We went out of our way to try this cafe, and wow, terrible service. I'm surprised to see it in this 'hood. We weren't greeted as we entered and approached the counter. And there were no customers there. It was around 1:20pm on a Saturday. Our order was taken in an unfriendly blah kinda way. Whatever. I asked for a cappuccino in a mug for here and was told it's paper cup only because they close in 40 minutes. Are you fucking kidding me? Seriously? When the drink was done I went and grabbed mine and what I assumed was my wife's as we were the only one's there. Then my wife said the drink couldn't be hers because it's iced. I brought it back to the counter and the girl is like, "Yeah, that's not your second drink. I'm making it now." She's right there and I guess didn't notice my taking the other drink. Whatever. I can definitely give a pass on that. But then when the second was done, I said "thanks" and got no response. The place is filthy. Crumbs everywhere. Thankfully the drink was good and the only thing keeping this from being 1 star. But my god, the place is charming and in a great area. Cute neighorhood coffee place. It was packed on Saturday morning and seems to be popular with the locals. Burrito with egg bacon and cheese was filling and paired well with their homemade salsa. The almond croissant was not one of the best I've had, it was rather hollow inside and didn't have much almond paste flavor. The coffees are good and decently priced. Service was good but the burrito took a long time to come out, and the almomd croissant sat at the counter for a while before we realized it was our order, and it was tricky navigating the long line of people to get up to the counter. read more

Another great local coffee shop! I was in the area and saw this place pop up on my map, so I was curious to check it out. I ordered a cappuccino, which was well balanced and delicious. I was intrigued by some of the items on their menu such as "red eye" vs "black eye" vs "purple eye", which all are variations on a drink with a bunch of espresso shots in it! The ambiance was cozy and eclectic with unique art on the walls. The service was great. There's also a bar around the espresso machine which makes the space even more inviting and unique. There are plenty of coffee options so it's not hard to find exactly what you want. The food and drinks are all reasonably priced for the area and are excellent. There are a lot of pastry options and they even have gluten free crustless quiche. The shorty breakfast burrito was fantastic and a generous portion. It was hot and perfectly toasted. The salsa that it came with was so fresh and flavorful. The breakfast of champions also comes with a generous amount of blueberries and perfectly crisp bacon. On the weekends I've also seen live music on the patio really adding to that traditional coffee shop vibe. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious...I chose mine on a croissant this time, and wow, was it flaky and buttery. Arrived around 7:20 AM and it was quit busy- most seemed like the regulars at the coffee house. The baristas were greeting their regulars and even remembering their drink. I got the jalapeño quiche-good and had lots of cheese! It had some heat too. The edges were a bit hard, wasn't sure if it was over cooked or a few days old. My coffee was nutty and bold. I stopped by here last week with my son for my morning coffee. We were staying at the Great Wolf Lodge for a couple of days and I fired up Yelp to find a coffee place nearby and found Village Coffee Roastery. The coffee shop is located in a strip mall and the inside has a good amount of room. They have lots of tables to sit at, a coffee roaster and then a counter with a couple of displays for baked goods. After looking at the menu on the morning I asked if they had any specials and was told that there were drip specials by the door. With that in mind I ended up ordering a large latte for myself and then iced mochas for my wife and her mother. My son also noticed a bagel in the display case and so I ended up ordering that for him. I had it toasted and by the time we got back to the hotel, he had finished it, so I have to assume that he enjoyed it. As for my coffee I thought that it was pretty good. While I didn't get the roasted in the last couple of days flavor I was hoping for, the coffee itself was bold and delicious. It cut through the milk for more of a coffee flavor than you usually get with a latte which I personally enjoyed. Then my wife thought her mocha was nice. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I appreciate that they roast their own beans and both my wife and I enjoyed our coffees here. read more

I've been coming here for almost 15 years. They have been in business for well over 20 and there is a good reason. The coffee is THE best. The espresso drinks are great, but what really sets this place apart is drip coffee and the whole beans. The staff here is also reliably awesome. I've been coming here long enough to have seen several different "generations" of staff and they are always fun, attentive, efficient and kind. The only problem with this place is that when you are somewhere else, or god for it you have to go to a Starbucks, you will be forever disappointed by subpar coffee. read more

It's inside a cute little shopping center with beautiful architecture and lovely greenery. I ordered the Lox sandwich on a bialy and it was really fresh and delicious. It came with capers, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion and cream cheese. It was really good. I ordered the hot chai latte with almond milk and the flavor was light and tasty. Not sure why people have loved this place outside of coffee. The service is atrocious. Some older pony tailed lady at the front is so pretentious and standoffish it's plain weird. They literally charge $1.50 for oat milk (mind you an entire container is about $3), more than any other coffee shops. When I asked about it she just stared at me. So I stared back. And then it got weird. I asked about the "world famous" banana bread, wondering what makes it world famous, and she said well the owner calls it that b/c it's her sister. I literally thought it had won an award, like why else would someone around the world know it?!? Coffee was really good and the barista nice. But I think this is place comprised of locals more than regular customers coming in. Maybe this place was incredible years past and thus the reasoning for high reviews but I agree with those who reviewed this place latest, unfriendly service seems consistent here. Didn't try the food, might return and test that and the front desk lady's mood again. read more
