Wonderful costumer service! I initially looked at lighting online but it was so nice to be able to go into the store and see things "live." Rochelle helped me find options to look at and was nice enough to carry my purchase outside since she could see I had a stroller to push. read more

With housing prices being as high as they are in the Bay Area, the only place I could find a house was deep underground where it is very dark, so I need a lot of lamps and Lamps Plus has become my go to store for lamps. The light emitted by lamps from Lamps Plus travels faster than the speed of light. I always thought that was impossible but their engineers found a way to do it. Incredible! read more

Shop elsewhere. I ordered 5 ceiling lamps and a ceiling fan. Everything took forever to arrive and then another long time for electrician to schedule the installation. Then, the fan stopped working after a few hours. It took another week to get electrician to come again. Couldnt fix it and now have to order another one. I actually would like to get my money back and start all over with another company. Horrible customer service. Tina doesnt give customers high priority AT ALL. read more

I have purchased quite a bit of lighting from Lamps Plus over the years, though have never used their installation team. Robert Minas and his team were awesome. Arrived as scheduled, quickly installed, plugged old track lighting holes with caulking, cleaned up, and vacuumed. Robert even had the forethought to ask if I wanted him to use my vacuum or his. That is much appreciated as I always like my vacuum to be used; that way other peoples dirt/fleas are not brought into my home. I had a light bulb over my stairway that needed changing that we could not reach. Robert and his team change the bulb quickly and easily with not additional charge. They were very professional and I highly recommend them for lighting installation. I will definitely use them going forward. read more

I went to the store to buy a chandelier for my dining room. I saw a sales rep just standing by the computer. I asked her if she was with a customer, she said no but didn't offer to help me. I showed her what I was looking for and she goes, "We don't have that on the floor." And that was it. As if I had to pressure her into selling me a lamp, I had to follow up with " Ok, so that means you don't have it?" She goes "No but we can order it for you." I was going to ask her to show me what they have in their system but she she chose to walk off to to dispute with another sales associate about taking credit (commission?) on a sale that was made earlier in the day. That was our signal. Never going back to Lamps Plus. Never recommending this place to our friends or family. read more

A good variety of lightings and to look at the exact size & design in store. Quality lightings at reasonable price. The best part is the excellent and professional service provided by Lighting Consultant, Catherine Wall. She was so patient , helpful, sincere, explaining all options including the extended 4 years warranty at zero cost with the reward program, yet not sale pushy at all. Cathy is definitely an asset to Lamp Plus at the Dublin CA location. Kelvin was cheerful and polite helping us load our purchase. read more

So, I was excited to have found the outdoor fan I was going to have installed in my patio. Went to the bank and grabbed $2000. Drove 45 minutes to Lamps Plus Dublin. Went inside looking for the fans. Saw a sales lady working with another customer while I was looking for my fan. There were no other customers that I noticed anywhere else in my vicinity so I expected the next salesperson to see me to ask if I needed any help. Two sales people passed right in front of me on the way to the counter without acknowledging I was even there. Then another salesman passed on my right totally ignoring me. I've been to Lamps Plus in Torrance, California and I've never been ignored there. This place however has an invisibility shield of some sort that makes customers invisible. Was very disappointed. Left after 25 minutes. Will look for another store that wants my money. My patio isn't getting built for another 2 and a half weeks, that's why I needed to purchase my fans from a physical store since I need to make sure I won't have any problems if the fans I purchase need to be replaced. Anyways, wasted over an hour and a half of driving back and forth. Don't come if you expect customer service or care. read more

Very bad quality, bad service as well. Do not recommend this place. If you want better style and customer service, wayfair is wayyyy better!

Worst customer service! I came in today to purchase a chandelier and literally three sales people walked by and none of them acknowledged I was even there. Finally the fourth person asks if I needed help but I was already walking out the door. The store was empty with plenty if employees walking around. read more

We needed to purchase quite a few items for our home and decided to try Lamps Plus. Very professional & accommodating service. They also known their products and had ideas to help us out. I ordered 2 weeks ago a small outdoor fountain. It's for a 2nd home and we are only there a weekend or 2,each month. The sales person told us it was in stock and they could ship it in 5 days. I explained to her the situation, but I could meet the Fed Ex during the week. No problem I was told , so we set it up for a Wednesday delivery 12 days later. I rearranged my appointments and schedule to take the day off from work, line up a helper to meet me and help assemble it on the day that we had scheduled the delivery. Well today was the day. I arrived early ( it's a 2 1/2 hour drive each way), cleared the area were it will stand and waited and waited and waited. Finally about 4 hours later I called the store were I purchased the fountain and asked if they had any updates or a number I could call for an approximate time. I was informed it had not left their warehouse and was not being delivered to me today. The paperwork showed today's date but I'm not getting it. I explained how this information would have been really helpful yesterday. Anyway, I canceled the order and will never use Lamps Plus again. The funny part is they really didn't care. Just a note to anyone ordering and having them ship it to you, call ahead of time and hope it's really coming. read more

