesecake was my fave flavor. The sake pairing with feed me was also nice touch. Overall great value for quality and portions. Looking forward to our next visit.

We got there a little before they opened but since it was raining they let us in and we waited off the side until they officially opened. Let me start by saying the restaurant is gorgeous! The ambience was grown and sexy and definitely gave fine dining. The waitress was pleasant and gave recommendations because I had no idea what to get. We got the bread to start and OMG that bread was delicious! It was buttery, with a honey flavor and 2 spreads to use. I wanted to eat it all but knew I had to eat an actual dish lol. My husband and I shared a small plate-the wagyu tacos. Lets just say I woke up thinking about those tacos I ordered a medium prime rib eye & my husband ordered a medium rare filet. His filet was perfect but my ribeye was overcooked. They made me a new one with no problem & were very apologetic. The new steak was more medium rare than medium but I still ate it and it was good but fatty. We shared the seafood mac & cheese which we both agreed was the best we had ever had. It was a huge portion so we ended up taking some home (didnt last very long after getting home). Lastly, we ordered the praline crème brûlée....another thing I woke up thinking about Im already thinking about the next time! 10 out of 10!

That being said, even though we were wearing casual tourist clothes we felt very welcomed by the staff. We enjoyed our experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was wonderful, the music playing, the staff was incredible as was the food. There was so much to take in as far as interior design. We loved it. We had some sort of steak, a starter and a salad. This was about a week ago, so I don't really remember exactly what we ordered. That being said the next night we tried a different restaurant with great reviews in the same neighborhood. The ambience was great there, but the food did not measure up. Immediately after that meal, we walked back to Morrow Steak to finish our trip on a high note. We shared the cauliflower starter again as well as a dessert this time - which was something I'd never heard of but incredible some sort of cheesecake that was purple. The first night we sat at a table and the second time we sat at the bar - and it was an equally wonderful experience. The bartender was extremely friendly and efficient. Again we were wearing casual clothes. Out of respect to the other patrons, I wish I had packed nicer clothes to wear but don't let this detour you if you didn't pack them. I wish this place was in my home town!

All of the food is priced extremely reasonable - I'd happily pay more for the meal I had today. The fried rice dishes offer a spice level choice ranging from 1 to 5. I had the Thai fried rice at a spice level 3... eating this dish was the first time I've ever tasted flavor in a fried rice dish. A 10/10 flavor profile from a dish I usually steer clear of. The restaurant was lit very nicely; warm, moody lamps on each table and dimly lit overhead lighting ran through the entire place. Everything was clean and looked nice! From the start, the experience was excellent--we were seated right away, and our server came over promptly to get everything moving. Although the restaurant was busy, it was comfortable and not overly loud. As always, the food did not disappoint. I had a cup of Tom Kha soup with chicken, while my husband ordered the Tom Yum soup with chicken. Both were perfectly spicy and absolutely delicious. We also shared a sausage appetizer, which was very good, and then split a shrimp and scallop entrée that was truly outstanding. I will definitely be ordering that again. I can't wait to go back.

Really nice meal before the show with my vegetarian friends…read more Recently a couple of friends and I needed to grab a quick bite. I thought we were going to another place when one of my guests suggested Thaihey across the street from the fire station on Decatur. Yes, sure. It's a typical Quarter restaurant with its long gallery seating. We were seated right away. The menu appeared to be heavily vegetarian which was great for my two friends. Many will understand the limited menu options for vegetarians at most places. Wes ordered Tom Kai, Becky the Massaman Jackfruit option and I the one with short rib. It was delicious. It was warm and comforting, full of flavor and the chef made it less spicy for me. What a delight to choose a menu option that I have never had and restaurant that I have never been to. You believe that I'll return for certain. Especially for that gorgeous Mai Tai!
