I visited this location after having a great experience at the Summit Coffee on the Plaza. I ordered Nicole's Peach Cobbler Latte ($7.85) and informed the barista I wanted it sweet. She made the drink and told me to taste it as it was hard to judge sweetness. I tasted it, said, nope and gave it right back to her. She added more peach syrup, I gave it a stir, took a sip and it was perfect. I'm sharing because I appreciated the barista double checking to make sure my latte was to my liking versus preparing it and not asking. It demonstrated excellent customer service. While I didn't drink my latte inside, the shop is super cute and seems to be a good chill spot to take a break or get work done. read more

Stopped by Summer Coffee in Ballantyne and the two baristas working were super sweet and energetic--I really appreciated their vibe and customer service. We ordered a mocha and a latte with oat milk. I had mine with vanilla and caramel, and even added extra simple syrup. Unfortunately, the drinks just didn't stand out. I found myself sipping more for the caffeine than the flavor, and by the end, I couldn't really remember the taste. I was hoping to recreate that rich, memorable coffee experience I've had in Asheville, but this didn't quite hit the same. That said, I do appreciate the atmosphere and the friendly service, so I'd be open to giving it another try in the future. read more

Nice coffee shop and good quality espresso. I ordered the cookie butter latte and vanilla cold brew. Nice presentation but the cookie butter latte did not taste like cookie butter at all. I understand the use of homemade syrup but I would have loved to taste the cookie butter. The baristas all seem occupied and it took awhile for them to greet me and or take my order. There was 1 person waiting for a drink and 3 people working. Overall good espresso and oat milk ( that's what my cookie butter latte tasted like) and a nice shop but a very uninviting atmosphere. read more

Summit Coffee has become one of those reliably excellent stops for me, and this visit to the Ballantyne location fit the pattern perfectly. I've been to several of their locations around the Charlotte area and they all share the same strengths: consistently great coffee, friendly baristas, and a calm, grounded atmosphere that makes even a quick stop feel like a small reset in the day. This particular shop isn't large, and the laptop crowd has definitely discovered it. There are only a handful of tables, so I felt genuinely lucky to land the last open one and settle in with my cortado. The drink was exactly what I expect from Summit every time, rich and balanced and served with the kind of quiet confidence that comes from a place that knows what it's doing. I opened the laptop, got a bit of work done, and enjoyed the rhythm of the room as people drifted in and out. And when the cortado was gone, so was I. It's the kind of space where I felt a gentle responsibility to make room for the next person once I've had your moment, especially on a busy morning. Even with its small footprint, it remains one of the most dependable coffee experiences in the area, and I always leave feeling like the stop was worth it. If you've tried their other locations, this one will feel familiar in the best way. If you haven't, it's a great introduction to what Summit does so well. Coffees and Teas are wonderful. The baristas are friendly. My friend and I were there for a few hours. It was quiet and pleasant. It's a small place but there's seating outside as well. It was very enjoyable. read more

Super quick service, but staff barely said a word to me. Coffee was a bit of a a disappointment because I used to really love summit. However, my latte was super duper milky--tasted like a glass of creamer. read more

The barista was so friendly. I walked in not knowing anything about this coffee shop or coffee in general and she was able to make a great recommendation. I got the seasonal blueberry pie! The coffee shop was such a cute place to work. I'll be back and can't wait to see what their other seasonal drinks look like! read more

Summit has consistently delicious seasonal drinks. Most recently, I tried the cinnamon toast crunch latte and LOVED it, especially since I'm already obsessed with that cereal. This is a great spot to meet a friend for coffee with several tables outside for conversating. The interior is a little small and gets cramped if there is a line. I've never tried their food but they do have a small selection of pastries and bagels. I wouldn't count on a big breakfast here, maybe just go for the coffee. read more

Had the best choc croissant here this morning! Got the hubs an iced vanilla latte and myself an iced caramel. The coffee is good and the atmosphere is cute. Beware very limited seating at this location, especially on a Saturday! I will be back! Only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I literally couldn't sit down anywhere and was looking forward to having a cozy afternoon reading with my coffee. read more

