Since returning from Japan we've been searching for a place that has sando sandwiches. We found a place, however it wasn't what we were hoping for. Pair Works is inside Cider Corps. The bar/restaurant is really cool. We ordered some coffee and a sando sandwich. We got our coffee pretty quickly. We did have to wait over 30 minutes for our sandwich. We had to go to the counter to inquire about our. I'm not sure if they forgot or if that's normally how long it takes. Although the sandwich was not horrible it wasn't great. The bread felt a little hard. I did enjoy the pudding/custard that came with the sandwich. I was really excited to try this place but was disappointed with the the wait and the sandwich. read more

I came here with some pals and it was very fun. The coffee is at the end of the bar, but the rest of the bar is for the regular bar. Ironically, Pair takes my #1 for best coffee in AZ because I truly believe they know good coffee and have the skills behind the counter to excel at their craft. They are the kind of place I would trust to offer interesting beans and make a quality cup. What went wrong? They didn't, even though I know they could and it leaves me with an awkward feeling that I'm just helping their bottom line. More specifically, I wanted to treat myself to a nice $15 geisha pourover and it was over extracted and dull. I realize this is just one guy's experience but I've made 5+ long drives out here and there isn't much going on in terms of hospitality which is crucial to enjoy a nuanced experience like coffee and this place just isn't like that. I've visited Pair Cupworks on a few occasions. It's located inside Cider Corps though they do have their own hours and shared patio and offer ample seating to take advantage inside. It's a great spot for a quick drink to go, meet with a friend, group or work. They share a space with Cider Corps and Mykes Pizza, so multiple spots to enjoy if you're looking for one stop!. As of my review, Pair Cupworks closes daily at 2 or 3. Service is always super friendly and they offer classic coffee and tea beverages which you can get to go or glassware if you're staying on site, as well as a few pastries and on todays visit, they had a burritos. I've had their matcha and cold brew before and have enjoyed Botha's well as some other beverages at their BP location. The only reason for the loss star is for their value. It's 6-7 dollars for a beverage that comes in an 8 ounce glass, which is realistically like 4 ounces of actual beverage with the ice. I do enjoy it, but it's just too expensive for a regular visit for what one gets. Still worth a visit, just set the expectations! read more

Pair Cupworks makes amazing craft coffee! Pair Cupworks has been on my list for a year or so and finally got to try it a few months ago. It did not disappoint! It's located inside Cider Corps along with Myke's Pizza. I visited during lunch with my group of four. We ordered pizzas from Myke's and coffees from Pair. While I usually stick to a particular latte flavor, I couldn't resist trying their house-made syrup. I went with a hot classic vanilla latte with oat milk. The presentation was beautiful as you can see in my photo, but the latte tasted even better than it looks. It was smooth, rich, and everything you want a latte to be. The vanilla flavor was excellent and had the right amount of sweetness. Highly recommend! read more

My new go to has just been discovered. Be warned though, this is inside of a restaurant so it can be crowded and may have a wait as the coffee bar is small. Despite this, the barista put his heart and soul into these drinks. He took his time in a "make it good" type way and not a dragging on type way. I got a vanilla chai which tasted yummy and then a vanilla latte. The coffee was so smooth and flavorful I want to buy the beans and make the roast. It was a disappointment as I drove out of the way to stop here before work. The location is very difficult to find as it's not labeled outside. Cider Corps and Myke's Pizza are some of my favorite businesses in the Mesa area so I figured the coffee shop in the building should be just as good. I was right! Nestled at the end of the counter towards the back of the building is Pair Cupworks. It's small but has a mighty intriguing menu with various single origin coffees, a variety of teas, and some seasonal menu items. I love how they encourage you to bring in your own cup to reduce waste, now that I know I will have to remember to bring mine in on my next coffee or tea run. I also appreciate that they do not charge extra for nondairy milk options (Almond and oat as of 8-2023), hooray for not being penalized for lactose intolerance! After browsing through the menu posted on the glass window screen, I felt like an iced tea drink. I noticed they offered hojicha tea which can be hard to find here so I ordered the iced hojicha latte with oat milk and cardamom syrup. The total was a little under $5 and it was a small size, maybe around 8 oz. It was delicious! I loved the roasty toasty flavor of the hojicha mixed in with the creamy oat milk. I couldn't taste a lot of cardamom flavor in the drink but the syrup did add some subtle sweetness to the iced tea. Service was friendly and accommodating. Located in a big shop with a brewery and a pizza place, Pair Cupworks is a good spot to go to when you're wanting a midday drink, but not quite ready for a beer. The location/building is very nice. There was a lot of sun, and it was very spacious (something I wasn't expecting). It made for a great coffee shop to sit around and get some work or reading done. Right now, there is a collaboration going on between Pair Cupworks and Mogwai Boba, so I got a chocolate hojicha and boba drink. At first, I was hesitant to try it. I am a boba fiend, so I was scared that it wouldn't live up to my expectations. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Despite how busy the inside was, I received my drink pretty quickly. The photos were promising and the coffee was excellent! I had a well balanced cappuccino. I've been to this location before for Myke's and Cider Corps, but not for coffee/tea. It was a great reprieve from the heat of the day. There were already a handful of people scattered about at tables working on laptops. Indie Pop/Rock playing overhead. I ordered the Sparkling Matcha, served iced. They described at as refreshing. And for those who know and like Matcha, the sparkling water does provide a refreshing crisp to earthy Matcha. The only downside to todays visit was the wait for my drink. The barista took my order and I had to ask about my order after waiting for almost 10-15 minutes, and my ticket was just sitting on the counter. Think the default might be a double shot or my caffeine tolerance has gotten lower. Pair is a shared space with Cider Corp and a pizza joint, so just look for the cider sign and you've found the right place. The guy making my drink was wearing a James Coffee shirt so I liked him immediately, since we go there weekly back home in San Diego. My husband ordered an iced vanilla latte with almond milk and the Guatemala Pour over while I ordered the double espresso with the Ethiopian Pour over to go. The espresso was presented beautifully with a side of sparkling water to cleanse the palate. It was smooth, hot and gave me the zip I was looking for. They don't serve drip coffee so we opted for two different roasts and got pour overs instead of an americano. My husband then ordered his usual go to drink to take back to the rental house. I believe the owner was there chatting it up with the customers but completely oblivious to the fact that he was making it difficult for people to get around him and the stroller to the register. Had he stopped talking for two minutes out of the 30 straight minutes he was yapping, he would've recognized how annoyed others were to move around him. We give major credit to the guys taking our order and crafting the drinks. They were trained well and the quality from Pair is top notch. read more

