It's a beautiful cafe with great attention to detail. I stopped by with a friend on a Monday afternoon and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks but the place was pretty busy. I ordered the Spanish latte and my friend got the fig & vanilla matcha - both were good and on the sweeter side. The service was pretty bad - the girl who rang us up barely looked up to greet us and when I asked what the baklava syrup was like she pointed to the baklava dessert - I've had baklava plenty of times but never a syrup, she was just very unhelpful and couldn't answer any questions regarding the menu. 3/14/26: Finally! After reading all the wonderful 4- and 5-star reviews, we were able to pop in to Laymoon this particular Saturday afternoon. Y'all weren't lying about this place. :-) We wanted to stop in a couple months ago, while checking out some flower festival on Mill, but when we walked by Laymoon, the line inside went from the register all the way to the back of the shop -- AND there were people waiting outside. There is even a sign on their window that says "if the line is to this spot, please wait outside". Holy cow, that's how popular they are. Neither of us wanted to wait that long or deal with that large of a crowd. We stopped in this Saturday after perusing the Tempe Festival of the Arts, and I can only surmise since it was also spring break for ASU, we were able to get inside the door & get in line. It was not as busy & despite there being only one register, the line went pretty quickly. As other reviewers state, it's a gorgeous space. Well lit, colorful, clean. They have a few tables / booths alcoves designated for 3 or more people & I did not see anyone ignoring that rule. There was a gentleman constantly going from table to table, cleaning off trash, wiping down spaces. Clearly cleanliness is important to them, so thank you for that. Drinks: caramelized fig & vanilla; mango peach. My fig drinks was delicious, the matcha smooth & creamy. The peach drink wasn't bad but I def prefer the match. Food: we only order the pistachio cookie & damn, was that delicious. We should have ordered a spare to take home. My only critique / suggestion, is to stop calling names when orders are ready. Instead, use the order number. Multiple people can have the same or similar-sounding names, but there's only one number. And if it's super busy or noisy, mistakes can happen. One did happen, in fact. My sister provided her name (Diane) but they entered (and called out Diana). Our first drink to come out I didn't pick up because (I thought) it wasn't our order -- and I did see a guy pick up the drink, making me certain it was not ours. When he brought it back, however, that's when I thought "maybe that is ours". I saw a small plate up there, too, and when the second drink came out for "Diana" I went up to pick up everything. Now, had they called out "order 185", there would have been less confusion. 01/26/2026 I had been hesitant to go here if I couldn't be there before they opened to get in line, and especially not on the weekends. Fortunately I had a Monday off, so I got there about 15 minutes before they opened (9am). I would've gotten there sooner but had to find street parking (and pay for it online). There were already 5 people in line ahead of me. The line got much longer by 9am. Ordering took a while, as the employee did not seem fully trained yet. They didn't have many pastry options yet either - I really wanted to try one of their cookies. So all I ordered was the Caramelized Fig & Vanilla Matcha. The waiting area was small, so a lot of people went to wait at a table. I ket waiting by the counter and saw people that ordered after me already received their orders. I went up to one of two baristas that were making all of the drinks and asked. She said they'll make it next, and then she asked a third person to make it. I think what happened is they lost my order slip. Each order gets printed out on a small piece of paper that the baristas then take to their stations and make the drinks. I bet my order slip fell somewhere. I hope they figure out a better system because that caramelized fig matcha was SO good! I would go back for that and to try some of the food. I finally made it to LayMoon Café. What an excellent addition to the downtown Tempe area. There was a bit of a line because it's a new establishment with a lot of hype, but it lives up to the hype and the line moves fast. The service was great with helpful recommendations from the owner on which Matcha to get. The drink was better than the Matcha I had in Kyoto honestly. My girlfriend and went there on a Saturday night during Ramadan, since they were open 24 hours. The line was long but expected, not a deal breaker. Cool ambiance with rugs on the ceiling and multiple large openings on a nice desert "winter" night. I ordered the Baklava Latte and my girlfriend got the Butter Cookie Latte. We also the baklava. I've never seen baklava like this... it was if it was a calzone made into slices with a bunch of pistachio filling and a bunch of honey on the outside of the fila dough. My drink was only good W/O stirring. Once I stirred it up to get the "mocha" up all I/we could taste was the milk and seemed watered down. It's an average coffee spot--nothing really stands out. The coffee wasn't my style; it was very milky and still too sweet even after I asked for half sweet. The cup size is also pretty small for the price, so it didn't feel worth it. The decor is unique and different, but the layout is a bit awkward. It looks spacious, yet there's not much room to walk around or wait for your drink. The setup made it feel a little overwhelming. If you've never been to a Palestinian coffee shop, I'd still recommend trying it at least once for the experience. We went on a Saturday morning so it was super busy with no seating, but while waiting they have different stations of jewelry and apparel that keeps you occupied. Great spot! I got the Baklava latte and i thought it tasted very good and was overall a nice latter, i wish i had gotten something creamier or with some foam but i will try that next time! The chocolate pistachio croissant has been the best chocolate/pistachio anything I've had (and I've tried plenty of dubai chocolate inspired food)! Everyone working was incredibly sweet, but the service was a bit on the slower side, which was to be expected since they had just opened. This would be my spot if I lived in Tempe. The flavors really blew me away. Unique twists on traditional and authentic coffees and teas and they still manage to stay true to the culture. Everything is beautiful, from the decor, to the plating, to the flavor combinations. They have a small collection of non-coffee items as well, which make for a perfect gift or memento. It was packed, but service was surprisingly quick and they were all so nice. I think I even spotted Mom & Pop cooking up the desserts in the kitchen. I will without a doubt be returning! read more

What a beautiful cafe with great service. I met a friend here and instantly knew it was going to be a great place to hang out. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. Although they have a great selection of lattes and matcha drinks I had a chai muffin and a black tea. The muffin was very tasty it had plenty of cinnamon one of my most favorite spices. The cafe is beautifully designed and they sell merch you can peruse while waiting. My husband and I had to order our 3rd and 2nd choice of drink, respectively, due to shortages (hopefully they can work on this as they get into the swing of business). Beautiful ambience, kind staff, and I loved supporting a family-run Palestinian business. The strawberry that was used in the Matcha however just tasted like Monin syrup. Not sure if that's what was used but that's what it looks like and tasted like and for waiting an hour and 30 minutes in line and paying about eight dollars for one drink... I opted to try the caramelized fig matcha with oat milk, with the price point being $9 I would expect a more high quality tasting drink. The matcha felt like it tasted watery. I'm used to paying around $8 or $9 for a matcha but I would have loved more of an earthy flavor to shine though. Ultimately, it tasted more milky with notes of fig that shined through. I always have low expectations for matcha drinks but I was absolutely blown away by the quality and taste of my drink!! I prefer lattes over matcha, but the upside down strawberry matcha sounded good, so I asked for that as a latte instead, and the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly, despite how busy the morning was. They took a few extra moments to create my drink how I wanted it, and the owner even walked my drink out to me to personally hand it to me when it was done. Highly recommend the banana chai muffin as well -- it's gluten free & tastes delicious and fresh! The atmosphere and interior design is gorgeous as well!
