Meat stocks vary according to processing schedule and local buying habits, prices drop a little when cooler space is at a premium so check the calendar and choose wisely. Fruits and veggies vary with the weather as well as the seasons, I'm expecting the expected for price and selection when it warms up. Additionally, preserves, honeys, assorted tchotchky, and garden and gardening accessories are available in the modest little shed set back from the blacktop. She has a 15 week old new baby brother so it's a good bonding time for just the 2 of us. Her favorite is the "cookie man" Ladybug Farms Bakery and her "candle lady" the divine, LMW E-Sensually You LLC. Although her new favorite might be the "bow lady" whom my daughter purchased her first ever bow from. We also love Leonhardt Farms who have the most delicious sweet potatoes and carrots you have ever had in your entire life! They also give the littles a piece of fruit on the house. We are still waiting the return of the "magnet man" so she can get herself some more of his cool homemade magnets!

10/10 - One of My Favorite Farmers Markets!…read more I stopped by the Kings Drive Farmers Market on a Saturday around 9:30-10:00 a.m., and it was definitely busy! If you're planning to go, I'd recommend getting there as close to opening (around 7:00 a.m.) as possible to beat the crowds. Even with the number of people, everything was very well organized. They had someone directing parking, and the checkout line moved quickly. The vendors were friendly, and the overall experience was smooth. The selection was amazing. They had fresh fruits and vegetables, beautiful flowers, local honey, homemade jams, apple butter (I brought home a jar!), fresh baked goods, and even fresh meat from a local vendor. I also grabbed a mini pecan pie, and it was delicious! The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the freshness and quality. One thing to know is that this market isn't as spread out as some of the larger farmers markets, so it can feel crowded once it gets busy. Even so, it never felt disorganized, and the vendors were well stocked with plenty of products. I've always loved the Kings Drive Farmers Market, and this visit reminded me why. It's been a while since I'd been, but I'll definitely be going back more often. Whether you're shopping for your weekly produce, looking for local products, or just want to walk around and support local vendors, it's absolutely worth the trip. 10/10 recommend! I've been visiting Unity Farms produce stand in Uptown Charlotte for the past two years. They set…read moreup at Trade and Tryon on the SE corner Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. They have amazingly fresh and wallet friendly produce along with some of the best tomatoes I've ever tasted. They have a wide selection of produce from eggplant to okra to grapefruit to avocados. They also offer fresh basil and parsley at times and again, some of the best I've ever had. The Unity Farm people are happy to answer any questions you may have about the produce they offer and very friendly. I usually stroll outta there with a big bag of stuff for under $10 which is why I become depressed in October when they leave until spring time. Cash only---if you work Uptown visit this place on your lunch break or stop on over on a wknd to visit them and other local vendors.

The people are friendly and it's like seeing friends you haven't seen in a while. Farmer's markets in general make my heart sing but these guys also have fresh, tasy fruit/veggies. They are at Trade & Tryon every Tuesday & Friday from the first Friday in May until just into October...and I miss them the rest of the fall, winter and early spring. :)