We stopped in before church & it was great! I got a sugar free vanilla latte, which was great. My husband got the shake it off & really liked it. The croissant was amazing - so fresh and buttery. Not dry like most croissants. The barista was super attentive and helped us quickly. We'll definitely come back! read more

Service was great. Coffee was solid. Went back twice. They had good pulls. I just was blown away by the coffee. So that's why I can't give it a 5 star read more

LA MARZOCCO! bravo on the 5 star latte this morning! As a travelling coffee snob I try to look at pics of the barista station to "see things" lol and I spotted the house made syrups. I got here and was very happy to see a La Marzocco. Quick friendly service and exceptional vanilla latte. I've been to a hundred "roasters" from Alaska to Boston, Florida to San Diego and this is exactly the kind of place I'm always looking for: complex espresso roast, perfectly dialed in crema, perfect temp smooth steamed milk, house made syrup. Perfect. 6 stars if I could. Finally someone who knows what they're doing on this side of Charlotte, my new go to when I'm in town. read more

Small establishment, but friendly and great for sitting and working! A bit on the pricey side however.

I'd rather see specialty cafe next to Starbucks... meaning option of pour over.... Choices of pastry. Like butter croissant and some almond chocolate croissants... just my thoughts and opinion about it. Better selection of beans ..perhaps variations read more

Great cold brew...nitro and regular options and MUST HAVE the COLD FOAM! To die for. Solid spot!

Service was great! Comfortable, small shop. Was great to get some work done. Bathroom was clean and equipped well if you have a young child - you don't see that often these days. read more

Hello everyone, I was able to try Summit Coffee in Ballantyne today and it is by far one of the best coffee shops in the Ballantyne area. First off the interior of this place is spectacular and has that sorta beach feeling to it ( I say myself) and is comfy and great for studying. The equipment they are using is by far some of the best equipment on the market being La Marzocco and accompanying grinder. The baristas at this shop are highly skilled in their craft and are great texturing the milk and knowing the ins and outs of the coffee market and craft! Let's get on to the drink! I got just a basic latte and it was on point! Nothing was missing from the flavor of the beans to the texturing of the milk, and did I mention Latte Art?!?! This is one of the only places in Charlotte that does it that I have tried. They also sell their coffee beans as well and they are decently priced as well and are well filled. I recommend this place to anyone that wants to skip the mainstream coffee chains!! Skip Starbucks and come to Summit Coffee!! read more

The service was great. The barista was super helpful and knowledgeable about the beans they sale and offered to grind them for me. I always want to try out a more local place to give them a shot. There was nothing notable about this little shop. I was firstly taken back by $5 bagels. I'm not a coffee, but a tea drinker. The chai was lukewarm at best and was very spicy. read more

A solid option for this who can't be bothered by the line at the place around the corner.... It's a small, quaint place - the outdoor seating is nice but it's not ideal for chilly days. The baked goods are limited but delicious. Not sure why our son is insistent it's the best bagel south of NYC. (That's quite the compliment). Seems like a weird spot next to several fast food breakfast joints, but I do hope it stays as it's great to have an overflow option when everywhere else is busting at the seams. The coffee is tasty and they're very particular about keeping high quality. Sugar free flavor options are non existent, but maybe they'll get some later. read more

A small but cozy coffee shop with several drink items. I enjoyed both the iced matcha and Big Bun (think: a cinnamon and roll and a croissant having a baby). It was delish. My only regret is not getting another. The music was perfect. There was a mix of Taylor Swift, Frank Ocean, Ed Sheeran, and Sonder - a little something for everyone. The amazing staff was the icing on the cake. read more

Coffee was OK. Service very good and a nice space. Just a little weaker coffee than I like. I think I got a decaf Americano 16 oz and they only put one shot in it. That may be the reason. Chocolate croissant was underwhelming. read more

Great coffee, though a bit overpriced. Where this location lacks is seating. We could not find anywhere to even stand. There's always people taking a whole table with their laptops and working. They never leave, do they? lol. I won't be coming back to at least this location. read more

Great location for Summit in the Ballantyne area. I stopped in with a girlfriend for a quick coffee and as I am familiar with the summit coffee shop, it was a quick order and my latte was delicious.
