We waited for 10 mins on drinks while our waiter walked as slow as she possibly could to serve. When we did get our drinks there was hair in one of them floating on top (it was grey so definitely not ours) she took our order with no words except "are you ready to order" no "ok, yeah, what can I get you" or anything she just stared at my husband expecting him to order with no prompt too after me. After noticing her dirty hands and she even coughed in one of them before walking away from the table we left. We both had a bad feeling about the cleanliness. Ok brunch place. Food was adequate. Not great, not terrible. I had the classic eggs benedict and was underwhelmed. The ratio of ham (one giant piece across 2 English muffins) and sauce was off. Where to start? I usually frequent stacks or metro diner- but am always open to trying new places so decided to give Le Peep a try, BIG mistake. They nickel and dime their patrons in really grotesque ways. For example, I ordered my children adult sized drinks and when I requested a refill I was told they only give refills to adult drinks, exactly so where's my refill? The children drank the juice so the adult only rule applied there. WOW, but the fun doesn't stop there. When I ordered our pancakes- I asked if we could have one chocolate chip and one regular, was told by the waitress no problem there just will likely be a charge. When I got my bill they charged $2 for a few chocolate chips on ONE pancake. Are you actually kidding? Lastly, the eggs were runny and the French toast was undercooked but that is nothing in comparison to the poor service we received. read more

Specifically looked up restaurants near me that offer gluten-free brunch. I saw that some Le Peeps in other areas had full gluten- menus. while I didn't locate the actual menu online,. The location page on the Le peep website showed that the Charlotte location did indeed offer a gluten-free menu. I was thrilled they offered a gluten-free menu for my mother. However, I should have called to confirm this. They offered no such thing. They have a gluten-free waffle, and that is the extent of their gluten-free offerings. No gluten free bread for sandwich substitutions, no gluten free pancakes, no gluten free menu. This was our final lunch together before she went back home after not seeing each other for over a year. I was wanting to take her to a nice brunch where she could enjoy delicious food that met her restrictive diet. Sadly, Cafe Monte and Le Bon were both closed on Mondays. I found this place by happenstance two weeks ago and within that time I've had bfast there 4 times already. Price, service, quality and space are all amazing. It's nestled into a corner where you'd think its a tiny restaurant but it's quite spacious. Get there early as 3 time out of my 4 I had to get take out. Dear Le Peep, I am a New England girl who frequently winds up wandering around down South. I was passing through Charlotte, and I was in need of some premium breakfast noms. The eggs bene was delicious. I especially liked the "sassy apples." This inspired an inside joke which repeated itself endlessly for several days as my friend and I could not get over the idea that apples could, in fact, be 'sassy.' They do breakfast right. I went here this morning for ghee first time with my friend and our two 7 month olds. The service was fast and the food was very good. I ordered a broccoli and cheddar cheese omelette which came with potatoes and buttered toast. The omelette was a little smaller than I'm used to and a little dry, but it was good. The potatoes were mostly good but some were burnt. The toast was buttered, which is important to me. I appreciate when they do that work for you. I ordered my son a single pancake... It was huge! I ended up eating over 90% of it and can only describe it as a giant fluffy sugar cookie-- which is a good thing. I'll definitely be returning. read more

This place is great. People here are friendly, the food is excellent and speedy. I especially love the Eggs Benedict, probably the best in Charlotte. My two favorite breakfast chains are Original Pancake House and LePeep. They are tied. The skillet dishes at LePeep make me drive numerous miles out of the way to hit a restaurant. If you're looking for a solid simple style breakfast this is the place. It's not going to rock your world but it isn't going to leave you questioning life choices. Had breakfast here on Saturday with the kids. We got seated right away although the place seemed very busy. My executive summary of the place is this: - The food is just regular breakfast fare, nothing special. I had the Spinach Omelette which was OK but really just like any other Spinach Omelette somewhere else. - The decor and resulting atmophere is bad! Le Peep is pretty Le Great. I really enjoyed my meal here as I'm a huge fan of breakfast anytime of the day. I had a egg white omelette and it was delicious. I did however have a couple drawbacks to mention unfortunately. First was the time it took for visits to the table. A little too much time in between visits created an issue where I literally had to go to the host station to request my check and pay for my bill. The server was great mind you, but maybe overloaded. Secondly, the salsa given was pretty hot, temperature wise. I'm not a fan of hot salsa and I prefer it cold because the tomato dices don't disintegrate that way. On the plus side, if the weather is nice it's a real treat to sit outside and soak up all that is suburbia. read more

