Waterbean has very good coffee. I grabbed an iced latte and drank it very quickly. They also have a small food menu. They are located right next to the Kimpton hotel. Great space to either work or hang out. It also appears like they are local chain because I do see them in other parts of Charlotte. Please come and create your own adventure. read more

Waterbean Coffee I stopped in for an iced latte with cold oat milk and condensed milk and wow, it was so good! The mix of creamy oat milk with that touch of sweetness is absolutely perfect. You can really taste the quality of their espresso, smooth and rich without any bitterness. The drink was balanced, refreshing, and honestly kind of addictive. The vibe inside is relaxed and modern, great spot to work or just chill. Friendly service, quick, chill, and welcoming. Highly recommend. read more

Really cute space...very cozy and delightful. The serve decent espresso too. But seriously...the employees could not possibly care less about their customers. Three people behind the bar and everyone was too tragically cool to be bothered to take an order. It was something out of a movie. Oh...and almost twice as expensive as any 3rd Wave coffee place I've been to. There's plenty of great coffee places Uptown. Next time I'll skip Waterbean and opts for anyone else. Thanks! read more

I grabbed a quick latte after a workout class as I was heading back to my hotel. I got there shortly after it opened so it was just the barista and me. I had been warned the coffee was strong but I found my vanilla latte to be delightful and the barista got it out quick. The space is large and cozy. Seems like a perfect spot to telework. read more

I stopped in on my way back to my hotel! My hubby and I love coffee shops and cold brews have become our favorite coffee of choice! I ordered the cold brew with white chocolate syrup and cold foam! The cold foam was thick and sweet, just as like! The coffee is definitely STRONG! I can handle it. The service was friendly, quick and helpful. We were in town for the Charlotte marathon and came here for coffee. They weren't doing food because of the crowds - but the coffee was great. I got the snickerdoodle iced latte and my girlfriend got the peppermint bark latte. Both were very good and fun festive flavors. Overall a good spot! Always order a cortado at coffee shops I've never been to so I can get a good taste of the espresso and feel out the milk texture, both were good here! Inside is a nice quiet vibe with light music in the back, a good place to work/ study from. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because while the service was quick it was super surface level and didn't feel like the baristas were really paying attention to me more of just chatting with each other. First of all: I am in love with the interior! If I were still in finals mode, I would definitely be here studying the day away. It was not too crowded on the Friday morning we attended. The thing I wasn't so in love with was my drink. I ordered something along the lines of an iced matcha and I was surprised that it was almost grainy in my mouth. It was almost like I could chew the matcha if I tried, which I have not ever experienced before. It definitely had more of a healthy taste to it, so I'm not sure if that was the vibe it was going for. I would have to try more of there drinks to assess, but I would try again just for the ambiance if I'm in the city! read more

Spacious interior. On point with a coffee shop vibe. Mellow music, but they didn't upgrade for ad free. The ads were a bit distracting and loud. Coffee was good. They had a lot of variety and seasonal selections. They had a food menu and some sweet treats as well. Adjacent to the cashier is a grab and go counter of sorts for more packaged items. Just like the other Waterbean in Uptown, it's clean and staff is very friendly. I like that they offer non-coffee drinks. They also offer pastries and baked goods that are delicious. They also have a small order window outside that you can use if you don't want to go inside. There is plenty of seating to hang out and work. read more

Had a great experience here! Not too far from the airport! Love that their iced drinks come in a cool glass! Asked for a "for here" mug because I love drinking my lattes in a mug. It came with a beautiful design. Their croissant breakfast sandwiches were perfect for what we needed. read more

Stumbled upon this spot while checking out Charlotte, NC. My friend got the honey lavender latte and I got a lavender hot chocolate, both with oat milk. Best hot chocolate I ever had!! In Charlotte for the first time and there are definite treasures and this is one of them. I ordered a iced Americano with an extra shot and oat milk-excellent. Their blueberry muffin tasted home made (not super sweet which is what I prefer) and the nova lox was decent-lots of smoked salmon (only preference would have been nice if they asked if I wanted my bagel toasted-but no biggie). Overall a decent little coffee shop and would recommend. read more

These folks are the REAL deal. :) Best teas are worth waiting for. I do like that they offer real ceramic cups if you choose to stay in - but if they don't feel like washing them, you can expect a papercup regardless. Love the different bakeries they must engage to do the sweet treats. Would strongly recommend those macarons! How about we get some cronuts in there? read more

