Prosciutto w Hot Honey pizza

We stopped by Lazy Dough in Long Beach on a Saturday morning, and it was PACKED! Parking can also be difficult in this area, especially on a Saturday morning, so definitely give yourself some extra time to find a spot. Most of the available seating was 2-person tables, but there were also some larger tables marked "Reserved." We had a large party, and one of the employees was kind enough to open up one of the reserved tables for us, which we really appreciated! I'm not sure if they intentionally reserve the larger tables so smaller parties don't take them, but if that's the case, it could be a little pro tip for larger groups--definitely worth asking! The restaurant itself is really colorful and cute, with paper flower decorations and paper lanterns that give it a fun, lively atmosphere. The menu was probably my favorite part. I really love the fact that the dough is made in house!! They have a really varied selection, with Asian and Mexican-inspired dishes, plus American classics with creative twists. There's also a LONG list of matcha and coffee flavors, so there are lots of options if you're a coffee or matcha person. Overall, everything we ordered was good, and we enjoyed the experience. Definitely a fun place to check out if you're looking for a colorful brunch spot with lots of interesting options!

Really weighing my choice to give this place a better review or leave it at 3 stars... This is my biggest gripe from yesterday: it took about 20+ minutes for my bulgogi burrito to come out. I understand that it was the LB Marathon and it was packed but I saw people who were behind us in line get their food before me. No idea what happened but that was not acceptable. I wasn't hungry anymore by the time I got the burrito. Overall I think the food ate a little sweet--even the garlic roll! Of course my bulgogi burrito would be sweet coz that's what bulgogi is. The prosciutto pizza we had also had a touch of honey that made it sweet. I think leaving things savory would've made that pizza much better. The curry popcorn chicken was good but I can't help but detect a hint of sugar in the recipe. (Correct me if I'm wrong). The banana latte was good. Probably my favorite thing I had yesterday. Thanks for giving my cousin a complimentary coffee for the trouble. Will need to give a second look to see if today was just a one-off.

Breakfast Burrito. Coconut Croissant French Toast. Mango matcha
Michelle V.

Delicious !!! I was scared the mango matcha would be watered down bc it had so much coconut cream top. But it was DELISH. One of the best mango matchas I've had and the foam did not taste like artificial coconut. Mango is not too sweet and stands out without overpowering the matcha flavor. Food was yummy as well. Limited seating that is operated as a self-seating system. You order then sit wherever. Friendly staff and good food

We went on a whim on a late Saturday morning and at first, it seemed too busy and the line seemed too long but we waited only about 5-7 mins to order and you are seated once you order and pay so don't be intimidated by the line when you first go inside. This place is great for meet-ups and groups that want to settle their own tab because you order first, pay, then are seated. (They help you find seating!) Parking: 7/10. This is a residential neighborhood and from what I saw, there was no parking lot so we had to find street parking. Facility: 9/10. The place isn't huge but it has indoor and outdoor seating. Flies may be an issue but I always bring eucalyptus spray to ward them away. The place was busy but they did a good job keeping it clean. Bathroom was clean! Food: Beef Bulgogi breakfast burrito: 9/10: I love breakfast burritos (I don't eat pork) but I hate fatty meat but was told it wasn't too fatty and it wasn't too bad. Very tasty and the pico was fresh and a perfect addition. I loved the crispiness of the tots inside and the flavors meshed well together. I would get this again! Side of turkey bacon! 10/10! For those that don't eat pork, this was a win. We didn't see it on the menu but I asked and they said they have it! Yaay!!! Croissant French toast: 8/10: this wasn't really traditional French toast (wasn't cooked in eggs). It was a croissant dipped in coconut milk with fresh fruit and whipped cream. I'm not a fan of the coconut taste so it wasn't my favorite but hubby seemed to like it. Drinks: Iced blueberry matcha xtra sweet & xtra blueberry flavor w/almond milk: 10/10. This was good and I'd get it again. They made it JUST how I requested it! Iced strawberry matcha w/almond milk: 10/10: This was good! Both matchas didn't have that dirt/earthy taste so they were both winners. Service: 10/10. Absolutely no issues from the order/service counter to the cute lady that bussed our dishes. Everyone was really nice. We will be back!

