    Steak ACP
    Britt J.

Visited on a Thursday around 5pm and we were able to get in and out. Food was delivered fast & fresh. Order was to our liking as well. One thing about Mezcalito is they have the best salsa. I love the onions to sauce ratio. Chefs kiss This was 2nd location I've visited. I've frequent the Clayton location quite often and they both have consistent branding. Recommend? Yessss

    Chicken taco and cheesy quesadilla

The shredded chicken taco and cheesy quesadilla was okay. I wasn't super impressed by the food. The service was pretty good, though! Our server was fairly attentive, and I was seated quickly after I told them I'd spent the whole day standing. The beans were better than most other places I've been. Ambiance was okay, fairly upscale. The noise level was the only thing I have to complain about in that regard.

Really nice Latin atmosphere. You know, it's a good place to eat when it's packed even the people sitting outdoors on the patio when it's chilly and windy outside. The servers were very friendly and knowledgeable. Although I wondered why they put a party of two at a table for six. The appetizer of chorizo queso was delicious and one of the best I've had. I ordered the enchiladas De Camaron when I saw on the menu it came with Diablo sauce. I'm glad I did. It was delicious with just the right amount of heat. I didn't realize my head was sweating until I walked outside and felt the air conditioning affect in my hair. My friend really liked the burrito they had. I've been to this place once before, and like most Mexican restaurants, I tried the ACP because that's how I usually write a place. And their ACP was just average. But they must've gotten better because everything was really good this time. I'll have to come back, especially since it's right beside a good craft, beer spot, bottle theory.

Food was very reasonably priced - fresh, hot and delicious! Service was top notch! Lunch menu was awesome

I came to Mezcalito in Apex to celebrate Father's Day, and it was a great experience. The whole staff was welcoming. I ordered the pastor quesadilla, it wasn't my favorite. I'll definitely stick to their ACP. I just wasn't the biggest fan of the pineapple they included in and on top of the pastor quesadilla, it was too sweet for my liking. Other than that, I enjoyed Mezcalito. Their ambiance is the best they even have a live mariachi band playing in the restaurant, which I found so cool and epic! I will definitely come back to Mezcalito.

Just did a review on the Durham location and clearly I was so impressed I had to check out the Apex location. If you've seen that review you'll remember I said the Durham location was definitely the place to go for a party. The Apex location wasn't as hype but in a good way. We didn't eat inside so I can't speak to the noise level but it seemed reasonable when we checked in with the hostess before heading back to the patio. The music was still great but it was more lowkey, very family friendly. We enjoyed the evening breeze while it sprinkled. There is nothing I hate more than sitting on a covered patio and still getting wet! This was NOT the case here. The patio was large enough for many groups to be seated comfortably and covered from the rain/wind. My husband and I ordered the exact same dishes as we did in Durham, both were equally as delicious though I will say mine was slightly different in flavor - not good or bad just different. I'll also add I got a margarita that was sweeter than I typically get so it's possible that changed my palate. Regardless the food here is AMAZING and it's officially my husband go to for Tex-Mex, he was missing the Tex-Mex from Dallas so this was a great find. Our server was fantastic. He got our drinks and food order in right away and our food came out popping hot! He stayed near by and kept a watchful eye to ensure we had what we needed. It was another perfect date night! Cheers!

Going down hill! This was a favorite in the area where we loved to bring family and friends. As it's gotten more popular its service and food quality has gone down. Cheese Dip you'd find at any other spot in the area is $10.00. Thinking it's time to take a break and assess the service and quality!

    Burnt chimichanga
    Chris L.

$12.99 for some burnt chimichangas. This not only passed by a chef, but also a front of house manager and possibly a hostess. Everytime we order food here something is either missing or overcooked. Crispy rice. Garbage. I would not feed this burnt mess to my dog. Whole bay leaf stuffed in the chimichangas, also crispy. These things are not hard to spot as a chef. Very disappointed.

1 year later review update- The drinks are still great and the food option are yummy.

This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant. Spacious interior with a big bar area. Very nice waitstaff. The food was some of the best Mexican we've had. The menu is a thing of beauty to look over, tons of pictures of the dishes. It makes it hard to decide. But we were here for a late lunch so we stuck with the back page lunch menu. Dinner will have to be next time. I had the steak Chimichanga and my wife had the chicken quesadillas. Even though these are standard fare, their preparation was incredible. The steak inside was very tender and juicy. The accompanying refried beans were seasoned in a way I'd not tasted before, delicious. Same goes for the quesadillas and the side rice. Definitely a thumbs up here.

Fun, vibrant spot for some great drinks and food! My friends and I stopped by here on our way to Raleigh and it did not disappoint. We were told the wait would be about 30 min, so we went next door to Bottle Theory for a quick drink, but we ended up getting texted about our table being ready after about 15min (we just finished our first round extra fast...never let a drink go to waste!) The decor is bright and colorful, unique and refreshing. We were seated really close to the entrance (a bit of a bummer). Our waitress was really nice and checked in on us consistently. The drink menu was huge, lots of great options, and there were a lot of traditional food offerings (burritos, fajitas, tacos, etc). I think we all got some elevated margarita variation- my friends split one and still couldn't finish, so they left the task to me! I ordered a quesadilla and they shared an ACP and something else (don't remember, we went a few months ago when it had just opened). We all left full and happy though. Definitely recommend this one.

