Menu (August 2025)
Tiffany J.

My friend knows how much I love coffee so she brought me to her favorite coffee shop when I visited back in August. If you're curious about the name (like I was), AZ was the 48th state to join the Union. Coffee 48 is designed for grab and go. The shop is extremely small. There's not much of a waiting area and the seating is very limited. You can place an order ahead of time for pick up. There was a steady stream of customers when we visited, but the baristas were efficient with getting drinks to customers. The menu is quite extensive. They have an array of coffee and tea beverages. I liked that the menu had photos of every drink. The beverages are very colorful and visually appealing. My friend ordered the Pandan Latte which is one of her favorites. I went with the Coconut Espresso. It was good, but very sweet! If I were to order it again, I would modify the sweetness level. I didn't make any modifications but they have unique options like crystal boba and cheese foam. With creative menu offerings, I can see why Coffee 48 is so popular!

Small shop if you haven't been in before but cute! We came here because my husband was fed ads for them on his instagram but we are a sucker for coffee. We tried some of the new seasonal drinks, can't even remember what it was but they were so good. The girls there were super nice and efficient with the orders coming in since there were a few others before us. We wanna try more of the menu for sure!

Love this Vietnamese coffee place ! Flavors are always so unique. Their Vietnamese coffee is good and I love their earl grey latte and blue butterfly latte! Service is always nice but it is a small place where you just grab and go.

Gave this place another try and I am so glad I did. I stopped by with friends yesterday and we ordered three matcha's and one yogurt drink. It was super busy when we arrived and the line was out the door. We waited about 10 minutes for our drinks which was not bad considering the line. I ordered the new iced matcha latte with the ube cold foam and let me tell you, it was the bombbbbbbb. My friends ordered a strawberry matcha and a blueberry matcha and those were also delicious! The blueberry yogurt drink was also a hit. The iced matcha's are a plus here!

This is a super cool little coffee shop. VERY little! Don't plan to come work here- there's no seating! But as a grab and go type of coffee place, I think it's awesome. I got their earl grey iced coffee. It was delicious. They had so many cool flavors it was hard to choose! Super fast and great customer service. Will definitely be back!

This place doesn't have a ton of seating but is a great stop and go. Our drinks came quick but mine wasn't filled up all the way which was unfortunate since the drinks have so much ice in them. It felt like I barely got any. I ordered a strawberry yogurt which was yummy though. I also tried the tiramisu latte and that was yummy too.

got a strawberry foam matcha.. it's way way way too sweet and doesn't taste fresh, very artificial like cereal milk. maybe I got the wrong drink

My friend and I were meeting up before a pottery class in the area and since she loves matcha we decided to try out Coffee 48! This is the smallest coffee shop I've seen, so be prepared to take your drink and go! There was a pretty decent sized drink menu with coffee and matcha. I opted for the blueberry matcha with almond milk and it was pretty good! I wish there was a tiny bit more blueberry syrup or flavor but it was good! I would come back and try something else on the menu next time too!

I was highly persuaded by my friend to try this coffee shop. She raves about it and has been in multiple times! The coffee shop is a stop and go shop. Only has 2 chairs and 2 stools to sit and wait for your drink order. I appreciate the menu is places on the outside and at the counter. It included pictures of the drinks with names but I would loved it they could include descriptions of the drink ingredients a little more. They offer "limited time only" drinks selections to spice up your day. I ordered the Tiramisu Latte and it tastes like a creamy coffee with cocoa hints. It's smooth, rich, and sweet. It is not bitter. I would be open to try their other drinks.

Favorite favorite favorite coffee shop. Since the first time I went there about 2 weeks ago, I have gone back atleast 7 times. I am going through the entire menu and have not had one bad drink yet! The space is really small and is definitely you pick up your coffee and leave. Service is quick and staff is super friendly! Favorite drink is the coconut expresso!

Tried Coffee 48 for the first time and had a bit of trouble finding it- it's a very small spot located on the side opposite of Busan Mart. The café itself is tiny, with only three seats inside, so it's not really a place to sit down and study or hang out for long. That said, the drink menu is surprisingly extensive, offering a wide range of options beyond just coffee. I went with the Vietnamese latte, which was good, though I'd probably try something different next time. Heads up: there's a 4% surcharge for debit or credit card payments, so it's a good idea to bring cash. Still, always great to support a small local business--glad I got to check it out!

