WOW! I wish we had one closer to where we live! Stumbled onto this place while doing Community Service Work recently! Needed a spot with good coffee ! It's a small quaint but welcoming place with a vast array of breads , pastries , danishes and sandwiches amongst other things. It's self self serve as far as the food items go - upon entering you pick up a tray n tongs and make your selections! They offer both savory and sweet or somewhere in the middle of that to delight anyone's taste buds. I had a spinach pastry - savory, cheesy and the dough was laced with just a hint of sweetness! It was delicious! Hubby hubby Portuguese egg tart that he equally enjoyed! They also gave us samples of their macaroons and apple danish. . The staff was extremely helpful and patient with our questions and checked on us even after our purchase! They have semi custom cakes perfect for special events as well. I guarantee you'll like it!

Little French bakery that shares a small parking lot right off of South Blvd. Get a tray, place was paper, grab tongs, and choose items. Employees were nice and checked me out quickly. Small eat in space.

What's better than Asian Fusion; I'll wait. Came for the milk bread but they were out so I got a selection of croissants, Uber cream bread, macaroons and a mango soorrobun-thingy. All were absolutely delectable. I came too late on the day as the case was empty but I still got a scrumptious sampling. It's a lot smaller in small but absolutely quaint and cute. I got in the car and the Ube Bread was my 1st bite. It was extremely soft and moist with a subtle sweetness. I knew it was going to be up from there. Had I not been in windows mode I may have indulged in a signatures drink. Now I gave a reason to come back. The staff was pleasant. No, I didn't get a hello upon entering but I'm ok with that. It gave me a chance to walk around and not feel overwhelmed. However, I was asked if I needed help or anything after I was pacing back and forth. So that's attentive for me.

Such a cute little bakery! It's self serve mixed with order at the counter. The croissants were amazing!! Worth every dollar spent!!!

I came here on a Saturday morning, after visiting the farmers market. I've been to the South Park and pineville locations and have thoroughly enjoyed both! This location is a lot smaller than the South Park location, and parking can be a headache if you go on the weekends because it's a very small lot and it's in the same shopping center as the snooze. But inside it's nice and very straight to the point lol. I'd recommend parking in Atherton and walking over. I always get the same pastry, the spinach and feta, and for the drink I usually switch it up but today I decide to do a vanilla Shakerato. The spinach and feta pastry was in a warmer oven which initially I thought was a great idea, but my pastry ended up being extremely tough, like it had been sitting in the warmer for a long time! For the Shakerato I ended up having to go back to the counter to ask for one more squirt of vanilla. With the extra vanilla it was perfect! But even when asked the barista was saying she wasn't sure why the recipe for that drink had less syrup than the lattes. Overall, I would go again, and maybe next time just get a pastry that's not in the warmer, and I'll probably either just get a latte. But I 100% prefer the South Park location for taste and inside seating, and the pineville location if I'm already on that side of town.

This South End location is a good time! There is simply TOO much goodness to choose from. Every time I come here it's so hard to decide what to get. I do always get their matcha latte with oat milk and it's amazing every time!! They have a large assortment of pastries, sweets and even some savery pastry options. My boyfriend loves those specifically lol. The staff is always kind and helpful. PArking is a bit tricky, but there is a side lot that is kind of hidden. But there is always an open spot when I go. Highly recommend Tous Les Jours!!

Lots of selection for the pastries and some are kept warm. I tried the garlic and cheese croissant and would eat it again. One I didn't care for was the spinach and cheese but it would be beneficial to try again. Parking can be hard to find so you can park at the other side of the building.

