Pistacio cheese cake, cold brew cardamom tea

I love all Haraz coffee cafe's around Charlotte. They are so polite and elegant and demure. It's such a lovely experience. It's just an elegantly run place. The coffees are divine, the pastries and cakes are divine. The decor is so modern and adorable. This location has really cool murals depicting Middle East scenes. They had the beautiful copper coffee on display which brings me right back to Istanbul. I always make a U turn to come in and chill at Haraz. I love that they're open til 11pm many nights. Let's gate keep it

Salted Caramel Latte
Lydia O.

I was genuinely excited to see this location open because the Biscoff latte is one of the only coffee drinks I actually enjoy. I'm not a coffee drinker, so when I find something I like, I tend to stick with it. On my way to work this morning, I ordered an iced Biscoff latte. After a longer-than-expected wait, I was handed a Biscoff matcha instead. When I pointed out that it wasn't what I ordered, I was told this location doesn't carry the Biscoff latte, so it was assumed I meant the Biscoff cloud matcha. That response was honestly more confusing than the mistake itself. A latte and a matcha are completely different drinks. If an item isn't available, the expectation should be to let the customer know before making it--not to guess what they might want instead. From there, the interaction became frustrating. I explained multiple times that I don't drink matcha and that the Biscoff latte is really the only coffee drink I order. Rather than simply acknowledging the misunderstanding, I felt like I was being encouraged to accept the matcha or choose something else. By that point, I had already made it clear that I didn't want another drink. Honestly, after explaining that several times, I would have much preferred to just receive a refund instead of feeling pressured to settle for something I knew I wasn't going to enjoy. Since I was already running late for work, I eventually agreed to a salted caramel latte just so I could leave. As expected, it wasn't for me, and it ended up going to waste. It was a frustrating experience that ultimately cost me both time and money. I do want to give credit where it's due. The two ladies working were kind, polite, and clearly trying to help. My complaint isn't about their attitude--it was about the lack of communication and the way the situation was handled. A simple, "I'm sorry, we don't carry that drink at this location. Would you like to try something else?" would have prevented the entire experience. Additionally, if they can make a salted caramel latte I don't understand why they couldn't make a biscoff latte. I've always had positive experiences at the other locations, so this visit was especially disappointing. I hope the staff receives a little more training on communicating menu differences and confirming substitutions before preparing an order. I'd like to give this location another chance eventually because I've had such good experiences elsewhere, but after this visit, it probably won't be anytime soon.

Kronuts

Delicious coffee and quick and friendly service! The coffee shop is so cute inside and there are a couple tables outside as well. I didn't get a chance to try the kronuts and other pastries but next time I'm here I will definitely be getting one! The drinks are gorgeous, definitely insta-worthy!

Iced White Mocha Latte with regular sweetener
Jasmyn O.

I wish Haraz got here years ago- their dining area is nice with creamy delicious matchas. I've tried their strawberry, peach , pistachio, and lavender flavored matchas (no shocker- I'm addicted) lol. I have also tasted their iced white mocha latte and it was very sweet for a "regular"sweetened drink. Any time you place an order, you can customize your beverage sweetness. Their service is a little slow when they're busy but that's ok- it's worth the wait lol. There's tables to sit at while you wait.

Haraz Coffee, Mango Dragonfruit Refresher, Strawberry Lemonade Refresher, and Dragonfruit Matcha

Haraz Coffee House is a Yemeni coffee house that serves various drinks and desserts! The interior is cute and the vibes are lively or calming depending on the hour. Service was also quick. My friends and I got the Haraz Coffee, Mango Dragonfruit Refresher, Strawberry Lemonade Refresher, and Dragonfruit Matcha. I personally got the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher which was really flavorful and tasty! I would come back to try one of their coffees.

Cute place, great atmosphere and service. Sampled the coffee and bakery items, both of which will make me come back for more.

THIS PLACE WAS WAAAY MORE THAN I expected, it was AWESOME! We were greeted with smiles immediately upon entering, the pastries were delicious and the coffee was THE BEST I've EVER HAD. I didn't want to leave! I've been telling everyone about this coffee shop, and it will be our go to whenever we're in the Charlotte area. Amazing!

