Came here for a quick bite while we waited for our appointment and MAN!!! wow Great service, Christian attended us and very knowledgeable. HUGE menu we went with the Premium tacos they come with flour tortillas but we substituted with corn! (Try it) skirt steak and all the goodness you can imagine, comes with rice and black beans! We sat outside as I was working but inside dining is a must!! Mezcalito Raleigh delivered a fantastic lunch experience from start to finish. Melissa was our waitress, and she was attentive, friendly, and checked in on us often--excellent service without being intrusive. We ordered the chicken soup, Mezcalita Enchiladas, Pastor Quesa, grilled shrimp, and spicy steak tacos. Everything was flavorful, well prepared, and clearly made with care. The menu is especially impressive: it feels inspired, offers plenty of appealing choices, and gives us many reasons to return and try more. The atmosphere is welcoming and festive, and the bar is absolutely stunning--the shelving rises up the wall and continues across the ceiling, making it a real centerpiece of the restaurant. I also noticed the manager proactively walking the floor, checking on guests and handling details. That kind of visible attention explains why this restaurant feels so well run. My only minor note is that the music was a little loud for lunch. It was great music and certainly fits the lively setting; I imagine the volume is ideal for the dinner crowd. Overall, though, Mezcalito is an outstanding addition to Raleigh's Mexican dining scene, and we are already looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes. read more

This is the most beautiful Mexican restaurant I've ever been today. And their wall of liquors of mesmerizing. Very quickly brought out fresh hot chips and salsa, the chips were salty and flavorful. Best chips I've had. Went with one of the Mangoberry margarita, for $30 it was really a one and done. Although, it's not mentioned the menu you can mix and match the tacos, which I did. I got the shrimp and chorizo, grilled steak and al pastor. They were all amazing but the shrimp and chorizo was the best! Very attentive service, the food took a little bit longer but it came out very fresh! read more

This was my first time trying this Mexican restaurant and it was a great choice. The service, ambiance, food and cleanliness are top notch. It's just down the street from me in a newly developed area of North Hills on St. Albans. The fajitas were tasty and hot. My partner had the Chimichangas and she loved them as well. Portions are big and the fried ice cream was a great way to end the meal. Will return soon! read more

I almost ate my food again without taking a picture or giving a review. I lived in Cali for 30 years, so I believe I know good Mexican food when I eat it. Since I have moved back to the east coast (North Carolina) this restaurant has the best food, ambience, friendliness and drinks. I absolutely recommend eating here if you are visiting, passing through or live here. Drop in have a margarita or a list of delicious appetizers and main dishes to choose from. It is one of my favorite places to eat! I love the staff and they always make me feel welcome. read more

Mezcalito has their newest location in Raleigh now. They do not do reservations so go early or be prepared to wait. My friends and I sat outside, do not get placed at the table right outside or the door may hit you multiple times. We started off with tequila shots and drinks, it was the texana margarita for me and a mojito for my husband. For food we split the enchiladas mezcalito and vegetarian tacos. The service and drinks were both good; however, the food was just okay. read more

Had a wonderful dinner with a friend at Mezcalito! We came on a thursday night without a resection and was seated immediately. The inside was absolutely gorgeous and loved the vibe of the whole restaurant. started with complimentary chips & salsa and we ordered a side of queso to start. They had a huge drink menu with so many selections. I ordered the quesa birria which i enjoyed and the consome was flavorful and had lots of pieces of pork in it. Our favorite part of the dinner was the tres leches cake! It was massive and was perfectly sweet. Their desserts were $8.99 and they had so many great options that it was hard to choose which dessert we wanted! also, our waiter was attentive and checked in often. Decor and space is just stunning, the architecture, the plants, really just well done. The service and cocktails were great and then the food came and my order was wrong and I got glutened. This was my first time visiting Mezcalito. The decor is beautiful, and the food and drinks were exceptional, but unfortunately the overall service experience was very disappointing. The restaurant is very large, and it seemed like they were struggling to manage it efficiently. We waited about 45 minutes for a table, and once seated, it took another 15 minutes just to order water. Our waitress rarely checked on us, and the service throughout the night was extremely poor. After finally placing our order, we waited nearly another hour for our food. We also ordered queso, which we had to remind the server about after waiting an additional 15 minutes. I ordered a margarita and was never asked what size I wanted, so I naturally assumed I would receive the standard/small size. Instead, I was given the giant 40 oz version, which cost around $30. It felt very misleading to automatically serve the largest size without confirming with the customer first. I asked to speak with the manager because, while we understood the restaurant was busy, we watched several tables who arrived after us receive their food well before we did. Unfortunately, the manager was unprofessional and unapologetic, offering excuses rather than addressing the concerns. Good customer service and communication go a long way, especially when guests are already frustrated. It's disappointing because the food and drinks were genuinely delicious, and the atmosphere is beautiful. I just wish the service experience had matched the quality of the restaurant, since service is a major reason people choose to dine out. read more

Being from Texas, I am always on the look out for great Tex Mex. Mezcalito hit the mark!! They have been open now for a couple of months but I just learned of it this week. They are located off of Social in the new up-and-coming area of Midtown. The lunch fajitas were outstanding. I can't wait to come back for dinner for one of the incredible looking cocktails. I went with friends on a Saturday night and it was BUSY! The wait time for a table was about 10 minutes, which was great. Definitely loud inside but we loved it. The food tasted so good. I got a shrimp ACP and the portion size was enough for me to take some home. The drinks were amazing. I got a nonalcoholic strawberry lemonade that was perfect. My friends got good-sized alcoholic drinks and loved them! Will definitely be returning when I'm in the area. read more

the service was so bad the server barely checked on us and we had to hunt down another server just to get service from him after our food came out. I ordered the lime ceviche which tasted nothing of lime so i decided to just get extra limes. Can't do that if the server takes 30 mins to even ask if the food is okay and probably would've never asked unless we got another server. I decided to just have it taken off my bill. The server nor the manager acknowledges us or apologizes. They also never offered to get me anything else so I ended up leaving tipsy and hungry. This is also too loud of a restaurant for the amount of people that are in there. There definitely needs to be a team huddle on how to provide good customer service. This place is good for mediocre drinks and thats it. I got a way better experience at Bad Daddy's Burger Bar for Half the price and way better drinks. read more

Been here several times now. The food was excellent as was the service. Rachael was great & very attentive, 5 stars!. Music was too loud however, need to tone it down, younger crowd may like it but most of the customers were middle age & up.. Decor was impressive & management always comes up and greets me. GO ELSEWHERE For Mexican, especially if you want atmosphere! While waiting for a table we had salsa splashed all over us. I had to go to the restroom to wash it off my leg and out of shorts. My shorts were then all wet. When we were seated at the table we told a manager what happened and I showed him my wet shorts. all he did was bring some napkins. no apology or anything! The music was so loud that I couldn't have a conversation with anyone at my table. we ordered but I wanted to just leave. The staff was constantly run around like ants on an anthill. By the time the meal came I was so stressed by the wet shorts, loud music, and annoying staff, that I couldn't eat. took the meal home in a box. I'll never be back! read more