(go add her!) talking about a HK-Style Milk Tea and a Black Sesame Latte so I had to get it! We made a whole event out of it where we started off with ciders from Cider Corps, pizza from Myke's Pizza, and ending it with some drinks. The Black sesame latte was smooth but the black sesame flavor was mild. The HK-Style Milk Tea was more enjoyable but leaned more towards milk than tea. I tried my friend's Vietnamese coffee and I wouldn't say it's better than any other authentic Vietnamese coffee I've had. I give them all the kudos for having great Asian items but all the drinks were pretty tame in terms of flavor. Guy Fieri would not find Flavortown here. Pair Cupworks is a quaint coffee stall inside Cider Corps, at the end of their bar. Don't make this a destination unless you're also grabbing ciders and pizza. Decided to take a stroll through Downtown Mesa today and try Pair Cupworks as it has been on my list for awhile. Pair is located INSIDE of Cider Corps, Ste. 103. There is no markings on the door but there was a little chalkboard outside. Although I knew this I was still a little confused. The barista/bartender asked if I was there for coffee or brews and led me to the small coffee section at the end of the bar. I inquired about the black sesame latte and HK style milk tea latte as I had seen it on the menu but alas, those were seasonal and rotated out :( So get the specials while you can! The thai tea latte was definitely intriguing as I love thai tea and espresso but I decided to try the habanero mocha, iced, with oat milk. It comes in one size, either 12 or 16oz (not sure).With dairy it comes out to $5.75; as I chose oat milk it came out to $6.23. I had barely taken a glimpse and a seat when the barista brought it over to me. So quick! The habanero mocha was soo smooth! I definitely got a pleasant aftertaste of the habanero! Not too overwhelming or spicy but definitely there! Overall, enjoyable! At $6.23 it's not the most expensive cup of coffee I've ever had but it's also a little pricer than your average coffee chain. A very chill place with delicious coffee and great seasonal selections! You can tell they really care about their craft here. Parking: there's a lot attached to the south side of the building. So convenient! Seating: Lots of large communal tables, and a few smaller tables for up to 2 people. There's also some outdoor patio seating available. Ambiance: I came here around 10 am and 12pm on two weekdays and it was not busy at all!! There were a few people throughout the dining area having coffee with a friend, and some others on their computer. I was among the folks on a computer, and the ambiance felt very chill overall. It wasn't noisy to the point where I'd get distracted; and there was also just enough white noise to get focused. Drinks: On my first visit, I ordered an iced habanero mocha with oat milk. The habanero wasn't as prominent as I'd hoped for. It was more of a touch of heat on the aftertaste rather than a notable amount of heat on the main sip itself (if that makes sense). I did casually mention to the barista that I was weak with spicy food, so it might be possible that it wasn't as spicy because I mentioned that... Otherwise, the mocha itself was mildly sweet, which I thought was great. On my second visit, I got the same drink except hot. The latte was silky smooth and the latte art was a lovely touch! As expected, I still felt like the drink still could have been spicier especially if it's branded with the word "habanero". To the baristas: don't be afraid to turn up the heat next time, y'all!! You won't offend anyone! Service: The barista who took my order (both times) was very friendly and offered explanations of the drinks when I said I was a first timer! Overall, we had a brief but pleasant interaction. Hopes and Ideas: Hmm, this place is situated in a cider brewery... I wonder whether they would consider serving flights of coffee? I'd love to do a tasting of a few of the types of coffee they sell, or coffee brewed using different methods so coffee beginners (like me) can learn what their preferences are! If they had these options on my first visit, I would have definitely bumped this rating up to a 5/5. Went here after shopping at Meat Market Vintage, space was so easy to find because of the sign outside! Inside was so cool and definitely worth it for the AC alone lol. The guy who made my drink was so nice and recommended some things to me, I can see why people love this place so much. I would give this a 4.5 star rating if I could, but I unfortunately would like to dock off points for the drink size. It's really small, wish there was more because it was so delicious!
