    Turkey avocado melt
    Alexis P.

This café brings such a refreshing Turkish-inspired twist to your usual coffee spot. Their drink menu has a wide variety of options, and I love that they offer seasonal flavors such as pumpkin which is my fav fall flavor --I went with the pumpkin latte. Highly recommend! They also have a solid selection of pastries and desserts if you're in the mood for something sweet, but I decided to try the turkey avocado melt. It was honestly so good--the pesto really made the sandwich stand out. The vibe here is another highlight. It's a great mix of people working, studying, or just hanging out, which makes it a perfect spot if you're looking to get some work done outside of home.

    Tiramisu with hot chocolate

All I can say is come here for the dessert!! I came here with two of my friends and we had brunch. My panini and hot chocolate were average. The atmosphere is very communal-like and not really my vibe. It's quite loud and we had a hard time finding a place to sit. When we finally did my chair was heavy, clunky and uncomfortable. However, I got a slice of sweet potato pie and tiramisu to go and it was outstanding!! Delicious in every way. I shared it with my husband and we both loved it. I'd personally return on a low volume day, but would probably just get dessert to go. A heads up...this place is expensive!! So keep that in mind if you choose to visit.

Fourth time here and it keeps delivering. Came on a Tuesday afternoon with a friend and it was the perfect low key visit -- not too busy, and we grabbed a 4-top table right when we walked in. The setup is worth mentioning for first timers -- it's seat yourself with a mix of social couches, working tables, and grouped seating. Very versatile depending on what you're coming in for. I've worked out of here a few times too and the free WiFi makes it easy. One heads up though -- outlets are pretty limited depending on where you sit, so if you're coming to work, get there early and choose your seat wisely. On to the good stuff. My friend ordered the Pistachio Matcha Latte and it was really tasty -- I took a sip and can confirm. We also tried the tiramisu Turkish delight, which had an interesting flavor but great texture. I'd try the pistachio or a fruit flavor next time. Seemed well made overall. I got my usual -- the strawberry banana Frappuccino with oat milk. Amazing, as always. My friend and I did go back and forth on whether it contained coffee since it's labeled as a Frappuccino, but we asked a worker and confirmed there's zero coffee or caffeine in it. A little misleading by name, but honestly I order it for the flavor anyway so no complaints. Side note -- this place gets busy on Eid, from personal experience. Great energy that day but worth knowing if you're planning around it. Consistent, spacious, and always a good vibe. Keep coming back for a reason.

We visited Vavela on a Friday night after dinner for a quick dessert. I loved the setup in here, their seating and decor was just beautiful. I think there's something to be said about having a late night hangout spot which isn't alcohol focused. I really loved this place, their vibes were awesome. We ordered some baklava and a strawberry and cream croissant. The croissant was really nice, and the pastry cream was super good, but the strawberries were underripe and super sour and tasteless. The baklava was awesome though. The service at this place was great, I love that they have someone seating people. I would absolutely go here as a late night spot, especially since it's open until 2am and it's a great place for conversations!

This is truly a beautiful chill vibe place to get a great coffee, frappe or dessert. I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't know what to get so I got Dubai chocolate dream cake and a Dubai chocolate frappe. They were light, creamy, dreamy and refreshing. They have something for everyone. I love the ambience and I highly recommend. Note the AC ain't no joke so bring jacket or blanket if you cold natured.

Very cute and spacious coffee shop located in a shop center with plenty of parking. The vibes reminded you of an indoor beach club-- but make it a space to do work. There is a huge case filled with a large variety of pastries and cheesecakes at the front. So much to choose from. Service was efficient and they used the buzzer system with such a large customer base I didnt get much food, but I had a decaf coffee- which was fine. And a blueberry muffin.

The Strawberry Dubai cup - Not worth $13.95

The atmosphere is very nice here. The presentation and selection of baked offerings is very nice too. My sister got the Crème Brûlée Cheesecake ($6.95) and said it was delicious! We also ordered the Strawberry Dubai Cup ($13.95), Dubai mini cake ($6.95), and the Pistachio Kataifi cake ($7.25). So, the strawberry cup was just okay, not worth the money! The pistachio cake was not good, it was dry and there was an odd flavor we couldn't place. The mini cake wasn't bad but not great like we were hoping. *The Dubai desserts we got tonight did not have real kataifi, they used shredded wheat. This does not give you the same crunch....Disappointing!!!!

