Chicken Chimichangas with rice and a Guacamole Dip
Octavia S.

Me and my s/o went today for the first time, and it was great! I had the Texas ACP and added grilled onions and peppers because it didn't come with it, and he had the chicken Chimichangas. I ordered some guacamole and it was delicious on my ACP! I will be going back

We came in around 9 on a Friday night and were seated right away. The margaritas were absolutely delicious (mango dragonfruit and raspberry) and only $7! The Mexican street corn, birria tacos, and ACP were . The service was attentive and polite. The atmosphere was bright and fun. Would come again!

Went here for dinner went for some dinner got a burrito and birria tacos. I thought the birria tacos were good but coseme dipping sauce tasted kind of thin not as rich. The tacos had a nice crunch and the beef was super tender and had a good amount of spice. It came with some Spanish rice and it was unfortunately kind of bland tasting. The burrito was al pastor it was good it had great flavor. The pineapple in it is very good balanced with the savoriness of the beef. We also got guacamole and chips. You get a lot of chips and a good amount of guacamole. Flavorful and fresh chips were nice accompaniment. Service was very friendly and nice. The restaurant looked very nice and had a good amount of seats.

Mexican is my all time favorite type of food! My husband originally looked at Lobera's menu and noticed the margarita flight! Once we saw the margarita menu (um, yes please), we each ipted for our own regular size margarita, a.k.a. the fishbowl. Presentation was beautiful and came with a cute little rubber ducky that we took home. We got the chorizo OK so which was so smooth and creamy and not spicy at all. my husband ordered the two burrito plate and I got the shrimp over rice with queso which is now my new favorite dish! All the staff were super friendly and very accommodating. We had a great time and definitely will be back. Dessert will probably be on the menu for next time.

Chipotle Chicken Melt from Brunch Menu

It's been a long time since we've used this word: obsessed. The staff is SO nice and attentive (we loved Sherlin). The tacos were fresh and delicious, the chicken melt beautifully flavorful (expectedly crunchy toast in a good way), I could do a Ted Talk on how good the birria egg rolls are (juicy, flavorful, but not overpowering). Salsa is the individual cantina style. The hibiscus cocktail I got with vodka and 10/10. Rave reviews from the tablemates for the pineapple mango marg. Cannot wait to come back!! On Saturday at 1pm were able to order from the Lunch, Brunch, or full regular menu. Lots of comfy booths, sports TVs (including split screens), and high or low top table options. Easy street parking!

Tacos de pollo (grilled chicken)

5 stars! Service was amazing, we got sat immediately by a very friendly host. The server and manager were also very friendly! The food was excellent and fast, I got the pollo tacos, and they were AMAZING! The decorations and cleanliness are also excellent, definitely recommend!

Lobera came highly recommended by our CC company, so we made a reservation for Sunday night. We likely didn't need one as it was pretty dead when we got there, but it never hurts. We enjoyed the typical Mexican restaurant chips and salsa to start. My boyfriend had a chicken, cheese, and rice dish. I had the chicken fajitas. Both were delicious, but slightly less flavorful than some of our other meals in Raleigh. The service was great, maybe too great. Our only complaint is that the food came a little too fast. We had hardly started enjoying the chips and salsa when our meal came, 3-4 minutes after we ordered.

Green Cilantro Salad Dinner with chicken

I will dream about the cilantro salad with chicken for a LONG TIME! I was staying at the aloft hotel right above and got in late my first night. Ordered online via uber and it was ready so fast. Service was pleasant and polite. But DAMN the cilantro salad knocked my socks off. LOADED with flavor and crispy bits and so much chicken and vegetables... I could barely find the lettuce haha. Also pleasantly surprised it came with a big bag of chips with salsa too. Also ordered tres leche cake, pretty good (I'm bias bc my BFs mom makes a damn good one), very rich sweet treat to end the night! 10/10 recommend!

