Went here for dinner went for some dinner got a burrito and birria tacos. I thought the birria tacos were good but coseme dipping sauce tasted kind of thin not as rich. The tacos had a nice crunch and the beef was super tender and had a good amount of spice. It came with some Spanish rice and it was unfortunately kind of bland tasting. The burrito was al pastor it was good it had great flavor. The pineapple in it is very good balanced with the savoriness of the beef. We also got guacamole and chips. You get a lot of chips and a good amount of guacamole. Flavorful and fresh chips were nice accompaniment. Service was very friendly and nice. Mexican is my all time favorite type of food! My husband originally looked at Lobera's menu and noticed the margarita flight! Once we saw the margarita menu (um, yes please), we each ipted for our own regular size margarita, a.k.a. the fishbowl. Presentation was beautiful and came with a cute little rubber ducky that we took home. We got the chorizo OK so which was so smooth and creamy and not spicy at all. my husband ordered the two burrito plate and I got the shrimp over rice with queso which is now my new favorite dish! All the staff were super friendly and very accommodating. We had a great time and definitely will be back. Dessert will probably be on the menu for next time. read more

It's been a long time since we've used this word: obsessed. The staff is SO nice and attentive (we loved Sherlin). The tacos were fresh and delicious, the chicken melt beautifully flavorful (expectedly crunchy toast in a good way), I could do a Ted Talk on how good the birria egg rolls are (juicy, flavorful, but not overpowering). Salsa is the individual cantina style. The hibiscus cocktail I got with vodka and 10/10. Rave reviews from the tablemates for the pineapple mango marg. Cannot wait to come back!! On Saturday at 1pm were able to order from the Lunch, Brunch, or full regular menu. Lots of comfy booths, sports TVs (including split screens), and high or low top table options. I was disappointed with my experience at Lobera. The customer service wasn't what I expected, especially from the manager. During my visit, she seemed more focused on her phone than helping customers, which came across as unprofessional. When I tried to ask a question, her response felt dismissive and rude, making me feel unwelcome. That said, I want to recognize the rest of the staff, who were excellent. They were friendly, attentive, and did their best to provide great service despite the situation. I hope management takes customer service more seriously in the future because the overall experience left a negative impression. read more

Lobera came highly recommended by our CC company, so we made a reservation for Sunday night. We likely didn't need one as it was pretty dead when we got there, but it never hurts. We enjoyed the typical Mexican restaurant chips and salsa to start. My boyfriend had a chicken, cheese, and rice dish. I had the chicken fajitas. Both were delicious, but slightly less flavorful than some of our other meals in Raleigh. The service was great, maybe too great. Our only complaint is that the food came a little too fast. We had hardly started enjoying the chips and salsa when our meal came, 3-4 minutes after we ordered. read more

I will dream about the cilantro salad with chicken for a LONG TIME! I was staying at the aloft hotel right above and got in late my first night. Ordered online via uber and it was ready so fast. Service was pleasant and polite. But DAMN the cilantro salad knocked my socks off. LOADED with flavor and crispy bits and so much chicken and vegetables... I could barely find the lettuce haha. Also pleasantly surprised it came with a big bag of chips with salsa too. Was craving some Mexican and wanted to try something new. This restaurant is right in front of NC State off of Hillsborough Street. The service was quick, as soon as we went to order our second round of free chips and salsa, our main dishes came out. I ordered the chicken and steak fajitas, the seasoning was very light, definitely more of a natural char from the cast iron. I really appreciated that the meat was cut thin, it made it so much easier to eat when making my fajitas tacos. I opted for the street corn instead of the rice and beans. If you're looking for a nice dinner not far from NC State central campus, look no further! Lobera is right on Hillsborough street and is definitely one of the nicer spots. My boyfriend and I were there this past weekend to meet up with his best friend from college and his girlfriend. The tables are decently spaced so we could chat without having to yell over people. Lobera does give you complimentary chips and salsa while you wait for your meal. The margarita is also very good but I'd recommend on the rocks over frozen if you're driving home - the frozen option is about 16oz. I had the mole enchiladas with chicken which are pretty hard to mess up, but still delicious. All in all, a very nice meal with friends! read more

I was visiting a friend in the NC State area, and we went to lunch at Lobera. They had a very nice lunch specials menu - with savings of several $ over the regular menu price for the same item. The taco salad and Big Wolf burrito were our choices and they were both delicious. I like that they serve chips and salsa and everyone gets their own salsa dish - prevents double dipping worries! My husband and I dined in at Lobera for dinner and were not very impressed. I ordered the Signature Lobera margarita and my husband had a mojito. The margarita was not the best but the mojito was delicious so I ordered one of those next. We started off with the queso to enjoy with the chips and salsa then it was the enchiladas de mole with an order of the mexican street corn for me and the vegan burrito for my husband. Cute spot right on Hillsborough street playing music onto the street. We walked in around 6:15 pm and were seated immediately. They brought us water and chips and salsa, each with our own salsa dish! House margaritas were only $5 on Mondays! Husband and I both ordered one and they were average. Ordered birria egg rolls for appetizers. Husband and son loved them. I love the location and openness of the resteraunt and their desserts were fantastic (we got chocolate ball one). The staff while slim helped each other out and was very pleasant. But I was disappointed in their rice. I got the AC with steak, chicken, and shrimp and with a dish like they its dependent on great rice and I was not impressed. I tried the lime and cilantro rice which I enjoyed, and my son loved his tacos, they even cooked his onions, when he said he wasn't a raw onion fan. My new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Raleigh/Durham area! Since moving from CA, I've been overall disappointed with the Mexican food here, but Lobera is the real deal. Came here for lunch with my spouse recently and really loved the space and the food. Our server was really helpful in answering some of our questions and gave recommendations. Their complimentary salsa and chips are some of the best that I've had anywhere. We ordered the Baja Shrimp & Pork Belly Tacos and couldn't be happier. Perfectly battered and cooked shrimp, succulent pork, and both tacos had the perfect toppings. At the end of the meal, we were so surprised to have spent less than $40 for a lot of food (6 tacos & 2 sides). Will definitely be coming back soon for dinner to try other tacos & some of their delicious looking cocktails! read more

Stopped for a late lunch at this "hot and new" Mexican and had the Mar & Tierra tacos with Steak, shrimp, and guacamole on a cheesy tortilla. This is a very impressive quality dish served with three heaping tacos and I had the cilantro rice as a side-also very tasty. Everything came out great, very well presented and hot. The flavors with the main ingredients worked. Try it! Service was spot on, Minerva was very attentive and helpful with my questions. Location is next to the Aloft across from NC State State Bell Tower and shares parking with the hotel which can be tricky but worth it.
