Steak Tacos

This place was a vibe. Everyone was super nice. Our waitress was dope, she remembered my sister from her last visit weeks prior and took great care of us. The food was good, wasn't mad at it. We ordered steak tacos w/ rice and beans, the King Cabo Enchiladas, a Horchata, the King Cabo Burrito and for the table as an appetizer the Tri Platter. The guacamole was ok but I enjoyed the queso with beans the most. If ever in the area, give this place a try.

Most places get better after they have been open for a while. This place has gotten worse. They now serve salsa in little tiny thimbles. Literally. We did ask if we could get a bowl of salsa and they said they just have to come around to refill the tiny little thimbles. How terrible for the customers and the servers. Salsa is literally the cheapest thing, do better. The food is mid at best. No real flavor or pizazz. My biggest concern is how close together the tables and chairs are. Being there makes me extremely uncomfortable because all I can think about is that if there were a fire people would not be able to safely exit the building as the chairs are literally back to back and there are no accessible passageways or points of egress. I would not be at all surprised if the fire department forced them to close while they address this issue.

Tuna bites, yummy with a 'bite'.

First time in the relatively new Cabo Mexican Cuisine restaurant in Brier Creek. The interior is modern, elegant, nicely spaced with booths and tables, plus a large bar. It was not busy when we arrived, but a couple of hours later, around 7pm it was visibly getting popular. Our wait person, Madelyn, was friendly and helpful, with the right amount of attentiveness. The food was great - tuna bites for starters (a good substitute for calamari, not on the menu) followed by chicken chimichangas, then Dubai chocolate cake, all excellent! Definitely will return soon. A nice addition to the Brier Creek area. (Note to Management; staff who answer the phone need to be 'on the ball' and properly trained. First contact with any potential client is crucial.)

Cabo Mexican Cuisine is FINALLY open! After a lengthy wait as the signs had been up for quite a long time, the restaurant had their soft opening on May 13. I dined with a few friends for lunch a few days later (some of us have to work). The restaurant is in the former Applebee's location in Brier Creek, and it has been thoughtfully remodeled. I really like the appearance and design of the restaurant. I had the opportunity to sneak into the restaurant and take some preview photos last year (plenty of alcohol in the bar now). I arrived last, so my friends already had beer, chips and salsa on the table when I arrived. I ordered a mango house margarita to enjoy with my Chori Pollo lunch. It came out quite quickly and the flavor was good. As the restaurant is brand new, I am withholding judgment at this time. I enjoyed my meal and will go back in the near future.

Cabo is a brand new restaurant, I look forward to trying them again in a couple months! The good: Cian was our server and he was great, he did everything he could to make sure all his tables were satisfied. We were served water and chips & salsa as soon as we sat down. The chips and salsa were delicious, the chips came out nice and hot. My party ordered a strawberry margarita tower to share, and it was smooth and delicious. The bathrooms and restaurant are beautiful. I love the design and color scheme. I had the Burrito King Cabo for my entree and it was delicious! I loved all the meats and it had a good level of spice. The bad: Our cheese dip took a while to come out. A table that was already seated when we arrived at the restaurant got their entrees after we did. I spoke with some friends I saw at another table, and they went through 3 baskets of chips and were still waiting on their food... so you can tell they are still working out some kinks in the kitchen. The seating is a little crowded, the tables are too close together in some areas and caused jams in the restaurant.

When we walked in Cabo Mexican cuisine, I immediately looked at my friend and said wow! Inside was decorated so beautifully, it was authentic upscale and something I wanted to just sit around in! Food was good, server came immediately and helped us. I got fajitas with shrimp and they did not disappoint. Chips and salsa were delicious. I would definitely love to go back and try some of the other unique menu items.

Ceviche tropical

I am sitting inside the restaurant right now writing this because I couldn't wait! I've been searching for a good Mexican restaurant for a year! Every single item we ordered was DELICIOUS! We started with the dip trio appetizer. The Guac, the queso and the queso bean dip were all so good!! I ordered the ceviche tropical as my main dish. I typically make my own ceviche the same way && this one was better!! The serving size was amazing too! I had to save some for tomorrow. My dad got the fajitas trio. I ate two of his tacos and they were delicious! My mom also enjoyed her chicken fajitas. I highly recommend this place. Our first impression walking in was WOW, how CLEAN! Nice beautiful open space. Clean. The chairs are comfortable. The service was also fantastic. We had to stop the manager halfway through dinner to show our appreciation for the food, the cleanliness and the service! We will be back.

