Third time was a charm for us. We were striking out with coffee shops. We had great service and mediocre coffee then terrible coffee and ok service. And finally, we found Wildroots. The location is on the lower floor of an office building. It has an adorable retro/vintage 70s Flower Child vibe. The ambiance was relaxing and inviting. Now on to the matters of caffeine. The espresso was perfect. Something we had not had since our arrival. Cortado was great, drip coffee was great, and their latte.... Let me tell you about their latte. I had a carrot cake with cream cheese cold foam. I asked for half the syrup. It was delicious, perfection, amazing. One day I had it hot, the next I had it iced, both were incredible. If I were guaranteed not to go into a sugar spiral, I would drink the cold foam straight. Now I'm preparing to go back tomorrow. Update: We came back two more times before we left NC. No regrets! We finally found an amazing coffee shop and that was important. Also, they make a fantastic Cloud Matcha AND they often watermelon seed milk aka MILKish. This is a game changer. My updated review for the second time stopping in! 10 out of 10 out of 10!!! I absolutely love this place especially this location! It's easy to park (they even validate your parking for 90 mins or so!), they have seasonal drinks that are actually good and the food is great for a coffee shop! I got the That's Amore and avocado toast this visit. The last time I got the breakfast sandwich! The avocado toast is topped with olive oil, which makes it so delicious! It's beautifully decorated, the seating is comfortable and the staff is very helpful especially when it comes to recommendations! If you can't find seating there is more seating toward the bathrooms and it's nice because they are booths! It's my understanding they make some of their syrups which I love because you know they are fresh, and to me that means they take pride in the quality of their drinks. Discovered this coffee shop through TikTok! My friend and I tried their festive beverages together this morning -- Candy Cane Forest and Cookies for Santa. I was pleasantly surprised by both beverages and can't wait to try Mama's Gingerbread before the holiday menu changes. If you're thinking of checking this place out, the E. Morehead Street location validates parking, which is convenient! There is a black machine to scan your parking ticket located near the cash register. Also, the employees were very kind and did a fantastic job with the festive decor. For the social media page, I'd recommend adding a story highlight or pinning a post with the current seasonal menu! It was a little tricky to find their festive beverages and I think incorporating this could make it easier for customers. That's the only thing I can think of to make this review 5-stars. Stopped by the other day with my puppy, mom, and sister. Loved that it was pet friendly and that they had seating inside and outside. My mom and I each ordered a carrot cake latte and they were delish! They were topped off with cream cheese cold foam and a little bunny graham cracker too. So cute! First time here and it's kinda a hidden gem. Park in the parking deck as you do get your parking validated. It's kinda a small space with not that many seating. They have a limited menu. I can't remember if they serve food or snack. Service is self serve. First time here and I got the crème brûlée matcha and it was actually delicious. Very excited to discover a great coffee shop near my new office! Wildroots is located on East Morehead Street in an area which could be described as the border between Uptown and Southend and just a short walk from the Dowd YMCA. To get to the cafe you need to enter the office building as it is located in the lobby. It might be small but it has an awesome retro vibe and they make some great coffee along with some fun seasonal beverages and creative lattes. I most recently tried the Cloud latte with cold foam and it was just what I needed as a refreshing afternoon pick me up. This is one of the recommended coffee shops when I was doing research for coffee shops on TikTok. The first day that we got here, we ordered the Key Lime Pie latte and the Chocolate Chip Cookie latte. I love that they're not too sweet and the flavors are very distinct. The following day, since we were heading towards Raleigh, we drop by this coffee shop to order the Banana Pudding latte. I tasted the pudding first before mixing it with the drink and it was so delicious! It's not too sweet so I didn't feel like I was just ingesting dessert for breakfast. When mixed with the coffee, it didn't make the coffee too sweet but just added that perfect banana pudding flavor. The staff were super nice and friendly. They told about us about how they make the banana pudding themselves, which made me excited to try it! The space has a very retro feel - like the 60s or 70s! If I remember correctly, it's inside an office building so there were several employees getting coffee there. Talk about groovy ! This coffee shop is a true hidden gem ! It's a 70's themed coffee shop myself & a friend stopped into yesterday and it's super cute inside and so on theme ! Inside you will see nostalgic items like a record player and they have the cutest private booths towards the back with beads draping from them from just like back in the day . I remember my grandparents having those in their doorway lol . Get there early enough to swag one of the coolest seats in the house ! The specialty drinks are so fun I ordered the lucky charms lavender latte and it was actually good I wasn't expecting much but it was pretty darn tasty ! SOOOO adorable!!!!! A must visit. I am already counting down the days until I can