I need to come back to try more dishes. This place was so flavorful and unique. This place is one of those cute little quaint places where you need to order at the counter and sit down. The menu had a lot of options as well as their different homemade foams for coffee tops. The espresso drinks were so yummy , I wanted to try another one. My blt was also excellent. We got the pumpkin cream muffin and chocolate croissant , the croissant was beautiful & amazing. Parking does suck in that area but if I'm back in the area I'll come back forsure.

Guava danish and strawberry crossaint
Jasmine T.

My favorite brunch spot, and I'm not exaggerating. The avocado toast is my order every single time -- beautifully plated and genuinely delicious, not just pretty. But the menu is huge and I've made a real dent in it: the eggs benedict croissant, steak and eggs, honey prosciutto pizza, and the beef bulgogi burrito have all been excellent. The pastries deserve their own paragraph. Strawberry croissant, Dubai chocolate croissant, almond croissant, cheesecake, cookies -- I've had nearly all of them and they hit every time. But the guava danish is the one. If you only get one thing from the pastry case, get that. There are days I come in purely for the pastries and skip the meal entirely. Service is quick and friendly. Parking is the one tricky part. We've been lucky finding a spot right out front every time, but give yourself a few extra minutes. Highly recommend, whether you're here for a full brunch or just the guava danish.

house special iced latte. the salt in this was SO good.

Today I wanted to try somewhere new for breakfast, on my quest to find a replacement burrito for my beloved Jerry's that closed last year. This place opened a little over a year ago last summer, and it's only a few blocks away. Was a perfect day out so decided to finally check this place out. It's a walk-up order style, they give you a number and you find a table. I ordered the regular breakfast burrito. It was cut in two halves which I liked, you could see all the delicious goodness inside. The tater tots really add a nice texture to it, was very satisfying. And the fresh pico de gallo and green salsa was so delicious and in the cutest little container to pour it from. I also ordered an iced house special latte, wow you could taste the cinnamon right away but the best part was the unexpected dash of salt in the foam! Reminded me of ice cream. My friend got the savory pancakes, they looked really fluffy. I stole a piece of her bacon, really thick slices, perfect amount of crisp. It was a nice day out, so we sat outside where they have about 8 tables. Unfortunately, there were some dog owners that were not able to get their dog to stop barking which made eating there less enjoyable. I love dogs, and there were many other dogs there on good behavior. There were not any tables open inside or we would have moved, they have AC inside which felt great. Everything we ate was fantastic. The food comes out as it's ready. First, we got our pastries delivered. Then my burrito came, then pancakes. We got our coffees last which leads me to believe a lot of people come here just for the coffee. Next time I need to try the banana espresso!!! That avocado toast looks pretty delicious too. I'll be back for sure! All the staff were very attentive and kind as well. What a great little bright spot in the neighborhood.

Savory pancake! Every bite was soooo delicious!
Yasaman J.

This place is a great place for breakfast. The matchas are delicious and the portions are great. The service is friendly and attentive. I ordered the savory pancake dish and it was delicious! The neighborhood is a bit ROUGH! Keep that in mind before you visit here. I am not gonna take any stars off because that is not the restaurant's fault as it is the city's fault. Will I ever be back?! I don't think so! I will visit another breakfast place as Long Beach has a TON of brunch places!

margarita pizza
Marissa W.

This establishment took over the former Seabirds restaurant in Long Beach, and im happy to report its pretty good! I'm including a 4/5 just because I do wish they had more vegan options. They have a lot of vegetarian options (I just wish I could get the veggie burrito, but im allergic to egg, so wish they had vegan option :) ). Anyway, we got the margarita pizza (14.50$), which was perfect for two and a delicious option- simple and flavorful and the dough was really good! We also got the iced ube coconut cloud (5.75$) and iced ube matcha with oat milk (6.75 + something like .6 for oat milk). Both were really good! Refreshing. We will definitely come back!

