The matcha spot is located in the heart of Charlotte Uptown and tucked away inside a business building at 200 S Tryon. Wasn't too hard to find although there was construction happening at the time so I had to follow the signage. The location itself is rather small with 5 or so small tables and chairs. The matcha flavor options were quite plentiful and unique - biscoff, birthday cake, pineapple cinnamon, to name a few. I decided on the banana pudding (hot) which wasn't on the menu but came highly recommended by the barista. Price point was rather high for this one clocking in at $8 and some change. I chose to signup for their awards program and gained 9 points. Will be in town for a week and may acquire enough points - 18 to get a free one. The hot servings come in 12 and 16 once sizes and the cold versions offers up to 24 oz.. The banana pudding itself was pretty good overall and I would be interested trying some of the other unique flavors. There are also various flavored coffees m, loose tea and pastries also available. Didn't checkout much of the office building itself but a restroom available on the premises if needed just ask the barista and they will provide access.

Looking for matcha? This may be the only place around downtown that serves a variety of matcha drinks and ube dessert. A ordered the Gotcha Matcha latte with skim milk. A little sweeter than expected, but decent drink. Thought it was a bit pricey at almost $9 for a small matcha latte. Located inside of a Wells Fargo Tower. There is minimal seating inside but if you wander outside you'll see more tables. No restrooms. There is a rewards program if you sign up with phone number. Staff was friendly. I'll have to come back to try the Ube Cinnamon Roll!

We loved Gotcha Matcha & Espresso. The matcha is excellent. I got the ube matcha. My husband got the Dubai matcha. We each really enjoyed our beverages. I asked for my ube matcha not to be really sweet. It was perfect. My husband loved the flavors of his. He is not a huge fan of matcha. The fact that he really liked it speaks volumes. The service was wonderful. The gentleman that made our matchas was personable, knowledgeable, and made our beverages quickly. Gotcha Matcha is located inside of a building. There is signage on the street. There are a few tables next to the bar where you order. Also a table or two right outside of where you order. The tables are small. I would not suggest for a large group. They are great for two to three people. Or of course grab beverages to go!

I am a HUGE fan of anything that involves authentic matcha. When I saw signs outside pointing toward a corporate looking building that said "Gotcha Matcha", I knew I had to follow. The matcha here is authentic. I will say, my latte was on the sweeter side. In order to really taste the matcha, I'll ask for less sweet next time I'm in town. Cute cafe inside a big building. They also have some pastries like ube cinnamon rolls

I can't say I'm much for matcha, but I do enjoy a good latte and you can get an excellent one here. They are located inside an office building that is currently undergoing some construction/facelift. Don't let the construction stop you from poking your head inside and finding this cute little spot. They have some fun latte flavors like Dubai chocolate and snickerdoodle. The baristas are friendly, and it's a little pricy but I don't mind paying a bit extra to local over a chain. Overall it's a solid option for those Uptown work coffee breaks.

Chill Vibes. Great Music. And Polite Staff. Come and try it out. I ordered the Blueberry Matcha 20oz. Up next is the Pina Colada!

Gotcha matcha does matcha right. It has the standard selection and also some flavored option. I tried the pandan and it was very unique. I also tried the coconut water apricot and tamarind refresher. Such a creative combo and quite unique also. Friendly. Indoor seating. Casual. Please come and create your own adventure.

Let me start by saying that I DO NOT like matcha. I am a big tea drinker, but for some reason I have never been a fan of matcha. With that being said, I first tasted Gotcha Matcha at a Yelp Elite event. And I kept going back for samples. I promised myself that I would check out their actual location. While it took me wayyy too long, I finally made good on that promise. My daughter is a big matcha fan, so I brought her with me. We lucked out and found a parking spot on the street near the building. Although it's located inside another building, there is plenty of signage to help direct the way. When we arrived, there were a few people enjoying drinks already at the little cafe tables. There was one young lady taking orders and making the drinks. My daughter wanted the strawberry cheesecake but they were out of one of the syrups needed. So she had a plain strawberry. I ordered the Pina colada. We both got medium sizes. My drink definitely tasted just like Pina Colada! It took me awhile to drink the whole thing. I would probably just get a small next time. But for the first time ever, I drank an entire cup of matcha (and enjoyed it)! Before I left, I made sure to grab a selfie in the cute mirror on the wall.