Everything bagel pastry

This was my first time to Haraz Coffee, and I can't wait to come back! I opted for the everything bagel pastry, which has flaky dough and cream cheese inside. Had it warmed up and it was fantastic! I also went with a pistachio latte with almond milk, hot. Also delicious, tasted a bit exotic, and just what I was looking for. So yummy! The vibe here is fantastic, it feels very elegant and there is lots of seating. Free parking out front as well. An amazing coffee shop and a real gem here in uptown, Charlotte!

Mango and Lavender Matcha
David D.

Wanted some matcha and originally was gonna goto a boba tea shop that was next door. Then we saw a sign for all the matcha drinks that Haraz had. So we went in and checked them out. The inside looks very swanky and the employees was very nice. We got a mango match and a lavender matcha. The mango matcha was ok, nothing special. The flavors kind of fought each other. The lavender Matcha though 10/10. The flavor meld together so well and it had a hint of spices at the end. They also have some bakery items and sandwiches. Definitely will come back to try other stuff!

Bright, quiet coffee shop with beautifully prepared servings of yumminess! I enjoyed the vibe and service was adequate. There were places to sit to socialize or work quietly. They have pastries, and other small bites as well.

The coffee and bakery items were delicious, very unique offerings and overall a very cool experience. They have lovely decor and a spacious seating area with a variety of options for groups or solo patrons. Definitely a must-visit coffee shop!

Big fan of this spot!!!! Any pastries I've had are always delicious. Specifically the spinach and feta- stuffed fluffy goodness.

Great food, great people, great service…read more I enjoyed the chicken kebab with yellow rice and lentil soup. Great stuff.

AVOID THIS LOCATION!…read more My family that resides in Clt started coming to this location because of the proximity to their house, but after this past visit on June 20th, none of us will ever be back again after the absolute awful service! And, as anyone knows, you can have amazing food, but if the people and service are terrible that can ruin any dining experience! We were sat in an almost empty restaurant just after 8pm; the waiter came to take our order and was very engaging initially. We were a party of 6, so we were going to order 4 diff apps prior to the mixed grill which is what we always get. We ordered the hummus, falafel (2 orders because only 6 come per order), baba ganoush, and beef sambousa. We were told they were "out" of the baba ganoush & sambousas cuz they would have to make them and it would take like an hr...this sounded odd cuz umm, don't you make all your food to order?? This immediately put both my stepmom (who is Moroccan) and myself off and we were actually going to leave, but we were introducing my brother's GF to this ethnic food style & him + my dad convinced us to stay, so we just added salad and lentil bean soups). We ordered drinks (the GF & I were the only ones that didn't order sodas; she ordered a pot of Karak tea for her + I to share & I ordered a sparkling water). After 10mins no drinks in sight we were like "ummm?" then at just over 15mins they brought us the apps but no drinks?!? The drinks came separately a few mins later...all except the tea. For $3 on the menu I expected a bottled sparkling water, instead I got flat water from the soda fountain. I told the waiter this and he said he'd try again and if it wasn't "sparkling" then what did I want to drink instead...I said just a filtered water w/lemon. We were missing an order of falafel (were told they only had the one order and would have to wait for the 2nd, so we just canceled it; again whyTF did they not have anything on the menu at 8pm on a Sat!?) and they only brought one basket of pita for the hummus; we asked for a 2nd basket. The lentil soup (my stepmom makes better at home) + salads were mid at best. 20mins later they bring the main course, but we still had not gotten the pot of tea we ordered nor did the guy ever come back w/my "sparkling" or plain water...we'd had enough of this horrible service & I went in search of someone (the place again was empty & I could not find our waiter or anyone anywhere). Finally I see this lady who had attitude (I have a sneaking suspicion she pretended not to understand english when convenient) when I asked WTAF was up w/my water & the tea! Again, another 10mins w/neither showing up at the table...we were also still waiting for the 2nd basket of pita, but it was moot as we'd already begun to eat the main dish...my stepmom went to the lady & spoke to her in arabic and was like "where is her water and where is her tea!?" the lady said she was sorry she didn't know we didn't get them (BS btw) that's when my stepmom asked to speak to the mgr. We also wanted to order Knfa for dessert, so my stepmom told the lady we were ordering 3 now since they were taking forever to get anything to us, and if they didn't bring them when we were done eating, we would not be paying for them. THAT part seemed to get through at least! Halfway (almost an hr at this point) through the meal they finally come w/my water and the pot of Karak tea. At this point we hadn't seen the male waiter who took our order initially; he shows up & is acting huffy (the audacity tbh!) & tries telling me he never said he'd bring a 2nd sparkling or reg water & when both me and my stepmom (cuz she was sitting next to me & heard the exchange called him out) he got all defensive & said "well I guess I misunderstood" so then we are like "why an hr for the tea?" "Wellll, that's how long it takes to make!" I called BS & told him if that was the case he should have told us that expectation when we initially ordered! He then goes "Well I had to go to storage to find it cuz we were out!" K, howTF is that OUR problem!? Just tell us that so we know what to expect!? No apology was made and we were not credited for the tea nor the $3 sparkling water which I never received. Also, received the Knfa (shockingly, right after the meal) but it was served w/o the pistachios it was supposed to come with. When asked for them, we were told they were "out"...because of course they were! Absolutely HORRIBLE staff and service here; the food was good tho, but when u have an experience like that it still leaves a bad taste!

