Chocolate chip cookie, raspberry pop tart, smores brownie
Ryan C.

I was blown away! I love chocolate chip cookies and have eaten so many of them and this one immediately jumped into my top 5. They somehow made it taste like cookie dough and not in an underbaked way. The raspberry poptart and smores brownie were delicious as well. If I lived closer I would visit all the time!

Chocolate puddle cookie

Absolutely delicious chocolate puddle cookie! It tastes like they baked a candy bar right in the middle of a chocolate chip cookie! The atmosphere was adores! Cool vibe, laid back and family friendly. A small kitchen graces the wall with select seating. The owner was gracious, attentive, and gave attention to each customer. You felt like a guest in this well appointed speciality shop. The freshness was above par. They have eats from cookies, to brownies, scones, and cakes! Check out the batch matcher today!

This is the cutest little bakery. It's comfy cozy and homey. There's so much to see, and a great selection of treats. The lady taking the orders was really nice, and provided great recommendations. Awesome customer service. I ordered the oatmeal cream pie. It's a little pricy but oh so worth it. Listen, when I tell you this was THE best homeade oatmeal pie...oh.my. goodness! Little Debbie has been permanently replaced. The oatmeal did not have the doughy floury after taste that I've tasted in other homemade oatmeal cookies. It was a large, thick, soft and chewy. It was so perfect to me. I can't wait to go back and try other selections.

First of all... How freaking cute is this bakery! We noticed the bakery and decided to give it a try, and I'm so happy we did! Honestly, everything looked so good and I was totally over stimulated, but the cashier was really nice and let us know what some of the fan favorites were, which helped us narrow down our options! I ordered the smores brownie for my son, he scarfed it down and said it was delicious! I ordered the chocolate chunk cookie, and boy was it scrumptious! It was firm yet chewy with big milk chocolate chunks, just YUM! A good chocolate chip cookie is so hard to come across but they got it right here for sure! My friend ordered the oatmeal pie and said it was the best freshly baked oatmeal pie she's ever had! We both regret not getting more goodies, but will definitely be back to snag more goodies!

BEST treats you'll find!! I still dream about the oatmeal cream pies and the oreo truffle cookies even though I don't live in North Carolina anymore. If you're reading this, please go enjoy some for me!!

Anytime I go to a new bakery I typically get a few different things, and like maybe 1 or 2 items. Not the case here!! I got a s'mores brownie, puddle cookie, Oreo truffle cookie and oatmeal cream pie and every. Single. Thing. Was perfect. The cookies were soft and just the best texture and flavor. I was afraid the oatmeal cream pie cookie was going to be hard because that thing has some weight, but it was just as soft as the other cookies! The brownie was everything I could've hoped for and more. Highly recommend!!

I loved all of the treats! Each one was so good. This was a thoughtful gift from a friend, and now I can't wait to visit Batch House myself. I've already heard so many great things about their desserts, and this experience definitely lived up to the hype. I'm excited to check out the atmosphere in person and try even more of their delicious goodies!

What a gem of a bakery in Charlotte! I have been impressed by every baked good I've tried here. The millionaire cookie might just be the best cookie I've ever eaten. If you crave sweet and salty treats, this cookie is for you. The s'mores brownie was another highlight - decadent, chocolatey, and perfectly fudgy. It's the perfect brownie! The oatmeal cream pie was also life-changing (and definitely large enough to share). Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the treats at The Batchmaker - every treat is baked to perfection. The interior is super cute and I adored the Golden Girls-themed bathroom (!). There is also a nice outdoor space with plentiful seating to enjoy your baked goods. When I visited, they only offered black coffee. It would have been nice to have an option for milk, but the coffee was solid. (There's also a coffee shop across the street.) The staff member who helped me on my recent visit wasn't super friendly, which differed significantly from my first visit. But overall, this is a splendid bakery that Charlotte is lucky to have!

COMOSELLAMA Cake - 10/10

Cannot believe I haven't done a review on this place yet! Batchmaker is the absolute best of the best! The goods, the aesthetics, the employees = all absolute gems. We order Batchmaker for every event in our family. Cakes for bdays, cookies for parties and graduations, pies for holidays and yet we can never have enough! A treat from Batchmaker is the best part of any day, or week, for me!

