We're visiting from Miami and a friend suggested we check out Camp North End because they thought we'd love it... wow. What an experience. The vibes are everywhere. Food, music, kids running around, games, activities, there's so much going on and the place is HUGE. Someone told me it's around 700 acres and honestly, it felt like it. We got there a little later in the day so a lot of the stores had already closed, which was the only downside. Definitely gives you a reason to come back because there was clearly so much more to explore. We'll absolutely be returning next time we're in town. read more

This seems to be an attempt to be an outdoor version of Optimist hall. Lots of small food, coffee, bar and shops that are connected via outside walks. It does not seem to have the popularity of optimist hall yet, but it is a good concept. We got coffee here and tried later that evening to get ice cream, but most everything closed up fairly early. This place has got a variety of resteraunts, bars and outside hangout spots. And I adore the semi vagabond, casual vibe it has. It's good for families, friends and couples. And it's in a perfect spot, right on Stateville drive, near North Graham. It's literally where Oaklawn Avenue and Statesville interconnect, which Is only about a half a mile from uptown. Wow... where do I even start? I was in town visiting family and one day my sister and brother-in-law said we were coming here to meet friends for lunch. At the time, I had no idea what I was walking into. They made it seem like it was some type of foodhall with multiple restaurant options to choose from, but goodness, it is far more than that! From the moment we arrived it blew my expectations out of the water. I would describe it more like a complex. Not only is there an indoor space with a ton of vendors serving everything from sushi and empanadas to fried chicken and pasta, but there's also a small market place, art studios, locally owned shops, a beautiful outdoor space, interactive elements, and more. There's seriously so much going on that there was no way we had enough time to explore it all. Knowing that, we stuck with the food. I decided to order sushi from a vendor located inside. I wish I could remember the name of it, but unfortunately they aren't on Yelp yet. As soon as I remember, I'll be sure to add it, so you can find it. Everyone in my group decided to get something different and we were all pretty happy with our decisions. Along with my sushi I had to get some mochi donuts from another spot inside. My sister and brother-in-law had never had one and I simply could not accept that. I got two and both were colorful and flavorful. I seriously cannot wait for my next visit to Charlotte because I would love to come back and explore more. I have been here a couple of times as there's a coworking space that I use. This is an interesting space that was originally a Model T factory back in the 1920s and then was used by the US Army to assemble missiles during the Cold War. The space still feels very industrial but it's been updated and adapted into offices, meeting spaces, bars and hangouts. All sorts of open air play spaces, farmers markets, live music and the Keswick food stall / pop-up area. Some of the parking is free, some is paid. This was my first time going to Camp North and I loved it. It has yummy cultural foods, diversity and music as well as a spay good for kids and adults to relax on an afternoon or noght. There are so much to see and activities I gotta come back for sure. There is a restaurant that has pickle ball courts inside !!! So fun! Space with huge blocks for hide... I mean I almost don't want to advertise so it doesn't get too crowded. What a great concept and great place! I specifically came on Wednesday evening for live jazz. I checked the website and their social media to make sure it was still on prior to going same day, and everything looked good. I got there an hour early so that I could walk around some of the shops. Unfortunately the jazz band never showed, so I got another drink and went home. It's a great vibe and I like all the art everywhere. Someone I spoke with there did say sometimes the scheduled events or music just don't happen, which is disappointing. I will return for the ice skating in December, and hope to see more shops, cafes and galleries open up there. read more

Recommended by the locals - Camp North End is an awesome stop for tourist. They have a lot to see here with the art to some local shops and restaurants. There was a thrift event that happened on the day I visited that was particularly for women. There was also a smoothie van that had $5 smoothies for happy hour every day. I'd imagine this place would be fun to visit on a summer evening for an outdoor market. The disappointing thing was there were many empty offices and shops. It seemed like this place was just starting to get built out or the foot traffic isn't enough to keep businesses running. I wish I was able to see Camp North End at its peak of business. read more

