Customer service sucks, asked to scan my rewards and she said "you have to do that before you pay" so I asked how come they don't ask and her response "cuz most people don't have the app" like girl please. I asked if I can get a receipt to upload for points and she said "no, we don't do that" If you want people to use the app that should be asked and suggested to help promote. This is bad marketing because they seem to not be able to figure how to promote or ask their customers something THEY OFFER. I didn't even want to use my free drink reward, would just like credit towards my $8 coffee. This location absolutely sucks. The espresso bean is the only reason to even go to this establishment and the ONLY reason they didn't get 1 star. Save yourself the money spent there and go to another coffee shop. The iced shaken butter began taste like just straight up espresso, no flavor, no sweetness. More bitter than me after they wouldn't care to help a customer. Similarly to another reviewer I usually don't leave reviews unless something is extremely off. I got the burrito and it was horrid. It was both so hard I could barely bite in on one side and mush on the other. The inside tasted and looked like slop. I had to throw it away. I also got a cold brew and it tasted chemical. I stopped by this coffee drive-through for the first time because it was on the right side of the street and on the way to where I was going. But I was impressed and will definitely return. One selling point was the lack of a line at the drive-through. This may be because they have two drive-through lanes--one on both sides of the building. The staff was friendly. They offered to answer questions about the drinks and were ultimately happy to make something close to the drink I usually get somewhere else (though the standard offerings looked tempting too). It's bean a long hot summer and I'm always on the lookout for drive thru drink places so on this particular warm day I figured let's get something cool today! I was intrigued by the pumpkin mocha so I tried the medium size, iced. The drinks come with a chocolate covered coffee bean which is a nice little perk from ordering with them. The mocha was good. I could taste both the chocolate and pumpkin spice flavors, with more of the pumpkin spice showing through in the drink. It was cool and refreshing. It hit the spot! So we're about 12months into work from home status and all of the staff at this The Human Bean have made my daily 'coffee walk' a bright spot in what can be a not-so-pleasant morning during the work week. Kenny and his parents have built up a nice crew of employees that I've come to know, especially in the last few months. It's always nice to be asked "how are you?" and "would you like your usual?" -- the answers of which 75% of the time are "I need to wakeup" and YES. :) If I'm not feeling my usual, they're happy to recommend something else low carb and caffinated. Sometimes the lines are long on both sides (I still don't understand when people pile up on one side when it clearly says you can pull around), sometimes they're not busy - it's an hourly/day by day thing. Because of the staff's friendlness and vast number of combinations you can order, on occassion it can take a little longer, but I know they truly care about us! Pro tip -- if you frequent any/all The Human Bean, download the app and add your credit card so you can touchfree pay and load up on rewards. You get $5 for about every $100 you spend. I love this little drive thru coffee shop in Tempe! They have a drive thru window on both sides of the little building so it's pretty convenient & quick to get coffees in the morning. They have huge sizes (think: 32oz cold brew) and they're all pretty delish! I've found that I have to get things half sweet because they're heavy on the sugar, but the prices are so reasonable & the baristas are always super nice. The iced Americano is great! I am always a Black Rock kind of girl , I always get a small oat milk latte, which is exactly what i got today at the human bean. As stated I ordered a small and it was my first time time here so maybe this is just how they do it, but when i went to take my first sip the cup felt very light. i was confused because i knew i did not order a cappuccino. So I take the lid off to see the coffee is only 3/4 full? I worked in coffee for 2.5 years; I know you do not fill hot coffee up to the rim, but there was almost 1/3 missing. I got the 16oz java chip granita with almond milk, no whip. It was tasty, had the right amount of caffeine and sugar to keep me going. Came around 3pm on their grand opening day and I love this place already. Parked and walked up to the window..everyone was so friendly. I asked a man standing outside what he suggested from the menu and he walked my friend and I through some of the different drinks, popular items and what his favorites were. I ended up ordering the Carmel Apple Smoothie and it is delicious! So flavorful and tastes just like the caramel apple suckers you see around Halloween. My friend got the frozen hot chocolate and she really enjoyed it too. I'm not a coffee drinker but was able to find a bunch of things on the menu that would serve as a delicious pick me up on both hot and cooler days. Oh how do I love the Human Bean! Every time I go, I look at the menu and I know I should try something different, but I order the same thing all time, hot or iced it's the same. I go with a salted caramel latte and love it every time!! Also with each other of coffee, its topped off with a chocolate covered coffee bean, so sweet! This place is a definite must try! How have I lived without The Human Bean all these years? First off, there are two drive-thrus (***so no more 15 minute Starbucks lines!!!), and a walk up window as well! The staff was cheerful, patient, and very informative... A granita is basically a blended espresso drink and your choice of flavoring - lots to choose from! I would definitely recommend this drink if it's your first time visiting because the staff mentioned that it's a signature of theirs! This place is a breath of fresh air and not just because you can walk up to the window and order. There are so many different coffee shops it's always a battle where to go. This place has great coffee with so many options. I had the vanilla latte (one of my go to's) and it just tasted better than any place I can think of. The chocolate covered cocoa bean on top was a unique bonus as well. The staff was super nice but not overwhelming like other coffee shops in the area which usually turn me off. With 2 drive thru lanes and a walk up window it doesn't take long to order and receive your drink. This is a great little coffee place that is very convenient and tastes great. Expensive $9 But Delicious Java Chip 32 Ounce Goodness! Friendly Service with a smile at this little island shop off the main drag on University west of the 101 freeway a bit. Delicious treats made by friendly people to make your stomach smile, but somehow it is now $9 for a 32 ounce Java Chip Drink! I feel like this was one of my favorite Coffe shops but now I almost never go here since really $9 is ridiculous for a drink. They charge for extra java chips, coconut milk for this of us who don't consume dairy and somehow its nearly $10 for a drink. I still go to the bean occasionally but now maybe 2 times a month instead of 2-3 times a week. Note to businesses, keeping the costs of a drink that takes less than a dollar down makes people happy to frequent your shop, raising prices loses lots more business. It's a bummer because I liked it here. The menu is HUGE which includes to not all but teas, coffee, smoothies, Rockstars, sodas, etc. If you're picky with flavors like me, they have a long list of flavors for teas, coffee, smoothies, Rockstars and sodas. What made this place a gem for me was the amount of sugar-free flavors they carried, which was more than I expected. BONUS: *They have two drive through lines and a walk up.
