Seated at the bar with my tapas, a cocktail, and my book for the night
    Sadia K.

Tapas restaurants are my favorite, so on my work trip to Raleigh I was excited to learn about this place right by my hotel. The menu of options wasn't as extensive as I'd hoped for (especially if you're there solo/ are not looking at the shareables) but I found a couple items I really enjoyed-- the albondigas (lamb meatballs) were my favorite. The Sevilla 75 cocktail was suggested for me as I was looking for something gin-based. It was good, but I might try the white Negroni next time. If I lived in the area, I could definitely see myself becoming a regular here. Helpful staff, beautiful interior and welcoming environment, and good food.

Loved this place and the tapas! My fiance loved the empanadas. They seem to be a popular choice as several other people around us had them as well. I enjoyed the patatas bravas, there was a good balance between the potatoes and the sauce. Also the potato were perfectly crispy. I also enjoyed the salad! We're excited to make this one of our go to places in Raleigh!

Food Service Ambiance Drinks All 100% SPECTACULAR. I love tapas. I love good food I love good tapas food. I love good drinks made with imagination and top shelf or equivalent alcohol. Big calories who cares, Make the sin worth it. Hit me with lighting, vibe and happy staff...oh yes...La Ramblas has that in spades. Let me pretend I am in Barcelona and give me La Patatas Bravas and some Iberico ham...I'll close my eyes and dream of Spain. You get that legit feeling when you breeze past the bull outside through the colorfully painted blue tiled entrance. And the feeling is further confirmed by the menu...authentic...and the taste of each item shows they know what they are doing in terms of presenting the balance of flavors for each dish.

My mom and I stopped by yesterday for a drink and I'm so glad that we did. We sat at the bar which was super cute and the bartender was very friendly. We wanted to grab a bite to eat before dinner time so the small plates were perfect for us. We both ordered white sangria and it was delicious. All of the small plates sounded amazing so it was hard to decide which two we would settle on. We chose the brussel sprouts and the patatas bravas and both were fabulous! Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely come back the next time I'm in Raleigh!

AMAZING!!! So excited for this attention to North Hills. I always felt like Raleigh needed a stronger tapas game and Las Ramblas brings it. From the service (Matthew was great and even the manager came by to check in on us), to the decor, this restaurant is really spot on. Our server walked us through the menu and suggest 2-3 plates per person. We started off with the beef carpaccio. I'm not a super big pate person, but besides that the dish was excellent. My husbands favorite dish was the chorizo with bread crumbs. Mine was the beef cheeks- the meat was so tender and flavorful and I loved the accompanying sauce. The red snapper did not disappoint either. The cocktail menu was also interesting and we both enjoyed our drinks. Even the water felt fancy here! The only thing I was looking for, was a more interesting dessert menu. The options were not that intriguing. Overall wonderful food, wonderful service, in a beautiful setting. We will be back!

Craving Spanish food ( and I was) you need to come to Las Ramblas. It is lively, vibrant and reminds me that f my time in Madrid. The food is good. Best dish: the fork tender pork cheeks on a bed of mashed potatoes and raw cauliflower slices, the perfect crunch. You'll love the chorizo &chicken empanadas-new to the menu. Flakey crust and lush insides (not too spicy, no worries). I love grilled artichokes and these feature fava beans. Yum. Sadly, the octopus disappointed. But hey, not everything is gonna be perfect the first month. The shop is so cute. You'll love it I did.