I had a wonderful experience here. When I walked in, David was very helpful and answered all my questions for me. I ended up purchasing a beautiful torchiere lamp with tulip bulbs and was recommended to have it delivered to the store for pickup rather than Fedex in case of damage (which is consistent with the reviews I read on the lamp). Catherine then demoed a bunch of lightbulb options to me and made me feel very confident about what to purchase, even if I were to go shopping for bulbs elsewhere. She also pointed out a less expensive deal they were offering on my lamp that I hadn't noticed before, which I very much appreciated. When my lamp was ready for pickup, David helped me out again and was willing to open up my lamp box upon delivery and confirm all the parts were intact for me and seal it back up afterwards. He also went out in the summertime sun to try and maneuver the 6' box into my tiny sedan. When we couldn't get it to fit, he didn't show any signs of the labor he did and said it was no problem to keep the box on site and return on a later day with a different car. all these lamps and no salesperson in sight. Lamps looked like they belonged in Mr. Furley's apartment

This review is to share my very positive experience with Lamps Plus in Dublin, CA. Mike Goodrick and Aaron Canepa went above and beyond to help me with replacement parts for a low voltage light in our kitchen. It took two shipments from the manufacturer to find the right replacement parts but the Lamps Plus staff stuck with it, including helping me with reassembly of the light. My experience was excellent and I highly recommend Lamps Plus in Dublin, CA. Thanks Mike and Aaron for all your help! Frank Abajian San Ramon, CA read more

Thank you Freda for the great service in Dublin! Greeted me when entering the store, Helped me out with my purchase and all!!!

LOL, I'm already laughing because I don't know what I can say about this place that isn't already in the name of the business. "Lamps Plus"---YES, that is 100% accurate. They have lamps, plus a whole lot more! They also have a HUGE selection of ceiling fans. They have plain old, low-priced fans that are just that---fans. Or, you can get really fancy and get designer fans with built in dimmable lighting. There is SO MUCH STUFF here that I don't see how you can possibly go in looking for a lamp, and then walk out empty-handed going, "Eh". LOL! I mean, seriously, it should maybe be called, "Lamps Coming Out Your A**". Hah hah!! But I love this place. They always have exactly what I need, or something close enough to what I need. My only complaint about this store is why I give them 4 stars instead of 5. The 4 stars are for quantity of lamps, amazing choices, decent prices (wait for sales----they ALWAYS have sales----don't pay full price if you can be patient and wait for the sale). The reason I took away one star instead of giving them 5 stars is strictly because of..........(drumroll please......): Staff. One thing I really dislike writing about are the employees. I know that they don't get paid big bucks and they're not rocket scientists or anything, so I get it. But hey, the world NEEDS employees who sell lamps. I'm not being funny now, I'm being serious. If you are an employee of this store and are reading this, just know that we----the public---need you and appreciate you. We do not know what we're doing when it comes to choosing lighting. But you are in the biz and you're around these hundreds upon hundreds of in-stock lights every day, not to mention the stuff you have access to in the catalogs. WE NEED YOU. If some customers seem to be rude or not appreciate you, I am very sorry for that. There are always going to be "those types" in the world. It's better to just help them and put up with their snooty-ness than getting upset about it. Those people have "issues" and there's nothing you can do to fix that. So just chalk it up to whatever, and move on to the next customer. As I said, we really do appreciate your help and if you could seek us out and just say something like, "Can I help you find anything today?", then WOW, we would be so much happier. But unfortunately, it's me that usually has to hunt you down. Then I stand there at the counter while you're talking to a co-worker about inventory and which demo model to hang up next. Not cool, and I've encountered something similar to this every time I've been there. Once is a mistake, twice is a weird coinky-dink, but three times? Yeah, three times tells me that this is a problem. I wonder why the manager allows that to happen? I'll end on a happier note. This place is great if you're looking for lamps or ceiling fans. The selection is quite large!! Happy shopping. read more

Needed outdoor fans quickly and decided to drive to Dublin to pick up the fans we liked on the Lamps Plus website. Purchasing the fans went smoothly, but on the day the fans were installed they did not work. Troubleshooted and installer was perplexed and said it could be the transmitter/receiver. Called the store to ask if they had replacement transmitter/receivers for the fans and got the run around. Left three messages between the employee that sold me the fans to the manager of the store and no one called me back. Hope you don't have a problem with your purchase because this location has terrible customer service when it comes to resolving issues. Needless to say I returned the fans and the new ones I ordered from Amazon work perfectly. read more

