    Lychee bloom $20
    Michelle T.

Celebrated a friend's birthday here and it was an amazing time! This is actually my 2nd time here, not sure how or why I didn't review it before. The ambiance in here is beautiful! Love the decor and the dim lighting. I especially love the decoration behind the bar. It's great for a date night or any special occasion celebration. Service: Kadeem R was our server and he was great! Very personable, friendly, and attentive. Him and another male server would stop by our table to check on us and literally dance with us to help my friend celebrate. Drinks: the drinks were good but I didn't think they were very strong. I personally had the lychee bloom and the Le Chai Hibiscus, both were cute and tasted good but weren't strong and that was the consensus for most the drinks except maybe the lychee martini. Food: we did the pre fixed family style menu so I didn't get any pics really because people dug in soon as the plates hit the table lol. It's $115 per person and you get to choose 4 staters, mains, and sides. I think there is a great variety to choose from. The wings were great, the vegetable spring rolls and Thai salad were good, the scallion pancakes were just okay, definitely need the sauce to make you enjoy and I would've preferred like a dumpling sauce with it instead. The red curry with shrimp, chicken and broccoli, drunken noodles with shrimp, shrimp fried rice, garlic broccoli, and spicy chili string beans were all really good! We also had the filet mignon and garlic mashed potatoes but I didn't have any of those but those that did said it was good!

Came here for a birthday dinner. Very clean and well decorated establishment. All of the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Would definitely come back here for a more intimate gathering, also the music was on point. We took part in a prefix menu which included wings, spring rolls, salad, drunken noodles, shrimp and chicken fried rice, filet mignon, flounder and assorted cakes for desserts. Great package, wish the appetizer portions were larger but other than that we had a great time.

The ambiance is really nice. The menu is interesting. It's mostly Thai but a lot of steak options too. I found the prices to be slightly high. But to their credit the serving sizes were really good. The Thai salad was very plain but all the other food was good. The cocktails were tasty. I'd like to sit at the bar. I'd also come for their weekly socials to save $. I'd come again.

View from my table, that's a sectioned off area, good for a family/group dinner.

This is a pretty and cozy space. It feels intimate with the dim lights, music is perfect. They played old school reggae jams when I went for dinner. My friend and I both had the Thai basil fried rice and an appetizer. The calamari was nice and flavorful! Our drinks were good as well. Alex was our server, he was attentive and kind. As well as the 2 ladies (I know at least one was a manager, but don't remember the names) they checked on us as well throughout the nice, which was appreciated. Lovely smiles from staff all night. If you're going to a show at Kings Theater, start your evening here and then head over. It's perfect. Will definitely be back to have the snapper!

Le Chai Review Appetizer Sampler: * Calamari - 9/10 | Perfectly crisp and seasoned just right. * Shrimp - 3/10 | Didn't hit the mark--kind of flat on flavor. * Spring Rolls - 5/10 | Crispy and okay, but the sweet-and-sour chili sauce definitely carried it. * Wings - 6/10 | Not bad, had some flavor, but nothing to write home about. Entrée: * Thai Basil Fried Rice with Lobster - 10/10 | Extremely spicy (in the best way) and full of flavor--definitely the star of the night. Drinks: * Chai 75 - 9/10 | Starts off strong with prosecco + gin, then smooths out into a sweet, almost Starburst-like finish. * Tropical VIP Long Island - 10/10 | Top-shelf liquor, no harsh taste--it sneaks up on you quick! * Lychee Martini - 9/10 | Very fire--sweet, floral, and refreshing. The service was great too. The bartender made me feel extremely comfortable and really knew his stuff. Overall: Le Chai brings great energy, bold flavors, and dangerously good drinks. A perfect mix of classy and chill vibes--definitely worth coming back for another round (and that fried rice ).

Very beautiful decor. Expensive steak house. But delicious fresh food. Good customer service. A lot of traffic on a Saturday afternoon. Pack house

    French Martini with Tequila

Celebrated my birthday with my family here. We had a reservation but the table wasn't ready so they put us in the VIP room as not to have us wait too long. I got a French Martini with Tequila (my drink of choice), and spicy shrimp basil. The food was good, ambiance nice and the music was on point.

It's really nice to experience this type of dining on this side of Brooklyn. The ambiance was really nice, very beautiful decor in there, the service was great, the bartender was the most attentive and really gave personalized service, he spoke with us about our preferences and made custom drinks and brought them out to our table. The drinks were great, well prepared. The food was really good. We had the appetizer sampler and it was good but the must have on there was the calamari 10/10. I had that Mongolian beef and that was delicious as well. I want to come back on Thursday for their martini night and brunch if they offer it. Definitely a must try. I went early around 5pm before it got crowded for the dinner service and I would recommend that timing for the best experience.

    Vegetable spring rolls

Le Chai feels like the perfect upscale Asian fusion restaurant on this side of Brooklyn. Stunning interior, attentive staff, and delicious food. My friend and I shared the vegetable spring rolls. They were standard, couldn't miss. We also had the Bangkok shrimp with medium spice that comes with jasmine rice. Super tasty. That "medium" spicy is above medium in my book but still enjoyable. The side of garlic broccoli was my favorite. We also enjoyed their speciality cocktails. Overall, would recommend!

    Le Chai Special Flounder Fish

The food was pretty good. Full of flavor. I don't expect my flounder to be fried and it just felt way too oily. The appetizer was great, sampled a bit of everything. Ambiance is nice and the service was swift and professional.