An outstanding meal at this new tapas spot in North Hills. It's an rectangular room on the corner ground floor of a residential building in North Hills. The bar area features a high tops, bar seating and tables. Plus 2 other sections of tables including an enclosed patio area, which will be fantastic once the warmer weather comes. The open prep kitchen is decorated in colorful Mexican tile. Giant weaved light fixtures with cool Edison bulbs add just the right light. It's a wonderful vibe, even when busy. And this place is hopping! We grabbed early reservations and within an hour every table was full. Pro tip: Make a reservation! Our server, James, did a great job. He helped with recommendations, our orders were accurate and he paced the meal well. Shout out to the manager who was overseeing the service (restaurant hasn't been open very long) to ensure that the wine was served correctly and that glasses were full. THANK YOU! We started with octopus and jamon. The octopus is sauteed with chickpeas and peppers to create an aromatic and hearty sauce. Octopus is tender, not chewy and perfectly accented by the sauce, served over a bed of mashed potatoes. Yum! The shaved jamon iberico is very thin slices of house-cured ham. We know it's house cured because there were several pork loins hanging from hooks in the wine cellar. The meat is salty and a little chewy; as you would have on a charcuterie board. Very good. We went on to the suckling pig. A hunk of crunchy, smoked pig skin is served atop perfectly cooked pork which is fork-tender and shreds as it's cut. It's served with dollops of garlicky green sauce. The crunchy skin and the sauce really highlights the the savory pork. Excellent. Gambas a Ajillo (garlic shrimp) was next. Giant prawns are sauteed in sherry vinegar garlicky buttery sauce. The heads of prawns are removed in the kitchen, but then decoratively replaced on the prawns for service. The whole thing is topped scallions and a few fiery red peppers. When we asked, we got a plate of bread to dip the sauce. This was my favorite dish of the night. We also tried grilled steak. An extremely tender cut of teres major is grilled to medium rare perfection in the kitchen. It's served atop a shallow grill bowl filled with hot charcoal and aromatic wood, still smoking. The presentation is fantastic, and the meat is outstanding. Fork tender, juicy and flavorful with a hint of smoke from the charcoal. After all of that there was STILL room for dessert. We tried the churros; freshly prepared versions of the classic, adorned with cinnamon and sugar and with a cup of dark chocolate sauce for dipping. Also tried chocolate mousse. A scoop of fluffy light mousse, adorned with slivered almonds, shavings of white chocolate and pomegranate. A beautiful creamy texture offset by the crunch of the almonds and the slightly sour pomegranate. Perfect end to an excellent meal. Check this place out - you won't be disappointed. And bring your appetite!

Very nice cool place that I took my wife to for dinner while visiting the Raleigh area. The ambiance of the place was very welcoming/romantic in a way. We had to wait almost an hour to get a table but with technology they were just able to text me our table was ready while we were across the street grabbing a drink at a bar. The waitress was very nice and attentive to us and everything came out in a quick time. All of the food and I mean all the food we ordered was Delicious! And it was great since it's tapas everything comes in smaller portions so you are able to order more stuff to try! The drinks were also tasty! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would come back if I'm ever in the Raleigh area again!

Las Ramblas is an intimate tapas restaurant nestled in North Hills Raleigh. The ambiance is super cute and low lit with Spanish tile decor and is totally great for a date night. In Spanish, the name means "the boulevards." If you've never had tapas before, it's basically a bunch of small plates/appetizers for sharing. Below is a breakdown of what we shared as a group of four ladies: - Calamari (reminded me of Cheesecake Factory's calamari, but with a green chimichurri like sauce for dipping) - Patatas bravas (delicious potato dish and the white and orange sauces in the dish were a great compliment) - Octopus (grilled to perfection with a nice smokey taste) - Burrata (who doesn't move burrata?! So creamy w/ lots of textures from fig and pomegranate) - Chorizo (spicy little sausages with sauce and bread crumbs/croutons on top) - Churros (lightly fried and had hints of citrus in dough or chocolate sauce) Overall I would come here again. I liked that we were able to split the check 4 ways and charge each persons drinks individually. My one star dock was for the bathroom being a little unkept and for not having any service (water refills) after we paid our bill. Lastly, I came here with a couple of girlfriends on a Tuesday evening at 8pm with a reservation. It was pretty busy, so I would highly recommend making reservations via Open Table if you are planning a group for 2+ people.

The lady and I really wanted some variety - you know, small plates. After looking around, we found Las Ramblas and boy am I glad we did. North Hills has its own charm by itself. Already imbued with that, we walk in through the Arabesquely-tiled entry way and step through to see a scene that is both inviting and has an air of cool. The two young people at the front greet us and seat us. And then we meet our guide through this journey, Cooper. And let me tell you, Cooper is an excellent guide. Considering Barcelona herself, major metropolitan cities and Mario in Durham, these were some of the best tapas I've had. The flavors are dialed in and full. With Cooper's help, we landed on these: Pan con Tomate, Ibérico Shaved Jamón, Ensalada Verde, Rainbow Carrots, Pork Belly, Albóndigas, Fried Monkfish, Octopus and Flan for dessert. Paired with More Amor, Alhambra, a glass of Rioja, and an espresso martini. A lot right? We were celebrating. We liked everything we had. Pan con Tomate surprised me with how good it was. Fried Monkish was my favorite followed by the Albóndigas (that lamb was divine). Overall, it was a spiritual experience, not a meal. Cooper, let me tell the people about you. You are kind and helpful, down to Earth and easy to talk to. You know the menu well and give good recommendations. And thank you so much for your gift of chocolate cake to us! You really made the experience that much more pleasant. Friends, let me suggest Las Ramblas to you. It is as lovely and lively as the street it's named for.

Third time is the charm for Giorgios Hospitality Group in North Hills, NC. First, the meal was *everything* at Las Ramblas; the meal was: adventuresome, flavorful, and well executed. They offer a medium-sized tapas menu with some 'standards' as well as items one might not have seen elsewhere. Taking chances is rewarded here & I recommend your table does. The service was fast, casual, & friendly. The atmosphere is as-expected: very casual, no tablecloths here. One drawback: I do think charging extra for bread with main dishes that clearly warrant bread is poor form. Really? Anyway, worth a try if tapas are your thing.

Y'all go here!! It is divine! We love Spanish Tapas and have looked all over and have finally found it. Not only was the food amazing but the service and drinks were also fabulous! We were there and on a weekday and made a reservation but maybe didn't need it. Hope it gets busier because honestly they should be charging twice the amount for the food! We enjoyed a smoked old fashioned and a beautiful lavender lemonade vodka drink with a fresh flower. The special of the night was a pork shank with buttery couscous and peas that blew our minds! Many thanks to Kayla and Ronalynn for making us feel at home and checking on us! Oh and the Tres Leches cake were so good with a roasted marshmallow icing and espresso, wow!! We'll be back often.

Tapas tapas and more tapas! One better than the other. We did run into a huge problem though,…read moreexplained in more detail below. Wife and I started our quick little anniversary getaway here, and they nailed it. The place itself is gorgeous. Huge patio with greenery, baller bar area in the middle of the upscale open space, which gives a modern and chic vibe. That problem I mentioned? Deciding what we were going to order off of the amazingly stacked tapas menu. One sounded better than the other, plates coming out to the left and right of us...we were deer in headlights not knowing what to do, words didn't come out when our friendly and knowledgeable server came by. As far as problems go at a restaurant, I guess it could have been worse. With helpful guidance and knowing our love for anything foodie related, we just started picking one by one after a few sips of our well balanced cocktails (another large menu with anything and everything for fellow cocktail lovers out there). Had to go with a meat and charcuterie board first. A decadent manchego, a creamy French that was smooth and tangy, plus a 20 month cured ham that was salty and smoky. Honestly everything that came out after was a 10/10. From the wild mushrooms, Wagyu carpaccio and bone marrow, to the pork belly, corn bunuelos and steak paillard...everything was cooked to perfection with amazing spices and sauces that complemented each dish perfectly. (See pics and captions for more details) These chefs and mixologists know what they're doing here. 2 managers came by our table to make sure everything was going well. Top notch service, top shelf food and drink, modern and upscale decor and vibe. A perfect concoction for a special night out with family or friends.

The ambiance is dark and nice for couples or friends. The booths at the bar are not the most comfortable, so I prefer a table. The tapas are those you find at a traditional Spanish tapas place. The papas being amongst the most popular are a good staple. The charcuterie is also very nice. The other tapas can be hit or miss depending on what is seasonally offered. On this visit, I wanted Brussels sprouts but they were no longer on the menu and the lamb was not a bone in lamb but rather ground meatballs. Not bad, just not what I expected. It's not a place I seek out to come, but it's solid food and drinks that fills a need when I want a late bite.

We dined at their lovely bar back in the first months of their opening, and it was good. We had met the general manager, Red, and were impressed with the flavors of our one appetizer, Calabrian Chicken, yet we never rushed back. Now, we feel compelled to return ASAP to enjoy these exceptional flavors, fabulous teamwork system of service, and a comfortable chic atmosphere. The place was happening at 5:45 pm on our recent dining night out with friends. Grateful to have a reservation we were seated at a very comfortable banquette type of seating. It felt like dining in a friend's home. Our server, William, is excellent at his job. Very efficient, great input on food choices, and quite personable. The meal started off with a burst of flavor as we enjoyed their fairly new offering of a ceviche called Eye of the Tiger that featured a sauce you can never get enough of. Wish their bread service was a bit more inspired, but the Le Farm bread did soak up some of the various sauces sent out from a very inspired kitchen team. Food runners help make certain the tapas come out fresh and hot when needed. They are a friendly group of hospitality workers who seem to genuinely enjoy their work and treat their guests with sincere appreciation. It all starts at the top, and GM Red is a personable and sound leader. We loved the Chef's pasta, our octopus dish was stellar, the Calabrian Chicken almost stole the show, but the unctuous flavors on the plate of the Seared Halloumi was hands down my favorite. I love how this culinary team can crank out such outstanding flavors table to table and patron to patron without missing a beat. The energy in the room must feed their souls & for that we are grateful. Lastly I wish to mention the thoughtfully curated wine list where my husband discovered a treasure of a wine from the Familia Torres brand. It was exquisite and paired perfectly with Madre's flavors. The Radiatore small pasta was delicious and satisfying while just the right size for lunch, adding chicken for a protein boost. My friend enjoyed the Chicken Parm Sando and Kardashian Chopped Salad. Good service in a surprisingly well decorated atmosphere, I would come back to Flour & Barrel for more Italian goodness! The Deets: I wanted to catch up with a friend over a weekday lunch and we scoped out Flour & Barrel in DTR to do just that. When entering in from the pretty nondescript exterior/entrance on the corner of North and Harrington Streets, it becomes a colorful well decorated bistro/bar type feeling inside which is welcoming. We were shown to our table next to one of the wide windows facing North St, I liked this table with lots of natural light and yes, I am a people watcher as well. The server took our drink orders and asked if we had any questions about the menu. The lunch menu is pretty succinct but well represented, offering focaccia sandwiches (sandos), small pastas (pasta handmade in-house), and salads. It also has a wine and craft beer selection also if needed. My friend went with the Chicken Parmesan Focaccia Sando (has pomodoro, mozzarella, and basil) with Kardashian Chopped Salad (made with romaine, salami, provolone, piquillo peppers, artichoke, and garbanzo) for a side while I chose the Radiatore small pasta selection. The Radiatore is described on the menu as "our version of carbonara but creamier / guanciale / egg" so naturally it caught my eye. I am usually pretty cut and dry about wanting carbonara to be the traditional type but since they stated upfront that this is their version, I was willing to give it a go. I am glad I did, as this pasta dish was great. The serving was the perfect size for lunch, plus I was able to add chicken to it as well. The sauce was creamy and delicious, going well with the al dente pasta. This meal was most satisfying and I would love to get this one again in the future. My friend really enjoyed the sando so much, he had originally planned to eat half and take the other half home...that didn't work out the way he planned as he devoured the whole sandwich there, it was that good. He also enjoyed the salad as well. Our server did well checking on us and making sure we had what we needed.
