This place is really good!! I will say they do not have combos. You have to add fries separately. It is pretty expensive but the portion sizes are really good! I usually have 2nds (I'm a greedy person lol). I love their ranch !!! Comeback sauce is good as well! Make sure you order your spice level below what you usually. Medium is actually hot!

YES YES YES! This is the place for Nashville hot chicken! If it's between Dave's and here GO HERE! Now the service is fast, the food comes out hot butttttt they do not have real southern sweet tea. Thats literally the only down side bc everything else is amazing! The chicken is huge, juicy, and the breading is impeccable! Be careful with the heat though! I am African and the medium was HOT! Lol but their ranch and the special sauce were *chef's kiss* to cool things down! It is at the food hall, so there is a lot of people, and finding seats can be hard on busy days. If you want something less busy, with more space and seating options, go on an off day or take your food to go and enjoy at home. Overall 10/10! Loved it! Had some coleslaw to help with the heat for those who like spicy - you will love it!

    Mild Chicken sandwich with fries

Holy. I rarely crave a chicken sandwich so I wanted this specific craving to be satisfied by a good one. Poppy Cox is located in Optimus Hall and at first I didn't wanna deal with the parking hassle. But this is the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The portion of the sandwich is insane.a girthy chicken breast indeed. The fries are fried with beef tallow, they are so good. If you're craving a good chicken sandwich. You gotta try this place. P. S. I tried the mild spicy. Was a really good intro to their sandwich. I'd def try medium next time if you like hot

This places is located in optimist hall and is a good option if you love Nashville hot chicken. We got medium and it wasn't too hot but paired really well with the pickles, fries and slaw.

Finally got to try Poppycox and it did not disappoint! Their chicken was fresh and tasty and HUGE! It's a little pricey but for the amount of food you get it's worth it. I was too scared to try anything hotter than medium but I will be back! Definitely a new favorite stall at Optimist Hall!

They're M A S S I V E! No cute snack tendys here. I got the Big Kids Meal and boy was it B I G. I got 2 Dino sized tenders covered in mild sauce with the best fries. They are crispy and well seasoned. I got the mild to temper the waters and it has a beautiful smokey kick. I'm such a ranch girl but theirs was more dill than ranch which I didn't care for. However, the comeback sauce quickly made up my initial disappointment. I ate this box for 3 days cutting each in half. I made a small salad beyond the airfreight reheat. Definitely worth the money!

Oof that was spicy! The chicken was perfectly crispy and the "hot" level burnt so good. Glad I ate it at home so I could drink a glass of milk. My lips are still burning and yet I would definitely get it again. The only odd thing I noticed while waiting for my food was someone else was offered a discount for being a first time customer but I wasn't offered or asked.

Supa hot and supa worth it

Visiting from San Diego I wanted to grab a bite at the infamous optimist hall. I stumbled upon Poppycox and decided to give it a try. WOW is all I can say. This is the best fried chicken sandwich I've had in my life. I ordered the second level of spice and it was just the right amount of heat for this west coast boy! The flavors are so explosive in your mouth with the contrast of sweet and spicy. The chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the pickles are a perfect touch. I also got an order of fries and they were delicious. This is definitely a place I would fly from San Diego to get one of these sandwiches again!

The chicken sandwich is the best around. The lil mild spice level was perfect for me.

Sometimes simple of the way to go. Lettuce, American Cheese, tomatoes, crinkled pickles, onions, and their "good good sauce." This all came together with the 100% premium angus beef (antibiotic and hormone free) smash-burgers perfectly cooked. The fried were very good, nicely crispy, but not overdone. Service was friendly and very quick. I highly recommend this place if you want a great burger.

Optimist Hall itself is a very food-centric, upscale food hall with a ton of vendors, so the atmosphere is energetic and fun. Seating can be a little challenging during peak dinner hours since so many people are grabbing food from different spots, but when the weather is nice there's plenty of outdoor seating. Harriet's keeps their burger formula refreshingly simple. It's a classic smash burger done right--made to order with a straightforward menu that doesn't overcomplicate things. There's usually a line, but it moves pretty quickly, and the burgers come out hot and fresh. One of the best parts of eating here is the flexibility of the food hall experience. While you're waiting, you can grab a craft beer, a glass of wine, or even browse for dessert from one of the other vendors. Insider tip: Come with a group if you can. It's a great place to share fries and let everyone explore different vendors around the hall. Parking is fairly easy with the nearby garage, which makes the whole experience even more convenient. Overall, Harriet's is a fun, delicious stop for a smash burger, especially if you're already enjoying the energy of Optimist Hall.

As a West Coast transplant now living in Charlotte, I have very specific standards when it comes to…read moreburgers. For me, the gold standard isn't fancy -- it's balance. Think that perfect meat-cheese-bread ratio you get at an In-N-Out: not too big, not too messy, not dripping everywhere, but still juicy and satisfying. A burger you can actually pick up and enjoy without resorting to a knife and fork like George Costanza. That's why I appreciate Ace No. 3. Their menu is refreshingly simple -- burgers, fries, shakes -- and that simplicity tells me they know exactly what they do well. Everything is made to order, and the consistency shows. The Ace burger is my go-to, and it delivers every time. The shoestring fries are excellent, and the sweet potato tots are another favorite. I've also treated myself to a milkshake here and there, and they're worth it. Fun bonus: they offer "boozy shakes" for adults, which adds a playful twist -- just note they have to be enjoyed on site. They also keep a short, rotating list of beers, which I appreciate. It's curated, not overwhelming. One thing I noticed recently -- and as a fellow marketer, I have to applaud this -- is their milkshake happy hour from 2-4 PM. That's a smart strategy to drive traffic during slower hours between lunch and dinner. Simple, effective, and well executed. A few practical notes: Parking can be a little tight because the lot behind the restaurant is small, but if you go during off-peak hours or order ahead for pickup, it's manageable. The Belmont neighborhood location is easy to get in and out of, and while it's not a high-traffic pedestrian area, that can actually work in your favor. Bottom line: As someone who grew up with West Coast burger culture, this is the closest I've found in Charlotte to that classic, satisfying bite -- even if it costs a bit more than In-N-Out. The quality and execution make it worth it. Get out there, eat well, be curious -- and follow me as I continue eating my way through Charlotte.

As soon as I opened the restroom door to wash my hands, there was a dirty mop bucket sitting right in the doorway. Then, when I got to the sink, there was a bulky item sitting in it, making it impossible to wash my hands. That alone was enough to leave a bad impression. What made it even worse was seeing employees sitting in the dining area on their phones with headphones in instead of paying attention to the restaurant. It gave the impression that cleanliness and customer service were not priorities. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because a clean restaurant and attentive staff are the bare minimum.