UPDATE! TALKED WITH DISTRICT MANAGER THIS MORNING AND EVERYTHING WAS FIGURED OUT, THEY ARE REFUNDING THE FULL AMOUNT FOR THE FAN. 8-18-2010 WRITTEN ON 8-17-2010 Eek! Methinks NOT!! I have already filed a complaint with the BBB, a complaint with their corporate office, and soon with the District Manager in the morning. Long story...LONG! Bought a fan this past weekend, the sales person was some what helpful (the 1 star), got home, husband installed it, (mind you his background is experienced automotive technician, we own our own business, with specializing in electrical repairs), something in the fan motor was making a noise. We let it run for a while, looked perfect, no wobble, etc. But it made this racket every 2 to 3 minutes. We take the time to uninstall it, put it back in the box and return it. Husband went in to do the return only to be confronted with the store manager (won't put his name on here, call the store if you want it), that I guess was completely unprofessional, cracking jokes, etc. My husband is a nice guy, he was totally talking to the guy nicely and the manager had nothing but sarcastic responses. Why was he so defensive? For example, my husband was talking to him about our business we own, and that things like this come up with our store, and this is how we handle it, he used a specific car as an example, and after the discussion the manager says, well was the car hooked up to a blue box instead of a metal box? That's the kind of answers he was giving. He shorted us $50 on our refund due to cut wires. However it states on the back of their receipt that there is a minimum charge of $50 for cut wires, which I totally can understand if what the consumer is returning has nothing wrong with it. If the fan or item is defective which the fan we bought is, that cut wire fee should not apply. The manager told my husband that there was nothing wrong with it, but how does he know with out installing it himself and hear the noise in the motor like we heard. The manager kept saying that he can't re-sell the fan we brought back because of the cut wire and that it was not in the box perfectly, but why would you want to re-sell something that the customer said is defective. It should be sent back to the manufacturer for a refund to the company. I can understand if someone installed it, there is nothing wrong with it and the people returned it for other reasons other then it not working properly. Then heck yes charge the $50, because essentially it is something that can be re-sold. But not something that is defective!!! Also just to say, when the fan comes with 3 feet of wire and you need to hook up the wires to install it to see if it works, you need to cut the wire. This is what gets me... the manager suggests that this is all avoidable by having a professional electrician install the fan and by having a metal box for support... but I don't see this connection... wouldn't they need to cut the wire too? If the motor on the fan has something wrong with it, whether it's hanging from a metal box or not, the motor is still going to make the noise. The noise was not coming from the ceiling, we're not stupid. My next problem is, the whole suggestion of a professional electrician as the installer. First off, not one single thing was said to my husband or I when we were buying it that they recommend a professional to install the fan, nor was there any warning about a $50 charge for cutting the wires??? Also, last time I checked Lamps Plus sells to the public? They sell to people who are buying things for their house?? They are selling to people who are "do it your selfers" meaning they will install something themselves if it comes with instructions, right??? We have a close family friend who is a Certified Union Electrician, we explained this situation to him tonight and he agrees that we should have a certain box for support, but that would not cause a noise in the motor... he said that the manager is just making things up to make it look like our fault. Bottom line, refund the $50 to the consumer, send the fan back to the manufacturer, get the companies money back, make the customer happy, and avoid situations like these. If nothing will come of this, fortunately for me I have nothing better to do than take care of this legally if it comes to it. I have so much time to deal with things like this it's not even funny. I cannot stand for service like this, this would never fly in the business I own, you have to cut your losses sometimes as a business to keep a good name and to keep your customers coming back or recommending you to other people. read more

Went in to pickup some chandeliers. There was a long line . Even though there were 2 guys working there, only Mark knew how to do a cancellation of part of my order. The other guy said himself he didn't know how to do most of the stuff that customers were coming in for. Mark helped me do a return , one cancellation and brought out all the other items to my car and put them in! They should train more people to be like Mark. read more

Well, if you need a lamp or any other kind of lighting, you can come here. Good luck trying to actually get some help from someone. My hubby & I came in here last month just to check out what this store had. Lamps galore! They have some pretty cool stuff. But no one greeted us. No one approached us. There wasn't that many people in the store. So we walked out. Not like we needed anything anyway. Last night, when we actually DID need a lighting fixture, we came here, thinking "it's a lamp store- they have to have it!" WRONG. Their selection of what we were looking for sucked. And to top it off, we were not greeted again and the salesmen saw us looking lost, however, they did not offer any help. Strike 2. Don't come here if you actually need help. You probably won't get it. We won't be returning here. Oh, and we found what we were looking for at Orchard Supply Hardware, whose prices were MUCH better than here. read more

Dont give them your email. Can't unsubscribe. Even asked at store to be taken off list. Service is lacking.