Amazing baked goods and friendly service. I stopped in this morning and was pleasantly greeted by the employee who gave me plenty of time to decide what I wanted and answered a few questions. (They have a number of options and all of them look amazing so trying to only pick 2-3 was a tall task) I opted for the s'mores brownie, Oreo truffle sandwich, and peanut butter cup cookie. I have no negatives to say about any of these. The brownie was incredible - so chocolatey, soft, and moist. The cookies were gooey and flavorful and left me wanting to go back and try even more options!

Mini oatmeal creme pies, mini s'mores brownies, mini mixed berry pop tarts
Miranda A.

We used The Batchmaker for my wedding and it was a HIT! We did a variety of minis - oatmeal creme pies, s'mores brownies, mixed berry pop tarts, and lemon bars along with a small wedding cake for just the groom and I which was the caramel apple cake decorated in a mild vintage fashion. First of all, for being "mini" the pieces were very substantial, especially when compared to the catering mini desserts options we looked at. These were probably twice the size if not more! Secondly, everything was delicious!!! I think the oatmeal creme pies were the biggest hit, but I personally could eat 1000 of the s'mores brownies! Also the cake was top notch. So moist, really delicious caramel apple flavor and the decorations were exactly what I had pictured in my head. Overall I would absolutely recommend using The Batchmaker for weddings & more of you want your guests to rave about the desserts! Thank you Cris!

I have yet to visit in person, but I was recently the recipient of a box of goodies from here. I was so excited because I've been wanting to try for awhile!! I tasted the s'mores brownie, a chocolate puddle cookie and gave hubby a Oreo truffle chocolate chip cookie and oatmeal cream pie cookie. Not only was I excited to see the goodies in the box but I loved them all. The brownies were ama ing. They weigh like 10 lbs each too .. joking but not really. The marshmallow on top was chef's kiss. I still wanna visit in person. I think this is the perfect choice to grab a variety of snacks to take to a party or girls night in, or whatever, really. I plan to try some other options when I visit.

Oatmeal crème pie, chocolate puddle cookie, cookie butter cookie and peanut butter brownie

Cutest bakery in Charlotte! I have been wanting to try this for so long but I'm never in the area during the open hours. I finally decided to make a trip over and it was so good! The place is super cute. I love all the floral and pink decor. I got there half an hour before they closed on a Sunday, and they still had a lot of desserts left. I picked a few different pastries to share with my family. My favorite was the cookie butter cookie. I loved the soft texture and it was loaded with cookie butter! The chocolate puddle cookie was also amazing! It tasted like cookie dough. The oatmeal crème pie was the perfect texture and I loved the marshmallow crème filling. The peanut butter brownie was a little too salty for me. I'm a huge fan of peanut butter but I like my desserts sweeter, but the brownie itself was super rich and fudgy! Overall, everything was amazing and I hope to go there again soon and try other amazing desserts!

The employee was dismissive, openly biased, and 100% arrogant. I was ignored and treated with a complete lack of respect, courtesy, and basic human decency. When I asked to speak with a manager, this employee stated they were working UNSUPERVISED with no manager on duty -- just two employees who looked like high schoolers (or acted as such) and clearly lacked training in customer service. I have worked in the food industry myself, and I would have been fired on the spot for treating a customer with such insolence. What made it worse was that this employee showed impertinence to the highest degree in front of children. This wasn't a trivial request for myself -- it was for a child's birthday cake. Yet no consideration or empathy was shown at all. I will not be returning unless this employee receives the training they clearly lack. Some type of disrespect must be happening inside management for them to allow this kind of behavior from such a classless person. If these actions are allowed to continue, this store cannot progress with employees like this. I hope this issue is resolved. If questioned for this review I highly suggest looking at your security footage to see how your employee literally turned their back on me in the middle of a conversation. This employee's name was: Maria (she could be lying for all I know to save face). Do not recommend and awful ambiance for kids. 실망한 Mr. Chulho Chang

The mango smoothie was absolutely disgusting. It had a weird after taste and had a very weird chemically taste to it. I was definitely not a fan and would not recommend getting a smoothie from here. I threw it away after a couple sips. So gross. Probably the worst smoothie I have ever had. There are lots of cute baked items here so maybe people should just go here for that. Wanted to try the honey dew bread but they were out. My friend got the pumpkin spice matcha and said it was okay but had a weird taste to it. Whatever they use to clean their machines is not good. I would not come back.

