Chicken wings Mac n cheese and potato salad.
Stephanie L.

Man.. I can't believe this is the same food truck, because the quality of food I ordered this time around is like night and day. The food truck came out to our complex and because of the awesome experience with my food from the event in pineville I had confidence that the food would be good. Well, I was wrong... I ordered the fried chicken meal with Mac n cheese and the fish and shrimp dinner with fries and coleslaw. Both meals went to the trash, the fried chicken was dry and the batter was thick and bready coming off the chicken, it was weird, the chicken was bland. Nothing like the wings I had from them before. That was so strange to me. The Mac n cheese was watery, it was nothing like the last time. It's almost like they used boxed Kraft Mac n cheese and used to much water. Gross... The fish was fried so hard and was bland and inedible, not to mention they literally gave me 3 pieces of regular sized shrimp. Fries cold and Cole slaw was bland. I spent so much money on that food only to throw it out. Before, I couldn't make sense of the bad reviews because again when I tried them at the event the food was really good, but now I can see they are inconsistent. I will say that the people that were in the truck were different this time, but sheesh it shouldn't make that much of a difference. Unfortunately, I'll never give them a try again because this experience over shadows my previous experience.

Went to this food truck for a outdoor park event in Charlotte recently. I must say this fried chicken was some of the best chicken I have ever had and I love chicken wings. It reminds me of when my grandma used to fry chicken at home. Full of lots of flavor and very very crispy. 10 out of 10! Next I had the Mac and cheese and that was really good as well. Again just great southern foo. Everything was so hot and fresh. The fries were just okay compared to the other two things but they weren't bad. The service was nice and fast. It takes time to fry chicken but it didn't feel like it was too much time. It wasn't very busy as well. The individuals on the truck were really nice as well. Overall a great experience. I wish I lived closer so that I could eat there more often!

There were several "reserved" tables that remained empty until after we had finished eating, so I think the restaurant could benefit from a better reservation system with more accurate buffer times to accommodate walk-in guests. To avoid the wait, we decided to sit at the bar, and I'm glad we did because the food was amazing. The fried chicken and waffles were perfectly seasoned, and the waffle had a unique texture and flavor that reminded me of a combination of a traditional waffle and a soft pretzel. The cheesy potato cake was absolutely delicious. The fruit bowl was also good, but I wish they had been a little more generous with the blueberry pudding. The shrimp and grits came with large tomatoes, which may not be for everyone, and my friend felt the dish was lacking grits overall. She didn't feel like she got her money's worth. Would I go back? Absolutely. My meal was delicious, and I can't wait to return and try more of their homemade, fresh dishes. I also think it's great that they partner with local farmers to help curate their menu.

Mac & cheese was alright. Cocktails were great. We also tried their champagne tender and it was super crispy and had the taste of champagne. Service was decent. Only downside is if you make a reservation online, you will not be refunded the $3 per person fee and it is also not taken off your bill.

Located inside an old chair, this place was amazing! Cool,…read morecasual yet elegant, service was outstanding and the food was really delicious and fresh. We came for brunch and they almost had to roll us out of there. They passed around oysters, shrimp cocktail and grilled pineapple with honey. Three different food stations: meat, vegetable and shrimp skewers was one; your choice of southern ham (prosciutto basically) or crab cake eggs benedicts was the second one and the third one I don't remember (mostly because I didn't quite make it there). In the middle they had lobster deviled eggs, assorted tea sandwiches and a small section with desserts. Everything was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. Yes, it's expensive but so well worth it!! Parking can be an issue but the good thing is, you can walk off a little of everything that you ate so that's a win!

They barely brought around food like the French toast bites. They kept bringing around oysters and literally no table wanted them that I saw. It wasn't that busy either, tons of empty tables. Instead they held off the arguably best dish of the house: French toast bites. We FINALLY got them at the end of our meal before we left but had to stalk the waiter for them. For $78 there should be way more rotations of the better dishes. Our waiter was great and atmosphere is gorgeous. Playing, food quality and everything was average. The highlight was the poached eggs, eggs Benedict, bacon, potatoes, skewers and everything else was okay. Not better than like Golden Corral or a standard buffet. My opinion is skip the brunch for that price, unless you really like oysters LOL. Also if I had little kids, would never waste money on brunch here.

They were out of a lot of dishes but we did get the trout. Short rib, calamari, hanger steak and some of their sides. Everything was very fresh and delicious. The wings were amazing, as well as the ranch I was a little hesitant to order the pork loin with this peach and arugula salad thing on top but I went for it and MAN was it excellent! I didn't take pictures of the sides but we also ordered the Mac & cheese and Yukon gold purée and they were some of the best side dishes I've ever had. The service was excellent. Now, the food was fire. I ordered the Fried Catfish with Shrimp Creole and honestly, it's the best catfish I've ever eaten in life. Tender, juicy, flavorful, and a delicious crunchy exterior. The Shrimp Creale was excellent as well, incredible seasoning and texture. My son also enjoyed his food, but after tasting my catfish he wished he'd ordered the same thing. We both loved the cornbread as well; it was warm, soft, and the butter just made it even better. We weren't disappointed but not overly impressed either. The restaurant was decorated with a lot of historical photos and memorabilia. Our server, Oyebola was ok at best, and we witnessed him being unnecessarily rude and nasty to an unhoused woman who came into the restaurant. But luckily another patron came to her rescue before we could intervene. The food was hot and freshly prepared, but honestly, it wasn't as tasty as we'd hoped. Soul food is hit or miss, but Mert's was good enough though....we had a meal with protein & veggies.

HIDDEN GEM ALERT!…read more And that's not an exaggeration: this is a pop-up inside the Forest Hill Church kitchen! How it works: Follow @so_science on Instagram, and they'll post the week's menu over the weekend. The themes vary every week, so keep an eye on it! You have until midnight on Tuesday to email them with your order. On Wednesday morning, you get an email with payment and pick-up details, and then you swing by the back of the church between 4 and 7 PM on Wednesday to pick up your goods! Pretty easy process, especially if you live close by. So far we've gotten dishes from their BBQ menu (brisket, bbq beans, cheese and mac) and their Greek menu (moussaka with side Greek salad, gyro with fries). Everything is restaurant quality. Let me rephrase: everything is excellent restaurant quality! Like what I would expect if I went to a BBQ joint or Greek spot that specialize in that type of cuisine. Pretty incredible. We originally found out about HA's from a neighbor, and I added this business page to Yelp to be able to share my photos and experiences to help spread the word about this awesome local spot!

I'm talking top tier, Veuve Clicquot Brut service...with a little spice...Best! He was so accommodating and keep us laughing the entire time. He went out of his way to make my day special! We started with beignets, oysters on the half shell and cocktails. Espresso Martinis, a Dirty Martini, and a specialty cocktail made to order. It may sound like a weird combination, but it all paired well together. I was in the mood for beef. So, I ordered the Wagyu Brunch Burger- 1/2 lb Wagyu, Over-Easy Egg, Grilled Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Hollandaise, Avocado Spread, Brioche Bun, Garlic and Herb Fries. The fam had the Veggie Ranchero omelet- Seasonal Beans, Grilled Corn, Pico de Gallo, Poblano, Cheddar, Avocado, Tortilla Strips, Ranchero, Chipotle-Lime Crema, and a Hashbrown Casserole. Fingerling Breakfast potatoes, with a side of bacon and eggs, and another Hashbrown Casserole. Everything was cooked to perfection. I had such a great time and can't wait to return.
