Nice spot to stop and get a quick coffee/matcha! I decided to try their Vietnamese latte, and the sweet cream on top was so good paired with the coffee. I think the Vietnamese coffee wasn't as strong as I hoped it would be. The service is quick, I was in and out within the first five minutes. I think this is a good spot if you need something fast!
My friend knows how much I love coffee so she brought me to her favorite coffee shop when I visited back in August. If you're curious about the name (like I was), AZ was the 48th state to join the Union. Coffee 48 is designed for grab and go. The shop is extremely small. There's not much of a waiting area and the seating is very limited. You can place an order ahead of time for pick up. There was a steady stream of customers when we visited, but the baristas were efficient with getting drinks to customers. The menu is quite extensive. They have an array of coffee and tea beverages. I liked that the menu had photos of every drink. The beverages are very colorful and visually appealing. My friend ordered the Pandan Latte which is one of her favorites. I went with the Coconut Espresso. It was good, but very sweet! If I were to order it again, I would modify the sweetness level. I didn't make any modifications but they have unique options like crystal boba and cheese foam. With creative menu offerings, I can see why Coffee 48 is so popular!

We got here right when it opened and I understand it was busy but the customer service was barely acceptable. There was no hi how are or any greeting it was purely what's your order, anything else, next. They did nothing to direct the flow of traffic or tell you where to stand. The space inside is extremely small so it would've helped tremendously if they said something like "we'd appreciate if you could wait outside until your name and order is called, we appreciate your patience" but nothing along the lines of that was said. A lot of customers were confused and had the same name but obviously different orders and getting mixed up with each other's orders. The cup size is also extremely small. $6 after tax for a small cup of tea that's not even filled to the top is absolutely ridiculous. The flavor and sweetness of the drink itself was absolutely amazing, however, due to the service and price and sizing, I will not be coming back.

We tried some of the new seasonal drinks, can't even remember what it was but they were so good. The girls there were super nice and efficient with the orders coming in since there were a few others before us. We wanna try more of the menu for sure!
This is a super cool little coffee shop. VERY little! Don't plan to come work here- there's no seating! But as a grab and go type of coffee place, I think it's awesome. I got their earl grey iced coffee. It was delicious. They had so many cool flavors it was hard to choose! Super fast and great customer service. Will definitely be back!
My friend and I were meeting up before a pottery class in the area and since she loves matcha we decided to try out Coffee 48! This is the smallest coffee shop I've seen, so be prepared to take your drink and go! There was a pretty decent sized drink menu with coffee and matcha. I opted for the blueberry matcha with almond milk and it was pretty good! I wish there was a tiny bit more blueberry syrup or flavor but it was good! I would come back and try something else on the menu next time too!

Only has 2 chairs and 2 stools to sit and wait for your drink order. I appreciate the menu is places on the outside and at the counter. It included pictures of the drinks with names but I would loved it they could include descriptions of the drink ingredients a little more. They offer "limited time only" drinks selections to spice up your day. I ordered the Tiramisu Latte and it tastes like a creamy coffee with cocoa hints. It's smooth, rich, and sweet. It is not bitter. I would be open to try their other drinks.

The space is really small and is definitely you pick up your coffee and leave. Service is quick and staff is super friendly! Favorite drink is the coconut expresso!
This place doesn't have a ton of seating but is a great stop and go. Our drinks came quick but mine wasn't filled up all the way which was unfortunate since the drinks have so much ice in them. It felt like I barely got any. I ordered a strawberry yogurt which was yummy though. I also tried the tiramisu latte and that was yummy too.

The café itself is tiny, with only three seats inside, so it's not really a place to sit down and study or hang out for long. That said, the drink menu is surprisingly extensive, offering a wide range of options beyond just coffee. I went with the Vietnamese latte, which was good, though I'd probably try something different next time. Heads up: there's a 4% surcharge for debit or credit card payments, so it's a good idea to bring cash. Still, always great to support a small local business--glad I got to check it out!

