The large option for a cheesesteak on bed of fries has to be one of the greatest scams here. We ordered Cheat's OG on a bed of fries. On the left is a large and on the right is a small. Fries add 2 dollars so the large ended up being 23 dollars while the small was 14 dollars. Weighing both we came away with large weighing 554g and the small weighing 441g. I LOVE a good cheesesteak. There OG has Cooper Sharp, but I'm used to Wiz. I'm willing to try anything twice. I got the OG as is and Cooper Sharp was really good. The sandwich slapped all my tastebuds. The meat gave me all that comfort from the salty umami beef and slight sweetness from the onions. The seeded amoroso roll was baked crusty on the outside with a nice chew. My only critique is that it was more cheese and sauce than beef. I need them to take a page from Arby's and show us the meat. I loved the location as it sits right near a bakery and a juice bar however I think I ordered the wrong sandwich. Trying to be healthier I ordered the chicken Caesar sub. The cheesesteak was very good and meat was tender and well-seasoned with melted cheese. The Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak was smothered with cheese. I split the Classic Italian and Chicken Caesar Hogie . The Italian was our favorite. Layered with a variety of meats , provolone and toppings. I highly recommend the Cheesesteaks and Classic Italian. Saw this place as we were out driving around and decided to give them a try. Was a little before 8 pm. Only a few people in line at the time. Staff were helpful when ordering. I ordered the Cheat's OG with added lettuce (10/10) it was cheesy, fresh, and flavorful! Was only a few bites in and I was already saying how I should've ordered two. I also tried the Honey Sriracha Cheat's wings (8.5/10) they were cooked well and tasted good, but they seemed like only honey wings ?? No spice at all, which was a little disappointing. To drink, I got a Cheerwine soda; it was pretty good. Food took about 25 mins to be made after we ordered. They have seating on the side of the building where you can watch the staff making the food which was cool. I def will be returning again, the food was too good not to! 7/14 This was our first time here and we weren't disappointed. Parking is easy and they have a few tables and bar seating. There's a special on Monday's for Half Priced Large Chicken Cheesesteaks. We order that and a large seasoned French fries (they use beef tallow in fryers) and a side of cheese whiz. We got it with American cheese and added mayo & banana peppers. We sat at one of their covered tables and one of the employees even brought it out to us. Everything came out super fresh and flavorful. Presented nicely - a good mix of thin ribeye steak mixed "wit wiz" and grilled onions. Plenty of it and I cleared the bowl. Absolutely delicious combination of beef and cheese and soft onions. The flavors just gel. Good service and a clean restaurant. They do not have a dining room - a few tables outside, some have umbrellas and some do not. Being native to PHL this is the closest you'll get to a real cheesesteak in CLT. Cheats is delicious! They use ribeye and cooper sharp so clearly they know a thing or two about cheesesteaks. The fries and wings were both incredible. The fries were seasoned well and the wings I ordered extra crispy with sauce to dip them in on the side. Without a doubt, I will be returning next time I'm in CLT. They do have a few spots you can sit outside on a nice day or in your car but I ordered to go and felt like it was still very fresh by the time l started eating it. Lastly, the service was excellent. Cheat's slapped when it was a pop up!! I've tired both b/m locations and they're subpar at best. The taste is still decent but size is much smaller and quality is downhill at a high price tag. We ordered ourselves on a tablet at the south end location and after a 20 min wait we got our food. Got a large truffle cheesesteak, small original cheesesteak and a fry. Cheesesteak bread was so soggy the sandwich fell apart. No chew on the bread. Couldn't hold up to the ingredients. Peppers had a good heat. Fries were room temp and tasteless. There are a few picnic tables outside, but this is just a walk up place. And everything was hot and cooked fresh and pretty fast considering the line, but honestly, the guy who took our order wasn't overly friendly. The bread was a standout: soft, flavorful, and sturdy enough to hold all the fillings without falling apart. Speaking of fillings, they were generous with the steak--plenty of it and perfectly cooked. The cheese on the classic sandwich was decent, but next time, we'll opt for American cheese for a simpler, creamier taste. The onions added great flavor to the original classic, though there were almost too many for my liking. We also split a large fry, which was more than enough to share. However, I wasn't impressed with the ketchup--it was an off-brand packet that lacked flavor. The fries themselves were decent, but a bit pricey, and the $2 charge for a small cup of cheese sauce felt steep. While the sandwiches were fairly priced considering the quality and quantity of ingredients, the overall meal felt a little expensive, partly because we over-ordered. The sandwich was spicy but not overpowering. Truly delicious and flavorful. The seasoned fries were crispy and, well, very good! This is counter service a - you either order at the window or online. I suggest online because we ordered at the window and it took a bit longer than we expected - not bad but if you're in a hurry it could be a problem. Didn't look at all like the papi's charlotte review on IG. Way less steak, way too much bread and the seeded roll wasn't fresh. It had that spongy tough texture when you leave fresh bread out for a day. The cooper sharp cheese and steak was good but for a cheesesteak over $20, you need to stay consistent.
