Tried the strawberry macchiato today and it was so good! I got mine with extra matcha, soy milk, less sweet, less ice, and added the matcha cold foam on top. Definitely go less sweet because the strawberry puree at the bottom is plenty sweet on its own. Also love that there is no upcharge for soy milk! The matcha cold foam is super thick and has a rich, bold green tea flavor that doesn't taste watered down at all. I drank it layered first to get the fruit and foam separately, then stirred it together into a creamy strawberry matcha blend, it went down way too fast! I had the pina colada matcha over at their 400 S Tryon spot which was super refreshing, but this strawberry matcha definitely is the winner for me. Super cute interior here with plenty of seating to chill for a bit, too. The owner was wearing the panda head behind the counter and was so welcoming, he was cracking me up rapidly reading off the whole menu to help another customer decide what to order. The matcha spot is located in the heart of Charlotte Uptown and tucked away inside a business building at 200 S Tryon. Wasn't too hard to find although there was construction happening at the time so I had to follow the signage. The location itself is rather small with 5 or so small tables and chairs. The matcha flavor options were quite plentiful and unique - biscoff, birthday cake, pineapple cinnamon, to name a few. I decided on the banana pudding (hot) which wasn't on the menu but came highly recommended by the barista. Price point was rather high for this one clocking in at $8 and some change. I chose to signup for their awards program and gained 9 points. Will be in town for a week and may acquire enough points - 18 to get a free one. The hot servings come in 12 and 16 once sizes and the cold versions offers up to 24 oz.. The banana pudding itself was pretty good overall and I would be interested trying some of the other unique flavors. There are also various flavored coffees m, loose tea and pastries also available. We loved Gotcha Matcha & Espresso. The matcha is excellent. I got the ube matcha. My husband got the Dubai matcha. We each really enjoyed our beverages. I asked for my ube matcha not to be really sweet. It was perfect. My husband loved the flavors of his. He is not a huge fan of matcha. The fact that he really liked it speaks volumes. The service was wonderful. The gentleman that made our matchas was personable, knowledgeable, and made our beverages quickly. Gotcha Matcha is located inside of a building. I can't say I'm much for matcha, but I do enjoy a good latte and you can get an excellent one here. They are located inside an office building that is currently undergoing some construction/facelift. Don't let the construction stop you from poking your head inside and finding this cute little spot. They have some fun latte flavors like Dubai chocolate and snickerdoodle. Let me start by saying that I DO NOT like matcha. I am a big tea drinker, but for some reason I have never been a fan of matcha. With that being said, I first tasted Gotcha Matcha at a Yelp Elite event. And I kept going back for samples. I promised myself that I would check out their actual location. We lucked out and found a parking spot on the street near the building. Although it's located inside another building, there is plenty of signage to help direct the way. My daughter wanted the strawberry cheesecake but they were out of one of the syrups needed. So she had a plain strawberry. I ordered the Pina colada. We both got medium sizes. My drink definitely tasted just like Pina Colada! It took me awhile to drink the whole thing. I would probably just get a small next time. Gotcha Matcha & Espresso is a cute lil cafe inside of a main office buidling. I was in Charlotte for a quick trip a few months back and, of course, I had to get my matcha fix. After a quick search on Yelp, we found Gotcha! Eric was the barista and he was a burst of energy right from the moment we walked in! HE was bubbly and super helpful when trying to decide what to get from their variety on the menu. We ended up getting The Panda (pandan matcha) and To the Yams (ube matcha), plus couldn't resist the ube cinnamon roll. The drinks were cute and The Panda even had a cute matcha art atop it. The cinnamon roll was pretty good but came out super late. It ended up being ready and nobody remembered to give it to us. We stopped in for a quick drink one morning while staying at a hotel a couple of blocks away (if that). I'm not a fan of matcha but I was VERY intrigued by their latte options so we walked right over! The signage outside is very helpful when trying to figure out how to get in here. We walked, but there was street parking open nearby! The barista was super friendly and the spot was very clean! I went with a small dubai white chocolate iced latte and Burns H. went with the iced mocha. We agreed that both of them were some of the best coffee drinks we've had in the area! Best matcha yet!! I've been on a matcha kick lately and this is easily my favorite of the handful I've tried. The flavor was so good and the consistency absolutely perfect. The strawberry was sweet but not overbearing! Came here on the Fourth of July so it was virtually empty, but the barista was super friendly and provided great recommendations. I called on the 4th of July to check hours and got a call back less than a minute later letting me know that they were operating on regular hours. Points off the bat for phenomenal customer service. Let me start by saying I'm matcha obsessed--drink it everyday obsessed. My best friend who was with me, however, tolerates it at best. That said, we both LOVED our drinks. In truth, I was worried that the flavors might be too intense and compromise the flavor profile and integrity of the matcha, but I need not have stressed. Gotcha Matcha has got flavor balancing down to a science. I had the iced panda matcha with oat milk. Made with pandan, it added the perfect sweetness to my drink and a lovely, vanilla-y, slightly floral profile to the matcha, which only elevated it. My bestie went for the Dubai chocolate matcha and she was obsessed. It was truly all she talked about for the rest of the day. I tried it and it was quite good, just slightly too sweet for my tastes and not my personal cup of tea. That said, I'm biased as I don't really enjoy chocolate. We also split the ube cinnamon roll which was perfectly soft and had a delicious rich flavor. It was like nothing I'd ever tasted before and, again, the balance of the ube was bang on. We would've gotten another one if it wasn't the last one. The cafe itself is cutely decorated in vibrant greens. It does fill up, but it never felt cramped. Gotcha Matcha is a coffee spot like no other! It's located in the Coterie Concept in South End. Which is a super adorable wine shop in the evenings. But during the day Gotcha Matcha operates in this space and I highly recommend this place for great coffee, pasties, service and vibes! I went during the week and ordered the ube cinnamon roll and the ube cookie. They warmed the roll up for me to eat there and it was absolutely amazing! I ordered the Caramel Matchiato and it was exactly what I thought it'd be -- Iced matcha with caramel drizzle (unsure if it had caramel syrup though).
