What we ate (best to worst; descriptions from menu - https://corakitchenbar.com/menu):
* Brussels Sprouts - Crispy sprouts in chipotle lime butter
* Albóndigas - Beef/pork meatballs, chipotle sauce
* Calamari - Fried calamari, piquin chile butter, basil
* Charcuterie - Spanish chorizo, olive-oil anchovies, apricot preserves, manchego, oven-roasted tomatoes, marinated olives, crispy bread
First Impressions:
Warm lighting on a comfortable fall evening lured us into Cora. They really cleaned up the place and it felt inviting.
The Food
Portions: average.
* Brussels Sprouts - cooked well with a creamy and sweet flavor.
* Albóndigas - well constructed meatballs in an Italian tomato sauce. What?!
* Calamari - the most average calamari of which you could think. Not overcooked but not a stunner. Needs a larger portion, more lime
* Charcuterie - Good olives, Six slices of the thinnest salami you could think of, still stuck together from when they were freed from their packaging. No anchovies. Preserves, seemingly, straight out of a jar, that were not from an apricot.
The service:
Fine, but just fine. Not rude, but not friendly. A little dose of apathy and a lack of attention to... Detail: when the runners brought the food to our 4 top (with 2 people) they continued to plant the food on the busiest side of the table, rather than take the additional smidgeon of effort to put it on the side of the table where there was space!
Would I come back:
