Had this coffee cafe bookmarked for a while... one of my girlfriends sent me a gift card for my birthday to give them a try! The cafe is located in Culdesac Tempe Apartments. It being my first time there, I had a little trouble finding it but love the concept of having all these little shops within walking distance or just downstairs from the apartment complex! I asked what their most popular drinks were at this time and was told the birthday cake latte & a coconut one. I went with the birthday cake with oat milk as it's something I would typically never order, it was good! The inside is super cute and very open, plenty of seating inside and outside available. I went here on valentines day to try their matcha and sit down to get some work done. Matcha turns out to be 9$ and almost 12$ with tip. Matcha isn't as vibrant as you'd expect, and tastes more grassy than real matcha would taste like. Regardless, I sat down only to be reminded to leave in the next 10 mins because they have the place reserved for valentines dinner and laptop workers should leave . I feel they could've communicated better about their plans for the evening to be strictly dinner vibes and no laptop people around. Ambiance is great, service is okay I guess. I was severely disappointed in the price of the drink vs its quality and the fact that I couldn't get work done. Aruma Cafe is located in the Cul-De-Sac Tempe apartments area, which I've been hearing really great things about. It was nice to walk through this area, it was very quiet on Monday morning when I came by. The cafe has lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Inside has lots of pink decor and greenery, shelves with fun Knick knacks, I absolutely loved it! They offer coffee and alcoholic drinks. I decided to try one of their specialty coffee drinks: the Mazapan. It was delicious!!! I would definitely recommend it! This was such a cute cafe in the Tempe area! I worship nearby and wanted to grab a coffee before I went home for the morning. Interestingly, I ran into an old friend which added to how great my experience was (lol!) The service was friendly, but rushed. I knew what I wanted already, which was their Garden Latte. What I was NOT expecting was how expensive their specialty menu would be. $9 for a drink, WOOF! But anything to support our local economy! The interior was DARLING - the pink was so cute! My friend and I sat a the tables with the bar chairs. I swear I'm tall, but I could barely get my bottom the seat! As for my drink, it was nice! I loved how thick the cold foam was on top, and the actual coffee was good. I think next time I will try a cold brew to get a better feel of their caffeine. I was in need of coffee on Thanksgiving day and Aruma Cafe happened to be on my list to try and open that day! There is some street parking but also a lot as well with ample parking. The gals working that day were so cheerful and friendly! I couldn't decide and ordered The Golden Boy and Cajeta both iced with oat milk. I really loved both drinks. I checked out Aruma Cafe recently for a coworking sesh with my intern. It's a super cute spot located in Tempe. It is in the midst of campus, but they do have a parking area, though limited, as well as street parking. I was able to snag a spot, but don't know if I was lucky or its easy to do so! The cafe was happening even in its last hour before close. They have pastries, food as well as feature wine and beer options! The cafe is super lovely, very spacious with ample outdoor seating, indoor seating and a bar area. Service was nice, we just got some coffee. I got one of their specials, I believe an iced golden latte, that had turmeric and honey, it was really well balanced. My colleague got their energy drink beverage with came with sparkling water and they really enjoyed for a more refreshing caffeine fix. It's a convenient location, especially for ASU students, although parking is limited and only a few free street parking spot. However, the coffee shop is easily accessible from the nearby railroad stop. The two doors may be a bit inconspicuous, but I have included a picture to help with locating the establishment. It is situated across from the restaurant Cusina Chiwas. PRICE: The prices at this establishment are relatively higher, possibly due to its prime location. During my visit, I ordered a small Garden latte and a bacon/egg burrito for a total of $16. However, the menu listed the latte for $6, which makes me think the burrito was $8 may have been an additional charge for the burrito.I left a tip in cash. FLAVOR: The bacon/egg breakfast burrito was decent in size, but I felt it was not entirely worth $8. On the positive side, the accompanying red salsa was quite delightful. The chamomile rose latte was enjoyable, but I couldn't help but notice that the rose flavor was not very pronounced. I was hoping for a more prominent floral taste. SERVICE: I found the cashier with tattoos to be friendly and helpful. Additionally, there was another barista preparing drinks, while two others were seated at the end of the register. Unfortunately, there were no clean tables available upon our arrival. AMBIANCE: The coffee shop offers a good number of tables and bar chairs, as well as outdoor seating. I was super impressed by the flavorful drinks, friendly service, and pillowy soft concha during my first visit.