Outdoor Seating Area
Erriene M.

Such a solid brunch spot!! My friend and I stopped by around noon on a Wednesday and it was not busy at all. This restaurant was self seating and you had the option to order your food through their kiosk or at the register. We chose the kiosk & after ordering, you took a number, seated yourself, and the food was brought to you. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The ambiance was cozy and perfect for a group hangout or 1-on-1. The lady who helped us out was super friendly too! Only thing to note was that it's street parking to get here, so plan accordingly. My friend and I got their Lazy Loaded Fries and Breakfast Burrito--the total came out to ~$30. The burrito was flavorful, the fries were saucy and crispy, and it was overall such a delicious brunch meal. I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area and looking for somewhere chill to start your day!!

Banana Espresso Latte
Jovana M.

This was my mom's and mines first time going here and the ambiance of the place was pretty and comforting! It was really busy so the food did take a while to come out but when it did the presentation was really nice. Unfortunately, I was so excited about the food that I forgot to take a picture before eating :,) I got the bulgogi burrito and banana espresso latte and my mom got the veggies lover's burrito. My mom loved this place a lot and so did I! If you like sweet things I recommend picking the sweeter option for the coffee because I picked regular and didn't find it too sweet but it definitely had a nice subtle banana flavor!

THIS PLACE RIGHT HERE!!! All surrounding brunch spots... meet your match. This family-owned gem is about to take over the downtown brunch scene. My family and I stopped in on a Saturday around 10 a.m. The place was already packed with a line out the door, but don't let that scare you. The wait moved fast, and the staff ran that dining room like a well-oiled machine while somehow making you feel like you were a guest in their home. You order at the front, grab your number, then impatiently wait for greatness. Right away, the baristas were brewing, shaking, and stirring up some of the best drinks I've had in a long time. Matcha, mochas... Starbucks could NEVER. I ordered the banana strawberry matcha and an iced mocha. While I was at the counter, I obviously had to grab pastries because... self-control wasn't invited. The display alone had me ready to order 14 of 'em. I went with the tiramisu cookie, guava croissant, and strawberry cream croissant. Now for the main event. There were four of us, so naturally we ordered enough food for a small village. Savory pancakes, a bulgogi breakfast burrito with fries, steak and eggs, another breakfast burrito, and the Thai pizza. Yep. We came to eat. While we waited, I took in the atmosphere. The entire place felt warm and inviting. Sunlight poured through the windows, giving it the feeling of eating breakfast on your family's back patio. Just laughter, clinking forks, happy conversations, and those little "mmm" moments happening at every table. That's always a good sign. The Thai pizza hit the table first. Fresh out of the oven and straight to Flavor Town. The crust had to be handmade because there was no way something that good came from a freezer. The basil, sausage, and everything working together made this anything but your average pizza. It was different--in the best way possible. Five minutes later... Gone. Next up were the savory pancakes. At first glance, they looked simple. Then I took a bite. That little stack of fluffy pancakes topped with berry butter didn't even need syrup. THANK YOU for understanding that pancakes don't need to cover an entire plate to be memorable. These were soft, flavorful, perfectly sweet, and somehow disappeared before I could fully appreciate everything else on the plate. Speaking of everything else... The steamed eggs were light and fluffy. The hash browns? Listen... Whatever they're doing to those potatoes back there needs to be studied. They had the perfect golden crunch with this buttery goodness that made me question every hash brown I've ever eaten. Fried in beef tallow? Magic? I don't know. I just know I wanted another order immediately. The bacon deserved its own shoutout too. Fresh, crispy, and full of flavor--not bacon that was cooked at 5 a.m. and has been sitting around waiting for someone's Grand Slam order. This bacon had integrity. Then came the steak and eggs. The steak was tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. I had absolutely no interest in sharing. But somehow the potatoes still managed to steal part of the spotlight. Again... Those potatoes. Give me 14 of those babies to go. The breakfast burritos were packed with flavor, but those crispy potatoes inside gave them the texture that took them from good to unforgettable. And that green aioli? Bottle that stuff up. Immediately. This place just gets it. They understand that quality matters. Every ingredient tasted intentional, every dish felt like someone actually cared before it hit the table. Too many restaurants are cutting corners these days, and I will happily support businesses that refuse to compromise. Worth every penny. This is hands down one of the best brunch spots I've been to in a long time, and I already can't wait to come back. Do yourself a favor and go. Just don't blame me when there's a line.