Their oat lattes were really good! The coffee is not acidic and has a smooth finish. Brownies were also good and the wrapping helped it last longer! Reason for a 4/5 and not 5/5 - My friend got the peanut butter drink and felt that the flavor could be much stronger. He remarked it tasted like a watered down drink. :( read more

My review is based SOLELY on the uptown location. I absolutely love love love Waterbean Coffee...so much that I've visited the Metropolitan location so many times. I live in uptown, and go to the Metro location...kind odd don't ya think? Well, anyways, I visited the uptown location for the first time ever last week on a random week day. I normally get iced coffee, but because it was so cold outside, I figured why not get a warm coffee drink this time. The place was so homey, and I really loved the location. There was only 1 barista working that day, and she made my drink really quickly (Regular White Mocha Latte). The latte was delicious, but I could barely taste the White Mocha flavoring. I didn't give it much thought, just figured this is what the hot lattes taste like. Fast forward to a few days ago, on Saturday morning, I wanted to get my iced white mocha latte like I always do at the Metro location, but was running out of time and decided to go to the uptown location. There were 2 baristas this time, which would make sense considering it is probably busier on weekends. I had ordered my regular iced white mocha latte, and about a few mins later, one of the baristas calls out the order but it was a hot latte. Not an issue, I told him I had ordered an iced, and he fixed it right away. After my iced latte finally came out, I had noticed two things. There was SO MUCH ICE & again I could barely taste the flavor. What I love about the Metro location, is that they put less ice & the flavor is blended in with the coffee that even if the ice waters down the coffee, you can still taste the flavor after being watered down. I was very disappointed TBH, but again, that doesn't change my opinion of Waterbean. I will just avoid the uptown location for my coffee. Still recommend Waterbean in general though & get an iced white mocha latte from the Metro location! It does not disappoint!! read more

Me and my bf were walking around downtown CLT and decided that we should grab some refreshments and this placed looked reassuring on the outside and inside so we were like why not? I decided to order an iced matcha latte with oat milk and vanilla syrup and my bf got an iced coffee. When I first took a sip of my matcha it tasted really grainy and was just thick to swallow. My bf iced coffee tasted watered down no matter how much he tried adding creamer and sweetness for some flavor. The lids used on the drinks were terrible and kept leaking and whenever we tried sipping our drinks it would just spill all over our clothes. We just got severely disappointed and over it we tossed out our drinks that were almost $20. NOT WORTH IT. read more

Customer service is easily top notch. I don't say that for most venues I've visited, affiliates and non affiliates. While I consider their coffee really good it's the customer service (the staff) that makes the coffee and atmosphere as amazing as it is. Please never change waterbean. Great customer service is a quality most establishments don't value. Making it an almost lost art. Great customer service is what keeps people like me coming to a place that values it just as much as me. read more

The area was clean and the cute interior makes for a good social media photo op. The menu has good variety and explorative flavors that encourages repeat visits. I got a Mango Milk Tea and was not disappointed. It gave a Mango Lassi vibe and was very refreshing. My only downside was the bottom of the drink tasted gritty and had a white residue left at the bottom. Also, I initially wanted the drink with light ice and this was my first encounter at a shop that charges extra for light ice (45 cents). Not a huge deal and I understand that companies incur more costs for light ice or no ice. Maybe I could justify the additional charge for getting the drink without ice, but I still wanted ice---just not a lot of it. I just would've like to have been told about it or seen some signage about the additional charge since the toppings and other add ons are listed out. I could've missed where it was listed out, but I don't think I saw anything written out. Nonetheless, after a few healthy gulps, I was sad that the drink was gone. I would come back to try other items.

I read through some of the other reviews and I want to set the record straight. Yes, it's inside a church but there is a separate entrance. Yes, there are Christian books but also other genres. Yes, the coffee is very affordable BECAUSE all the staff are volunteers. No one is getting paid and they LOVE what they do. All smiles and great service. The proceeds go to local and global missions of the church. Win, win all the way around. The place itself is very spacious. Two levels. The seating areas are comfortable and far enough apart you can have some semiprivacy if you need it. My friend who brought me says she comes here all the time to study (she's in college). All of the staff knew her by name. (love places like that) I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't really speak to the coffee (although my friend says it's pretty good). I am a tea drinker though and they have a variety of flavors, some refresher juice drinks, a few pastries. Please support. Every now and again if you're thinking of getting coffee or a pastry, choose them. Why not? Do some good for the community through others who are committed to giving back.