Just discovered this incredible place. The wait staff are sweet and friendly, super efficient and quick. There was no wait time, food was out in less than 10 mins. They have a plethora of lattes and cappuccinos with different flavors. (ex. Cinnamon bun latte!!) The have an override menu with upscale food. Low prices and awesome all around. read more

For the amazing location this place has, and the number of tables full, I had high expectations. However, I thought the food here was just ok. The staff was very friendly and the menu had plenty of what looked like great selections, but when my food arrived, I was disappointed. My "breakfast potatoes" were dry, and a bit tough. It's like they'd been baked, then fried. Whatever it was, the texture was all wrong. My egg dish was bland and a bit watery from the veggies in it. It just created a kind of soup in the bottom of the dish, not very appealing. My meal wasn't very hot, and even the toast seemed off, like the bread was already slightly stale. The coffee was good and the prices weren't bad, but in search of breakfast, I'll keep searching. This place just didn't do it for me. read more

Skillets...... yum! I like all breakfast places, but any place that can pull off a decent skillet moves to the top of my list. They have all the usual breakfast items (benedicts, egg platters, etc), but, IMO, their skillets are what separates them from other breakfast joints. My favorite = The Wanderer or The Mega. My daughter loves the chocolate chip pancakes (duh). Wife loves their Belgian waffles. Staff members are friendly. Wait staff hustles. The arrival and check out processes are a little kooky (meaning there's not much space to wait when you first walk in, which happens to be the same place others are lining up to pay after their meal), but other than that, this place works for us. read more

We made the mistake of going out for brunch at 2 pm, which seems to be the a no-no in Charlotte. So I see this sign that says "breakfast served ALL day" and I figured out perfect! Our first visit there (and last) I'm trying to figure out the menu. I ask the waitress "it says here all scrambled eggs" can I have sunny side up instead?". She says "Of course, anyway you want them other than hardboiled!" Five minutes later I decide to order the "dawn breaker" special with fried eggs, the waitress says"no that one is only available with scrambled eggs and you HAVE TO hurry up because the kitchen closes at 2:30" "someone could have let us know before they sat us down, outside it says ALL day" she answers "but it doesn't say dinner!" Good move dummy trying to win an argument with the client. I tell her ok but I want the eggs lightly scrambled not well done. And of course I got scrambled eggs so overcooked they were hard enough to be hard boiled, and the bacon was MIA from the plate and the country potatoes were frozen. The reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 is because when I told the waitress that no, the food was not good she got the manager who came over, inquired and adjusted the bill. It still came to $11 for a salad and two coffees but I was not in the mood to go over the bill. When I stepped outside there were several dark grey streaks of grease from the seat on the back of my left calf, luckily I was wearing shorts. WTH that really takes the cherry. read more

I tried this place for the first time today. Pros: - Quantity of food: When they say two large eggs come with the meal, they mean it. I thought it was like 3.5 eggs. - Service: They were pretty fast for a Sunday morning. The server told me the corned beef hash came from a can which allowed me to make the informed choice not to get it. Cons: - Their signature peasant potatoes could have used some seasoning. They tasted dry. Maybe I caught them on an off day but they have potential. In fact, most of the food could stand some seasoning. Verdict: I would go here again. The pancakes looked really good. It's about the same price as Cracker Barrel with larger servings and less flavor. Better seasoning would have garnered a 4-star rating from me. read more

I would love to give this place a better rating given that it is in my local community, but I just can't. I have been there about 3 times now for breakfast, trying different things each time and it just keeps disappointing. From the Biscuits and gravy to the Breakfast burrito (which says includes Chorizo, but that is some funky looking and tasting Chorizo) it is just an overall bland and half hearted attempt at breakfast. Nothing taste fresh made. It must all come from pre-packaged previously frozen boxes. The ambiance is just a mediocre place to have breakfast/lunch. Nothing on the inside has an aesthetic appeal to it. They do have a little bit of outside seating, but even it is old run down patio furniture that is going to leave some sort of stain on your clothing. The staff is just "OK" they get the job done, but there isn't a rush to provide timely and quality service. Again, this place is just not that good for the price. read more