Lazy Dough is this interesting café located on fourth Street in the LBC. The design of this establishment is very nice. They have very nice interior seating, as well as a very nice outdoor patio space. The way this place works is that you go inside and order what you want. You can do this is one of two ways. They have a digital ordering station, if that's your preference. Or, you can place your order with the staff member at the front counter. Your choice. In terms of the food, it's all very interesting. They have some pretty nice choices. What they offer is kind of unique takes on a traditional Americana and beyond. The main thing about this restaurant to keep in mind is that they have a very extensive drink list. Whether you want lattes, cappuccinos, chais they have a lot of choices. I mean, really a lot of choices! The only downside to this café, if you want to call it that, is that this is a population location. From this, if there are a lot of people in front of you, having put in their order, you may have to wait awhile to get your meal. Overall, this a nice café that offers some good food and a lot drinks.

We'd been here a couple of times before, but only for drinks. The interior is quaint, with pretty typical Francophilic touches (pics of Parisian landmarks, etc). I decided on the Fit crepe, which is a buckwheat crepe filled with spinach and feta. Delicious, but the crepe was a bit dry around the edges. The drip coffee I got was great, however, and the hubby enjoyed his Veggie hash. Friendly service from the two servers, but they seemed a bit stretched--maybe it was more crowded than usual due to the watch party?

Not a super huge fan of French cuisine; however, the menu looked good and mostly reasonable prices. Restaurant is super cute with indoor/outdoor seating. We started off with a bottle of cab (41.00, ouch)! It was noted as a different brand on their menu and they came with a bottle of Josh Cellars which isn't a bad table wine but about 3 times the price! We ended up ordering the fondue for the app (24.00) which comes with bite size pieces of bread and diced apples. It was ok, a little too runny and had an interesting hint of beer flavor. Next up we both ordered the brie & prosciutto sandwich which came with a side of au gratin and greens. The sandwich was excellent but the potatoes were cold. We ended our meal sharing creme brulee for dessert. It was good but also served cold. Total bill incl tip: 163.00 bucks (double ouch)! Overall, meal and service was good, but I would forego the wine on a future visit as it was way overpriced for the brand we got as well as the cheese fondue. Will definitely be back though. Very comfy and charming atmosphere.

The staff is incredibly friendly - there was a server named Isabelle who was super bubbly and honestly made the night. Not listed, but I did have the Horchata cocktail and that was pretty good. I also had another drink, but I don't recall what the name was (that is the one that's pictured). I do think this one was better... as far as the food goes it's certainly OK. The price is just a little steep for what you are getting especially drink size/quality wise. Fortunately, when I have been twice this year, the line has been mostly nonexistent, but normally I've seen the line wrapped around the building and it can be a pretty hefty wait considering it's walk-ins only after 4:30 PM. Overall, I will be back, purely based off of the decor and the incredible service. I do think that the drinks and food portion need a little bit more love considering this is a location already exists and is not necessarily a "pop-up" and at the end of the day, it is advertised as a restaurant/cocktail bar and not just an "experience". Considering I'm a local I'm more likely to come back, but I do think that the restaurant does rely more so on the decor than it does the items it serves. I would give the food and drinks a 3/5 whereas the love & dedication in decor, and service really bumped it up to at least one more "star" for the overall review.