Tried out this place today! I got the pandan latte with crystal boba, and it was good. There so many others I want to try! So, I'll be back! The place is tiny. It's not a place where you sit and hang out (unless I missed it). It's clean, quick service, order, pay, and go! FYI, if you want to use your card, there's 4% charge. Completely understand, since the CC companies charge small businesses a fee. So, just make sure to bring some cash with you if you want to avoid the fee. Not a big deal. read more
I've been wanting to try Coffee 48 for a while now so when I found myself in the area, I couldn't pass up the chance to finally try them! My friend and I arrived early afternoon and there was no line. However, more people came after we ordered. I didn't realize there was no seating. It's basically just a counter inside a small room within a collective. It's meant for grab-and-go. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee with ube cold foam and since I was visiting a friend after, I decided to bring her a matcha. I got her a matcha with ube cold foam. The Vietnamese coffee was nice and strong and the ube cold foam was a great addition. I had a sip of my friend's ube matcha and thought it was good, too. I would probably visit often if I was closer! read more

A great pick-me-up spot if you're in the area and looking for options between coffee and matcha! I have not been to Coffee 48 before, but have only heard good things, so when me and my coworker were nearby we had to make a stop. I ordered the matcha latte with ube cold foam, and oat milk. I really wanted to try the earl grey matcha latte, but unfortunately the earl gray is pre-mixed with 2% milk so I had to go non-dairy. The ube cold foam was actually the perfect flavor, it had the earthiness and vanilla richness that I was looking for to accent the matcha. The matcha itself on the other hand, was a little too milky for my tastes, and kind of got lost in the ube flavor. I would have loved for it to be a little stronger! There was virtually no wait when I came in, but it's definitely a small space with only 2 seats and a small table, so this is a grab-and-go kind of spot. Don't expect a work space! Overall, a good spot with lots of tasty sounding options, and I think I'll be back to try the coffee. read more

We just had some of our favourite matcha's since moving to AZ! Service was friendly and everything on the menu looked amazing. Coffee 48 is a Vietnamese coffee and tea shop located in Tempe. The inside area is very small, with just one table and two chairs. Definitely more of a takeout place. Would highly recommend the matcha! read more

Fair warning- the place is addictive. Currently drinking may way trough the menu and so far the strawberry matcha and the jasmine tea with cheese froth are my favorite. The Vietnamese coffee is 10/10 as well. Service is super friendly. The place is small and the line can get long, they are working fast and efficiently so don't be discouraged. read more

3.5 Only based on the two drinks I had Strawberry matcha, I asked for extra ice, but I don't think there was any extra ice. My daughter said it was just okay. I ordered the honey lavender and I specifically asked that it not be too sweet, but it was so unfortunately I didn't enjoy it very much. Probably won't be back for these reasons read more

This place is small but mighty!!! The Vietnamese latte is creamy, sweet, and addictive. Staff after always super sweet, and the drinks come out FAST! There is ample parking in the strip mall, and a nearby park that you can walk around while you enjoy your drink! Highly recommend if you are looking for a new coffee addiction!! read more

I've been going to new coffee shops every weekend to try out the matcha and coffee 48 has been on my list forever now. I was actually surprised when I found out where it was because I've been to Junn sushi and it's like right next to it. Anyways, to start off the shop is pretty small inside, so if you plan on coming here to study, read, or even just to relax inside, I wouldn't recommend it. For the drinks though, I definitely would. When we walked inside we were greeted and in front of you will be the menu. We did ask for recommendations because they have so many drinks to choose from. The worker there recommended the regular matcha but we wanted something more than just that, so we ordered her other 2 recommendations. I definitely want to come back and try something other than the matcha. There was a watermelon lime drink that really caught my eye, especially with this Arizona heat. For our drinks we got a blueberry matcha, strawberry matcha, and a coconut drink with like a cheese foam mixed with matcha. I was honestly caught off guard with the coconut water drink. I was expecting a coconut water with a matcha foam, like a sweet creamy foam but it was definitely not that. I'd give that drink a 5/10, it wasn't bad but I feel like that combination doesn't taste as good. The blueberry matcha was amazing, it was our first time trying a blueberry matcha and we loved it so much. The blueberry flavor is so different than anything I've tried and even when you mix the matcha, you can still taste the blueberry. The strawberry matcha was also good but it was on the sweeter side, so if you aren't really someone who loves sweet, I'd ask for less strawberry puree. As you can tell on the picture, the matcha definitely has a beautiful green color to it and you can taste the matcha flavor in the drinks. But overall I really loved the matcha from here and will definitely be back to try out other refreshing drinks they have! read more
I enjoy stopping here whenever I can. Coffee 48 is a takeout only cafe that specializes in Vietnamese coffee, lattes, teas and matcha drinks. The drinks are to-go only because Coffee 48 is a tiny shop with only a couple of chairs to sit on. The Vietnamese Coffee here is really good! I have also tried the Pandan Espresso and loved it. The drink menu is not incredibly large, but they have a nice variety of options for everyone to enjoy. They also have crystal boba as an add-in. I had a hard time finding this place when I first visited. Coffee 48 is in a little plaza area on Broadway and Dorsey in Tempe near Busan Mart. The lobby area can only hold a few people and can be a little tight. In case you didn't figure out the meaning behind their name, Arizona is the 48th state. Hence the name Coffee 48. best vietnamese coffee ever. been here a few times now, and they always make the drinks super fast. it's a to-go kind of place, so there are only seats for two. every drink is about 5.90, which beats most places, but their cups are a little smaller than average. love that they are open until 6pm. read more