come back!!! Absolutely adorable decor and aesthetic I am obsessed! They did a phenomenal job decorating this place. The seasonal menu was so cool with a bunch of great flavor options. My group got the Gingerbread Latte with oat milk and the Peppermint Mocha and both were delicious. We also got the iced latte with their maple syrup and it was incredible. Their ingredients taste so pure and authentic, not the synthetic and overly commercial stuff that other coffee shops use. I wasn't a huge fan of Wild Roots. I was really excited to try it after checking out the menu and photos it looked like a unique and stylish spot. The location is convenient, with free parking for the first hour or so in the garage, and I believe they offer validation as well. However, I found the drinks to be more on the gimmicky side being very visually appealing but overpriced & underwhelming in flavor. I was especially disappointed with the coffee, which was watery with absolutely no depth. I had expected something much richer and more memorable. I'm not sure who out there is making a better Strawberry Matcha than Wild Roots right now. The Strawberry Shortcake is a spring special and is DELICIOUS. It tastes exactly like the ice cream bar. I loved it so much that I went back and got a simpler, less sweet version and it was just as flavorful. Also the 70's interior and friendly service make this such a fun spot to grab your morning pick me up. I will say the first time I went there was a bit of a wait since there was only one barista, so be prepared for that on occasion. This place is adorable, bright and fun! I've been wanting to come here for a while so a meeting popped up and I suggested this spot. It's inside a building near uptown with an attached garage. Luckily they do validate parking for an hour or two, I can't recall the exact details. But the fact that they do validate was amazing. It's really so cute inside, you could work here all day and just enjoy the scenery. They have real plants and little cubbies you can relax in. The young lady behind the counter was super nice and helpful. I ordered a latte and since it was Halloween they had these themed cups that I just adored lol. I think they usually have pastries but they were out that day. That's really my only complaint cause I was hungry lol. Wildroots is the cutest hidden gem! They have such delicious coffee and I love how they always go all out with holiday themes! My friend introduced me to this place recently and I had to try something off of their fall menu so I grabbed a dirt and worms iced latte. They have such creative menu items and I love that you can choose which mug you get if you dine in. The service has always been great here, everyone is super friendly! They also validate your parking for an hour I believe if you park in the deck attached to the building (which really helps with how crazy parking is in that area). I was a bit disappointed compared to what I was expecting from reviews/images. They had amazing photos of matchas but were out of matcha when I came. Menu wasn't even visible, I had to ask for it. The staff was friendly, just didn't seem organized. Coffee was actually good but just coming here for coffee felt generic. I got avocado toast, that looked like generic cafeteria food, for $10. My husband and I enjoyed our coffee from here and will likely return. We came on a weekday morning to pick up some drinks before our walk around one of the local parks. The menu is neat and simple.. not overwhelming.. so it's easy to make a decision. I had a pumpkin spice latter for $5 and change. It had a nice variety of spices and was not overly sweet. I could also taste the pumpkin purée - which I like! Parking in the garage is validated! Cute little space to work in or just hang out. They are moving soon as the building they are in was recently sold which is unfortunate since it's so cute - kinda like an industrial garage turned into a funky coffee house! Hubby tried the mushroom coffee and liked it - it's called Chagaccino! Notes of chocolate cinnamon and other spices! My latte was made with oat milk and no foam just like I prefer. I've been to wildroots now three times. The first two the coffee wasn't very good, the cold foam they make using a cheap Nespresso brother so it comes out super grainy and not good, and for an $8 coffee you would expect frother. The last time I went I didn't get foam and the coffee was okay. Unfortunately I did meet the owner and she had zero customer service, was super rude and just overall not pleasant. Much better coffee shops in Charlotte, and they don't charge $8 for a latte. read more

Bad coffee and worse service. To start, the coffee is not good. It's bad espresso quality covered up with overly sweet syrups, foams, and desserts. This is the kind of place for people who pretend to like coffee but really just like sugary drinks. People who are going there definitely only care about the aesthetic and not the coffee. On top of that, the staff was rude. I walked in and the girl immediately barked "just so you know we close in 45 minutes" then treated my business like an inconvenience the entire time. The drink I got had sugary syrup completely caked at the bottom of the cup. I asked for a straw so I could stir it up and the barista looked at me like I had just asked her to lift a pile of bricks. She told me they were out of straws... so I asked her if she had a spoon to stir the drink. Suddenly, the other barista working said "oh we have more straws in the back, I'll go get you one." The baristas glared at me the rest of the time I was there almost as if they were trying to make me feel uncomfortable so I'd leave (mind you they still didn't close for 30 more minutes).