Was craving some Mexican and wanted to try something new. This restaurant is right in front of NC State off of Hillsborough Street. The service was quick, as soon as we went to order our second round of free chips and salsa, our main dishes came out. I ordered the chicken and steak fajitas, the seasoning was very light, definitely more of a natural char from the cast iron. I really appreciated that the meat was cut thin, it made it so much easier to eat when making my fajitas tacos. I opted for the street corn instead of the rice and beans. I enjoyed it, just know it's heavy on the lemon. My happy food dance was matched by the old school salsa playing, it made the ambiance feel more authentic!

Excellent experience at Lobera. Stopped by for dinner and got the tres compadres. Taste and portion was super on point. Great service as well. Right around the corner from aloft hotel.

Amazing lunch at this New Mexican restaurant next to NC State Campus. Server was very attentive and our meal was delicious. These are lunch specials for $9.99 and they come with your tea or soft drink. Of course chips and salsa as well!

Pineapple mojito
Markiesa B.

First time visiting this place and I went on Sunday, their drink specials are $6 mojitos all flavors. I got two, a pineapple one and mango one . Too much mint in the drinks and a bit on the sweet side, but they were ok. I also got the birria egg rolls which had beef, cheese and cilantro in it. It came with like 8 pieces and was filling. I'll try this place out again and try some different foods and drinks.

The staff who greeted us was extremely friendly and accommodating. We were sat with the stipulation that there was a reservation behind us in an hour and a half which was very doable for us. I do not partake in alcohol so I was appreciative of the zero proof menu options. I ordered the Jesse and it was sweet but sour, it balanced itself very well. My fiance loved his old fashioned with an orange and fig bourbon. Our waiter was direct and down to business, likely because they were busy, but a great waiter none the less. The food was excellent! Elevated American bar food that was cooked to perfection and had some nice fusion flavors: sesame tuna with edamame, goat cheese, walnuts and a special kind of beet that made my salad fresh and earthy. Truffle and onions with smashed burger dipped in bubbly cheese is a comfort food dream. Same with the Mac n cheese with bacon, really tickles the indulgence fancy! I do recommend this place, especially if you have friends who love bourbon or other kinds of whiskey!

It was very tart like cranberry and not very strong. I also ordered the grilled chicken sliders no mayo or tomato. It came with two. They were tasty. Slightly overcooked, but the cheese helped enough. I also had to order fries on the slide, which was slightly disappointing because the two sliders are already $15 and fries $8.50, even though I didn't order the side sauces that come with it. It felt $2 overpriced in both instances. I don't know if I'd get again, but the fries were seasoned well. My fiancé ordered the braised pork shoulder. The meat was tender and had a decent flavor. The mac and cheese was okay, nothing special. Overall, the dish was drowned in too much barbecue sauce to the point he felt he was eating more sauce than the entree. He subbed sprouts with fries, which were tasty. He wouldn't order again. It was a big portion though. Service was good. Music was okay, a bit random, but still fun.

The staff is consistently polite and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere makes for a solid night out. The only notable drawbacks are the lack of a food menu, not even offering small bites, and a noticeable smoke odor inside that might bother non-smokers. We came when the restaurant opened during the week so we were seated right away and it wasn't crowded. There are several tables and spaces to sit inside of the restaurant. Our server, Ariel, was friendly & very attentive during our visit. The manager, Ravi, was also great. We both got a steak and I got the Mac & cheese for my side. The Mac & cheese was very cheesy as it contained multiple cheeses. We enjoyed it. My steak was also prepared well and was tender. The fries were served hot. We started with the mussels cooked with chorizo sausage. They had good flavor, although I personally would have preferred the mussels without the sausage flavor. For our entrée, we had the Steak & Fries. The fries were cooked perfectly and had great flavor, especially with the cheese. We also ordered a side of Mac & Cheese, which is made with baked shell pasta, rich, cheesy, and really good. The restaurant itself is fairly small and intimate, with the full bar and open kitchen all in the same room as the dining tables. I really liked the warm, lively atmosphere, although it can feel a little crowded when they're busy. Overall, good food, a cozy atmosphere, and a fun dinner spot in Raleigh. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation before coming, especially for dinner.