The atmosphere and energy are amazing and the place is well located. My only complaint is that the pricing is a bit over the top for the food being of standard quality/ taste. My main reason for coming here and visiting would be the vibes.

I love how they do birthdays for people! It's really nice! The manager is also very friendly and I have seen him at all hours of the day! The pistachio latte is delish!! That and the chicken pesto is my go to ! Also the zatar cheese plate is a close second! The restaurant is super nice and clean, it's a nice ambiance!

Great Ambiance Great Service Good coffee and desserts as well . This place was beautiful inside and from the outside not what you would at all expect as it is in a building looking like any old strip mall. But inside it is just a fun transformation of the space. With lots of seating and wide open spaces. The touch of colors and design make it feel like somewhere you would want to hang out. The coffee was good not great but everything else helped elevate the experience. It can be quite busy so make sure to grab a table if you see one when you get in there quickly!

Brought my sister to my secret favorite coffee cafe!

Despite the line, it was a short wait our chicken pesto and chicken salad sandwiches were delicious!! We enjoyed the music and vibes while drinking our hibiscus and mango drinks!

Red velvet and cheesecake. We ate the Leon raspberry cake before getting a picture.

First time going here last night and wasn't disappointed. We were looking for a new place to try dessert and found this gem on a food bloggers IG. We tried the lemon raspberry cake, red velvet cake, and cheesecake. Everything was amazing and wasn't as sweet as most desserts. The lemon raspberry and cheesecake were our favorites. The service was quick, everything was fresh, and the decor was beautiful. Cannot wait to return for breakfast and lunch.

Are you kidding me? This is an incredible café. I've been there a couple times and although it is typically packed if you get a good seat, it's a lovely experience. Their croissants are life-changing and I love getting the berry cup- the fruit is so fresh. I haven't tried a lot of their other items , but I've only heard good things and I could genuinely stay in there for hours.

We thoroughly enjoyed the food here. They served generous portions of babaganoush and hummus -- both were delicious. They also gave us complimentary lentil soup, and it was surprisingly good. For entrees, we ordered the lamb shank, which was juicy, tender, and absolutely amazing. The adana kabab was top notch with incredible flavor. The chicken shawarma and chicken kabab could have been a bit more tender, but still enjoyable overall. They also have a large selection of desserts on the menu, so definitely save some room if you can. Overall, we had a great experience at La Shish Kabob -- warm hospitality, big portions, and flavorful food. Would definitely go back!

I first experienced this stuffed turkey leg trend in Dallas a couple of years ago as part of their pop-up. The line we sat in to get turkey legs that morning was more than 2 miles long and took over an hour and a half to get through. So I was pretty stoked when I found out that there was a location here in Charlotte. We visited on a Saturday afternoon around 5 PM And initially passed the location and had to U-turn and go back. Just make sure you keep an eye out for the building as I initially thought it was an auto repair shop, but that is actually a business that shares the same parking lot. When we first pulled up, there was a bit of commotion as there seemed to be a person having a bit of a mental health episode, walking around erratically outside. However, the owner was actually sitting outside and immediately greeted us when we pulled up and welcomed us in. This is a very small location and sparsely decorated on the outside, but did have much better aesthetics in the interior. The menu is very straightforward with several options, including the turkey legs, turkey wings, salmon and chicken entrées. Both owners were very friendly and helpful as I made my decision on what to order and the food was ready in about 10 minutes. The legs are a little on the pricey side at $25 a pop but the portion size is definitely enough for two people. And the quality of the food is outstanding! Well seasoned, super tender, and super flavorful. I would describe this as a perfect blend between Texas soul food and Louisiana Creole. This is the kind of business I like to support because they are clearly focused on delivering great food and they are doing it right in the middle of the community. Go support them!
