Finally had the chance to get to Experiment coffee and pastry. They are only open Monday-Friday which is a bummer as I usually venture to that side of town on weekends. They were located in an industrial warehouse type area. The inside is super small and no tables. Right when you enter they have all the pastries laid out. Cookies, croissants, breads, cinnamon rolls, lots of options. We ordered 2 lattes- a pumpkin pie and caramelized pistachio. We got a breakfast sandwich, cinnamon roll and cookie. The pastries and sandwich were all fabulous! Great flavor and freshly baked. The lattes were a bit watered down and not a super strong bean. Nice, little to-go cafe! It's a very small cafe with two little stools and there are two tables outside, but it's definitely a grab and go kinda place. I got the churro cold brew and the breakfast sandwich. I liked the coffee a lot, the flavor and sweetness was perfect for me. I'm not going to lie. I've had many danishes and this one was by far my favorite. Every bite was so fresh and tasty. It was the soft and with a slight crunchy edge. I also got a cookie butter latte that came with a biscotti cookie. I thought the hot latte was delightful and paired well with the danish. The coffee shop is very tiny so I wouldn't recommend coming with a large party if you're looking for indoor seating. The woman who took my order was also very nice! I stopped by with my sister yesterday for some pastries and a drink. We walked on in and there was already a customer being helped and someone else walked in right after us. The cashier was super friendly as she welcomed us in and took our order. We ordered one berry matcha and two croissants - one pistachio and one regular. It was already later in the day - close to their closing time so a lot of pastries were already sold out for the day. Both croissants were DELICIOUS. They were flakey, buttery, and super yummy. They also had a nice little crisp to them. The matcha really wasn't our favorite as it was too bitter and we couldn't taste the flavoring. There were a few tables outside with chairs. I thank my fellow Yelpers for guiding me here! If you find yourselves around Southern and Priest roads in Tempe and enjoy coffee and fresh pastries it would be worthwhile for you to stop here. This Johnathan Robbin's wholesale bakery opened in 2020 and has been offering unique pastries and coffees since. Be prepared to have your goodies to go or have a casual sit at one of two of their tables outside. They were sold out of their well known kouigan Amman so I went with their strawberry cream croissant for $5.75. It was fresh and soft though I wished there was a bit more of strawberry and cream filling. On the other hand their almond glazed croissant $6.75 had NO filling but did have a fantastic clear glaze topped with slivered almonds that was flakey and just delicious! Their signature latte $5 which is espresso, honey, bourbon syrup and steamed milk that usually is accompanied by whip cream but I skipped it but opted for oat milk 85 cents due to my intolerance to dairy milk. On my inaugural visits to new spots, I usually order signature items and glad I did but I preferred the pumpkin latte more-$5.25! It probably is a good thing that this business isn't around the corner from me or I'd be there many days a week-but if I'm craving fresh baked scones, cookies or croissants I know where to go! read more

This coffee shop definitely matches its name when it comes to it's food options, they are experiments! The shop had a lot of fun choices I got the Ham and Gruyere Croissant (delicious) and the Fig and Goat Cheese Danish (also delicious). I was extremely happy with my food, the only thing I wish was different was to have more fig on the Danish. I really love figs so that may be an iffy feedback for others. The staff are really friendly and they provide quick services. They also give great recommendations and details about the food. The building is located in an industrial area and may be tricky to find even with Google maps (mine didn't navigate correctly). So just keep that in mind when driving there. There is parking in front of the store, with reserved parking for the store. The parking lot is a little tight. If you have a bigger vehicle I would recommend parking on the street, adds less than a minute to the walk. This is a long overdue review, but this place is truly a gem, and part of me is like why don't more people know about it! It's a small brick and mortar, open only during the weekdays, but if you have time to stop, definitely give it a shot. Came here for a coffee pick me up. This is a tiny place and a one woman show! When you enter you are greeted so warmly and have a feast of pastries. Really enjoyed this place. My friend and I were greeted immediately as we entered, it's a small little spot in a plaza. A little tricky to find and seems a tad out of place so I hope they do well with the unconventional location. I got an iced pistachio latte that had little bits of poctachio. Very delicious, and my friend just got a hot drip coffee with cream which was very good as well. This spot does best with their pastries, we got the fig, goat cheese, and walnut pastry which was amazing, and also the 'best cookie' which is was the best cookie. Found this precious place while waiting for my appointment in Tempe. Hands down all around delicious. All her pastrie (croissants, cookies , muffins and other gourmet