Camp NorthEnd is a total vibe! I love coming here. Great food selections, a beautiful and unique plant shop, great photo ops and several other variety shops. There is a ton of underutilized open retail/office space. I hope more businesses geared toward entertainment flock here. There is so much potential. We came on Christmas Day to take advantage of their ice skating offering. Booking online was simple and efficient. They were also selling tickets at the counter. Admission and skates were $16, that included 1 hour of skating. The rink was fairly small for the amount of people that were there in our time block. I did not see anyone monitoring the entering and exit of the ice rink. It was really nice to be there after dark to see all of the lights. They had sitting areas with firepits. Camp North End.. I think may be one of Charlotte's most ambitious projects and honestly the one I'm most excited for (other than the probably never gonna happen Queens Park). The north side of the QC has historically been zoned for much of the business / industry that people would rather not live right next to, or at least that was how it started. Now, between NoDa, Optimist Hall, Camp North End.. you can easily see the movement taking place on the north side. Camp North End is 70+ acres in total and once completed will be the ultimate live, work, eat, play, walkable, mixed-use, whatever you wanna call it future of living in the QC. Pickleball? its there! Tacos, pizza, coffee, burgers, etc?? Yup, its all there. Camp North End once completed will be every bit as amazing for the north side as South Park Mall is for the south side. You might even take a broader look and see Camp North End as a reimagined / deconstructed future outdoor mall. As of today there is still plenty otw but once completed this will be the go-to place for "what to do if you only have 24 hours in CLT". read more

Camp North End is an awesome place to visit. I love coming here with my daughter to walk around and explore or bringing out of town guests here. There's lots of different shops, restaurants, and open spaces. There have been some places that closed over the years, but also tons of new additions and build outs to the development. Went to Gravity for pizza and Tommy boy is delicious. It's sweet and savory and I'd say it's enough to fill 2. The restaurant just opened and it seems promising, the staff are friendly and it didn't take long for me to get my order! I love the vibes at Camp North End and love that you can do so many fun events here like movies under the stars, farmers markets, and listening to live music. It's very kid friendly and they have many areas specifically for kids. There's plenty of little shops to roam around and buy from, like the plant shop and a paper goods shop. The only reason I docked a star is because the food vendors don't all stay on the same schedule so sometimes you show up at 6:30 PM and there's only 1 food option open. I'm sure as they expand, this will change, but it sucks getting there and not having anything to eat when you're at an event that they're hosting. Camp NORTHEND is a very interesting place.. a huge campground that were originally a old run down piece of land and with old building that could be knocked down to what it is today. I like it there. To be able to see what Charlotte can savage a piece of history but not knock it down like the rest of the city is priceless in itself. They have food stalls, a brewery, restaurant, bakery, charcuterie specialized shop, plant shop, paper shop, clothing shop to a huge area where people can come together to enjoy a movie or live bands. DJs spinning wonderful music on the weekend to certain festival happening all at camp NORTHEND. I mean can you ask for anything better. I don't think so. read more