I love and crave their food so much that I wish they were open 24 hours so I could indulge any time I want! I've been eating and bringing my out of town guests here for breakfast, brunch & lunch since 2004. I've come to love some things that may not still be on the menu but can still be requested such as the Banana Brown Sugar pancake, the California Turkey Pita sandwich with grilled chicken instead of sliced turkey. I also often order my omlettes as a "mini" since they are usually too big for me to finish. I can't get enough of their Gooey Buns and bottomless carafes of coffee! Their biscuits and gravy just ain't that good. All I kept hearing is "You gotta try the biscuits and gravy". Save yourself and don't. The omelettes are good - you won't go home hungry. I wish they had hash browns but they have home fries. Expansive menu could get confusing and time consuming if you can't make up your mind. They leave a carafe of coffee on the table - that's a plus. It's actually kind of expensive for a breakfast spot. Go early or call ahead on Sundays. It gets packed - people like their breakfast here in the South. read more

I really enjoy le peep. It is a great place to stop and get some tasty breakfast and their down home sausage pie skillet is the tops. The service every time I have been here is always fast and friendly and the prices are a little on the premium side but since the quality is so high you are getting what you pay for. They are only open from 7-230pm every day so don't drag your feet getting here. I can't really say enough good things about this place since the food is so awesome. The only thing I'd caution against is that if you are looking for a sunday breakfast/brunch get there early since it is usually packed out. read more

Decided to go here for a quick lunch because we'd heard so many good things about it. The menu sounded really great and we had a tough time deciding what to get but we both ultimately ended up disliking what we ordered. The chicken panini was tough, dry and had barely anything in it. The southwest salmon wrap was just plain awful. I couldn't finish half of it and my boyfriend couldn't even take a bite. It was very mushy and tasted awful. I waited for the waitress to come over to tell her I couldn't eat it but she only came back to clear our plates. When she asked if I wanted a box because I didn't eat it I told her "no, I didn't like it". To which she just said okay and brought the check. She didn't offer anything to make up for it. My daughter drove 30 mins there and 30 mins back to get a pickup order to surprise me with brunch from a place that we hadn't tried before. She said she paid for the order. The hostess at the pickup counter walked away, came back with her order and started asking her what she did with the receipt. My daughter let her know that she did not give her a receipt. The hostess apologized as she found it and handed it to my daughter to sign. The hostess told my daughter her order were just the two bags. My daughter grabbed the two bags and came home. Once home she realized an item was missing. Upon calling back, the lady answering the phone told her the item was beside her bags and she didn't get it. She offered to have them ready if she came back or to talk with the manager. My daughter asked to talk with the manager since it would be an hour (there and back). The manager basically gets on the phone and tells my daughter that she doesn't know what to tell her because the item was beside her bags on the counter. My daughter let the manager know that the hostess told her it was just the two bags and she did not grab anything else since there were other customer orders alongside of hers. So the manager just hesitates and said again, I don't know what to tell you. The customer service from the hostess wasn't the best but definitely expected more from the manager to at least try to make the situation right, especially knowing a customer made an hour total commute to support your establishment. Once we finally started eating, we found a couple pieces of styrofoam in the fruit cup which she paid extra to get. We looked at all the other styrofoam containers to see if perhaps it came from one of our boxes but the other boxes weren't missing anything. Of course we did not bother calling back since they did not even attempt to provide decent customer service during the first call. The food was just ok. Definitely not worth going out the way for again, especially with the subpar customer service. We will not support this establishment ever again! read more

Not the restaurant's fault but it didn't make my first visit pleasurable. Now the food... I waited more than 15 minutes waiting on my Café Vienna.. when my food finally arrived..it wasnt what I ordered. Once the correction was made, first bite is flavorless. The only flavor I received was from the hollandaise sauce. Apparently the chef had saltitis because there wasn't a trace of seasoning in my food. Huge disappointment. Will I visit again? I seriously can't think of any breakfast/brunch joint better than Le Peep. I literally always get the drifter skillet because it's so good and can't imagine even trying anything else. The coffee here is even really good and I'm extremely picky when it comes to coffee. Now although you might have to wait 10/15 minutes in the small area in the front it's totally worth it for the amazing food, great service and all around atmosphere! Thumbs up!!! read more