Huge selection of lights ranging from opulent chandeliers to lava lamps. You are bound to find something that suits you and if not, there are catalogs to peruse for special order items and computers to explore the lamps plus website. The three star rating is for the service. We had to wait awhile for one of the sales reps to help us because they were with other customers. While waiting I noticed how two of the three sales reps weren't particularly friendly. A touch of friendliness and helpfulness would increase their rating. read more

This place is SO BRIGHT at night. It's like they turn on ALL of their lights. Large selection of lamps and other random items to choose from (i.e. chairs, mirrors, picture frames, urns, fans, etc). The prices are absurd for many items though, despite the fact that they read "SALE." Umm...unless the lamp is incredibly huge and handmade on the other side of the earth, I don't see why how ONE light fixture can possibly cost $500. I mean, seriously - it's not a chandelier, and it's not made of diamonds.....where do they come up with these outrageous prices??! Granted, this was one of the pricier light fixtures, but the rest were all about the same price: $199. I can't say I came across anything that was truly low priced. And some of these lamps are very unique. One looked like a jellyfish, another looked like bubble wrap, and yet another looked like something from The Jetsons or Star Trek. Nonetheless, if you need lighting of some sort, there's a good chance you'll find something that looks appealing here. Price-wise, however, well - that depends how much you're willing to spend in order to see in your room when it gets dark. read more

This may be one of the worst run businesses I've encountered in my life! Sheer incompetence. Got the order wrong, left things out and all for a two hour in-store experience! When the sales lady screwed up, she literally just went to the back room and hid until someone else came out. And when we removed the fan from the box, it was missing two pieces! Guess what? Once you open a box, you can't return it! Fantastic! Aggravation awaits if you choose to shop here! This experience deserves ZERO stars. read more

I was looking for a desk lamp. I have never been treated with excellent service..or just good service. There is no service offered here. The employees and manager stick close behind the counter.Everyone is so busy on their computer. One guy told me he couldn't help me until he had finshed with his email. I found the lamp I wanted and went to the counter to get an employee to talk to me about the lamp. After waiting for several minutes without being acknowledged, one sales lady said she would be right there. Great: finally someone noticed me. I wait in anticipation. She comes back and I am talking to her when the phone rings. No one else picks the phone up. I told the lady she could answer that phone, thinking she will put the call on hold and come back to me. I know how important calls are to a business. Missed calls are missed customers. Well, the lady took the call and decided to take care of the phone caller instead of me. More waiting. Then I get to talk to Aaron who did try to help me with my questions. I ended up ordering the lamp because it is never in stock in any of the stores..just in the warehouse. It would take 3 days. Ok, I buy the lamp and put it on my Visa. Then Aaron tells me that if I give them my email address, I will receive an extended warranty for the lamp. If I say no to receiving this warranty via email, I get nothing. (I confirmed this with Aaron, so yes this is the deal) Aaron says Lamps Plus will call me when the lamp comes in on Wednesday. Wednesday comes, and I called instead of waiting for a call that I would not expect to come. The lady answers the phone and checks their shipments and YES my lamp is there. I go in and have my order paperwork out. There is an older man named Jared at the counter. He gives me the impression he is the manager. When he finishes his business on the computer, he looks at me like I have interrupted him. He asks "What do you want?" I say I want to pick up my lamp that I ordered. He says "Did we call you?" I said." No, I called this morning instead. A woman checked for me". Then he asks very sarcastically "And did we tell you that the lamp was in?" I replied: "Yep..that's why I'm standing here..." Wow...such wonderful warm service...and very smart too. I would not recommend this place at all to buy anything. You should bypass this store. They apparently do not care if they have a bad reputation. I know this is the last time I come in. And one last note: I still haven't received any warranty from Lamps Plus sent to my email. read more

Really nice, really incompetent "lighting specialist" came to our house from here. BAD STUFF!

Unprofessionalism makes for an awkward store experience. I was here a few weeks back for an exchange. Although the exchange went fine, while I was at the register, the store manager was scolding salesperson for not making his sales numbers and threatened his job if he did not improve. Like really? You have to do that in front of customers? Heard of a breakroom meeting? I was surprised that this kinda thing had to occur in such an inappropraite way in front of customers. I think the managers unprofessionalism created an uncpleasant shopping experience and would feel uncomfortable shopping here again. read more

I've never felt inclined to write a review on yelp before but I am very displeased at the customer service from the sales associate at this store. CATHERINE the shorter woman with brown hair was extremely unhelpful and wanted to just end her day. The item I was looking for was not in stock but she refused to call around to any other stores to see if there were any available at other locations until I had to ask her multiple times to. As we left she also followed us out to end her day. Seemed like she had no interest in helping us and just wanted to go home. As she was also leaving she continued to glare at us as she walked to her car. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Honestly the worst customer service I have ever seen in any industry.
