Walked in to a very nice, clean but empty place. Greeted by 2 friendly workers and ordered coffee and crepes. A bit disappointing when the coffee comes from a pour machine rather than made by hand. The flavor was bland and blah. The crepes were good. The Maple dream was very sweet and the bacon and cheese really went well together. The Mriachi was very savory and filling, there were a few too many tomatoes for me but the jalapeño sauce was very tasty. We had a crepe place we LOVED in Winston-Salem so when we moved to Charlotte, the hunt for a new crepe place started. We found the spot! Hazelnuts is a cute cafe in the heart of Blakeney shopping center serving up some of the most delicious crepes I've ever had! From sugary sweet to spicy savory, their menu is full of options for every palate. We of course had to try 3 different crepes and honestly, we loved them all. The basil pesto with bacon was *chef's kiss* and I loved the Americana with chipotle aoli. The lemon drop tasted kind of like a Dutch Baby and it was just the perfect dessert style crepe to end our savory adventure. The staff were so friendly and accommodating with it being our first time. Went to get crepes for brunch on a Sunday mid morning. They are a quick service- walk up to the counter to order. They give you a buzzer and you walk up to pick up the food. They have indoor seating as well as outdoor. The restaurant isn't huge but there seemed to be enough seating. They have breakfast crepes as well as sweet, savory and vegetarian. You can get anything gluten free as well. They even had salads. As far as drinks, they had San pelligrino- flavored and regular in a drink case as well as fountain drinks, juices and bottles water. It took about 15-20 minutes after we ordered to get our food but you can watch them make crepes or sit down as you wait. We each got a sweet and a savory crepe. I got the crème de la crepe. It was very sweet but absolutely delicious! We also got the berry delight. That was perfect if you want something sweet but not too sweet. The goat cheese made it not as sweet. Everyone is healthy appearing and looks happy! :-) I watched some young gal, chopped up some fresh strawberries. I went with the Banana Split Sundae Crepes - Truly magnificent. The sweet options were actually a bit more limited, but I went for an indulgent looking banana split crepe, which arrived with a mix of caramel and Nutella and an entire banana, as well as whipped cream and ice cream. It looked like overkill, but I managed to eat it. They have a fair amount of outdoor seating set up. The shopping center is a strange little maze that I wasn't a huge fan of. I recently started going to a new doctors office. On my way from an early morning appointment, I wanted to grab breakfast on my way back home. I checked yelp and saw hazelnut crêperie. The location was hard to find because Waze took my to a location that was actually a block up and around the corner from the true location. But I did eventually find it. Upon entering the location, it is small and quaint. I was quickly greeted by a very enthusiastic young lady, who walked me through the menu and helped me understand the best way to customize a crêpe exactly to my liking. She was an absolute joy! I ended up getting a breakfast crêpe with lots of toppings and jalapeño cream on the side. The crêpe was called an americana, and we switched out a few toppings, but it came out delicious! Then, because I was planning ahead, I got the banana berry, and Nutella crêpe to have later in the day as a little sweet snack. Both crapes were packed up to go after I watched the crêperie ladies make them. I got them home unsure how well they would've traveled. They were both still perfect and delicious. This spot will definitely be a go to spot for me from here on out when I go to that doctors office. Definitely check out the hazelnut crêperie! read more