Price is good. Food is amazing as absolutely always. Unfortunately the service this time was weird the girl who rang me while handling my pastry into a bag let us call accidentally, the pastry fell hit the credit card thingy that we use to pay and than without hesitation or as if nothing happened she picked up from the counter and continued to put it back in the bag. I paused and stunned asked her " hey I'm sorry, is it possible for me to grab another since this one fell all over here ? " she first hesitated and was annoyed. I had to ask " oh is that an issue? Is that ok if I get another instead?" And she then said ok. I go grab another get the bag and pay. Still am shook that she never said I'm so sorry let me get you another one and if I hadn't said anything I'd have left w a dirty broken pastry? lol Which I'd probably would've wasted anyways if I knew how good they were! Absolutely delicious I recommend see the pic below. The ambience again super cute and if you can choose to go to any location I recommend the other one. Not only for seating space ( this one really probably works best for to go orders) but also variety. I must admit this experience got me thinking how many things have fallen in this counter wherever and been bagged? How sanitary are things being handled?

This is possibly THE smallest Tous Les Jours store I've been to...not just in Charlotte, but in other states. I just didn't like its super-compact layout...with tables basically squeezed in together. We ordered several pastry items to share, with Cappucino and Matcha Latte. As always, I loved these French-inspired, finely milled pastries...so light and fluffy, with the just-right amount of sweetness. For such a tiny store, it carried a pretty good selection...even including this Croque Monsier, which I only saw once in Koreatown in NYC. BTW, their Croque Monsier was better than most I've had in restaurants! In addition to sharing 2-3 pastry items in the store, I bought 2 items to go...and enjoyed them all. I struggled with dropping 4 or 5 stars...primarily because of its ridiculously tight sitting quarters. Just not a fan of super-compact space. However, I was very impressed with the pastry selection at this new location, especially since we arrived late around 6 pm. Since I enjoyed each and every pastry item (and the drink) so thoroughly, I've got to drop 5 stars.

I have been in love with the Tous on Piedmont Row by South Park mall. And it been a hike for me. Since there's lot of traffic etc. The one in Pineville inside Suger G. Is even busier. So here is this location. One of the smallest. But easy to get to since I work on East Blvd. I have been here twice. Their quality is exactly the same as the other two locations. I'm in love with the Caramel Apple Danish and the simple coffee buns.. of course their birthday cakes are to die for. Simple with a nice light whipping cream as frosting. Many have fruits. Some don't. Since it's smaller. It's never really tooo busy in there and it does have a laid back feel. But cozy.. customer service is great and attentive. Love it.

The cutest little Asian and French inspired bakery!! There were so many yummy looking options which made it so hard to pick. Plenty of pastries and baked goods to select from. It's small with limited seating inside, so keep that in mind. The parking lot is tiny as well. The staff were polite and answered my questions I had regarding some of the baked goods, and also provided some suggestions! I ordered a few yummy items! Strawberry and cream croissant 10/10 - This was lite, fresh and just perfect! Yuzi pie 10/10 - This was so yummy, sweet yet tart. Lite hint of citrus, flaky crust with a dusting of sugar. Just, yummy! Strawberry cream bread 9/10 Banana cream bread 9/10 Milk cream bread 7/10 Spinach and feta pastry 8/10 Everything was interesting and tasty!

Really good pastries in South End! I love that they have so many options and have it set up in a cool way too. When you walk in, you get a tray and tongs and grab whatever you want from the cases. Then you bring it to the counter and they bag it up for you. Everything we had was very fresh. My favorite was the vanilla cream filled donut. The cream was perfectly sweetened and they really filled it up! The donut itself was a fluffy texture. I also liked the chocolate filled donut. I wish the cream had a richer chocolate flavor. I wasn't a fan of the mango donut or the almond croissant. The almond croissant had no flavor and there was barely any almond filling inside. I didn't try the spinach feta pastry but my mom said it was really good!

    Courtney S.

This place is wonderful! So many fresh, international bakery items from all across the world. There's a selection of sweet, savory, and breads. I bought a strawberry lychee cloud cake which was phenomenal. The texture is similar to a tres leches cake, with plenty of moisture and flavor. I can't wait to come back to try more things!

