I had an insanely great brunch here. First, after ordering food and drinks on the tablet on the porch, we got to go inside and look at the fun community aesthetic of the business. It's a little house that anyone can write on. And once the food was ready, it was oooonnnnn- i got an avocado bagel huge enough to share with my friend, and it was fixin's on fixin's!!! I dont like messy food or too many ingredients, but I make my exception here. Everything tasted amazing on this bagel, it was savory and filling. My matching chair surprisingly made so much sense together, the flavors combined and iced on this warm day felt so great. After our meal, we sat out on the lawn with the other patrons and just enjoyed a chat. Definitely stop by with your friends, you wont be disappointed!
Cute coffee shop with yummy lattes and solid breakfast options. Me and my friend stopped by on a Sunday morning; It was very busy so be prepared to wait. They have a good amount of fun drink options which is nice! I got the breakfast sandwich and the Pooh bear latte. The latte was great- good flavors and really delicious. The bagel sandwich was good but it didn't have much flavor- the chipotle sauce they served with it saved the sandwich, it was a good pairing. We were a little sad that all of the folks around us got ducks- we came hoping to get one but apparently it's at the barista/cashiers discretion. Oh well! Overall, a solid spot with flavorful fun drinks.
The cutest coffee shop!! You order outside at the counter. They have benches by the order window as well as outdoor Adirondack chairs outside, and tables inside. They have lots of coffee options including decaf espresso which is what I always order. They have 2 size options and they make all their own syrups which is amazing!! The iced coffee lid option is the kind where you don't need a straw, but they do have straws if you would like one. They have a variety of milk options and always ask me how sweet I want my caramel latte. They have tiny plastic ducks and dinosaurs which they sometimes include with my coffee- an adorable little charm! Everyone has always been friendly. It is a bit pricy, it always runs me about $7-$8 for a decaf caramel latte in the tallest option. But always delicious!!!

I was asked what sweetness I wanted with my latte, which is a nice touch. I don't like too sweet so I chose their "little sweet" option and it was just right. These 2 drinks came to about $11 in total. Parking was easy during a weekday- make sure you park in their lot and not the Nextdoor churches. The gal at checkout was friendly and gave my toddler a sticker- so that five bonus points for me!
Exceptional lattes! As the name suggests, come here for the "brew." We ordered the desert rose and banana bread lattes, and in both you could taste the strong, high quality coffee mixed with the flavors. I can see why the banana bread latte has gone viral - it has a combination of warm spices like cinnamon and clove with the banana flavor, which doesn't taste artificial. And mine was handed to me with a cute mini plastic unicorn - what a way to start the day! Next time, I'll skip the food. We ordered the breakfast burrito with avocado and sausage as well as the cinnamon roll. The tortilla of the burrito wasn't warm, and there was only avocado on one end. It was nicely cheesy though. The cinnamon roll reminded me of the kind you make at home out of a tube - I'd prefer if it was warm, with cream cheese icing and bolder cinnamon flavor to differentiate it from a grocery store purchase. The inside is eclectic, with colorful Sharpies that encourage customers to write all over the walls. The porch and front yard offer comfortable seating for nice CLT mornings. I'll see ya when it's time for my next latte!
The baristas were so awesome ! My friend was late so I had her on the phone trying to order her drink and the guy said he could talk to her on the phone to help her out. She got a matcha "flap jack" which she said was really good. I got the almond joy which heavy cream and stevia instead of simple syrup, and although it wasn't sweet like I wanted it (my fault for not asking if they had sugar free syrup lol), but the flavor of the cold brew and espresso was so good. I could also taste the coconut extract and it was a nice blend. I really enjoyed my coffee. They have awesome upbeat vibes. I also loved the little ducks they give you. They give you one in your favorite color and then give you an extra to give someone else who needs a little extra luck. I just think it's such an adorable concept. They were a 10/10 for me and def get there early because they get busy fast lol.
This place is popular! Arrived around 11 and the line was down to the sidewalk in front of the house. Took us about 20 minutes from there to order and the guy taking orders was amazingly friendly and made sure to explain what Turkish coffee was as it was our first try. Coffee drinks were really good but would pass on the muffin next time and try something else. Very neighborhood vibe and you can write on the walls if you wanted to, there was some lofi music playing inside and some star wars memorabilia and funko pops indoors on the mantel too. Definitely would return for coffee and to hang out!
Ran by the nicest Arabic family I've ever met, this places' customer service was a 1000/10. They were kind, funny, and genuinely cared that we enjoyed ourselves. We went specifically to try their Banana Bread Latte (aka the BBL, which made us laugh), and while it was cute in name, I'll be honest it didn't really taste like banana bread. It leaned more on the bitter side, so if you're expecting something super sweet or dessert-like, you might want to tweak it with a syrup or sugar. I also had an everything bagel that came stacked with cream cheese..., a borderline cream cheese sandwich. Personally, I was into it, but if you're not a cream cheese lover, you might want to ask for a lighter spread. Overall, I'd definitely go back just for the energy, service, and to try something else on the menu. The vibes are unmatched. Oh and they also have a chess board inside!
If there is a banana bread latte on the menu... I'm gonna get it. This one was pretty good and I liked how they asked what sweetness level I wanted. I also love Dilworth and this is in such a good location. The only thing I don't like is the inside. It's not cozy coffee shop that I want to camp out in for hours.

