I've been to this shopping center several times & never knew about this location until now. I stopped by last night (11-8-21) to get a drink as a snack. I had no idea what I was going to order. The young man at the register not only greeted me & was pleasant, but he gave me a suggestion that didn't include a lot of sugar, which is what I was looking for. He suggested the lychee punch w/crystal bubble. It was right on point & hit the spot! Looking forward to going back & trying a different flavor.

I love Kung Fu Tea Arboretum! I have been getting boba there for years now. It always hits the spot. My favorites are the milk teas. The staff has been always very friendly and helpful. The inside has some seating to wait to get your boba. There is also tables outside. I've recommended to a couple friends already!

I don't like beans in my drinks, not even MUNG FU If you brought the tea, it's already been BRUNG FU If you're seventeen, sorry bae, but you're too YOUNG FU But if you want Lemon Black Tea, you come to KUNG FU! It makes some of the rivals taste like eating cow DUNG FU It's at the top of the ladder, while you're on the lowest RUNG FU You'll love if you're easy going, even highly STRUNG FU So if you want a Lemon Black Tea, you come to KUNG FU I tasted it and screamed so loud that I collapsed a LUNG FU I carried on screaming and sounded like Angus YOUNG FU They played Sting on the radio, but I'm already STUNG FU By the wondrous Lemon Black Tea they serve at KUNG FU I went to the toilet, opened Snapchat, then I SUNG FU Came back, took my pants off, and the girls yelled "HUNG FU!" In walked Barbie and immediately I'm SPRUNG FU And you should come and get a Lemon Black Tea from KUNG FU! WHAT Truly lovely Kung Fu tea location with some genuinely wonderful employees. They were perfectly willing to make me a Lemon Black Tea off menu even though it's no longer on their menu, and what's more they did a "Buffalo" and charged me almost half price for the drink because they weren't sure how to ring it up. Great service, and just pretty generous people. They had no problem taking my photo on a couple of occasions which you now see attached, and they have a bathroom for people to use, as many KFT do, which I took advantage of, and was nice. They didn't give me any attitude even though they had been trying to clean the bathroom and mop the walkway to the bathroom - and no I didn't just go in there to take selfies, I have to use the bathroom a hell of a lot. Because I drink a lot of water partly. And by water I mean Boba. Anyway this is a lovely KFT, and it's by far my favorite KFT location in the Carolinas, and one of my favourites on the East Coast. It's just so hard to get out here - that's the only problem. Far out of the centre of Charlotte and nowhere near any highways. As for what to order: What to get: Lemon Black Tea With Tapioca! Or: All the fruit teas are pretty good, especially if you go off menu and get black tea! Or: Go crazy and order your fruit teas with the very strong Oolong! Or in winter: Any of the hot milk teas! Which milk teas are best: Honey Oolong! Oolong! Maybe Taro or Almond! I also love the regular milk tea with Oreo! Generally speaking, Kung Fu Tea scores 5, which is a huge compliment, considering that it's a massive international corporate chain, whose milk teas don't match up to the best chains: Sharetea, Gong Cha, Tea Top, and Coco. However, they're still really good, and the fruit teas here are among the best. Especially the lemon black tea which absolutely rocks my world. If it's not on the menu, demand it! Other fruit teas (Orange, Grapefruit, Pineapple) must also be ordered off-menu as Black Tea instead of the meh Green. Also the Lemon Black tastes good as a Lemon Oolong, but everyone else hates it because they have bad taste. The one annoying thing about the chain is the corporate office (they're sketchy) and their rule that no drink can have its tea altered. Anyway let's get some food to go with our Bubble Teas. I'm feeling kung-ry. So if you have nothing to do And your partner won't give you a screw I know something better And very much wetter Get Lemon Black Tea from Kung Fu!

I always order Cocoa cream wow with milk cap but the last 2 times I've been, it's not tasting the same as usual. It tastes bland. :(

I wanted coffee milk but they said they didn't have coffee. So I got rose hip tea which taste like raspberry but it is fine. The biggest thing that upsets me is that the boba is hard in the middle, maybe not cooked enough?

We typically go to tea fusion near university and its amazing. Today we had Kung Fu tea delivered and 4 different kinds just to try....I neither me nor my partner could make it past a few sips. I had the oolong milk tea with boba and it literally tasted like straight fish.

Almond milk tea with boba made with honey! This tea shop is incredible with delicious boba tea drinks!! Boba here is made with honey, they have wonderful flavor combinations. I tried the Almond milk tea with bobas and made it 50% sweet based in the owner's recommendation. You can adjust the awesome sweetness by percentage & they use cane sugar. Also every drink can be lactose free, just ask. You can also customize how much ice you want, which affects the flavors too. I had a medium and it was a generous portion. (They have the ability to make the drinks hot also for cold weather.) The Almond tea was a subtle flavor of almonds and gently sweet with milk and the bobas are like little bubbles of awesome flavors. I have had boba tea in NYC & this tea reminds me of those delicious flavors. The owner told me they're a NY based company! I highly recommend trying this place when you crave a cold drink. The servers can recommend a drink based on your tastes. Excellent service!! They have an app too which lets you earn free drinks, thinking I will download it today. I definitely want to return & try another dozen drinks!! They have listed an oreo milk strike that may be my next treat!