My favorite Vietnamese coffee shop in Tempe. Offering a variety of coffee, tea and yogurt drinks. It's a small business meant for grab and go. Each cup is crafted to perfection.

The staff was so kind and welcoming the second I stepped in. I ordered the matcha latte with strawberry foam and it was perfectly sweet. I will definitely be back and world highly recommend this cafe to anyone!

I had their regular cold brew with a splash of cream and a Sunrise Sandwich- both were so good! The cold brew had a lovely aftertaste that in my opinion, reminded me of dark chocolate and whiskey. Service was also fantastic- the lovely barista was thorough in her explanations of each cold coffee option to help me find what I was looking for! My sandwich was also lovely- the Sunrise Sandwich on an Everything Bagel is easily my favorite breakfast sandwich in Tempe. The Basil Pesto adds a bit of freshness to an otherwise very rich sandwich. Also stopped in a few more times on my evening walks for a Lavender Haze (seasonal earl grey sage honey drink: EXCELLENT!) and their seasonal energy drink- it was a Sunset Spritz (energy with grapefruit pink cordial): both delicious. Happy to say service has improved greatly. Employees are on task and happy to answer my questions. The drinks on the seasonal menu are very good, and their classics are also great. If you're going to go soon, I'm a big fan of the Sage honey and a big fan of the cordial syrup on the 2026 Spring Menu. Will definitely be hitting Infusion up for some future study sessions. Glad to see Infusion takes customer feedback seriously.

I drove from Glendale to Tempe on Sunday morning, just for this coffee experience! I was so happy to find dedicated parking (turn into the parking structure at the address) and Shibam's entrance is just steps away! The service was great and it was plenty of seating available, even though it's a small place inside. I appreciated the fast, friendly service. I chose the Shibam latte (gotta go for the namesake for the 1st visit) and a beef sambusa! The latte was beautifully delicious and the sambusa was flaky and so flavorful! I am gonna add to my order and get the potato sambusa next time! I loved the tactile experience of grabbing the cup of coffee, balancing the filled-to-the-rim cup of coffee and guiding the cup to my lips! Just delightful! I will definitely be back and next time bring friends!

Nomad Boba is a cozy Vietnamese inspired boba shop with cute honeycomb and bee style decor. There is seating inside on some couches. I would say it's best served for smaller groups of 2-3 people if they're not busy. The owner has always been pleasant, and it's usually just him running the shop, so you may have to wait a tiny bit to place your order if he's making drinks. Nomad Boba definitely leans on the sweeter side for boba shops. I'm typically a 25% sugar level kind of boba drinker, but I have consistently found Nomad Boba way too sweet for me even at 25% sugar level. I'm also not the biggest fan of their matcha blends. For drinks, I would highly recommend their Thai teas. They offer different blends of Thai teas! It's up there for one of the better Thai teas I've had in Arizona so far. What's interesting is that their Thai tea is a little smoky. I love it for that intrigue. Nomad Boba is a little difficult to find in the Culdesac if you're not looking for it. You have to walk toward street side to find it. They offer some fun drinks that other boba shops don't, so it's definitely worth checking out at least once.

The flavor combination was fantastic and very well balanced. The boba itself was a nice texture and it was FRESH. Everyone in my party really enjoyed their drinks. I will be back for sure.

This is second time this has happened. I asked if I can get a receipt to upload for points and she said "no, we don't do that" If you want people to use the app that should be asked and suggested to help promote. This is bad marketing because they seem to not be able to figure how to promote or ask their customers something THEY OFFER. I didn't even want to use my free drink reward, would just like credit towards my $8 coffee. This location absolutely sucks. The espresso bean is the only reason to even go to this establishment and the ONLY reason they didn't get 1 star. Save yourself the money spent there and go to another coffee shop. The iced shaken butter began taste like just straight up espresso, no flavor, no sweetness. More bitter than me after they wouldn't care to help a customer.