Hearty portions, delish smoothies, great service!…read more I got takeout on a Sunday for lunch, and there were a good number of people dining in. Everything on the menu looks so good! I ordered the house-made babaganoush, which was a bit smoky and very delicious! It was a large portion and came with pita. For an entree, I got the Adana kabob. This was two ground lamb skewers and came on a hefty bed of rice, with a side salad. This was enough food for two of us to enjoy. To drink, I ordered the Al-Basha cocktail - fruity, tropical, and refreshing. Highly recommend! I'm excited to return and try more.

Everything went well! So happy my companion noticed this location while looking for Halal…read morerestaurants. It was a bit of a drive, Charlotte wise, but well worth it! The location in a shopping area with uniform shop and a few restaurants, allowed for enough parking for all the businesses. The interior was decorated with a mural on the wall counter with desserts and seating throughout. We decided to dine in and were seated promptly. The menu selection was fast and our Server Savannah answered all our questions. Two of us selected the lamb shank, which was cooked for six hours with a bed of yellow basmati rice. It also came with a salad. I had initially also ordered the lentil soup as I am a lentil fan and my associate ordered samosas. My nephew is a practicing vegan and was able to get a street style falafel meal, which also came with rice and salad. My son, who suggested the initial Halal place, actually ended up getting the cheesesteak with sweet potato fries. I love the variety of items for everyone. Everything was delicious! The lamb was seasoned perfectly and easily came off the bone. We ended up all preferring the garlic sauce. Amongst all the sauces they offered, and it paired well with everything. My son really enjoyed his sandwich, and my nephew was intrigued by the falafel which was made with fava beans instead of chickpeas. It also came with the signature Albasha sauce. The inside of the falafel's had a dark green color and looked delicious. We paired our meal with the seasonal minty melon drink, which consisted of watermelon with mint leaves and was served in mason jars. It was delicious and more was ordered. The entire experience was aided by service by Zaden, who aided Savannah with our group.

Get Schnitz-faced!!…read more In Yafo Kitchen has become my go-to spot in Charlotte, largely because of one dish: the schnitzel. If you're a schnitzel fan, stop reading and order it. Two generous pieces arrive shatteringly crisp with a beautifully seasoned panko crust that's never greasy. The chicken stays tender and juicy, and the fresh lemon wedges bring everything to life. It's one of those dishes that keeps pulling me back. My favorite side is the shell macaroni and cheese. Rich, creamy, and unapologetically indulgent. Together, the schnitzel and mac and cheese are comfort food perfection. I also love the self-serve organic Tractor beverages, the open kitchen concept, and how consistently clean the restaurant feels. The team is friendly, the food comes out quickly, and you can watch everything being prepared right in front of you. Parking is easy thanks to the shared shopping center lot, the outdoor patio along East Boulevard is pleasant, and the portions are generous for the price. Clean restaurant. Friendly people. Consistently delicious food. Yafo is one of those places that simply gets it right. Life is too short not to eat well, Charlotte.