pastries) are made fresh daily. She is very friendly and takes the time to describe the gourmet pastries. I didn't have coffee but my husband got a Carmel macchiato. He enjoyed it. This tiny shop has a heart of GOLD and big passion for what they do for people in the area! They make the pastries next door and the baristas are mixing liquid concoctions to get you on your day as fast as their little hands allow! I bought loads of pastries but I had to "try" my Zucchini Bread, first to "baptize" this little gem! It was nice and moist on the inside with visible zucchini strips and flavors on the inside. The first time I journeyed to find it, I thought my navigation may have gotten confused but I decided to trust the process only to find my hidden treasure!! The sign immediately called me in. Walking through the doors, I instantly was comforted by the soothing scent of fresh baked pastries & brewed coffee. The young lady at the counter was helpful & friendly. Allowing plenty of time to look around and make my difficult decision on what to eat now and what to take with me across town to share with my family. This place is a hidden gem I found from the airport to my hotel, the service is top notch from my fellow Filipina providing amazing service, very personable and she made my day! There's no seating inside but there are tables outside for a chill relaxing spot, I was able to enjoy my food and work at the same time even in December, it was beautiful. There's food was excellent I had the turkey brioche, Caramel Pistachio latte, The Best Cookie, & Kouign-Amann. I'm a regular in this cafe since I'm close by. This place is always packed in the morning, rightly so. The coffee is good, the pastries to die for, and every now and then the lunch is amazing (the cheeseburger!!). I've made friends with the lady cashier who works there. I applaud her greatly for her hard work having to man the shop alone for pretty much all the time, and even when she is alone her customer service and friendliness is still top tier. She really sets the ambiance right especially when the day just started. That's why I do hope the customers show some leniency since she's pretty much alone cashiering and making the drinks. The fact that such an exquisite bakery is tucked away and so tiny is criminal. There is nothing mediocre here. They also serve 1 lunch dish that changes every day. The pastries are delicious & the coffee can be inconsistent (acidic espresso or burned milk). I come often so the online ordering makes it convenient since the walk-in service can be slow, as someone prior mentioned, this is a one woman show. I've learned to arrive 5 minutes later than my order ready time & the barista is typically finishing up my order, or I am waiting a minute or two (I once waited 15 minutes past my order ready time). If there was a local shop more convenient than this one, I'd probably go there, but this place does have fantastic pastries. The barista seems to be constantly trying to catch up. She is clearly overworked with little to no room for mistakes and honestly it can bleed into her attitude. An additional person behind the machine could really help this shop grow. read more

A friend of m ine had been raving about this place and their pastries, but they are only opened during the week, as they are in an industrial area. While my husband was out he took the liberty to snag a few things for us to try and it was definitely worth the hype... He snagged three pastries for us: The almond croissant, the kouign amann and their savory goat cheese and fig croissant. They were all out of this world, ESPECIALLY the almond croissant. It was a tad different with the almond glaze on the top of the croissant, but it did not disappoint. First of all, the thing was HUGE, perfectly layered, buttery sweetness and delicious. The barista told my husband the kouign amann is their most popular one. I don't know exactly what it is, but again layered pastry, soft with some sweetness. A great simple morning pastry, without going to crazy and paird really nicely with my espresso. The goat cheese and fig danish was very good, but probably my least favorite. The fig flavor didn't totally resonate. Again, pastry was perfect and definitely worth getting, but out of the three we tried, this one I don't feel inclined to get again. All three came out to about 20 bucks, not cheap, but honestly worth it and most pastries are around this price point these days, and for the quality, money well spent. We didn't get any coffee this time around, but would love to check them out again and try some other things and their coffee offerings. The space is very small, so not a place to work or meet up, but grab some goods to go, absolutely. Tucked away inside an industrial park is this wonderful bakery and cafe! I am so happy I stopped by this morning before heading back to Mesa. I walked in and saw the line-up of pastries and if I had a bunch of money, I would have had one of each! I always order a chocolate croissant wherever I go and for my husband, I ordered a pecan chocolate chip cookie. My drink this morning was an iced honeycomb latte with whole milk. The croissant was amazing - so soft and buttery! I honestly think this was the best croissant I've had. The PCC was also very good and I regret sharing it. I hope to come back to try more of their drinks (and get more pastries) but the latte was very nice for my drive this morning.