This place is so nice! Apparently it's fairly new as there was a "now open" sign outside of the restaurant. The decor is so modern and chic! I loved it! The staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming as well. The food was absolutely delicious! I may be biased though because Mexican cuisine is my favorite lol. I had the ACP and all of the meats were cooked perfectly and flavorful! I can't wait to go back and try more!

This is the King Baja Burrito. Awesome.

The menu has a great assortment of food for any taste. The King Baja Burrito is awesome and can be shared with your partner in food. The service was fast, friendly and attentive. Made my wife's birthday special for sure. The ambiance is open, bright and beautiful. The center stage is the bar. Very cool vibe.

They're seeding sycophantic reviews. Here's accurate and objective feedback: Food: Sysco special. Chicken tenders and fries for kids were drowning in salt and rubbery (looked like school cafeteria food), burrito was just a pile of filling with a tortilla thrown on top (ive never seen a burrito presented so poorly) and it was flavorless and chewy, and the kids tacos tasted dog food grade. We also ordered a cocktail and they brought the wrong one back and said final sale (is this K mart? What do you mean final sale?). When I pushed back she offered me a shot of JUICE to make up? Ridiculous. Service: slow, unprofessional, cold. When we came in and greeted the manager she ran off and waved us to the hostess. Bad sign. Hostess seemingly never heard of a booster seat (this is supposedly a neighborhood/family friendly grill). The server refused to write anything down, got our order particulars wrong, barely checked on us, offered us a pen and her order pad when we asked for crayons/kids worksheet (so bizarre). The place was empty on a Saturday at lunch yet there were 10+ employees on the floor sitting in the corner gossiping (I speak fluent Spanish). Ambiance: eerily empty, very green/unprofessional staff, no energy or vibe just utensils clanking, nice furniture and design that does not at all match up with the amateur service. Not at all friendly for small kids/families.

Food and service were very good. The noise level was virtually unbearable. Our party of four had to yell to be hear. My Apple Watch warned of the decibel level exceeding 90. Might be back again, but not on a Friday night.

enchiladas suizas

I was at the owners were there so have some time I have a conversation with them and they were super nice and friendly. Let us walk around the entire shop and answer all questions and total some history. It's a college vibe but not an undergrad vibe if that makes any sense. You may see some grass students or whatever the case may be, but you wouldn't find a bunch of 19-year-olds piled up in this kind of spot. It used to be small apparently but they expanded it out to a back room and an attic kind of situation. It seems like a attic kickback kind of spot. Really homish or something you will find in a living room. It made it on the top list of speakeasies on Yelp so I had to check it out while I was in the area. I would 100% recommend.

Walking up to the bar it's a bit hard to find, but look for the wooden sign that says "Belltree" off of Brewer Lane than you've located this bar. Walking into the bar you'll feel like you've walked into a grown up, local, and upscale speakeasy. For my drink I ordered the last word cocktail (house gin, luxardo maraschino, green chartreuse, and lime juice). The drink was excellent and the bartender explained how rare it is to find a bar with green chartreuse as it became a huge staple during the pandemic. Overall this bar was good, and definitely worth checking out for a drink or two.

Really great vibe here. Rooftop seating overlooking Durham. Cool industrial-type architecture…read moreDurham is known for. Hard to find because it's on a weird side street sandwiched between some major streets. If you look up for people on the roof you'll find it and can take the stairs or elevator up in the lobby. I'd definitely like to go back. There were good drink and food selections and the service was good. I got the cheese plate, olives and hot girl summer drink.

To order you'll need to walk up to the bar to place your order. I ordered the Hot Girl Summer (Olmeca Altos Reposado, fresh watermelon, Gran Gala orange liqueur, house-made habanero syrup, lime, salt half rim) which was so good. I also ordered a cheetahs do it in the dark (Astral Añejo tequila, Licor 43, Caffè Borghetti liqueur, espresso, orange twist) which was also excellent. I'd recommend walking out to the rooftop if it isn't too hot. There are several tables and the views of the city are nice. Definitely will come back to the velvet hippo next time I'm in Durham.