They had offered samples of their lemon tart at the event, which stayed on my mind--so I came back and ordered the Lorraine-style quiche. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced by a fresh side salad. I paired it with a café au lait, which was equally well done. The ambiance is effortlessly chic--very much reminiscent of a European café--and it was lively during lunch. It's the kind of place where you can sit, linger, and people-watch... and SouthPark definitely showed up in style. At one point, several guests seated near us were speaking French, which added to the authenticity and overall experience. Service was warm and efficient, even with the crowd. The bakery itself is on the smaller side--you order inside and then head outside to sit and eat. I went on a Sunday, so it was very busy with a long line, but it moved quickly. When seating fills up, the neighboring restaurant allows use of their patio, which is a thoughtful touch. My friend enjoyed her quiche as well, and we both agreed it's a spot worth returning to--whether for a casual lunch, coffee, or a pastry break. I also order a few macarons to go and my family enjoyed them.

Review for Renaissance Patisserie…read more After relocating to Charlotte from San Francisco, one of the first things I searched for was a proper kouign-amann (pronounced queen-ah-mahn). It's a staple where I'm from, and when I discovered that Renaissance Patisserie carried it, I made the drive immediately. I'm happy to say--this place is the real deal. The kouign-amann here reminded me of the ones back in San Francisco. It wasn't quite as buttery or rich as some of the West Coast versions, but it was absolutely enjoyable--and most importantly, I finished every bite. That alone says a lot. Location & setting: Renaissance is tucked into the upscale specialty shops of SouthPark, in a lovely, polished shopping center surrounded by quality retailers like Williams Sonoma and several restaurants. Parking is plentiful and convenient, and once you step out of your car, you're welcomed into a charming outdoor courtyard that feels relaxed and refined. You'll immediately notice the bright yellow awning--it's cheerful and inviting--and inside, the bakery is just as charming. The black-and-white tile floors, small bistro tables, and beautifully arranged pastry case create a classic European feel. It's not a huge space--maybe six or seven tables--but it feels cozy, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. What makes it special: * A stunning pastry case filled with beautifully crafted desserts and laminated pastries * Skilled bakers and decorators--you can tell there's real craftsmanship behind the products * Friendly, efficient service * Apple Pay accepted (always appreciated) * Self-service water and condiments station * Clean, comfortable environment * A lovely outdoor patio that's perfect when the weather cooperates I do wish they occasionally experimented with more creative variations of the kouign-amann--perhaps seasonal fruit or specialty flavors--but even in its classic form, it's consistently a hit. I've brought these pastries to friends and gatherings, and they're always well received. What I appreciate most is that Renaissance delivers on quality and consistency. It may be a newer trend here in Charlotte, but these pastries have been a long-standing favorite in cities like San Francisco, and it's wonderful to see that level of craftsmanship available locally. Bottom line: Beautiful pastries, fair prices, great service, and a polished, welcoming atmosphere. This has become my go-to bakery in Charlotte, and if you appreciate well-made French pastries, you will not be disappointed.

