My name was called and I stepped up for my drink. It was so pretty! I took a sip and immediately realized that it was not sweet enough to my liking. I stirred and received the same outcome. I went back to the window and asked for more sweetener. The guy working was apologetic and took my drink back with no complaint. Unfortunately, as he attempted to place my cup on the counter, the cup fell. He apologized again and remade it. He didn't cuss, fuss, or seem angry, he just remade the drink. That really made an impact because I would've expected a bit of frustration and there wasn't any. He remade my drink and explained that how I wanted it made, he had to add one less espresso shot. I thanked him for his patience and remaking my drink. They have great customer service! I give this company two thumbs up.

From the giant checkered flag graphics to the racing-inspired black-and-white design elements and "Fuel Coffee + Beer" branding, the entire store has this energetic Uptown Charlotte vibe that feels very fitting for the city. It's modern, playful, and gives the space a lot more personality than your average grocery store café. I genuinely love this location, especially the coffee bar tucked inside the store. You can grab a nitro cold brew, latte, tea, or matcha and settle into the large seating area with free Wi-Fi and plenty of workspace. Since it's positioned off to the side, it's surprisingly calm and makes for a really nice spot to work remotely or take a break during the day. And yes, the underground parking is absolutely worth mentioning. For Uptown, having covered parking is a luxury. You do have to grab a ticket and validate it before you leave, but once you figure out the system, it's pretty easy. The optical scanner machine is now over by self-checkout, which makes sense traffic-wise, although they honestly could use a second one by the other entrance. Still, once you know the setup, it's smooth. One thing I always appreciate here is how clean and well-stocked everything is. The store itself is basically my version of a candy shop: fresh breads, pastries, cheeses, produce, hot bar, desserts, prepared foods, specialty beverages... it's dangerously easy to come in for "just one thing" and leave with a full basket. The team members are always friendly, and the coffee bar just adds another layer to the experience. It makes grocery shopping feel a little less like an errand and a little more enjoyable. Charlotte, if you haven't checked this location out yet, it's worth a stop -- even if it's just for a coffee, a pastry, and a little people-watching while you soak in the NASCAR-inspired atmosphere.

The Good Cup has a coffee truck making the rounds now to neighborhoods and they post on Instagram where they're going weekly in Matthews.