ULTIMATE ACP. So big that I had to take half home.
    Lori D.

I went there with my husband. I wasn't expecting much. It was really good. We sat outside on a cold night. They had heaters - perfect. I had the ACP which was huge. Their salsa was meh. I asked for a spicier version which was delicious. My husband had the vegetarian tacos which he liked. My spicy margarita was good.

    Sangria
    Jennifer B.

My very first time here with my family and it was a hit. The service was phenomenal and the food was flavorful. The ambiance is casual. I had a sangria and shared some steak and chicken tacos with my husband. The tacos were bursting with flavor and were nice and hot from the kitchen. The rice and beans were delicious as well. Let's face it ...who wants to eat a cold taco (nobody). The flan was a fantastic treat too! We will definitely be repeat customers when we visit NC again in the future.

Until a friend's meetup group scheduled an afternoon "let's have cocktails all afternoon" Friday. Yup, count me in! I got there right at the appointed time, and the early birds were already halfway into their wine. There is a large patio area outside with chairs and tables in small groups. A sunshade and some nicely placed trees help a little There are a few 2- and 4-tops scattered around as you enter. To the left is a large square bar that projects into the room. Behind it is a veritable library of liquors, towering to the ceiling, which is about 9-10 feet high. Seeing the bartender climb up the sliding ladder and fetch a spirit was part of the show. Further to the left are two seating areas with round tables. We had one of these. The Cabernet proved to be the darling of the group (I think we had three bottles and a few extra glasses, but no one was counting! There were eight of us, so don't think we're a bunch of drunks!) I had looked over the menu online and started with the "Up in Flames". It's a Tiki drink, served with a squeezed lime shell garnish that has a sugar cube and some kind of liquor in it. The waiter lights it while still on the tray, and then sprinkles in cinnamon, which sparkles into the drink. He then extinguishes the flame and serves it. It was quite a show and very delicious! If I ever go and sit outside, I'm going to film it! After a bit, we were getting hungry, so food started appearing. The fig & prosciutto flatbread arrived first, (with a single plate and napkin). It was a 12" x 6" flatbread spread with honey, figs, prosciutto, chèvre, and arugula. Another of these came out later. Quite delicious. Someone else had the nachos, which they said were amazing. After asking, the server brought out more plates and napkins. Other cocktails that we tried and enjoyed were the Perro Perdito (Lost Dog) and the Drastic Measures. The Mango-chili shrub in this one packed a bit more heat than the Jalapeño dip! But it was tasty, with the salt/tajin half-rim. After a few hours of fun food and drink and a lot of laughter, we decided to release our hold on the table. The dinner crowd was champing at the bit to take over, and we were pretty sated. Everyone was safe to drive, so we hugged all around and parted ways, well fed and better friends. Thanks, N&S. You may drag me back to Apex again any time!!

They blocked off part of the parking lot, had live music going, and the whole place had that fun, lively energy you want on a holiday like this. I was greeted, then seated. I was provided a menu and specials...Prime Rib! After my hectic day, yes I will have that! I mentioned gluten free to my server before making decision. Plus seeing the loaded potato had me a bit worried as I cannot ear pork. I opted for salad once server checked to see if Caesar salad dressing is gf sans croutons. I requested salad with dressing on the side and to bring promptly before my dinner. Salad arrived by and server dressed and it was glistening.... I requested one with dressing on the side...server brought maybe I had two bites and dinner arrived! Salad can wait...prime rib cannot, even though I start with tasting potato. Prime rib was requested mid rare and it delivered. Potato was fine. I did not see the au jus nor horseradish sauce on the side. I did ask server while I was ready to pack it up and he said there was some confusion if there was/was not no gluten so not provided. Noteworthy as the salad a manager stopped by about the dressing and mentioned one type of salad dressing is now gf and one vegan. Good to have options. Disappointed to learn the fries are coated with flour then fried as an option with burger skip the bun...what about baked chips or air fry for those with food sensitivities as an alternative? Just a thought for management to consider please. I saved room for dessert and the mousse did not disappoint and was compted .... thank you! Fantastic! As I looked around there was a steady crowd entering along with regular patrons. Overall 4.5 stars for this visit. On a side note, this is a family friendly restauran/pub. Some servers look disheveled between sloppy hair and untidy uniform. For staff with long hair should be pulled back tight and away from food will prevent hair on the food! Uniform is simple black top and pants....should be clean and neat. A few servers looked like they rolled out of bed...if they are feeling ill, please stay home. Servers should make diners and patrons have a positive and pleasant experience and my server was definitely on point with emphasis on customer service and satisfaction....keep it up! Lastly, females please wear a bra or sports bra or a proper garment under uniform as it is family friendly restaurant, thank you!
