Cute space with decent coffee and polite staff. The seating area is a little tight and it's difficult to have a conversation here that wouldn't be overheard by everyone present, upstairs and downstairs. I believe they boast this as a co-working space and I could only see those who work in complete silence and with headphones on taking advantage of this. The coffee is overpriced and underwhelming, in my opinion. $1.35 is way too much of an upcharge for alternative milk. This made my 16 oz coffee almost $9. Sometimes, a high quality beverage at a speciality coffee shop might be worth this price, but this wasn't. I ordered the Sugar Mama, with white chocolate and Irish cream and it tasted like overly sweetened coffee--something I might get from a fast food place. The Irish cream flavor was very subtle. Unfortunately, I can't say that I am interested in returning either for the ambience or the coffee.

Such a cute coffee shop with nice employees. Got a peppermint mocha cold brew but their fall selection looked great, can't wait to see the winter seasonal drinks! Definitely recommend

A bit pricey for coffee but mine was pretty good. I got the Nutty Truffle with oat milk and asked for it half sweetened since it seemed like there was a lot of syrups added in. It came out perfect and I was very happy with it! I just don't really agree with the $1.35 alternative milk charge... No issues with service, the girls working there were great. It was two floors so could be a good study or work spot.

    Matcha

There matcha is nothing like the picture that they have up. It is very grainy. It was always very messy in the back with cleaning products all over the ground. Would not come again

Freezing cold still frozen packaged "breakfast sandwich" they were sold out of all the wraps, sold out of bacon, sold out of most things.

Only two people working, one on register one on espresso machine. Donation bags, boxes and clutter line the path to ordering, dust on counters, disorganized look to the place. Fruit flies and gnats flying around their open air pastries. I ordered a plain croissant two turkey sausage breakfast sandwiches and a hot vanilla latte. $30! Latte came out promptly but without vanilla. I waited over 10 minutes for the breakfast sandwiches, the woman who was tendering the cash register without washing her hands then came over to the food station and started packaging up items. Food was all over the counter, it had been sitting, there was no way to tell what had been heated up versus what had just sat out cold and frozen from the packaging it came in. When we both bit into our breakfast sandwiches we noticed they were cold, still frozen and tasted like gas station vending machine food from a highway rest stop. Although Charlotte has a deficit of coffee shops Id rather give Starbucks my money than ever visit coffee republic again. Funny how from their Maps or IG it seems trendy + good location in Ballantyne but my Lord what horrible execution. You need some serious operational assistance.

I've been to several of their locations around the Charlotte area and they all share the same strengths: consistently great coffee, friendly baristas, and a calm, grounded atmosphere that makes even a quick stop feel like a small reset in the day. This particular shop isn't large, and the laptop crowd has definitely discovered it. There are only a handful of tables, so I felt genuinely lucky to land the last open one and settle in with my cortado. The drink was exactly what I expect from Summit every time, rich and balanced and served with the kind of quiet confidence that comes from a place that knows what it's doing. I opened the laptop, got a bit of work done, and enjoyed the rhythm of the room as people drifted in and out. And when the cortado was gone, so was I. It's the kind of space where I felt a gentle responsibility to make room for the next person once I've had your moment, especially on a busy morning. Even with its small footprint, it remains one of the most dependable coffee experiences in the area, and I always leave feeling like the stop was worth it. If you've tried their other locations, this one will feel familiar in the best way. If you haven't, it's a great introduction to what Summit does so well. We ordered a mocha and a latte with oat milk. I had mine with vanilla and caramel, and even added extra simple syrup. Unfortunately, the drinks just didn't stand out. I found myself sipping more for the caffeine than the flavor, and by the end, I couldn't really remember the taste. I was hoping to recreate that rich, memorable coffee experience I've had in Asheville, but this didn't quite hit the same. That said, I do appreciate the atmosphere and the friendly service, so I'd be open to giving it another try in the future.

Good amount of seating inside (mostly 2-seaters; one larger table reserved for bigger groups). Helpful and friendly staff who were amazing with my little one. You have to try a slice of the basque cheesecake. The plain slice (with no whipped cream or fruit topping) is not overly sweet and the perfect amount of "burnt" & creamy. We also tried the madeleines, which - as the café's name suggests - were on point. And the garlic bagel is a garlic + cream cheese lover's dream. The iced dalgona latte was such a treat. Sweet with a creamy foam and topped with crunchy cookies - very well balanced and delightful to drink. The prices reflect the care and high quality of the products. One thing I always struggle with in Nashville is that they tend to run out of donuts and drinks pretty early in the day. Even by late afternoon, there are very few options left. That wasn't the case here. When I visited, they still had a great selection of donuts available, which made the experience much more enjoyable. I finally got the chance to try their lattes, and they did not disappoint. The Banana Bread Latte was one of the best specialty lattes I've had--rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The Café con Leche was equally impressive and absolutely delicious. The donuts were just as fresh and delicious as always, and having plenty of options to choose from made the visit even better. Overall, this location exceeded my expectations. I only wish the Nashville stores would stock more throughout the day so customers can enjoy the same experience. If you're near Ballantyne, this location is definitely worth a visit!

It made us very scared for the remaining items, but they were fine - just proceed with caution. Not all glazed sparkling things are delicious. We may try again, but it will take some time before I can convince my family to give it a go. Nothing worse than a stale donut that looks beautiful. *** Sadly the suggested email address doesn't respond *** it's ok, at least folks know to proceed with caution.

It was our first time visiting Charlotte, and after seeing that the shop was open until 11:00 p.m., we figured it would be the perfect way to end the evening. We arrived just a few minutes before closing, but since we only planned to order a couple of scoops of gelato, we expected to be in and out quickly. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. Rather than greeting us or welcoming us, the employee immediately said, "Hey guys, by the way, we close in two minutes." There was no hello or friendly interaction. As we ordered, one member of our party asked to sample a couple of flavors, and the employee seemed visibly inconvenienced. When I asked if they had caramel drizzle, her response was simply, "No," with no warmth or attempt to offer an alternative. I completely understand that arriving close to closing can be frustrating for employees, and we were mindful of the time. However, the doors were still open, the posted business hours indicated the shop was open until 11:00 p.m., and we were respectful customers who knew what we wanted and intended to order quickly. What was most disappointing wasn't that they were closing soon--it was how unwelcome we were made to feel. As first-time visitors to Charlotte and Ballantyne, this wasn't the hospitality we expected. Customer service matters just as much during the last few minutes of business as it does throughout the rest of the day. I hope this feedback is taken as an opportunity to remind staff that every customer deserves to feel welcomed, regardless of when they walk through the door during posted business hours.