The employee was dismissive, openly biased, and 100% arrogant. I was ignored and treated with a complete lack of respect, courtesy, and basic human decency. When I asked to speak with a manager, this employee stated they were working UNSUPERVISED with no manager on duty -- just two employees who looked like high schoolers (or acted as such) and clearly lacked training in customer service. I have worked in the food industry myself, and I would have been fired on the spot for treating a customer with such insolence. What made it worse was that this employee showed impertinence to the highest degree in front of children. This wasn't a trivial request for myself -- it was for a child's birthday cake. Yet no consideration or empathy was shown at all. I will not be returning unless this employee receives the training they clearly lack. Some type of disrespect must be happening inside management for them to allow this kind of behavior from such a classless person. If these actions are allowed to continue, this store cannot progress with employees like this. I hope this issue is resolved. If questioned for this review I highly suggest looking at your security footage to see how your employee literally turned their back on me in the middle of a conversation. This employee's name was: Maria (she could be lying for all I know to save face). Do not recommend and awful ambiance for kids. 실망한 Mr. Chulho Chang

They had offered samples of their lemon tart at the event, which stayed on my mind--so I came back and ordered the Lorraine-style quiche. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced by a fresh side salad. I paired it with a café au lait, which was equally well done. The ambiance is effortlessly chic--very much reminiscent of a European café--and it was lively during lunch. It's the kind of place where you can sit, linger, and people-watch... and SouthPark definitely showed up in style. At one point, several guests seated near us were speaking French, which added to the authenticity and overall experience. Service was warm and efficient, even with the crowd. The bakery itself is on the smaller side--you order inside and then head outside to sit and eat. I went on a Sunday, so it was very busy with a long line, but it moved quickly. When seating fills up, the neighboring restaurant allows use of their patio, which is a thoughtful touch. My friend enjoyed her quiche as well, and we both agreed it's a spot worth returning to--whether for a casual lunch, coffee, or a pastry break. I also order a few macarons to go and my family enjoyed them.

Review for Renaissance Patisserie…read more After relocating to Charlotte from San Francisco, one of the first things I searched for was a proper kouign-amann (pronounced queen-ah-mahn). It's a staple where I'm from, and when I discovered that Renaissance Patisserie carried it, I made the drive immediately. I'm happy to say--this place is the real deal. The kouign-amann here reminded me of the ones back in San Francisco. It wasn't quite as buttery or rich as some of the West Coast versions, but it was absolutely enjoyable--and most importantly, I finished every bite. That alone says a lot. Location & setting: Renaissance is tucked into the upscale specialty shops of SouthPark, in a lovely, polished shopping center surrounded by quality retailers like Williams Sonoma and several restaurants. Parking is plentiful and convenient, and once you step out of your car, you're welcomed into a charming outdoor courtyard that feels relaxed and refined. You'll immediately notice the bright yellow awning--it's cheerful and inviting--and inside, the bakery is just as charming. The black-and-white tile floors, small bistro tables, and beautifully arranged pastry case create a classic European feel. It's not a huge space--maybe six or seven tables--but it feels cozy, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. What makes it special: * A stunning pastry case filled with beautifully crafted desserts and laminated pastries * Skilled bakers and decorators--you can tell there's real craftsmanship behind the products * Friendly, efficient service * Apple Pay accepted (always appreciated) * Self-service water and condiments station * Clean, comfortable environment * A lovely outdoor patio that's perfect when the weather cooperates I do wish they occasionally experimented with more creative variations of the kouign-amann--perhaps seasonal fruit or specialty flavors--but even in its classic form, it's consistently a hit. I've brought these pastries to friends and gatherings, and they're always well received. What I appreciate most is that Renaissance delivers on quality and consistency. It may be a newer trend here in Charlotte, but these pastries have been a long-standing favorite in cities like San Francisco, and it's wonderful to see that level of craftsmanship available locally. Bottom line: Beautiful pastries, fair prices, great service, and a polished, welcoming atmosphere. This has become my go-to bakery in Charlotte, and if you appreciate well-made French pastries, you will not be disappointed.