Gotcha Matcha & Espresso is a cute lil cafe inside of a main office buidling. I was in Charlotte for a quick trip a few months back and, of course, I had to get my matcha fix. After a quick search on Yelp, we found Gotcha! Eric was the barista and he was a burst of energy right from the moment we walked in! HE was bubbly and super helpful when trying to decide what to get from their variety on the menu. We ended up getting The Panda (pandan matcha) and To the Yams (ube matcha), plus couldn't resist the ube cinnamon roll. The drinks were cute and The Panda even had a cute matcha art atop it. The cinnamon roll was pretty good but came out super late. It ended up being ready and nobody remembered to give it to us. After we were waiting for a bit, we asked if they had it and were confused but found it after some time to give to us. The space itself is cute but on the smaller side, being just a small cafe inside of a building. Overall, a cute spot to grab a matcha if you're near.

In Charlotte visiting and stumbled on this gem. I tried matcha once before and wasn't a fan. I decided to try it again here and loved it. I actually ended up getting one to go as well so I could refrigerate it and have it the next morning. Highly recommend this spot! Plus the owner was working the corner while we were there and his customer service was great! Definitely a coffee shop I would tell anyone to go to for coffee and matcha drinks. This place was awesome!

I had recently tried this drink at another Haraz location and loved it so much that I officially considered myself a matcha drinker. When I received my drink, I noticed it looked much pinker than it had at the other locations I'd visited. I assumed it had just been mixed and that the usual layers of matcha, strawberry, and whipped cloud had blended together, so I didn't think much of it. However, after taking my first sip in the car, it immediately tasted like strawberry milk. Since I was on my way to work, I kept drinking it, expecting the matcha flavor to come through, but it never did. It was disappointing because the drink was nothing like the one I've had several times at other Haraz locations. I hope this location places an emphasis on training and consistency so the drinks meet the same standard as the rest of the Haraz locations. On a positive note, the staff members were kind, welcoming, and greeted me as soon as I walked in.

I'm not a coffee drinker, so when I find something I like, I tend to stick with it. On my way to work this morning, I ordered an iced Biscoff latte. After a longer-than-expected wait, I was handed a Biscoff matcha instead. When I pointed out that it wasn't what I ordered, I was told this location doesn't carry the Biscoff latte, so it was assumed I meant the Biscoff cloud matcha. That response was honestly more confusing than the mistake itself. A latte and a matcha are completely different drinks. If an item isn't available, the expectation should be to let the customer know before making it--not to guess what they might want instead. From there, the interaction became frustrating. I explained multiple times that I don't drink matcha and that the Biscoff latte is really the only coffee drink I order. Rather than simply acknowledging the misunderstanding, I felt like I was being encouraged to accept the matcha or choose something else. By that point, I had already made it clear that I didn't want another drink. Honestly, after explaining that several times, I would have much preferred to just receive a refund instead of feeling pressured to settle for something I knew I wasn't going to enjoy. Since I was already running late for work, I eventually agreed to a salted caramel latte just so I could leave. As expected, it wasn't for me, and it ended up going to waste. It was a frustrating experience that ultimately cost me both time and money. I do want to give credit where it's due. The two ladies working were kind, polite, and clearly trying to help. My complaint isn't about their attitude--it was about the lack of communication and the way the situation was handled. A simple, "I'm sorry, we don't carry that drink at this location. Would you like to try something else?" would have prevented the entire experience. Additionally, if they can make a salted caramel latte I don't understand why they couldn't make a biscoff latte. I've always had positive experiences at the other locations, so this visit was especially disappointing. I hope the staff receives a little more training on communicating menu differences and confirming substitutions before preparing an order. I'd like to give this location another chance eventually because I've had such good experiences elsewhere, but after this visit, it probably won't be anytime soon.