I am a huge fan of Bubble Tea, I recently discovered it a couple years ago. I am glad that Charlotte has to offer many different types of bubble tea spots but Kung Fu Tea is where it's at! Taro, Honey Milk, and Green Tea are few of my favorite flavors. You can't go wrong with either of them. I do have to admit when you take your first sip of the tea it's really sweet. But after that you get used to it and it doesn't feel as sweet anymore. Luckily, they let you adjust your sugar in percentages (they use raw sugar cane, excellent choice). Unfortunately, this spot is so deep down Charlotte that I probably won't get to visit as much as I would like. Please bring one to the Huntersville Area!

taro milk green tea, unopened and a lot of it is gone

I've been going to Kung Fu Tea ever since they have opened and I was a regular. I even worked here. Today I placed a pick up order and when I got home half of the top part of my drink was gone. I know that part of that reason is the foam for this drink but from what I recall, you have to scrape the foam out before pouring the drink into the cup and sealing it. I have no hate to this place but when I come home and see that a lot of my drink isn't there it's just upsetting. I do really love this place but after working there and seeing this when I get home is disappointing.

I remember when Charlotte used to not have any bubble tea places, and now it has many more options and even the best, Kung fu tea. Kung fu tea is definitely the king of bubble teas, no doubt. It was 8:48pm, they close at 9pm on sundays and the guy at the register was waving customers away saying they are closed. Also says no more bubbles by 8:40...even if they need to stop serving at 9pm, they should take customers until 9p. This store has Kung fu tea swags, sweatshirts, cups etc. But the size of the store is extremely small, don't expect to come here and work, there is no table. There are some bar stools. Has a bathroom at the back. The guy taking order is pleasant enough, seems like this place may be Vietnamese owned. Location is next to Malay kitchen. Either way, so glad Charlotte has a Kung fu tea!!!

Very disappointed with this Kung Fu tea. I've been to a few ones before & they are normally great. But this one wasn't that for me, no milk substitutes since they serve it with lactaid milk. I was hoping that it would remind me of the Tampa location I used to visit while I lived in Florida. But it honestly tasted watered down. Won't be visiting this location anymore.

I can't believe I've been missing out on this place all this time! This is one of the many small businesses tucked away at the Arboretum. Despite the COVID-19 quarantine, this place has managed to stay open and only ask that customers order ahead on their app. Their app offers rewards for frequent visitors and isn't too difficult to use. Not only do they have several drink options to select from, but you can also customize your drink by choosing your preferred level of sweetness, your preferred amount of ice, and your preferred toppings (if any). I had their Kung Fu Milk Tea (Medium is $3.50) with pudding (50 cents extra) and boba (of course!). They are currently having a special with free boba in all drinks. I also tried their Pineapple Slush (Large is $5.25). Both were absolutely delicious! The Pineapple Slush was very refreshing with the perfect amount of sweetness. The Milk Tea was a little confusing to order on the app because the options provided for selecting your type of milk tea consisted of both numbers and letters without any explanation. I asked one of the staff members about this and even they had no idea what it meant! She said it didn't matter anyway, "just pick the first option." Or, apparently you don't have to select anything so simply leave it blank. The app has multiple ways to earn "bubbles" for rewards, mostly involving use of social media and buying more drinks. I'd definitely recommend this place!

Ask the Community - Kung Fu Tea

What are the sweeter teas and punches?

Most of the punches are pretty sweet but you can adjust the sugar level as you like. Try mango greeen tea or lychee punch. If you add boba it’ll be a little sweeter bc they are soaked in honey.

Does Kung Fu Tea offer vegan options?

Yes we do. All of our classics, punches, and good portions of our slushes are vegan.

Biscuits and gravy are a southern staple and rarely have I had any that were really good, except here at Vicious Biscuit. Biscuits are their business. The most important elements are the biscuits and the gravy. Additions are many and varied, but if the basic two items are not both excellent, you will have a disappointing experience. The Vicious biscuit is the size of a hamburger bun. It is soft and there are bits of spice in the dough. These biscuits do not fall apart, but stay together and serve to soak up the wonderful sausage gravy that is poured on top of it. You can order just a biscuit with gravy for $8. And if you are timid, start here. Otherwise, there are add-ons like very good fried chicken, shrimp and grits, ham, pulled smoked pork, crab, bacon, fried shrimp. fried eggs and other combos. Super choices, so take time to study the menu which is extensive. Portions are great, very generous. I had their Vicious ($12). It was their Cheddar jalapeño biscuit, crispy fried chicken, maple sausage gravy, cowboy candy, with maple syrup drizzle. I was hesitant as to the maple syrup, but it is just enough to give accent to the gravy, but not super sweet. Wife had Fried Green 'Maters ($9.50) which were four fried green tomatoes, their signature pimento cheese with a pickled okra garnish. She could not eat it all, so I helped finish off the lone tomato and a bit of the cheese. Very good. Vicious Biscuit is more that a meal, it is an experience, even a journey, through this traditional southern staple, biscuits and gravy. Enjoy the trip. We might see you there.