Review for Amélie's French Bakery & Café…read more As a transplant from the West Coast--specifically San Francisco, where high-quality bakeries and true French pâtisseries are plentiful--I was genuinely excited to try Amélie's after moving to Charlotte. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing, and after giving it more than one chance, it's simply not a place I plan to return to. The concept feels more like a themed destination than a serious bakery. The interior is whimsical and eye-catching, with decorative elements like a faux Eiffel Tower, which clearly appeals to visitors looking for a fun atmosphere. However, if you've spent time in authentic French cafés or bistros, you know the real charm is understated elegance--wood, mirrors, tile, and craftsmanship. This felt more theatrical than authentic. Where it fell short for me was the food. For a place calling itself a French bakery and pâtisserie, the absence of classic laminated pastries was surprising. I was expecting staples like Napoleons, kouign-amann, or beautifully executed croissants. What I found instead were pastries that looked average and lacked the refinement and technique you'd expect from a true pâtisserie. On my visits, I tried: * A leek soup that was supposed to be cream-based but tasted thin and under-seasoned--more like warm vegetable water than a properly developed soup. * A baguette sandwich with fig, Brie, and apple that sounded promising but was poorly executed. The bread was overly hard, and the balance of ingredients felt off, making the sandwich less enjoyable than expected. I gave Amélie's two chances, hoping the second visit would change my impression. It didn't. To be fair, the café clearly has a loyal following and works well as a social or casual gathering spot. But if you're specifically looking for high-quality French pastries or refined bakery craftsmanship, there are stronger options in the Charlotte area. Personally, I'd recommend: * Renaissance Patisserie for more traditional European-style pastries * Paris Baguette at Rea Farms for consistency and better execution * Or trusted local favorites closer to home Bottom line: Fun atmosphere, but the food didn't meet expectations for a French bakery. After multiple visits, it's a pass for me.

That search led me to Vicente in South End, and I'm happy to say it absolutely earned its spot on my list. The kouign-amann here was slightly lighter and a bit less dense and buttery than the ones I remember from the Bay Area, but it still hit all the right notes--caramelized edges, flaky layers, and just enough indulgence to satisfy the craving. When you find one in Charlotte, you take note. I also ordered a frangipane (marzipan) croissant, which is always one of my go-to pastries when it's done well. This one delivered--rich, nutty, and comforting without being overly sweet. I'm not much of a chocolate pastry person, so I tend to gravitate toward custard- or almond-filled items, and this bakery clearly understands how to execute those classics. The space itself is beautiful--clean glass storefront, modern aesthetic, and a welcoming feel from the moment you walk in. It's attached to a large apartment complex with underground parking, which makes it surprisingly easy to access. Very walkable, very convenient, and refreshingly low-stress compared to some of the trendier spots. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the prices felt reasonable for the quality. One small wish: I'd love to see a late-day pastry special or a loyalty program. I'm the kind of regular who will absolutely show up more often if there's an incentive--and let's be honest, pastries are hard to resist when there's a little nudge. I'll definitely be back, especially if they start experimenting with more creative flavors. A kouign-amann with poached fruit--nectarine, mango, or passionfruit--would have me running back through the door. And candidly, I'm grateful Charlotte's pastry scene is still growing. It means there's room for bakeries like this to shine and keep raising the bar. As someone who loves good food, I'm always rooting for local bakers and artisans to succeed. Bottom line: A beautiful neighborhood bakery with solid execution, friendly service, and a kouign-amann worth the trip. I'll be back--and I'm keeping an eye on that pastry case.

The croissant I sampled was dry, implying unkindly that the flaky pastry dough was either formerly frozen or not fresh, and while croissants aren't exactly the moistest pastry to be found, the idea behind making them is kneading and rolling in a lot of butter, which I truly could not taste. What a disappointment. And somehow, somehow, my latte, albeit freshly prepared before me, was lukewarm when I took my first sip on the way to the car. How is that even possible? At the last minute, I asked for caramel to be added to my drink, but that was imperceptible too. I'd forgotten to ask for it to be half sweet, so I guess that was a blessing in disguise. When you stop by a bakery late in the day you sort of pays your money and takes your chances, but I visited just before noon. No crowds either. Disappointing all around, though again, the ambiance invites lingering. Cute bistro, lovely people, but - and I cannot believe I'm saying this - I'd have done better at the nearby Starbucks if all I wanted to do was get a latte and pastry. As the French would say, domage.