Review for Amélie's French Bakery & Café…read more As a transplant from the West Coast--specifically San Francisco, where high-quality bakeries and true French pâtisseries are plentiful--I was genuinely excited to try Amélie's after moving to Charlotte. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing, and after giving it more than one chance, it's simply not a place I plan to return to. The concept feels more like a themed destination than a serious bakery. The interior is whimsical and eye-catching, with decorative elements like a faux Eiffel Tower, which clearly appeals to visitors looking for a fun atmosphere. However, if you've spent time in authentic French cafés or bistros, you know the real charm is understated elegance--wood, mirrors, tile, and craftsmanship. This felt more theatrical than authentic. Where it fell short for me was the food. For a place calling itself a French bakery and pâtisserie, the absence of classic laminated pastries was surprising. I was expecting staples like Napoleons, kouign-amann, or beautifully executed croissants. What I found instead were pastries that looked average and lacked the refinement and technique you'd expect from a true pâtisserie. On my visits, I tried: * A leek soup that was supposed to be cream-based but tasted thin and under-seasoned--more like warm vegetable water than a properly developed soup. * A baguette sandwich with fig, Brie, and apple that sounded promising but was poorly executed. The bread was overly hard, and the balance of ingredients felt off, making the sandwich less enjoyable than expected. I gave Amélie's two chances, hoping the second visit would change my impression. It didn't. To be fair, the café clearly has a loyal following and works well as a social or casual gathering spot. But if you're specifically looking for high-quality French pastries or refined bakery craftsmanship, there are stronger options in the Charlotte area. Personally, I'd recommend: * Renaissance Patisserie for more traditional European-style pastries * Paris Baguette at Rea Farms for consistency and better execution * Or trusted local favorites closer to home Bottom line: Fun atmosphere, but the food didn't meet expectations for a French bakery. After multiple visits, it's a pass for me.

That search led me to Vicente in South End, and I'm happy to say it absolutely earned its spot on my list. The kouign-amann here was slightly lighter and a bit less dense and buttery than the ones I remember from the Bay Area, but it still hit all the right notes--caramelized edges, flaky layers, and just enough indulgence to satisfy the craving. When you find one in Charlotte, you take note. I also ordered a frangipane (marzipan) croissant, which is always one of my go-to pastries when it's done well. This one delivered--rich, nutty, and comforting without being overly sweet. I'm not much of a chocolate pastry person, so I tend to gravitate toward custard- or almond-filled items, and this bakery clearly understands how to execute those classics. The space itself is beautiful--clean glass storefront, modern aesthetic, and a welcoming feel from the moment you walk in. It's attached to a large apartment complex with underground parking, which makes it surprisingly easy to access. Very walkable, very convenient, and refreshingly low-stress compared to some of the trendier spots. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the prices felt reasonable for the quality. One small wish: I'd love to see a late-day pastry special or a loyalty program. I'm the kind of regular who will absolutely show up more often if there's an incentive--and let's be honest, pastries are hard to resist when there's a little nudge. I'll definitely be back, especially if they start experimenting with more creative flavors. A kouign-amann with poached fruit--nectarine, mango, or passionfruit--would have me running back through the door. And candidly, I'm grateful Charlotte's pastry scene is still growing. It means there's room for bakeries like this to shine and keep raising the bar. As someone who loves good food, I'm always rooting for local bakers and artisans to succeed. Bottom line: A beautiful neighborhood bakery with solid execution, friendly service, and a kouign-amann worth the trip. I'll be back--and I'm keeping an eye on that pastry case.

The inside was immaculate and beckoning, with a two-sided display of the offerings and a shining espresso machine behind the register. The workers bore welcoming smiles and a a polite, inviting nature. All of that is the reason I give this patisserie three stars instead of two. While some foods are still a mystery to me - barbecue I can just take or leave, mostly leave - I know coffee and I know baked goods. The croissant I sampled was dry, implying unkindly that the flaky pastry dough was either formerly frozen or not fresh, and while croissants aren't exactly the moistest pastry to be found, the idea behind making them is kneading and rolling in a lot of butter, which I truly could not taste. What a disappointment. And somehow, somehow, my latte, albeit freshly prepared before me, was lukewarm when I took my first sip on the way to the car. How is that even possible? At the last minute, I asked for caramel to be added to my drink, but that was imperceptible too. I'd forgotten to ask for it to be half sweet, so I guess that was a blessing in disguise. When you stop by a bakery late in the day you sort of pays your money and takes your chances, but I visited just before noon. No crowds either. Disappointing all around, though again, the ambiance invites lingering. Cute bistro, lovely people, but - and I cannot believe I'm saying this - I'd have done better at the nearby Starbucks if all I wanted to do was get a latte and pastry. As the French would say, domage.