The service here is what keeps me coming back too - TK manages to make my day everyday. That man was concocted with sugar, spice, and everything nice. He spreads that to the food and the customers every time I visit. Upon driving up, this place is unassuming because it simply looks like a home refitted to offer food service. The front room inside has been graffitied with sharpies reminiscent of the bathroom at your favorite local bar. It feels homey and approachable. If that's not your vibe, don't fret, the front porch furniture, complete with a fire pit or the adirondak chairs on the front lawn also welcome everyone in from the sun for conversations over coffee with your friends. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place.
Had a great experience at backyard brew! The owner was super nice and even gave my son a sticker lol. I ordered the banana bread matcha latte and am very pleased with the drink. I will be going back to try their other matchas! 10/10 recommend going here!
The staff is super friendly and always happy to customize your drink just the way you like it. If you're into something unique, definitely try the Banana Bread Latte - it's amazing. Tastes just like banana bread in a cup, with the perfect balance of sweet and cozy. Great atmosphere, great people, and awesome coffee. Highly recommend!

I have to give a HUGE shoutout to Grace and Nora at Backyard Brew! These two young ladies absolutely knocked it out of the park with their friendliness, customer service, and overall positive vibes. You can tell when someone genuinely enjoys making customers feel welcome--and these two have that down to a science. Their attitudes honestly made the coffee taste even better! And speaking of the coffee... spectacular! Absolutely delicious. I also have to give a special shoutout to the little duck they gave me. Apparently, I came for coffee and left with a new emotional-support duck. I'm not complaining--he's already part of the family. Now, I have to keep it real: the croissant was kind of... meh. Nothing terrible, but it definitely didn't reach the same level as the coffee or the service. I'll happily try a different pastry next time because one mediocre croissant isn't going to keep me away. Overall, excellent coffee, fantastic service, and two genuinely wonderful people in Grace and Nora. Backyard Brew has something special with these two. I'll definitely be back--and I'm bringing my little duck with me! read more
I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars!!! I walked up not knowing what to expect as I was just on a hot girl walk looking for a coffee and the owner asks what I normally like in my coffee, how sweet I normally like my coffee and if I didn't like what I selected he would gladly make another coffee all within the first 2 minutes of the conversation. I normally like specialty coffees or seasonal drinks and he was able to make a recommendation of the cinnamon roll latte. It was very flavorful, not super sweet and the coffee isn't bitter. They accidentally made an extra coffee so I was able to take the second one with me! The syrup options are endless and there are a ton of drink options if you can't quite make a decision. Inside you can write in the wall and leave a special touch! There is a good amount of seating inside and outside if you are needing to get work done! It is a house so you could pass it without knowing it's a coffee shop! read more

It was my first time visiting this coffee shop, and overall, it was a fine experience. I ordered the pistachio baklava latte, which I was really excited about, but it didn't quite meet my expectations--I didn't really taste the pistachio or baklava flavors. However, the service was fantastic. The owner at the front was incredibly accommodating and friendly, even telling me I could change my order or have it adjusted if I wasn't happy. My friend got the almond croissant and said it was delicious. The vibe of the place is cool, and we had no trouble finding seating even on a busy Sunday. One fun little touch is they give you a cute mini duck, which added a bit of charm to the experience. While the drink didn't wow me, the friendly service and welcoming atmosphere definitely made up for it. read more

A+ Excellence services this morning as we approach the ordering window at Backyard Brew. We were greeted with an extra Saturday vibe morning to welcome us into Sunday. To keep the customer energy going into the day before workweek. Love it! We explained that this was our first time here and gave us a detailed rundown of the place. Then he placed two little ducks in front of us as we looked over the menu. Cool, right! We both ordered the Golden Latte one hot and one cold. It definitely had a great fresh coffee herbal blend taste. Now, them Jordanian Cakes were a light fluffy rose sweet taste with a hint of cardamom and flakes of pistachio. Which made each bite rewarding. There were plenty of alphabetical parking spaces in the back. They even have a place to take a cool selfie spot near the parking. Nice for any type of outing. read more

Trust the reviews. Backyard Brew is the bomb. Not only are all their offerings, from their pistachio baklava latte to their lentil soup, divine, but also this place has GREAT vibes. (To be more specific about their drink and food offerings, my pistachio baklava latte had real pistachio bits in it. And the lentil soup was better than what I've had at legit restaurants.) As for those vibes I was talking about, the place has so much indoor and outdoor seating; millions of markers to doodle the walls and tables; and the most radiant customer service ever. The man taking our orders was a natural conversationalist. He made every single one of his customers so happy. He was even giving out these teeny tiny ducks. TLDR: If you want to start your day off with a happy belly and mind, you should definitely check out Backyard Brew. You will not be disappointed! Oh yes, and there's also a good amount of parking spots available too! read more

10 out of 10, breakfast burrito was fresh and delicious, Best part is you can pick your sweetness level for your coffee. Owners are passionate and of course the mini ducks are a bonus! read more
