It has that warm, lively feel that makes you want to hang out and enjoy your time instead of rushing through the meal. We did a wine flight to start, which was a fun way to try a few different pours, and everything paired really well with dinner. The highlight for me was the whole roasted fish. Crispy on the outside, super tender inside, and really clean, fresh flavor. Simple but done really well. Service was on point too -- friendly, attentive, and helpful without hovering. O M G This is the best brunch I've EVER had. The setting is an old church and they very much tried to preserve that vibe. It's a beautiful place. They even still have the 120 year old pews! If you ask your server, you are likely to hear the entire story of the place. It's pretty amazing. They recently received a Michelin recommendation and it's totally deserved. It's a buffet, but most of the hot food is actually served by a person which is something that I particularly appreciate. (I really don't like touching the handles of spoons that hundreds of people have touched.) Some of the stuff is self serve but not any of the hot dishes. Absolutely everything I tried was outstanding. Like everything. There are a few things that they consider "pass around" which means that they are brought over to you by a server at random intervals. For everything else, you just help yourself. I went with a friend of mine who has a deep appreciation for a southern food. He was absolutely amazed. We had a reservation at Supperland, and while they were running a little behind (understandably so with the bad weather and guests lingering longer), the team handled it perfectly. The manager, Walter, personally escorted us to the bar area and helped us find a couple of seats so we could relax with drinks while we waited. It ended up being such a fun start to the night, we watched the mixologist at work, which was really cool, and the vibe in the extended bar area was fantastic. Really cute place inside an old church with lovely light fixtures. My friend and I went for the weekend brunch buffet and felt it was overpriced. We tried almost everything and nothing really had a wow factor and did not feel like we ate $80 worth of food. The bread for the Loaded Tea Sandwiches was dry. For the main we split the Wagyu Pot Roast, Miso Mac & Cheese, and the Glazed Covington Sweet Potato. The pot roast was delicious and is so tender it just melts in your mouth. The mac and cheese is delicious and the sweet potato was unlike any other I've ever had! My husband and I split all of this and it was the perfect amount of food. Although I've heard about Supperland a few times, I never made a plan to visit until recently. I learned that, when making the reservation for brunch, patrons are required to pay for the entire bill up front. There's nothing to pay when you dine unless you purchase a few extra drinks, for example. Parking wasn't too bad. We parked across the street and paid less than $5.00 for 2 hours. After a short walk to the restaurant, we entered and were seated pronto. The restaurant was beautiful and it wasn't too loud. The pineapple starter arrived, which was a nice touch. As we visited the different food stations, servers everywhere were walking around the dining room with raw oysters, shrimp cocktail, and cinnamon rolls. The oysters were sooo fresh, so I ate one each time a server brought them to our table. The shrimp cocktail was better than average because the cocktail sauce had a big, spicy, burn-your-nostrils and clear-your-sinuses kick. The cinnamon rolls were served room temperature but they were still melt-in-your mouth rolls. Our waitress was a nice lady who barely spoke over a whisper. Even with perfect hearing, we had to strain and read lips to understand what she was saying. She still got the job done though. We enjoyed the experience so much, we returned one week later, again for brunch. Supperland is pricey, so I'm not planning a third visit anytime soon, but I definitely want to check out their dinner in the future. read more

Beautiful place! I'm excited we finally tried this place as I'd heard great things. We went on a Thursday night and it was extremely busy! Reservations can be hard to come by. To start, we ordered the roasted oysters and sausage croquettes. Presentation was beautiful. I don't know that I'm dying to get those items again but they were pretty good. The caesar salad was fantastic. It was better than your average salad. We ordered a number of entrees, including the pot roast, pork can can, and the branzino, but the branzino was the shining star. Whatever sauce they included complemented the fish well. For sides, we had brussels sprouts and broccoli. We loved the brussels sprouts. They were cooked perfectly. Really good. The hostess went out of her way to keep us at our beautiful chefs counter seats and I couldn't be more grateful. We got the Wagyu Pot Roast and Roasted Poulet Rouge with Mac and Cheese and Crispy Smashed Potatoes for sides. It was a great combo. The chicken was a tiny bit dry but very food flavor, mac and cheese went well with it. The Wagyu Pot Roast was nice but i wish it had more flavor, and the potatoes were a perfect side for the roast. The dessert was the highlight for me. The Cherry pie was the best Ive had, it came with a almond cream that I would eat by spoonful on its own. After dinner we went next door to the bat for a drink where we chatted with a super friendly bartender and had some amazing drinks. The drinks we tried wre Intergalactic Love Affair and Maybe Tomorrow. Both drinks have layered bold flavors and amazing aesthetics. Had to have two rounds!