Came here on vacation for some breakfast brunch. Inside an outdoor mall area called Blakeney Town Center. Not fancy time just casual wake up and eat amazing crepes. They have both savory or sweet crepes options and some like bacon egg with maple butter on them for little mix of both. They have some coffee, hot chocolate and frozen options but unfortunatly no matcha options. The two we got were both savory crepes. I got one with olives, goat cheese, meat ( I forget which kind) but I will say very very good. A little bit of a southern/ mediterranean flavor. My friend got one with chipotle chicken, avocado, lettuce, tomato. So a bit of a tex mexy flavor. Also very good but I prefered mine. Top two crepe places iv'e been to so far. This place has so many great options for crepes - whether you want something sweet or savory, breakfast, lunch, or dessert, they've got an option for you! I usually have a sweet tooth, but I have enjoyed the savory crepes more than the sweet ones here so far. On my latest trip here, I tried the Pig & Swiss Crepe (egg, Swiss Cheese, bacon, mushrooms, spinach, and red onion, $10.25). It was absolutely beautiful and delicious. The crepe had the perfect crisp to it when I cut into it with a knife. Even my husband, who normally hates mushrooms, liked the crepe! I also tried The Mariachi Crepe (egg, mozzarella, bacon, avocado, black beans, tomato, red onion, and jalapeño cream, $10.75), which tasted great, especially the avocado. Everything just blended so well together. There's usually a line here, and while it does not take long to put in your order, sometimes it can take awhile to receive your order. They have had a sign indicating that they are hiring for all positions for at least the last year, so I do not hold the wait time against them. However, several of the few tables that are available indoors have been noticeably dirty the last few times I have been here. It is mostly up to the costumers to keep them clean. And yet, they ask for tip in a manner that broadcasts to everyone else who is in line or dining indoors. We have tipped every time, but I do not need this to be announced in such a way that when the next customer chooses not to tip, it becomes very obvious. Besides, costumers are basically tipping for self-service. I also wish they had more seating. They have a handful of tables inside and a few outside. Otherwise, I have been pretty satisfied with my experiences here between the good food and the friendly staff. read more

During a shopping expedition at Blakeney, decided to stop in to try one of their dessert crepes. I've tried their savory crepe long time ago at 7th Street Market uptown, but never their dessert crepes...so this time, I chose "Creme de la Crepe"...adding Ice Cream and Graham Crackers. Well, I picked a good one...'cuz it was SO Good!! I vowed to eat only half, but I knew that was impossible after a few bites. The place is rather small, with limited seating, but seemingly clean. I also loved the overhead music...great choice! Unfortunately, there was a 3-year-old that screamed half the time we were there, so that sort of ruined the experience. As old as I am, this was my first crepe ever!! So needless to say, this could have decided if I'd ever have one again. Well it was a success. The crepe I tried had bacon, egg and cheese with maple syrup and powder sugar. I thought it was awesome. My daughter had one with caramel and apples. It had ice cream too. It looked good, but I wasn't in the mood for anything that sweet. I felt like it was cooked just right! Only complaint is that there was barely any filling. I know it's supposed to be thin and all, but I would have liked some bacon in every bite. The prices are not bad and it's doesn't take too long to make your order. Situated, in what I would call a chic little shopping center, in Blakeney, Hazelnuts is a small creperie that packs big flavor in their creations. There aren't too many restaurants in this area dedicated to crepes, so this delight was a welcomed change from my normal breakfast routine. It is a small shop, so hopefully you get in when it's not too crowded and you are able to get a table. When there is nice weather, there are also tables outside in front that can be used as well. 80's classic rock was playing over the speakers (a plus in my book). Looking at what other patrons were enjoying, the sweet crepes look like something you'd want to put on Instagram. While my Mariachi crepe, from the breakfast menu, is not something that would win a picture contest, its flavor well could. The fresh and creamy avocado with the jalapeño cream was a winning flavor combo for me. If your favorite Mexican restaurant decided to put their best burrito into crepe form, you'd get the Mariachi; it was delicious. My suggestions: 1) The tables need to be wiped down more regularly. Nearly every table maintained a little something from a previous diner. 2) Ditch the paper ware. While it is simple and easy to have disposable everything, having actual plates, forks, and knives would really elevate this place. 3) Stop loudly asking patrons if they want to leave a tip. Previously a waiter myself, I am generally pretty liberal with my tipping. When I go to a restaurant where you order your food from the counter Chipotle style, immediately pay, and there is no actual waiter service, I am less inclined to tip a full 20%. If your point of service register provides the option for a patron to leave a tip, you do not need to announce it when a client is paying. Just let them see the screen and make their choice without announcing it in this small establishment for everyone to hear. read more

This place is wonderful! Crepes can be made gluten feee, and you have options to fill with meats, veggies, and sweets! I had the chipotle chicken, and crepe was just so light and delicious, and the filling with chicken and salad was so fresh! Also tried the chicken basil, equally delicious. Food comes out pretty quick considering they make it fresh in front of you. Plenty of room to sit inside and eat for groups of 4, and some tables outside.
