Chicken Cheesesteak
Jenna B.

I had never even heard of this place before finding it on Yelp and I don't know how that's possible! It was so hard to make a decision because all of the sandwiches sounded amazing. I decided to try the chicken cheesesteak with French fries. I don't even know if I was more impressed by the sandwich or the fries. Those fries are easily some of the best I've ever had. Thin, crispy, and seasoned to perfection. My husband and I shared the Large Fry and it was a perfect amount to share. (Although, if I'm being honest, maybe next time we'll each get our own Large, lol.) Our order was ready super fast and my sandwich was piping hot! I opted to add hot peppers too, which really sent it over the edge of deliciousness. The Medium size is pretty huge, so of course I got to enjoy the second half of my sandwich the next day and honestly, I just ate it cold and it was just as good. I seriously cannot wait to come back here and will be recommending it to everyone I know! They weren't lying when they said they're voted best in the USA!

Always a good sandwich. A bit pricey, but a nice splurge. Service was great. Store was clean.

Charlotte has a gem on their hands with this one! fresh sliced turkey and all their food is genuinely fresh! I ordered ahead and when I got there, I expected to wait, but the service was EXCELLENT! the restaurant was clean, and well lit, and very easy to navigate. I will be back and I hope they open one in the city, it would do well, and I am sure they would stay busy!

A great restaurant with a great owner. We have placed multiple catering orders and they have helped us customize everything to our needs. Including changing our order the day beforehand. Their grilled sandwiches are delicious. The French dip is my favorite! Although the chicken cheesesteak and grilled Italian are also delicious. They have the best sugar cookies I have ever had! Definitely grab one next time you go!

Grilled Italian sandwich with black olives

This was my first time trying this place out. They close at 9pm and I walked in at 8:30pm. They already had all the chairs up and were mopping the floor. They said they were expected to leave by 9:15pm. I explained that it was my first time trying this place and the guy working there was very friendly and helpful. He even let me try a small sample of the meat of the sandwich I was considering. A+ for Customer service. I asked for extra black olives and he delivered. He up-sold me on a combo and I got a side salad and drink to go with it. ($19.70 total) I ordered a medium 10" Grilled Italian sandwich. You can get it warm or cold. I chose warm. The sandwich was decent, but I kinda miss all the sauces you can put on top at other places. I just got red wine vinegar and olive oil. Not alot of taste. I also like my bread toasted, not just warm. The side salad was very small but had good lettuce and cheese in it. I liked the chipotle dressing. The sodas are freely refilled via a machine yourself which is nice. There was one more customer that came in after me, so not many folks coming in after 8:30pm like they said. Overall, a little pricey for what you get but ok.

American Wagyu Club

Holy moly, how is this place not huge yet?! We were in the area and agreed we wanted to grab a sub, but wasn't sure where. Capriotti's had good reviews and the pictures looked good so we gave it a go. Boy am I glad we picked it. We walked in and were somehow even though it was dinner time, we were the only customers in there. We quickly checked the menu and decided on what we want. We ordered and the staff were all very friendly. I paid and was a little surprised at how much it was, as two regulars and one order or fries ran me over $40. I ordered the American wagyu club, and just at first glance, I was impressed (even though I opened it upside down and it went everywhere). First bite took me to the moon. All the ingredients seemed fresh, the added peppers were nice and spicy, and every bite seemed like I got a little bit of everything. The French fries seemed like they were recently cut and fried in clean oil, not frozen or from a bag. I quickly went back on my prior apprehension regarding the price and actually was wishing I paid more for a full sized giant sub. This place was well worth the price and I cannot wait to go back when I'm in the area!!

Wagyu Cheesesteak

My first time eating from Capriotti's. I heard about them when I used to live in Philly but I never ate there. It's so many places to eat in Philly so nothing strange about that. Anyway I walk in and order the Wagyu cheesesteak and I must tell you. This might've been the best beef cheesesteak that I've ever had. No joke, I usually get the chicken or a salmon cheesesteak whenever I do get the craving. After ordering it took me at least 30 mins to get home and it was still the bomb, so imagine if you sit there and eat. Everything was great about the sandwich from the bread to the meat. Amazing sandwich, I believe I got the large and it was $20. I also got the hot peppers next time I'll go a different route just to switch it up. I didn't see the type of sandwich I wanted which was turkey and roast beef but wagyu would work. I'll ask if they can make that for me next time. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Got a couple subs and was very pleased. Good meats and toppings. The roll was good quality with more crust/chew than Jersey Mike's.

Overall the fruit was amazing and fresh though, just a bit impractical with the pineapple. Now the biggest reason I was unhappy with their catering was because when the dessert was served, they cut very few pieces and had them on the table for guests to grab. That's great, but those pieces were quickly gone and nobody was serving more pieces and the caterer didn't leave the little dessert plates on the table for people to serve themselves either. Secondly, while we sat down for dessert, the photographers yelled out that they wanted everyone on the dance floor for a quick group photo. After the photo was taken, I get back to my table and me and my husbands dessert is gone. The caterer was clearing all the tables as we took that photo which was so annoying since it took me forever to get a plate of dessert to begin with! Anyway, the foods not bad, just the way a few things were done was definitely the most memorable part of the wedding for me unfortunately.

I ordered the Swahili Plate and it was fantastic--perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice that keeps things interesting without being "offensive". The beans and rice were easily my favorite part; you really can't beat a good bean! The hubby grabbed a wrap - the Grilled Chicken Chapati Wrap and was a big fan of his too. As a foodie transplant from the West Coast, walking into Reid's immediately reminded me of a…read morebeloved high-end grocer back home--something along the lines of Draeger's: beautifully curated, family-owned, and designed to feel like a destination rather than just a place to shop. There's a real sense of history here. From what I understand, Reid's is one of the oldest grocers in Charlotte, and that legacy shows in the details. The rich green tile, classic signage, and thoughtfully designed layout create an elevated, almost European-style market experience. It feels polished, intentional, and welcoming all at once. What stands out: * The store is beautifully merchandised and carefully curated with specialty and seasonal items you don't always find elsewhere. * The wine bar and café concept make this more than a grocery stop--it's a place to linger. I've enjoyed flights, tastings, and brunch on the patio, and each visit has felt like a small occasion. * Location-wise, it really depends on which store you're visiting. The SouthPark and Myers Park locations have easy, convenient parking, and there's also a newer location in Ballantyne (near Pineville). The Uptown locations, while not necessarily "easy parking," are incredibly walkable--perfect if you live, work, or have meetings nearby. If you're already Uptown, this is a fantastic stop to pick up elevated items for a beautiful dinner--think wine, specialty cheeses, or even something indulgent like caviar to round things out. One thing I appreciate is that Reid's doesn't try to be everything to everyone. It's not an organic-focused market like Whole Foods, and that's okay--it serves a different purpose. The clientele here tends to be people looking for specialty ingredients, elevated prepared foods, and a more curated shopping experience. Many shoppers probably visit both stores depending on their needs, and I find myself doing the same. When Reid's really shines: During the holidays and special seasons. Their selection of unique, festive, and hard-to-find items makes it a go-to for entertaining or finding something a little extra special. Overall, Reid's feels like a true Charlotte institution--elegant, distinctive, and consistently well executed. It's the kind of place that makes grocery shopping feel enjoyable again, and I'm looking forward to continuing to explore more of what they offer as I keep eating my way through Charlotte. Bottom line: A beautifully curated local market with history, charm, and a destination-worthy wine bar--perfect for specialty shopping, brunch, and seasonal finds.
