I've been coming to this coffee shop for the past three years, and it has truly become one of my favorite places in Arizona. When I first moved here, I stopped in out of curiosity, and I still remember how genuinely kind and welcoming every employee was. As someone who was new to the area, that first impression meant a lot. Three years later, the same warm atmosphere keeps me coming back. Their hours have always worked perfectly with my schedule, giving me a comfortable place to study after work. There is plenty of seating, and best of all, lots of outlets, which has been a lifesaver for someone like me with an ancient laptop that seems to lose battery the moment I turn it on! Beyond the amazing coffee and cozy ambiance, what really sets this place apart is its commitment to the community. They regularly host events that are open to the public and even keep an event calendar posted so customers can stay informed. I've also seen them partner with organizations like Prisma HealthCare to offer free health screenings, which speaks volumes about how much they care about the people they serve. This isn't just a coffee shop. It's a place where you feel welcomed, supported, and connected. Between the wonderful employees, delicious coffee, inviting atmosphere, and genuine sense of community, it's easy to see why I've been a loyal customer for so long. Brick Road Coffee is an awesome spot. I came here with some friends around 130pm on a Saturday and it was busy!!! Lots of places to sit inside, I think every seat was full. There's also a lending library, which I think is for people to use during their visits to the coffee shop! There were lots of delicious looking pastries, breakfast items and drinks to choose from. I chose one of the summer specials called Beach Day latte. It was good! My friends also liked what they got. There were stickers and merch for purchase too. A book by a local author was also for sale and I ended up buying a copy since it looked like a good read! I will definitely be back! read more

I've moved to a nearby neighborhood recently and Brick Road is honestly one of my favorite things about this area. Among my friends I'm known as the coffee guy and the baker, and not only is their coffee excellent but they've got unbelievably good gluten free and vegan pastries. I'm not gf or vegan and yet I get those pastry options regularly because they are so good. The folks that work there are so friendly, after just two visits they were already treating me like a regular. The shop is inviting, cozy, and built for you to spend time there. BEST COFFEE IN TEMPE! I visited Brick Road Coffee because I heard amazing things on Yelp and beyond. The coffee and pastries are exceptional, everything is expertly crafted and well-made. From the wide selection of lattes, I picked Brick Road's Iced Spiced Brown Sugar Shaken Latte, it was perfect, I paired it with a vegan pastry made with brown sugar (I asked for it warm), I melted when I ate it! The pastries are the right amount of sweet. Service was excellent, the baristas are so friendly and welcoming! It's rare to find such polite and helpful staff. They greeted us with a smile and made everyone feel at home. I love the inclusive atmosphere and incredible art on the walls! The merch (tees, stickers), books, and family feel created a comfortable environment where I could imagine myself chilling with a book and just resting. There's tables inside and out, I opted to sit outside so I can enjoy the cool winter day. Next time, I plan to eat inside so can enjoy the gentle lighting and incredible coffee aroma. Very cute, extremely LGBTQ friendly shop. I also loved the little book nook they had where you can leave and also borrow a book. The baristas were very friendly and gave me the recommendation of the iced Spiced Cookie Latte which was a gingerbread-y, cookie butter type deal. Decent enough taste. Local owned coffee shop with cute decorations and welcoming atmosphere located on Rural and next to the highway. This seems to be an extremely popular coffee spot, especially when I went (Sunday around 1pm). The coffee shop had tables and chairs outside and they were all full and there were people standing around chatting outside the shop with their drinks. When you go inside, it is also extremely busy with all the tables being used and a lot of people standing in line waiting to order and waiting for their drinks. The only complaint I have about the inside is that it is extremely narrow near the entrance and order/pick up location and they also have a lot of shelves and stands in that area to hold items for sale. It gives a very claustrophobic feeling, if you have bad anxiety please be mindful of this. The baristas were really friendly and helped recommend a drink when I couldn't decide. My drink was made pretty quickly for how busy it was inside. I got an iced Blackberry Lavendar latte with oatmilk. The drink was refreshing and not too heavy. The blackberry and lavendar flavors were pronounced and balanced, the taste of the actual coffee was a little funky...but overall it was a pretty good drink still. They have a lot of fun drink choices, I will definitely come back and try something new. They also had a lot of food items with gluten free and vegan options. The food items were huge, and they have a lot of fun and delicious looking options! I did not get any this time around since I had just got lunch, but I did have to talk myself out of it a few times. I really appreciated that this coffee shop offered dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan options for their drinks and food, making it extremely inclusive for people with food allergies or intolerance. A disclaimer: After reading lower rated reviews on Yelp, I think it is important to mention that this is an LGBTQIA owned coffee shop, this is acknowledged on their website and in-store. The coffee shop is set up to create an environment and safe space for marginalized communities, and they are welcoming to all. The coffee shop does have a lot of LGBTQIA decorations and items for sale, it also has a lot of political items for sale. (See my pictures for some items to provide context). If you look at their website before going you will see that they are really extremely transparent and open about this being the environment that you will walk into. If this is something that you are not comfortable with, then I would NOT recommend coming to this coffee shop. read more

