We came for brunch and they almost had to roll us out of there. They passed around oysters, shrimp cocktail and grilled pineapple with honey. Three different food stations: meat, vegetable and shrimp skewers was one; your choice of southern ham (prosciutto basically) or crab cake eggs benedicts was the second one and the third one I don't remember (mostly because I didn't quite make it there). In the middle they had lobster deviled eggs, assorted tea sandwiches and a small section with desserts. Everything was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. They barely brought around food like the French toast bites. They kept bringing around oysters and literally no table wanted them that I saw. It wasn't that busy either, tons of empty tables. Instead they held off the arguably best dish of the house: French toast bites. We FINALLY got them at the end of our meal before we left but had to stalk the waiter for them. For $78 there should be way more rotations of the better dishes. Our waiter was great and atmosphere is gorgeous. Playing, food quality and everything was average. The highlight was the poached eggs, eggs Benedict, bacon, potatoes, skewers and everything else was okay. Not better than like Golden Corral or a standard buffet. It is one set price for whatever you want to eat and you pay when you book your reservation. Drinks can be ordered while dining. While you can go around and at from the hot bar and cold sections, they will also walk around with oysters and French toast bites, to make a few. Everything I ate in this restaurant was truly good, even the cucumber sandwiches! The shrimp and grits are rich and indulgent. The mini crab cakes were mostly meat, hardly any fillers. We had a 6 PM reservation at Supperland on a Tuesday and had such a great experience. Parking can be a little limited since the restaurant does not have its own dedicated parking lot, but we were able to find street parking nearby. If you live close to the area, I would recommend taking an Uber or rideshare just to make things easier. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. It is located inside a renovated old church, and the atmosphere is gorgeous. There is also a patio and a separate bar area. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated right away. Our server, Thomas, was great and provided wonderful service throughout the evening. My friend had an extra dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, and I had a Grey Goose Cosmopolitan. The drinks were excellent. For an appetizer, we had six raw oysters with a sweet honeydew and kiwi flavor. I usually prefer my oysters with cocktail sauce and horseradish, so this was something different for me, but I really enjoyed them. They had a really nice sweet and savory flavor. For dinner, my friend and I split the branzino, which was grilled with fresh herbs and was delicious. We also had the wood oven Brussels sprouts and the mac and cheese, and both were very good. We had an amazing time at the Chef's table a few Sundays ago! The chefs table was very hot at first, as it's in front of the kitchens flame, but got used to the temp. Christy, our server and a Level 2 Somm was amazing! She helped guide as through our first visit. Hands down can say this is the best steak I've ever had. Better than any other steakhouse. The filet was perfect. We loved every one of the sides we ordered. I probably wouldn't order the caramelized onion dip again, it was not onion-y enough but the chips with it were fantastic. I've been seeing this place all over social media and decided to finally check them out. My daughter and I have birthdays 2 days apart and decided dinner here should be good! It's a cute restaurant with church pews, open space and a view directly into the kitchen. Cory was our waiter and he was nice and made great recommendations with it being our first time visiting. The food was excellent from the appetizer through dessert! Because it was our birthdays, Cory gave us complimentary macarons that were chef kiss just like our meal! We had a reservation at Supperland, and while they were running a little behind (understandably so with the bad weather and guests lingering longer), the team handled it perfectly. The manager, Walter, personally escorted us to the bar area and helped us find a couple of seats so we could relax with drinks while we waited. It ended up being such a fun start to the night, we watched the mixologist at work, which was really cool, and the vibe in the extended bar area was fantastic. Honestly, we could've stayed there all evening. Once our table was ready, we ordered several plates to share, and everything was incredible as always. The French onion dip is our favorite. We decided to bar hop one night and landed ourselves at Supperland. I think we got lucky, as they had one table open in the little offshoot bar area that night. Service was great! Friendly, attentive, and helpful with suggestions. Of course, it was beautiful inside. I loved the bright but soft lighting, the open vaulted ceilings, the wallpaper, and they even have plates made for them from England! Talk about details!! O M G This is the best brunch I've EVER had. The setting is an old church and they very much tried to preserve that vibe. It's a beautiful place. They even still have the 120 year old pews! If you ask your server, you are likely to hear the entire story of the place. It's pretty amazing. They recently received a Michelin recommendation and it's totally deserved. It's a buffet, but most of the hot food is actually served by a person which is something that I particularly appreciate. (I really don't like touching the handles of spoons that hundreds of people have touched.) Some of the stuff is self serve but not any of the hot dishes. Absolutely everything I tried was outstanding. Like everything. There are a few things that they consider "pass around" which means that they are brought over to you by a server at random intervals. For everything else, you just help yourself. I went with a friend of mine who has a deep appreciation for a southern food. He was absolutely amazed. My husband and I, my elderly mother her 90+ year old cousin and the cousins 74 year old mute and deaf son. My husband and I happen to be an interracial couple. I say that for demographic context and nothing else. Our specific server was AMAZING! She was sooo patient with our seniors and earned her $100+ tip on the teas and soda bill. The ambiance was underwhelming. It's in an old church and there were church pew seats. Other than the building structure outside zero wow factor. It was brunch and there were tea sandwiches that were dry and flavorless. There were desserts that left a lot to be desired. Pimento cheese and Cucumber tea sandwiches, flavorless and crunchy (stale). The only tasty dessert was the macaroons. A french toast shooter was amazing but it was being offered by a server it wasn't on a bar, table or hot service area. The sage sausage patty was nasty. There was a dish with grits and some type of meat that was tasty. The space felt cramped. The layout to get food and amply navigate was non existent. I guess my expectations as a native NC Southern girl was high for a good old Southern Bruch. I left thoroughly disappointed. I would never recommend brunch there. It was a joy to be seated along the bar as we got front row seats to watch all the orders come in through the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed the head chef calling out orders to the team members in the kitchen, to watch them fill countless orders and sending them out batches at a time. I already have an idea what I'll order next time--pork can can, cast iron corn salad and ice cream sundae. We tried the 10 oz. Prime Filet and wood oven brussels sprouts. While the filet was steeply priced at $86, it definitely was a tender and robust flavored cut! I loved that our girl, Marjorie, took back our brussels sprouts as requested to have prepared less charred. The atmosphere at Supperland is energetic and rightfully so!