My friend chose Le Chai to celebrate his birthday. We arrived and we were immediately greeted by the gentleman holding the door and the two young ladies at the desk. The restaurant is relatively spacious and with a wonderful decor. We sat for a bit before being approached about drinks-- as we saw it took awhile we were completely ready to order everything at once. We ordered chicken wings and fries as an appetizer, lamb chops, spinach, Singapore noodle, fried rice and beef and broccoli as our entree. I will touch on the beef and broccoli later...... My friend who was celebrating his birthday enjoyed his lamb chops and spinach. My other friend enjoyed her noodle. Unfortunately, I didn't really enjoy the rice and my beef and broccoli never came. I was utterly confused when the food came out and mine was missing but it happened again later. I never said anything about the entree because I was full once I ate half of the rice and figured since I didn't really like it I may have felt the same way about the entree. When we ordered our dessert, it happened again but to my friend. We all ordered our cake, they brought the sparklers, but the server barely sang and clearly wasn't too enthusiastic about it. We saw others celebrating their birthday with different servers and they were much more into it. Back to the cake, myself and the birthday person were eating and I noticed my friend didn't get her cake. I summoned over the sever as she walked by and she said she didn't hear my friend's order-- what? She came up to each of us just like with the entree so it made no sense. The desserts were all pretty good but at this point I was a little perturbed. The music was great and not too loud. The place was packed but we had ample space but the food was just okay for me and the tow blunders led me to an overall three star rating.

A Complicated Experience at Le Chai I have a complicated relationship with the experience I had today at Le Chai in Brooklyn. We stumbled upon this Thai restaurant while walking through a neighborhood where people actually greet you--Southern hospitality vibes in NYC? Yes, please. That warm energy followed us into the restaurant, where a security guard outside greeted us kindly and the host sat us with grace and urgency. The space is stunning. I had to ask if it was Black-owned--and sure enough, it is. You could feel it in the intentional design, the warmth of the environment, and the overall vibe. We showed up in beach bum outfits, and still felt welcomed and at home. Meanwhile, the other diners were dolled up, and it felt like a whole scene. We started with the vegetable spring rolls--nice crunch, solid flavor. I ordered an espresso martini. Not my favorite, but it wasn't bad either. Here's where it gets tricky: for a Thai restaurant, there were some noticeable things missing--no Thai iced tea, Thai coffee, lychee drinks, or even a creative fusion cocktail to nod to Thai flavors. That absence stood out. We ordered the curry and pad Thai, expecting the flavors to match the elegance of the space. No peanut sauce, no limes (limes instead of lemons for pad Thai), and coconut milk in their curry. Unfortunately, they didn't quite hit the mark. As my friend put it: "there is spectacle but no substance"--only regarding the food. I genuinely believe Le Chai has heart and potential. The intention is there, and the atmosphere is already next level. But when you're charging $20+ for dishes I can get at other spots for $12.95 (with more authentic flavor), it's hard not to walk away a little disappointed. It's also unfortunate that there is a missed opportunity in blending black/AA flavors with Taiwanese flavors. Again, slight disappointment. That said--I want to see this place win. If the food can rise to meet the ambiance, Le Chai could become something truly special.

Went last night for a late dinner with my girlfriends and was immediately impressed. The entrance is stunning and the whole space is beautifully designed huge, but somehow still cozy and intimate. You can tell a lot of thought went into creating the vibe, and it definitely delivers on ambiance. This spot has been on my list for a while, so I was hoping the mixed reviews weren't true... but unfortunately, they were. The food just didn't live up to the setting. The apps were okay, and my sweet & sour chicken was fine, but nothing memorable. My friends ordered the beef & broccoli and shrimp & broccoli which are both classic dishes, but neither could get through more than a few bites. Pretty disappointing, especially considering the upscale vibe and pricing. The silver lining was our server, who was super attentive and made sure we were well taken care of all night. Overall, this place has so much potential, but the food really needs some work to match the rest of the experience. Fingers crossed they step it up, because I'd love to come back if the menu improves.

At the main counter, they serve the classics (mocha, latte, chai, matcha) plus a few specials. My cookie butter matcha (with oat and flavored syrup) was less than 6 dollars. It wasn't my favorite matcha, it was a pretty good deal in comparison to other cafes in the area. They have a coffee club where you pay $40 a month for free drinks (coffee or tea based), 10% of items like cocktails, food and wine. Plus you are able to use their wifi in their space which has a funky plush aesthetic. Definitely good for people who need a place to work. It is an interesting way of using this space in the morning. Dishes came out in timely manner and order, with restaurant service etiquette followed to a T. Food was good overall, fresh and well presented. Portion sizes are decent, everything priced according to location, quality and ambiance. Octopus was tender but didn't have any flavor and was outshined by delicious pesto & burrata in the salad, which was unfortunate as I was looking forward for it to be the start of the dish. Tartar could use more sauce (or salt) to tie all layers together. Bone marrow was delicious, definitely try a side of beef- it melts in the mouth and is a great addition. Duck vareniki was a bit small portion, with good filling/dough ration and the sauce was heavenly. Pizza crust was good but bland toppings made it uneventful. Steak and fish were cooked and seasoned to perfection, side salads were well seasoned and good pairings for protein. Desserts satisfied our sweet tooth after delicious dinner.