I've had the Vietnamese coffee and select Matcha drinks and everything has been amazing. I personally think this is the best coffee shop around Tempe. I may sound like I'm over exaggerating, but the Vietnamese coffee is insane. read more

So I have gone here on two occasions, and the first time I went, I tried there tiramisu latte, and their espresso was really exceptional. They do a great job with that. I am also very particular about my Matcha and found myself feeling disappointed because the photo that they advertise for their Matcha is a much more vibrant, bright green, which would indicate a better quality of Matcha. This was unfortunately not the case when I actually received the product. The Matcha was very mild and its flavor profile would be something I wouldn't go back for, but I would definitely go back for their espresso latte. The location is very tiny and it seems that the manager is usually nearby either sitting and observing the shop or he is behind the register taking orders. I like that they include cold foam on most of their lattes and appreciate that it's not an extra thing that you have to add on. The price point is within range for most other coffee shops. it would be nice if they had some pastries on hand as well. I like that this location is so close to my house and their coffee is a much better taste and quality than some thing that I would get from Starbucks. read more
We finally made it to Coffee 48, and the drinks did not disappoint! This place might be a super tiny shop, so don't plan on studying or hanging out here, but you'll wanna grab these tasty and so pretty drinks to go, whether hot or iced. We tried a bunch of different drinks and I'm still swooning. The fresh Coconut Matcha Cloud was so dreamy and refreshing, the Mulberry Green Tea with cheese foam was so unique and the Vietnamese latte was a little sweet for me but otherwise really good. Seriously, obsessed with this menu! There's so many coffee and tea options that it's hard to know where to even start. But if you're into Matcha, the Blueberry Matcha is a must try. Tiny shop, big flavors! Pleasantly surprised with Coffee 48! Vietnamese coffee shops seem to be popping up left and right but few deliver on true strong flavors. That was not the case with Coffee 48! The Pandan Espresso had an awesome pandan taste, possibly the best I've ever had! Most pandan drink the pandan is an aftertaste. This pandan was present and paired well with the good strong coffee. Not overly sweet either, which is awesome. I was so excited I got the Bangkok latte no ice to drink the following morning and it, too, was excellent. A must visit! read more

I got the following drinks; {Earl Grey Matcha, Matcha Latte, Mulberry Green Tea with Cheese Foam, Orange Lemongrass Peach Tea, Lavender Honey Espresso, Earl Grey Coffee} 1. Earl Grey Matcha: I love the earl grey and matcha balance! Has more of the earthy tea flavor which is really nice! 2. Matcha Latte: Love a good match latte, this version has more of a salty foam (I wonder if it's cheese foam?) I tasted it first without mixing the foam in, but make sure to blend it when you drink it. 3. Mulberry Green Tea with Cheese Foam: This drink feels like a nice digestive type of drink after a full meal? The taste of mulberry reminds me of a mix of blackberry and plum. I would say this is pretty good. 4. Orange Lemongrass Peach Tea: REFRESHING!!! Just super refreshing and so good. 5. Lavender Honey Espresso: OMG! I love my lavender drinks, this one is synchronized a nice blend of Lavender and the espresso flavor is complementing each other so well! 6. Earl Grey Coffee: Strong coffee flavor with the earthy earl grey is sooo good! *my friend got the Hand Smashed Lime Tea, that was also very refreshing and the lime scent and flavor really came out with the added smashing touch! **my other friend got the Young Rice Coconut, I think the green part is pandan flavored and the blue is definitely the butterfly pea tea and the combination is more concentrated at the bottom, so definitely need to mix! I do like the combination but a bit too sweet for my personal preference! Overall the place is so cute and love the girl getting our drink order, she was very sweet!