Cool quirky spot & I'm here for it! Came on a Saturday afternoon around 6ish. I was surprised to see that it was not as busy as I thought it would be. They have a variety of different business from records, stores, shoes, and book store, with plenty of food and bar options. A lot of the food shops did close around 7/8 pm. I loved that you could get a drink and walk around the camp while sipping. They have a variety of games, children, entertainment, and seating options all around the camp. There was a section that had a whole bunch of seating with games and a live DJ playing lots of great tunes. Def. Love this spot and will be back for sure. Camp North End is the perfect little gem. Great area for a little aimless romping with some great shops and restaurants. The area is set up perfectly for a stroll and is an excellent place for all sorts of community events. My favorites in the complex are Leah and Louise and Hex Coffee. I parked in the garage from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM. When I entered, I pressed for a ticket, but none was dispensed, though the gate arm lifted, so I assumed it had registered my entry. Upon exiting, I had no ticket, and the system charged me a $26 "lost ticket" fee. I pressed the help button, but the attendant told me she had no record of similar issues and didn't believe me. We were left with no choice but to pay the full-day fee. It was a frustrating end to what should've been a simple evening. I understand technology isn't perfect, and mistakes happen. I'd really appreciate being connected with someone who could review this situation or help make it right. Had so much fun visiting the Christmas market at camp north end! It's such a fun and open space with lots of fun local makers and events. I always love coming to camp north end because it's so convenient and a really cool repurposed space. Tuesday night they have a run club with mad miles which runs around the campus 1mile or 2miles at whatever pace or proficiency, They also have so many cute food stalls, breweries, and local goodies. Catch the events like outdoor movie night as well sponsored by aurora theater. Great space to gather as a community with so many fun event options. Loved seeing all the local murals and installations mixed in with shops. We stopped at Lokal to grab some locally made candles, stickers, hoodies, jewelry, and t-shirts. Good Postage has a beautiful collection of art supplies and prints. Macfly has some super cool screen printed tees, bags, and pins. Onto the food! We got coffee and pastries at Wentworth & Finn, al pastor and carne tacos from La Caseta, and the seasonal cold ramen from Saru. Everything was a 10/10. TL;DR- Go! IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE! Such a beautiful spot. I could spend every weekend here. Their food is great and they have a mix of sit down restaurants (usually a bit small and busy so beware) and to-go food stalls. They have plentiful outdoor seating which is great to listen to the array of live music performances and DJs they often have. The atmosphere is wonderful especially when it starts to get dark and they turn on their string lights everywhere. It is a very friendly and positive vibe. The only complaint I have about Camp North End is there isn't a sister property called Camp South End, a little closer to where I live near Southpark! Honestly, I think of this location as the home base for Leah and Louise, my favorite restaurant in the city. But there is actually so much more to offer, and the number of new businesses continue to multiply. I would describe it as a open air, Urban Marketplace, with an eclectic mix of restaurants and businesses that appeal to a wide variety of people. But it also has a lot of options for families with young kids, including an outdoor play area with hammocks surrounding the perimeter, so parents can get their Sunday relax on while letting the kiddos run around. I do feel like business hours on weekends can be a bit of a hit or miss, as I noticed several of the businesses were closed mid afternoon on a Sunday, despite there being pretty decent foot traffic throughout the campus. This establishment will only get better as more businesses and restaurants open, but if it stays as is, it is still one of the best places to hang out in Charlotte. read more

I love Camp North End! What's not to love? It's outside and spread out. There's tons of cool outdoor art. There are always popups and other events going on. There are lots of good restaurants too. I love the concept of the food stalls. It's like an outdoor food hall. We've tried them all and they're all worth checking out. We also love Leah & Louise and Wentworth & Fenn. There is tons of outdoor seating in different areas. The food stalls have their own seating. There's a bunch of tables across from Leah & Louise. There are fire pits and more seating by Hex Coffee. There is parking at each entrance too. It's a fun place to walk around and explore. If you're looking to take pictures or just explore, come in the morning. It's really quiet and there aren't many people around. This is one of my favorite places in Charlotte! Definitely check it out. read more

HELLO perfect social distance hang out spot!! I had been hearing great things about Camp North End and never made it until I was invited my couple friends for a social distance double date. They were having an event when we went and there were lots of people but mostly all were in compliance with the mask signs posted throughout the grounds. We spent sometime walking & looking around at the different venues and graffiti art. There was also a DJ in one area since this was the reveal of the CHARLOTTE Mural. I also found a good number of black owned businesses which is always a plus! **Couple places to check out in Camp North End that I know of:** The Charlotte mural (I believe this changes so not sure how long it will be there) Leah & Louise ( I haven't been but I've heard amazingly great things about it) Plant Joy (Haven't been bc it's fairly new but it looks amazing!!) Black Moth Bar ( This is the little Airstream in the Boileryard area... the drinks are amazing!!) The Boileryard area is where I've found to be the area where live music often occurs and often where I find black artistry.
