    Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte

Checked this place out Monday morning and I ordered the brown sugar cinnamon latte. It was tasty and had just the right amount of sweetness without being too much. The space itself is spacious and modern, with a relaxed vibe. They had low instrumental music playing in the background, which made it feel calm. Service was quick, especially for a Monday morning, and everything came out fast and smooth. Just a heads up, the parking is shared with a church and daycare, so it might get a little tight during drop off and pick up hours. But overall, a solid spot and I'd definitely come back!

This is my new favorite coffee shop spot in Myers Park! Run by Manolo from Manolo's Bakery and located inside the Myers Park United Methodist Church, this Higher Grounds coffee shop is pretty cool and sophisticated with lots of space to hang hout and pieces of art all around. There is plenty of free parking. The menu has the basic cold and hot coffee and tea options, gelato and some pastries with a Latin flavor. My wife and I ordered lattes and empanadas, and the were really good. The service is good and the overall experience was positive. Overall, 100% recommended.

Vibes were amazing. Super cute, will definitely be back just for the simple fact I can actually get work done in there. As far as the coffee, I ordered a brown sugar latte 5/10. They use torani syrups if that helps anyone. I'm a latte fanatic and this wasn't that great. Chic empanada was good just a tad dry.

It was our first time visiting Charlotte, and after seeing that the shop was open until 11:00 p.m., we figured it would be the perfect way to end the evening. We arrived just a few minutes before closing, but since we only planned to order a couple of scoops of gelato, we expected to be in and out quickly. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. Rather than greeting us or welcoming us, the employee immediately said, "Hey guys, by the way, we close in two minutes." There was no hello or friendly interaction. As we ordered, one member of our party asked to sample a couple of flavors, and the employee seemed visibly inconvenienced. When I asked if they had caramel drizzle, her response was simply, "No," with no warmth or attempt to offer an alternative. I completely understand that arriving close to closing can be frustrating for employees, and we were mindful of the time. However, the doors were still open, the posted business hours indicated the shop was open until 11:00 p.m., and we were respectful customers who knew what we wanted and intended to order quickly. What was most disappointing wasn't that they were closing soon--it was how unwelcome we were made to feel. As first-time visitors to Charlotte and Ballantyne, this wasn't the hospitality we expected. Customer service matters just as much during the last few minutes of business as it does throughout the rest of the day. I hope this feedback is taken as an opportunity to remind staff that every customer deserves to feel welcomed, regardless of when they walk through the door during posted business hours.
