I was looking for a meat market. This place is nice they a some grocery's in there. I went for the meat. They had a variety of chicken and they had large portion bags of chicken wings. They had beef, pork, and some fish. I like this place bc it was open on Sundays. They do have parking available. The staff was friendly. read more

Perhaps the best name for a super market I have ever seen, but not sure why this place has higher reviews than Harris Teeter; the selection is smaller, the prices are higher and the lighting is dimmer. Although they do have a pretty sweet checkered floor, this place feels more like a large convenience store than anything else, although they do have quite a good selection of meat, which was by far the most popular area of the store(it's in the back). read more

Great little discount grocery store here in Plaza. They have a little bit of everything and an awesome meat department! I just bought some nice thick porterhouse steaks for six dollars a pound. If you're looking to have a barbecue I would definitely recommend stopping by the giant penny! read more

They have a great selection for meats and their prices are very good for the amount you get. If you have a family and need to save come to this place for real. We actually had a small cooler because we were able to get different varieties for a much lower cost than the bigger chain supermarkets. read more

Awesome meat selection. You can find cuts you would never find at any other grocery store in town. The prices are terrific also. I was able to get entire slabs of bone-in short ribs untrimmed to use in the smoker. Turned out great, and at about $5.50 a pound were well priced too! I was recommended to come to Giant penny from one of my friends when I told her I wanted to do a cook out. Looking from outside it looked like an older building. There was also a man selling incense and oils! Good prices from him. Went in and it was super clean and organized. Many items were priced a bit higher like cabbage. My family has been shopping at Giant Penny since the 90's.They are not racist at all.When she had her store on Bradford she would give my mom groceries until she got paid.So actually in a sense they do give back to the community.If you go in many stores they may ask you to leave your backpack.Her stores are in not so good areas where people tend to steal.I love Giant Penny. I am a mother of two and me and my fiance are average middle class people who don't get help from the government so I am thankful to be able to go there and get my meats at a good price. read more

An insult to the black community! They don't trust us, but will come into our community and take our money and you never hear of them giving back to the BLACK community. I was ripped off! And I am pissed I visited this store today. I bought some chicken Breast and when I got home. I opened the bag and was shocked at what I saw. I don't know who the hell they have butchering the meats but. I have never seen chicken breast slaughtered and hacked like this in my life. There were pieces with just a quarter of meat and some with just bone and a piece of meat. I want to go back there and throw it in their faces. But, unfortunately I can't waste the gas to go back there. It's true they come to poor neighborhoods and take our money and give us less than good quality products. Consumers beware! read more