I never expected to find stellar cocktails and wings inside of a hotel, but you truly never know…read more Let's start with the cocktails; they are KILLING it. The menu has a ton of really detailed options, each drink with its own depth. The menu changes seasonally but what doesn't change is the smoked old fashioned - a must-order. They smoke your drink in a glass container using applewood chips; it's quite a show and it also does make the drink much more enjoyable. Ask the bartender and they can also help guide you to a drink - I've done it a couple of times and always pleasantly surprised. Next up, the food! The hummus was very flavorful and paired with an amazing fluffy pita bread. The truffle fries were solid but the plate was HUGE, definitely needs a friend to share. The Nashville wings are the star of the show. I cannot stress this enough, this is worth a DRIVE for. The seasoning really does remind you of Howlin' Rays (the highest compliment) and the chicken is extremely crispy yet insanely juicy. The pickles and ranch that it comes with pairs so well. Do note that they are tossing it in pork fat, which enhances the depth but also makes it a little greasy at the end. I also wished they'd warn you this and offer to order it without it; especially for those who don't eat pork or for those trying to cut some calories. There's a happy hour menu too!!! So you can get drinks and food even cheaper. I cannot stop thinking about this place. It's such a sleeper. Head to Midnight Oil after a visit to continue your night.

The breading was average and the sweet chili aioli was poor. I asked for ranch instead, which was an improvement but still not great. The portion itself was fine. Service was solid and friendly! I'd rate the staff around a 4. Based on the food I had, the kitchen lands closer to a 2.5 to 3. Fine if you're already in the hotel and want something casual, but not an amazing choice for the fried seafood.

To me, The Attic represents Long Beach in every possible way. Because that's what makes Long Beach special, right? We're not Orange County. We're not Los Angeles. We're Long Beach. We have our own personality, our own culture, and our own energy. We're a little eclectic, a little unexpected, and completely ourselves. And that's exactly the kind of experience you'll find at The Attic.

I've been here before but never knew that they had happy hour. Well, it's a good thing that I know…read moreabout it now. Last visit we've been was for brunch and it was good. Booth the food and drinks were nice. This visit, we stopped by in the afternoon just as happy hour was starting. There was a good amount of people already inside which could be that in between lunch rush and beginning of happy hour. Getting a table was a cinch as we were seating right away on the patio. It is pet friendly which is also nice. Layout of the restaurant is, majority of the seating is outdoor which is covered. There's the dining area inside the restaurant which is pretty small, another patio to the side of that as well as the private room to the side for more of an intimate experience. Mainly the front patio and bar area tends to be the busiest. Staff were all amazing and friendly which is a major plus. Nobody wants to come an establishment where service is snooty and rude. Everyone was a major doll and the sweetest. Our waiter, I didn't get his name was the sweetest. As it was HH, they only had that menu available. Limited but still decent for what was offered. A good selection in cocktails items and for the price, they were great. As for food, same with limited items but pricing was great. They're known for the Mac and cheese with hot Cheetos as pretty much loads of the tables had ordered it. We've had it prior but this time opted out on it. Started off with one of their sangria which comes either red or white and an old fashioned. Both on the HH menu and very reasonable for 7.00 a pop. Cant beat that. Sangria was quite refreshing with the fruit slices while the old fashioned, it was strong. Actually worth it for 7.00. Food, a mixture of things to share. An order of their fries with parsley and rosemary with an aioli sauce for dipping, 8.00. The braised cheddar brat with house mustard, caramelized onions, Calabrian chili with basil and shallot for 11.00. Quite tasty and flavorful with all the topping and served in a nice roll. The chicken sandwich which was quite big. Fried chicken with cheddar and American cheese, chef sauce, pickles on a benne seed bun for 11.00. And lastly the attic cheeseburger with new school American cheese, pickles, grilled onion aioli, caramelized onions on a benne seed bun cooked medium for 12.00. It was tasty but between that and the chicken sandwich, chicken takes the leads. Pricewise for the sandwiches was great. Everything is à la carte on the menu. They do have other main dishes but we just stuck to the sandwiches. Also a second round of drinks was had. The mango margaritas and the classic. Both tasty and for 7.00 a pop, can't beat that. The whole experience was great. Service was excellent and all the staff were amazing. Patio seating is great as it's perfect for people watching and enjoying the outdoor. Until next time.
