Flourless Chocolate Cake
Ian N.

Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake (3/5): More on the fluffy side which is not my preference. The brownie pieces were nice and the crust was good (and thick). RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Key Lime Pie
Pat C.

I've had this bakery's key lime pie before, and it was a normal, traditional key lime pie with a proper custard filling. What I received this time was completely different. This pie was almost entirely whipped cream, with little to no actual key lime filling. It looked nothing like the pie shown on their Instagram (which shows a full custard-style filling with no whipped topping) and nothing like what I've previously purchased from them. This wasn't a small change or variation -- it was an entirely different product. If the recipe has changed or this is now meant to be a whipped or mousse-style pie, that needs to be clearly disclosed. As it stands, this felt misleading and extremely disappointing.

Red velvet cake, chocolate croissants, and macaroons (yellow= lemon, purple = lavender, chocolate, blue = confetti cake I think)
Makaela P.

Villani's bakery is one of the only bakeries in town that stays open until 10 pm - making it perfect for a late night sweet treat. I've been a few times already and definitely have my favorites and not so favs: - macaroons: there's so many flavors but my favorite so far are lemon, lavender, and blueberry. The tastes are a bit more subtle and not overly sweet. Only wish macaroons were larger - ugh I finish one in two bites, sadly. - Red velvet cake: finding a good red velvet cake can be more difficult than it should be. But Villani's did a great job on theirs. It's sweet, moist, and so tasty! - Chocolate croissants: good, nothing mind blowing here. - Chocolate chip cookie: this was so disappointing as they look great! They are large but sooooo dry! I had one bite of mine and threw the rest away. Overall, a good experience and I'll be back for sure whenever I have a sugar craving!

This place is magical! So many amazing desserts! The staff was friendly and gave suggestions. We got a sample of a few different items and everything was delicious. Definitely recommend!

Tiramisu, pistachio croissant, and cannoli

One of the few bakeries that stays open till 10pm for those of you who are craving a sweet treat during the night time! I feel like it doesn't matter what time of the day, there's always people here. The interior is small, but staff are very friendly and efficient. I've gotten something different each time and everything is delicious but I feel like the pistachio cheesecake is definitely my favorite. You truly can't go wrong with any of the items here!

Love so many of their items - Lobster Tails ( my fave ), Tiramisu, Rainbow and Red Velvet Cheesecakes, Creme Puffs , Babka ! I could go on and on ! I dont mind the drive butnof course wish there was one in So Charlotte too! Just 100% perfect !

Villani's is hands down the best kept secret in Charlotte. It's the only spot in the city doing pastries the European way, or as I like to call it, the correct way. Their Triple Berry Muffin with the sugar topping was light, perfectly sweet, and bursting with flavor. Everything in the case looked like it belonged in a Parisian café. Cozy vibe, great coffee, and even better baked goods with the friendly service to match. This place is the real deal.

Sampler box of macarons, almond cookies, crumb, cake, and an almond croissant
Amy U.

Sampled a variety of sweets and baked goods from Villani's twice in the past year or so. The croissants have been my favorite and they are huge!! The butter and almond are both yummy and very easy to heat up leftover at home in the oven wrapped in foil. Their sweets and macarons have been completely hit & miss but I wouldn't not give them another chance.

That's because they had a huge map outlining the historical trade routes that coffee beans were transported on, as well as an homage to some of the patrons of coffee cultivation. I've been to so many coffee shops in my life, and Qahwah House was the first time, if not ever, then definitely in a long time, that I felt like I experienced something unique. I loved it. The service is very kind and they give you a buzzer to easily come pick up your order when it's ready. The ambiance was great the last time I went in. They had wifi available if I needed it, but it wasn't overpacked so I could work a bit when I first came in and then was able to still hear my friend when she came over. It has nicely spaced tables so you aren't as boxed in as you are in some of the other coffee places in this area. Overall, my favorite place to grab a Turkish coffee in Charlotte. Yummy coffee, nicely spaced tables, free wifi, good service, and not overly packed. My go-to coffee spot in Plaza Midwood!

They offer a lot of drinks and food and have lots of seating. The outdoor area was beautiful and relaxing-ish (they can't help the cars driving by). I ordered a zucchini quiche and nitro coffee, my SO ordered drip, cortado, and empanadas (Patagonia, spinach, and breakfast). I thought the cortado was delicious. The drip was very weak and the nitro bitter. The quiche was just slightly over salted. I liked the spinach empanada, but found it heavy on the salt too. The Patagonia was pretty delicious and had great flavor. When I took a bite of the breakfast empanada, I couldn't name any of the ingredients in the filling. Overall, gave me the caffeine boost and sustenance I needed, but I probably wouldn't return.