A coworker told me this was his favorite coffee shop. I was in the area so I had to try! Very cute shop and places for groups or couples to hang out inside and outside. They have a book with books and adult coloring books with colored pencils you could use while there. I got a pumpkin spice latte. This is one of the most perfect balances of spice creaminess and still be able to taste the flavors of coffee coming through. I was also tempted by the large lemon bar and had to get. It had a nice tanginess without being too tart or too sweet and the crust was a perfect thin crispy. I inhaled it a little too quick that I didn't get a photo! What a gem of a find! Very LGBTQAI ‍ supportive. I've been twice now and the staff were warm and friendly both times. The first time I had the coffee cake and this last time I had the cranberry orange muffin. Both were tasty! Also, I absolutely love the lavender honey latte! It's amusing, comforting and warming to my heart to see The Golden Girls projecting on the wall, which were such ally's before many were. What a gem, I felt like there was this culture of care and kindness when I first visited yesterday. I came in on a Saturday around noon with 2 others. It was pretty busy, and we probably waited in line for 10-15 mins. I ordered the Blueberry Pancake Latte (advertised as a spring drink, so get it while it's still in season!) and my sister ordered a Cinnamon Roll Latte -- both were DELICIOUS, I miss it already lol. As I was checking out, I signed up for rewards, and it allowed me to redeem the points I had received just for signing up right then (it gave me $2 off). But even without the discount though, the pricing wasn't too crazy. When I said this place felt so kind, it was because of the vibe and because of some interactions we had while here: while waiting for our drinks, we looked around and noticed the walls, stickers (available for purchase by the register), bookshelves, and the cool projector that seemed to be showing an episode of Golden Girls. From everything we read and saw, it already felt like a very inclusive and safe space for everyone. As the three of us were about to sit down, two people came up to us saying they could switch and take our small table so we can have their bigger one, since there were fewer of them -- so sweet! After waiting for 15 mins, something came up and we had to leave ASAP. I flagged down one of the servers and asked if we can delay our drinks for pickup later, but they were so kind and made us our drinks really quick even though it was so busy (well apparently we were next anyway but they were still very nice about it)! We drank the drinks in the car and we were wowed -- my Blueberry Pancake Latte tasted exactly like a blueberry pancake. Same with my sister's order. Good coffee with a good atmosphere! There is a good amount of seating to work and study at. They also have quite a few tables on the patio in front of the shop as well for outdoor seating. Stopped in at Brick Road Coffee looking for something refreshing. I opted to get two smoothies the Sour Patch and the Desert Sunset. I have to say I've had the Sour Patch flavors in other smoothies so it wasn't something new and excited but still good. My favorite was the Desert Sunset, now this drink I would highly recommend. The barista was very nice, I asked her what her favorite vegan treat was & she said the brownie but everything is good. I wasn't in the mood for a brownie so I opted for the vegan coffee cake. Brick Road is a weekly stop for my husband and I on Saturdays, driving 30 minutes just to soak up the queer joy of this place. Staff is friendly and the owners are great. I love supporting a place where people can be themselves, and the fact the Golden Girls is always playing in the back is a bonus. The place is always full, whether it be families with kids, college students, or people like my husband and I that just like good coffee. The drinks are always so good! I've been getting the Harvest Moon as of late, and it's delicious! I love that they have a non-coffee drink with so much flavor, especially when it has Ube in it! Thank goodness for Brick Road for opening until 10pm! I had awesome time here for a meeting! I already had my coffee for the day, so I settled for a hot apricot peach tea. They even offered me honey, which I said no to this time. However, I love that the option is there! Plenty of seating inside and outside. I first discovered this place in Mesa when it was called "empower coffee" once we realized it was the gays running it we KNEW the coffee was gonna be FIRE. And we were RIGHT. Brick Road is always a delight! I stopped here after a hike with my dog and grabbed a lavender oat milk latte and a pup cup, our go to! The line was long but the staff were friendly and efficient. The coffee shop itself is LGBTQIA+ friendly and does a lot for the community, which I love. It may not be for everyone but I encourage those who have reservations to be open minded and check it out anyway. There are also hosted events held there and I'm looking forward to joining one! My latte was delicious and balanced, I was able to get some decaf some full caf, and the pup cup was obviously a hit. Golden Girls was playing on the projector and there were lots of folks working and enjoying the atmosphere, which is bright and fun. There are some comments here about loud music but I don't think there was any when I went, it was easy to hear my barista and vice versa, so not sure what that's about. Anyway, give it a try! I've been here before but it's been a while. Always a lovely place to visit! I got a wicked themed tea (Elfaba) and it was green & glittery. It was not as sweet as I had hoped but still good. While I was waiting for my drink, I was browsing books and was informed by one of the staff members that they had a lending library and I was free to take the book with me. We stumbled upon this place a few months back, now I come literally multiple times a day every time I'm in town. Super accommodating, great at handling allergies.
